Yes! Air Conditioning and Plumbing were running a special on "A/C Tune-ups" so I hired them to tune-up both of my air conditioners. The tech spent about twenty minutes on my roof them came down and said he definitely recommended I replace both units. He said they could work out a great deal so the total price would come out to about $15k and I could make payments. I already have a quote from another company for $9,000, so I knew the price was bogus. I asked the tech what he did to "tune-up" my ACs. He said, "It's more of an inspection than a tune up." I said, "OK, but what changes did you make to my system to make it run better? Did you grease anything? Did you add coolant?" Him: "No, you have a sealed motor so it doesn't need lubricant and we don't add coolant if it is blowing cold. But I ran down the checklist to verify everything is working correctly." Me: "I'm kinda bummed I just spent $100 and got no improvement in my AC system." Him: "Don't be bummed. I verified your system is working well. I tested the power, and everything." Me: "So I paid $100 for a sales pitch for a grossly overpriced system that I totally don't need. Get out of here." A few days later someone from the company called to check if I was happy with the service. I explained that the tech seemed capable, but the over-all service is bogus because there is no such thing as a "tune-up" and I paid $100 for an "inspection" sales pitch. They said they'd have a supervisor call me but they never did. This is the second time I tried to use Yes! this year. I tried to use them for plumbing and got the same results. They came out and gave me a pushy sales pitch about how I needed to buy their plumbing insurance service. I already have a great home warranty so it would be a waste of money. They also quoted $1,200 to install an instant hot water dispenser at the kitchen sink. Lowe's has the part for $150 and will install it for about $200.
Description of Work: I was supposed to get a tune-up in a 4 ton and 5 ton air conditioning units. Instead I got an "inspection" that showed no problems with the units but was told I needed to upgrade anyway.

We’ve used them before in other cities. They are a national company. We’d got increasingly frustrated with them because they don’t ever seem to keep an appointment time. They were supposed to inspect our water heater and they kept saying they would come later. Finally we cancelled the appointment. The problem is I don’t know of anybody that I could go to for the services that I have better confidence in. They are on time quite a bit for the follow up. The problem was, they should have just called and said that they couldn’t make it that particular day. They kept on delaying by every two hours and then it was 2pm already. So half day was gone. This has been a recurring thing. The first time when they were to put the insulation, we cancelled them. They constantly seem to run a couple of hours late. We have to be a little more careful with their scheduling or else we have to schedule them and not schedule anything else for that day. I’m certainly on the look out for someone else. We will use their services for the time being.
Description of Work: We used ARS / Rescue Rooter Nevada for heating, air conditioning and water heater. They were supposed to come about two or three weeks ago to do an inspection for our water heater. They do our heaters in the fall and our air conditioning in the spring, and the water heaters too. The last time they came out to service the air conditioner.

I received a flyer in the mail for $39.00 A/C inspection the week of June 29th and called to schedule an appointment as this was a great deal. My appointment was set for June 26th. Once that date arrived I received a call saying my technician was running a little late and I said that was not an issue. 20 minutes later I received another call saying they would have to reschedule my appointment. No big deal, it was really hot outside and I understood customers without air conditioning had higher priority. I set my next appointment for July 3rd (their soonest availability). Upon the arrival of July 3rd, I did not receive a call from ARS during the scheduled appointment time. I then called to get an estimated time of arrival and I was placed on hold. After waiting, I was told they needed to reschedule my appointment (again) due to influx of other customers needing work done. This was on a cool, cloudy morning. I declined. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Technician, Phil arrived on-time and did complete check of my a/c system; both in the attic and outside unit. He also changed my filters and cleaned the filter units. They are always dressed neatly; uniforms are pressed & clean and they always put on protective booties over their work shoes to protect floors / carpets. Phil shared an option to upgrade the clean-air filtration system that I purchased from them several years ago. I liked the product and elected to upgrade. Phil was back the next morning with the product and installed in the attic. Said he would follow up with me in 7 days to be sure I was pleased with the purchase.
Description of Work: Came to my home for annual a/c service and shared with me info on new clean-air filtration system which I elected to upgrade to. I have been using Yes! since 2005 for a/c, heating & plumbing services. First found them in Yellow Pages when my a/c went out in 100+ degree weather & they sent a service technician over right away, even though it was after hours. I have been with them ever since and have purchased a/c, furnace, hot water heater, water osmosis, toilet & clean air filtration systems through them. They are not the least expensive company in town but they are absolutely the best! I believe in paying a fair price for quality product AND service and that's what you get with Yes! My annual service contract insures that my home stays in good running order, year after year and potential problems are discovered before they are an emergency. I have had the same technician, Phil throughout my experience with Yes! (a/c & heating) and he is professional, on-time and delivers on all levels. Same experience with office administrator, Erica. I will continue to recommend the team at Yes! to my family & friends.

