Overall it went well; Allen's is professional and fair. I'm sure it is standard procedure to charge a basic one-hour fee (I think it was) and in this case it was $89.00 with a $9.00 senior discount. It seemed a little high considering it took him 10 minutes at most, but I believe it was totally in line with present market rates and charge protocols.

whole job went well , even when Lamont and his coworker encountered a tough problem to overcome during installation of new furnace where we both thought a third party would have to be used to finish the job and delay the whole process , but by the next day Lamont figured out a way to get the job done by himself and his crew on time and on budget ! Also while under my house he noticed a pipe leading into my kitchen sink ( which had been giving me problems ) was in bad condition and fixed the problem by replacing the pipe for me , bonus !!!

Lamont Allen was a great pleasure to work with on these repair efforts from start to finish. We communicated by phone and e-mail to provide a scope of all the separate tasks. Lamont came to our house the day before making repairs to list and diagnose all the work, and to determine what materials he would need. That enabled him and his assistant to complete the entire list of tasks on the scheduled service date. Lamont was also very kind to meet my crowded schedule because I was staying in Reno for only a few days on this occasion. I was particularly impressed with two things: when Lamont faced the puzzle of why we were not getting any hot water in our bathroom even though the water heater itself was operating entirely OK, he showed a keen grasp of how a failure of our recirculating pump could cause this effect by pulling cold water from the bottom of the heater, that is, letting water flow in the "wrong direction". On the other hand, when Lamont was able to quickly get a shower steam generator functioning again, he didn't pretend he had solved some exotic problem but told me straight-out that there had been a simple cure. I highly recommend Allen Plumbing ... they gave me excellent, timely service at a very fair price.

Lamont was responsive to phone calls, and arrived promptly with an assistant. He quickly determined what was needed and had the necessary supplies to complete the job his first visit. The price seems high to me as the work took less than an hour. But I didn't get any other estimates, so I can't be sure on that. I'm glad it's done and I would definitely call Lamont again.

We haven?t yet decided to have the work done by them because it?s more expensive than what we had planned. The guy who came out was polite and came on time. He was timely in getting back with the estimate. We might consider using their services again in the future.
