The crew that planted the trees was professional and knowledgeable. The birch trees (2) had some issues. Not sure if they were sick or in shock. One tree came back and appears happy. The second, which started out strong, looks to have died. Won't know for sure until spring. All of Moana's trees have a one year warranty so, if necessary, the ailing birch tree will be replaced at no charge. Overall happy with Moana's service.

Moana landscape designer implemented my vision, made changes and suggestions as needed, and was responsive at every turn. The project began in October 2014 and evolved over time through October 2015. I would hire them again if needed.

Excellent. We selected Moana landscaping after reviewing 3 bidders, as we were most comfortable with their work (they had done an earlier project in our back yard for us), and they were the lowest bidder for this project. We did planning in the late fall with them and agreed upon contract scope and pricing. They provided drawings and worked with our community association to get all approvals in preparation for the project. Project started in late June, only about one week later than originally planned, and finished in less than three weeks as proposed. We are very satisfied with the process and love the final product. All involved were highly professional and courteous.

It went very well. Dawn provided excellent design services and Craig and his crew did the demolition, removal and installation. We had selected them because they were responsive, had great design vision, timely, reasonable cost, good workers and excellent follow-up. We knew that in advance because we had them do our back yard the previous summer. Suffice it to say, they did a great job, we are very pleased. On time, on budget, great results. Who could ask for more?

One month later the lawn looks fabulous again. Their expert, timely, and reasonably priced service is just what we needed. They explained why they programmed the system to water when it does and how that would give us the best results while conserving water. For first time home owners their assistance was just what we needed. I would highly recommend the folks at Moana Nursery and Ryan and James in particular.

Once we got the July thunderstorms behind us we got started July 20, 2015. There was a crew of 5 on most days with Tim Jephson our primary contact. Completed work looks fantastic. Tim was great with communication and the planning process. The Moana crew was professional and friendly. Change orders were handled nicely. Really appreciated that the crew showed up as represented each morning and upon wrapping up the day, always left the front street clear of dirt, gravel and rock and the backyard in a neat condition. Had used another local landscaper originally and was not happy with their work. Moana was a completely improved experience with excellent suggestions and available plant materials. Moana's knowledge of my soil issues and a can do attitude was greatly appreciated. Like so many people, I thought I could save money on the less expensive contractor which proved costly in making corrections. Moana Nursery Landscaping services has proved to be a great value and I can highly recommend them to any one considering a major landscaping project. From initial consultation to finished product there were no surprises. My home is in the Saddle Ridge subdivision of South East Reno for those of you that know what we have to deal with in soil conditions.

I called Moana Nursery after reading the positive reviews here on AngiesList and needless to say, I made the right choice. Ryan Morgan came out to my house and was very polite and easy going. He not only fixed all of my issues very quick but he was more than willing to share his knowledge and experience with me to help me understand not only how to fix my problem but also prevent other problems down the road. This to me almost seems unheard of. I rarely get this type of exceptional service which I felt when working with Ryan and Moana Nursery. He answered all of my questions and walked me through what he was doing each step of the way. He is indeed a pro and a great employee. I couldn't have been happier with this experience and it was indeed money well spent. If you are looking for someone who is not only outstanding but willing to answer all of your questions, look no further. After this experience I can say without a doubt that I will be calling Moana Nursery for all of my irrigation and plant needs in the future.

Service was excellent. Professional, very courteous. Even explained that original owners had system set up to water to much and explained the plants in the drip system and why they and the turf did not need as much.

Ryan Morgan at Moana has done work on my lawn irrigation for a few years now, and he doesn't just do the work, he provides an education in the life cycle and care and feeding of grass. He knows everything there is to know about the plants, irrigation technology, and weed control. There's frankly no reason to call anyone else in Reno to help with an irrigation system. He's been doing this for years and has a background designing golf course irrigation. He's got such a great reputation that the owner of my lawn care service (also a great guy, Cory Bettinghouse) has been recommending Ryan to everyone even though they've never met in person. I really can't say enough about how great Ryan is. He acts like he's got a personal relationship with my lawn and a long term plan for improving it. One spring, I noticed when I turned on my water that one of my front sprinkler heads had been damaged and needed to be replaced. I made plans to call Ryan later that day, but BEFORE I could reach him, he swung by the house, noticed the damage, and fixed the sprinkler head. He left a note on my door, but before I saw it, it was like the shoemaker and the elves. If you've got an irrigation system that's broken or could be improved, or you just want to maximize its efficiency and conserve water, call Ryan Morgan. Seriously.

Very helpful! The manager walked around the entire nursery with me and advised which plants would work best together and the best way to plant them. This was probably the fourth time we had been there to get more plants for my wedding reception in the back yard. The manager herself was willing to try and find plants to match ones we already had in the yard using blurry iphone pictures i had taken, and loaded them into my car, which wasn't easy. (I should have brought a truck). But they worked willingly and confidently without a complaint! very impressed! We have been going there for years and they have always been welcoming which is why we trusted them with such an important event.