I have a service contract with them and I am happy with them. They came on time and the service man did not look like a zombie. The guy was personable and friendly, he seemed competent, and he answered all of my questions. He told me what needed to be fixed, he explained my options, and told me how much it would cost, but he did not pressure me. On the plumbing side, I am less happy. When the guy came to check my water heater, he told me that the anode rod needed to be replaced so I had him do it. I was charged about $250 but I got to thinking about that so I called a plumbing supply house and found out that anode rods run for about $35. That’s the last time I will have them change an anode rod; I’ll learn how to do it myself. On the HVAC side, I am very happy.

The service person was on time and professional. It was obvious that he was an experienced plumber. The problem was the cost. I was charged $250 for each toilet ($750) which I later found out was way out of line given that I could have had 3 brand new toilets installed for that price. The service person recommended that I have one of the water valves replaced on one of the toilets, another $149 and then he broke another one on one of the other toilets, hence another $149. He also offered to look at my water heater and low and behold he found another opportunity to get more money out of me by telling me that I needed to replace the rod inside the tank as it was corroded. That was $249.00. Again, I later found out that given the age of my water heater, that was an unnecessary repair. And like others, I was hit up for the annual service plan another $149. So, what I thought was going to be a relatively simple job of replacing the guts of (3) toilets turned into a $1300 bill!!! I learned an expensive lesson here, which is to be sure to get several estimates prior to hiring and help yourself by joining Angies List which I wish I had done sooner.

You do not need to switch to the new refrigerant. According to the EPA, existing systems that use R-22 can still be serviced, used, and maintained. In 2020 R-22 will no longer be produced however your system can still be used as long as the refrigerant is recycled or reclaimed. The EPA has been phasing out the use of R-22 for several year now. In 2010 no new equipment made uses R-22. Angie's List frowns upon including weblinks in these reviews. However, i feel that it is important in this case. More info: http://www.epa.gov/ozone/title6/phaseout/22phaseout.html More info: http://epa.gov/ozone/title6/downloads/EPA.homeowners.9-06-06.pdf My parents contacted a reputable company who serviced the blower motor on the furnace. The heat was back up and running in less than an hour and cost them under $100.00.
Description of Work: Tried to sell my retired parents a whole new HVAC system for over $10,000 when all they needed was routine service on the blower motor. The salesperson tried to scare my parents by falsely claiming that the EPA would fine them for not changing their a/c system to a new one that uses the new refrigerant, R-410A. This is all BS to scare retirees out of their money. 2 of the 4 HVAC companies my parents had over to their house said that they needed a whole new HVAC system. The EPA will not come and fine you for having a HVAC system that uses R-22.

The men measured for a separate gas line, as required by code, according to the lead estimator from Yes Plumbing. They said that I definitely qualified for the new ''tankless'' hot water heating system and the price they gave me included the $1,500 US Government credit for upgrading the system to save natural gas. They were at my home for about 1 hour. The Yes representatives presented me a quote for a new system--including the removal of my conventional hot water tank. One of the representatives walked up to me and stood about 2 feet from my face. He handed me a contract that stipulated a price of +$17,500. He intimidated me into signing the contract. The pressure was overwhemling. I signed the contract with my name and the accompanying statement: "I refuse the contract. My signature was provided under duress.'' PS: I got a second bid from the largest HVAC and Plumbing company in the Valley. The same job and unit was quoted as well as all other related items. Price: less than $7,500. YES plumbing represents the nadir in the plumbing field in Las Vegas, from my personal experience. Yes was $10,000 higher than the low bid.
Description of Work: Yes Plumbing sent a ''government'' like post card telling me I was eligible for a $1,500 credit from the Federal Government--under some ''green'' program--for converting my conventional hot water tank to a ''tankless'' hotwater system. I called for an appt and two men from Yes came to my home. No service was performed. See below.

