I, unfortunately, fall in the category of having a terrible experience with this guy. I called the service on Friday morning and was assured that he would get right back to me. On Monday, mid morning, he still hadn't called back. So, I called again and this time he called right back. I told him of what happened on Friday and he sounded honestly upset that he (said) he didn't get the message. He said he would come out early Tuesday morning and fix the problem. By 11:00 AM, no show and when I called back, the secretary said she would send the message over again. He never showed up or called. Don't waste your time depending on this guy.

Installation was difficult but the installer did good job.

We were very pleased with the job Lamont and Javier did in installing a new toilet at our house. Lamont promptly provided an estimate and Javier ably performed the installation. We've hired them for other jobs and have found them to be first-rate professionals. We recommend them to our friends.

Horrible! I called their company because others had given them such good reviews. The first time we spoke, Lamont said he was busy, but would call me to set up an appointment the following week. This was on a Wednesday. After a week and a half I called him back on a Friday. He apologized for not getting back to me and told me he would call me on Monday. By Friday the following week, I texted him to give him a friendly reminder that I was still waiting on him. He never responded. I tried to contact him one more time and he ignored that as well. An entire month went by before I finally called Johnson Plumbing. They came out immediately and did a great job. I was very disappointed in Allen Plumbing and would absolutely not recommend them.

Lamont responded in a timely manner, and was on time with appt. He is very personable, efficient, and the price was very reasonable. I will be using this company again, and recommending him to friends!

i DEFINITELY DON'T RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!! It appears that the son, Lamont, owns the business. Very argumentative, especially when I felt that they had no real plan of how to find it. He sent his dad out first, who he said has been in the business 30+ years or something like that. He seemed like a nice guy; maybe he couldn’t see or something and he did take an hour off the bill for “talking too much”. He said he was "old school"... yep, he sure was. Took him 4 hours to do what I had someone else do in less than an hour. He checked the gas dryer first and then the kitchen stove lines but didn’t find anything. He then pulled our fireplace apart (although I told him that NV Energy said it wasn’t leaking there) and didn’t find it there. Next, he went into the attic and checked all of the line drops; the problem was in the line drop to the dryer, which he should have found easily as it was a significant leak. The leak detection folks we had come out subsequently said it was clearly visible and should have been easy to see even with a spray bottle approach! When I told Lamont that we needed a plan to isolate the leak, he said the only way to find it is to tear out all the walls and spray each line. He became very argumentative and defensive over his dad’s work. I didn’t want the whole house torn apart, wall by wall using his approach. Fortunately, I decided to keep researching and find someone that knew what they were doing! Bottom Line: They didn't have the equipment to do actual "gas leak detection". He used a regular air compressor and a squirt bottle vs. having helium or carbon dioxide gas and sniffers. The service I had come out after these guys found it in less than an hour. The father just went from one line/drop to other spraying his little water bottle… “heh, heh… let me check here…. Nope… not here, heh, heh”… Pretty soon it became apparent to me that he would just spend as much time as he could “looking for it”!? Upon complaining to his son that we needed a better approach, he became very irritated and argumentative… not someone I wanted to continue to work with! Unfortunately, I guess you have to go through a learning process; we had to learn the hard, expensive way which was/would have been great for Allen Plumbing… not too good for us! Paid to get rid of them! If they were good businessmen, they would have told us they didn't have the right equipment or experience to find the leak and to get a good leak detection service in there and once we found it, let them know and they would do the repairs... at least to my way of thinking. They would probably have a loyal customer as well as referrals... will never use or recommend them again! American Leak Detection Service was excellent. A bit higher priced but cheaper in the long run as they knew what they were doing and got it done asap (again, less than an hour)! Much less stress as well. Also referred us to a reasonable, honest plumber... Jackrabbit... both came up from Gardnerville with no mileage charges, etc. I hope this review will help someone who has a similar issue. Make sure you get someone who has the right equipment and get good references.

IT DIDN'T HAPPEN BECAUSE HE DIDN'T CALL BACK IN FOUR DAYS

Lamott got back to me within an hour of his answering service taking my message. He had a job in the area, and so he fit me into his schedule. From the time that I called, he was at my doorstep within 2 hours. He was friendly, professional, and diagnosed and fixed the heating problem in a short time - turned out to be a few parts needed cleaning. He knew exactly what to do to get it running again. Definitely would do business again!