This is the second time I have had a negative experience @ the Moana Nursery on Pyramid Highway in Sparks,NV. The first involved asking about a native wild flower mix---which they did not have at this store. I was told to check the other two stores because certainly they would have it. I did check both the stores; and neither had the product. So I am out two hours of my time---I do think and quot;goodand quot; customer service would have phoned the other stores and checked to see if they had the product before sending me on a wild goose chase. The second incident at this very store involved the cashiers taking people out of line that they knew and ringing their products before mine. Even the other customers were apologizing for the cashiers actions. Simply put, unless you know the Sparks cashiers you will not recieve customer service. I will not return to this business regardless of their repsonse----poor customer service.

Ryan is their technician. It went very well. I am satisfied with their service. Ryan is very knowledgeable and fixed everything that needed to be repaired, as well as turning on the system. The price is very reasonable. I will absolutely use them again.

Took a bit to find someone to help me but once they did it was fabulous ! I just think the prices are a bit on the high side

Moana is a great nursery, but we were underwhelmed with their landscape proposal. Costs were out of line relative to all other proposals, concrete work would have been subcontracted out and pricing for concrete was very high. The sense throughout discussions with Moana was that they were trying to manage the landscaping job to a budget, based on a percentage cost of the property. Received a 2nd proposal from Moana when we asked them to trim the scope to reduce cost, and they provided a detailed breakdown, but unit costs for many of the items actually went UP with no explanation. It became clear pretty quickly that Moana wasn't going to be a good choice for us for our project.

With our first home purchase several years ago, Moana Landscape and Nursery did our front and backyard to perfection. They were professional, timely and everything turned out beautifully! We were very happy with the finished landscaping improvements they performed.

Perfect! Moana's staff was very professional and careful in planting our new tree exactly where we wanted it. They cleaned up after the planting and left no trace that they'd been here. Great job! Thanks again, Moana Nursery.

I did not have Angie's list at the time, and got three separate bids for the same work. Moana Landscaping came in with the lowest bid (half the price as the highest bid), which surprised me as I had heard that they were quite expensive. Did work on schedule with very professional quality performance. They arrived promptly and worked quickly, cleaning up after themselves. Designer, Craig. actually on his own had the workers change the dry creek bed after initial installation (at no extra cost) because when looking at the work he thought it would look better with more bends in it. We are very happy with the results.

We had used this provider last year to purchase a tree for our new home. We returned to discuss what types of plantings would be appropriate for our area, what services they could provide as landscapers, and more general information. The provider walked the display area with us pointing out plants that we might be able to use. We did not get a quote or use the provider as we had a short time there. We will return as we get permanently settled and request a quote.

We wanted to block a view in our front yard, and had heard good things about Moana Nursery, so we consulted with them, over several meetings with their and quot;expertand quot; gardeners, both at our home, and in their stores. We ordered three 15-foot trees, and had them plant them where they suggested. We were told these were and quot;drought-tolerantand quot; trees that were easy to grow, and would spread out and fill in the area where we planted them. We had problems with them from the very beginning. They told us to water them about every two weeks, which we did faithfully, but they began to look brown at the tops. We emailed their experts, but they didn't respond, we had to call the owner to get them to respond, and we asked them to come out and look at them. When they finally did come out, they brought new trees to replace them, because they thought that we had said the trees were dead. We hadn't said that, we just said that we thought they looked like they were dying, and we wanted to know what to do! This went on repeatedly throughout the first year of the trees' lives, and we repeatedly attempted to contact the experts. They finally said they would come out again and quot;when they were in our area,and quot; and they never showed up. Now, in July, 2013, we contacted an expert arborist, and our trees are all but dead. He said that the trees were planted incorrectly, and that their roots never had the chance to spread out, so the trees never got enough water, no matter how much we watered them. In the end, we were watering them two to three times a week, even in the winter, and they still died! $500 was a lot of money for us to spend on trees, and now, we have to replace them! We will NEVER go back to Moana Nursery, or recommend them to anyone. They planted our trees incorrectly (in about 20 minutes time), didn't follow up, ignored our emails and phone calls when we were pleading for help, and essentially killed our trees when we couldn't figure out what to do to save them. Moana Nursery doesn't care about their customers once the sale is finished, and don't let them tell you otherwise.

We needed everything from the planning to the execution, and they worked with us all the way. The initial bid came without the line items, but they came back with the details quickly. And they provided the information needed by our homeowners' association in a timely way. The project took three weeks to perform but the crew cleaned up everyday so as not to disrupt our lives too much. Over all we were very pleased with the work and the outcome.

and located thre problem and had it fixed - all within 4 hours of our call, and we are in Wingfield Springs. We were extremely pleased with the work, responsiveness and cost.. We will call Moana with any future problems.