The removal of the old system and installation of the new system went as scheduled with no complications. After the crew left we noticed a vibration when the air handler was running. It took 4 visits and 2 lost work days until a new air handler unit was installed. Not blaming the company. They eventually made it right, and added a years free maintenance for my inconvenience, at my request. However, almost 3 weeks after the install, I'm still waiting for the tax refund paperwork, that was twice promised.

I have a service contract with Yes and they inspected the A/C in April. No problems noted. On subsequent service call at the end of July I was informed that the unit had a leak, was in bad condition, and needed to be replaced. Offered a $14,600 5 ton A/C for $13,600 (end of the month discount). Upon questioning the price, I was told they had a cheaper alternative for about $10,500. Told them I would consider the proposal. I then called an "A" rated Angie's list service company. They responded immediately, reviewed the unit and informed me that the unit was out of refrigerant, probably from a leak. (I doubt if the unit had been serviced in several years). He further reviewed the situation and told me that he was going to recharge the unit to see if it held pressure. He provided his card and asked that I contact him over the weekend with the status. Two weeks later the A/C is still working well and cooling the house perfectly. There may, in fact, be a leak and at some point the equipment may have to be replaced. Lin Air quoted a replacement in the $6,000 range if necessary. I will give Yes credit for hiring excellent sales people and their representative attempted to close the sale several times.

They were excellent and were on time. They were very clean since they cleaned up everything. So it was very good as there was no mess. It was really nice and there was nothing that I had to do. ARS came out for a routine maintenance service on 6/24/10. The tech checked both units and said one (south side) was in great shape esp considering its age, but both units needed new "contactors", "chemical scrub condenser coils", and one unit (north side) needed a new "comp run cap and start capacitor relay kit." On 6/28/10, the north side unit stopped cooling. I called the same technician who came on the 24th and he came right over and said "compressor not starting; install start capacitor and relay". He replaced the start capacitor and relay ($261) and charged for the trip ($69). On 7/4/10, the north side unit stopped working again. I called the same tech on 7/5/10 and he came right over. His diagnosis was "bad condenser fan motor and cap ($1,002), compressor not running ($2,711), contactor pitted ($276), chemical scrub condenser ($399)". He gave me an estimate of $4457 to get the unit in running order. Well, I may as well just buy a new unit. So he called a salesman to come over who gives me an estimate of approximately $10,700 for a new unit. I paid the trip charge of $69 and called 2 other contractors. Both of the other contractors said that the condenser fan motor should be replaced at a cost of $400. (Look above and note that ARS wanted to charge me $1,002 for this same motor!) And both of the other contractors charged only a $50 trip charge. I also asked both of them what they would have charged for the start cap and relay kit: $189!!!!

The company called to schedule service on the a/c unit. They wanted to do a "free" inspection/draining of the water heater. I said no to the water heater as the last time they offered to do this, they didn't have the right attachment for the heater. I schedule the service for 6/8/2010. The company called on 6/8/2010 to ask to reschedule as they had so many customers who did not have any a/c. I agreed. We rescheduled for the following Saturday between 8 and 12. I called at 11 on 6/15/2010 to confirm that someone was coming out. They said they had called that morning and because no one had answered they had canceled the appoitment but would have someone out that afternoon between 4 and 6 pm. No one showed that afternoon and as of 6/30/2010 no one has called to apologize and/or reschedule. I have contacted another company. I will not use this company again and I would not recommend it.

My wife noticed our AC system wasn’t blowing cool air one morning so we started looking up air conditioning companies in Las Vegas on Google.com. We called one local company and the guy who came out to the house was in a beat up truck and he looked pretty rough (dirty uniform, etc.). Even though we were in a hurry to get our AC back up and running and the quote was dirt cheap we just didn’t feel comfortable using that company. The next call we made was to Yes, and it was our last. The lady on the phone told me they could have somebody out to our house within the hour, and she was right - within an hour, they sent a guy out to take a look. Unlike the first time, this technician was well dressed, very polite, and he even put on shoe covers before coming inside. He thoroughly explained his diagnosis to us (we needed a new AC unit), patiently explained the options to us, and even showed us how we could add insulation to cut down on our energy bills. Here we are one month later, and low and behold – our energy bill was actually LOWER than the month before (and it’s only gotten warmer!). I’ll be calling these guys back in the future, no doubt.