It went so much better than I thought it would. I was not only impressed by the speed and professional way I was treated but by the way Rich made sure I was happy with the work as it progressed. I don't think I have ever been treated better by a service company than I was by Allen. And, they are close to me so I didn't have to pay extra to come all the way out to my house. I would use them again in a heart beat!

Allen Plumbing sent Rich to my home within an hour. He repaired the leak graciously and efficiently! Allen Plumbing has completed other jobs for me in the past, and I have always been more than pleased with the job. They are courteous, timely, neat and polite. I can't recommend them enough! Allen Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning is the company I will always call to take care of my needs.

From the time I called till they walked in the door was 45 minutes. Had it up and running in no time. I would recommend them to anyone! Ask for Lamont.

I have used them before and my experience was very good. My last experience with them was not very good. He made three appointments and never showed up. They did not charge me anything because they did not do anything the last time. Their price was fair. It was good. When they show up, they do very good work. The thing they could improve on is just show up.

He said per hour $80 its was only maximum 30 min job they took 45 minutes and were demanding for 1 hour and 30 minutes, demanding $ 250 or so, when questioned he said they charge from the time they start from their place and reach and complete the work, I was shocked I said the time starts when you come and start the work at my residence and after that he called some one and finally asked me to pay $159. They entered the house 1st wearing the shoe cover and had to go out several times and started walking inside the house without the shoe cover. when going to the crawl place to remove the lid he did not have a screw driver in his tool box so went out to the truck to get it. Before going to the crawl place he was supposed to switch of the water heater but he did not again came out from crawl place and turned it off and started the work. Took their own sweet time to complete. No professionalism.

GREAT!! The Javier and Rich were awesome. So friendly and courteous. You can tell they truly LOVE what they do. We couldn't be happier and we will use them again for all of our plumbing, heating or a/c needs. We had 3 different services being preformed that day and they were the only ones to wear shoe booties to protect our floors! It might be a small detail, but given we had just had our floors installed we were so appreciative of that. A+++++++++++ to the whole experience.

Our water heater sprung a major leak late at night. I called Allen Plumbing to do the repair based on the excellent reviews on Angie's list. I called at 12:30 PM and Lamont was at our home by 3:00 PM. Our water heater clearly needed to be replaced. Lamont could easily have told us that the tank needed to be replaced, and charge us for a new tank. Given the massive amount of water coming from the unit, we would not have known any different. Instead, he went out of his way to phone the manufacturer to see if the unit was still under warranty. It turns out it was, and we ended up with a brand new water heater for a fraction of the expected cost. The job was finished by 6:00 PM. Lamont was professional, punctual, and friendly. We will definitely use his company again.

Lamont and his crew are great! They respond quickly to communications, were on time and completed the work promptly. They cleaned up after themselves. Lamont made sure we knew how to operate our new system. We're very pleased with our new furnace and a/c and we plan to use Lamont for future plumbing projects.

Plumbing repairs are never fun however Lamont Allen and his crew were fantastic. Lamont made great recommendations on water heater options and the replacement process was done quickly and professionally. As were the other plumbing issues that were performed. The final cost was well within the original estimate. I am extremely pleased with both the work and the service and will be using Allen Plumbing for all future plumbing needs.

He was prompt, friendly, and honest in his pricing and suggestions on what we should do to have everything functioning properly. Will be using his services again for all of our plumbing and heating/air needs. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY!

The toilet had been acting up for a week or so but I'd put off finding a plumber because of the hassle. This morning I found water on the floor dripping from the tank and it was time to find help. The first place I called told me I'd need a new toilet and would have to wait until Monday (four days) to get a plumber in to do it. The next place I called was Allen. So glad I did. Lamont was out here (north Sparks) within a few hours, had all the parts on his truck, and had it completely fixed in 30 minutes. He's professional and friendly and the price was reasonable. I plan to get him out here to service my furnace and A/C in spring. Highly recommended.

Mr. Allen does not let any complications get in the way of completing a superb job.

Called for service on my furnace which was intermittently stopping. Talked to Lamont about the problem, and he said he could probably get to me by Thursday of that week. Never contacted me again. Called another heating company and they tried to fix the furnace, but failed. Furnace is still not functioning properly.

Lamont was terrific. He promptly responded to my call and he was able to come to my home quickly. He arrived on time and was very professional. He immediately went to work diagnosing the problem and explaining clearly what it was. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I will continue to call Allen Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. Thanks to Lamont I have lots of hot water again. Excellent job.