Got a card in the mail for a water heater flush for $50, so I called them. We had done nothing to our water heater for 10 years, so I felt it would be time. Once the team arrived, they went through our whole house, inspected all plumbing (sinks, showers, toilets, hose bibs, located clean-outs, etc.). It was extensive, probably more of a selling tool than anything else, but I did learn of several items that require watching. I feel that the sales pitch for various items was unrelenting, although not what I'd term "hard sell." I chalked it up to part of the discounted service price. The water heater anode rod was completely dissolved, they quoted a price of $340 to replace it. Not happening on a 10 year old water heater, thank you! The pressure regulator valve also had signs of corrosion and when they did a pressure test it was apparent that the valve was beginning to fail. After some hemming and hawing, we decided to purchase a "package" which included a new water heater, a 10 year warranty and 5 year maintenance program, and a new PRV (pressure regulator valve). We qualify for a $100 rebate from Southwest Gas for the water heater, so the total price comes to $1900. We'd had a quote on a new water heater a few months ago of $1800, but that didn't include the new valve or maintenance contract, and I don't know if he was going to pull a permit. Permits are expensive, a hassle, and one was included with the price. I don't know if the price is good or bad, but I felt that the guys were knowledgeable and that I learned a few things from following them around the house. I have no reason to expect less than good service in the future. One thing I wish hadn't happened: when the younger of the two men tried to check the valve on the tank, he got a face full of hot water--he was not injured, thank God, but the geyser then proceeded to pour out all over the garage carpet. I now have salt residue to clean up, which could have been avoided.

They found a few items that may fail during the summer and I didn't want my 83 year old mother to be without. I see all of the unsatisfied and 'scam' posts on Angie's List so I thought I should go see the parts myself. The guy was kind and knowledgeable and after reviewing the parts I knew that he was acting in my best interest. He also flushed the water heater for free and checked some sort of rod in the tank. Overall good experience. Got a call from the ARS office shortly after repair to ask if I was satisfied.

I heard the radio commercial 'when your hubby can't the yes man can' and called Yes. The operator was kind and knowledgeable, quite surprising for service these days. They said that they could be out at 8 AM the following day. Later that evening they called and confirmed our appointment (impressed) and showed up exactly when they said. The guy was nice looking and friendly and looked over my A/C and plumbing systems. He offered options including upgrading to save on electric bills and since A/C is such a necessity here I decided to go with their recommendations. Best decision I've made in a long time. Great job, good people.
Description of Work: The Yes! men replaced my air conditioning system and water heater in my new (new to me) home in the NW. It is a 14 SEER Amana and a 50 Gal. Bradford White water heater.

They were very good when they came out and did the work for me. I received their middle level service for the water heater which included 6 years of warranty service and some other things too. They were very accommodating and worked well. They did everything and it was fine and that really stood out in my mind. Whatever I had experienced was totally different compared to what I read about them online. I did have a really good experience with them. I called one of their people and informed that they had got poor ratings online and I told them that I couldn’t rate them poorly. I didn’t have any problems at all with them. I was very happy with the way they responded. Somebody came out first to take a look at what was going on. There was someone out after 2 hours after I called to get the work done. I was really surprised. I didn’t have anything else to compare their prices with and I didn’t want to shop around. The price that they charged seemed okay to me. The quality of their work was excellent and they knew what they were doing. Their punctuality and professionalism were good too. I would probably use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: I used the services of Yes! Air Conditioning & Plumbing in the last month and they installed a water heater for me.

They are supposed to check the hot water heater twice a year, but they have not come out. They were supposed to drain my hot water heater in October, but they never came. All they were interested in was getting into my home and checking everything else and up selling everything else. ARS was just interested in getting more money from me. They cut the strap too short on the water heater so I have to replace it if I need to open it. They are not reliable and I would not use them again.
Description of Work: They came out to work the hot water heater due to a service contract.
