ON NOV 18 2011 I HAD A COUPON FOR SYSTEM EVAL FROM YES A/C & PLUMBING THAT I FOUND FROM VALPAK COUPONS. IT MENTIONED THEY WERE W/ HOME DEPOT OR AFFILIATED W/ HOME DEPOT. BEING NEW IN NEVADA I FIGURED THEY MUST BE A GOOD COMPANY BEC THEY ARE W/ HOME DEPOT. SO I CALL THEM TO CHECK MY A/C UNIT. MIND YOU THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG W/ MY A/C. SINCE I JUST BOUGHT THE HOUSE I JUST DECIDED TO HAVE IT CHECKED FOR MAINTENANCE. IT IS NOVEMBER SO YOU DONT USE YOUR A/C. I WAS AWAY FOR 2 MONTHS CAME BACK IN JULY 2012 & THE A/C WAS USED FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE EVALUATION. A BUBBLE STARTED ON THE KITCHEN CEILING NEXT TO THE WALL. BEING IGNORANT I THOUGHT THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE ROOF. I BECAME VERY ILL FOR TWO MONTHS & WAS IN THE HOSPITAL, I WAS READY TO GET SOMEBODY TO LOOK INTO IT BY OCTOBER. THE HANDYGUY WENT UP THE ATTIC & THE PIPES OF THE CONDENSER WERE SEPARATED. ACC TO YES A/C & PLUMBING IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SO THEY WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM BEC PEOPLE COULD HAVE GONE IN THE ATTIC. THEY WERE THE FIRST & LAST THAT WENT UP THERE. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THEM OUT BEFORE BELIEVING THAT THEY ARE AFFILIATED W/ HOME DEPOT.. I HAVE HEARD HORROR STORIES FROM A GENERAL CONTRACTOR ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY WERE CHARGING HIS CUSTOMER. BUT I LEARNED MY LESSON - DO MY HOMEWORK

This company is extremely unethical and dishonest. To say they oversell is a gross understatement. First the plumber came to my house and told me I had major problems and he needed to have his supervisor come over, so they could figure out the best way to fix my serious problem. The actual problem was that the water conditioner broke and as a result small plastic black beads had clogged up the valves and faucet screens throughout the house, significantly reducing water flow. Yes Plumbling told me all valves, toilet parts and water heater had to be replaced. Claimed carbon was throughout my system and the current water has extremely unhealthy. For a while I was convinced that my family's health was at risk, but eventually realized that these guys were scam artists. What tipped me off is that they wanted $280.00 to replace the parts to each toilet tank. I knew the parts couldn't cost more than $20 or $30 and a pro should be able to do this in about 15 minutes so the most this should cost is about $60. At first they wanted $8,800.00 for all the work which included a new water conditioner. They came down to $4,400 without the conditioner. I didn't fall for their pitch and found another plumber to fix my problem for $430.00. That other plumber was Rakeman Plumbing who I also wrote a review about and was exceptionably pleased with their service and honesty. Stay away from YES Plumbing. These guys obviously work on commission and they have no problem scaring the daylights out of you in order to charge outrageous prices. In my case that was 10 times more than what was needed and after reading other reviews they obviously have charged and got a lot more than that from others.
Description of Work: Never had them do any work. They were extremely unethical and dishonest. After realizing that these guys were out to soak me for every penny they could get I sent them on their way. In my case it was 10 times more than was was needed.

When the tech came out told me that my blower motor was bad I had already figured that was the problem. He then asked if I wanted to sit down I asked why he said its a little pricey. He then proceeded to tell me 1,500.00 for the blower motor. I should have gotten a second quote but I figured what the heck I'll give them a shot said ok. Said he had to order it be a couple of days up to a week. They called said part had not come in yet would call when it did waited for a week and a half part finally came in. The same tech came out to install new motor had it hooked up in about a hour a/c blowing cold. Approximately two weeks later same problem I thought, nope now its a hard start relay unit forget the cost of that a/c working good again. About 6 weeks later goes out again same symptoms different problem this time condensor fan motor went out 800.00 for that I know in the middle of summer you just want cold air no matter what the cost. A few weeks after that it went out again this time covered under warranty it was the blower motor again and the tech replaced the hard start switch again. Summer almost over wearther cooling down had a cool morning wife went to turn on heater and nothing. Called yes out again to find out needed new compresser. During the times that the techs came out they had a sales man come out to try and sell me a new unit. I didn't quallify for the second chance credit but also didn't have good enough credit either. When the first sales man came out he gave me a quote of 7,500.00 and would take the money that I have spent on my unit off of that price which to me sounded great. The second sales man came out approximately 3 months after the first and gave me a quote for a smaller unit for 10,000.00 I laughed said you want to put a smaller unit up and charge me three thousand more than the original quote I got. Not once did they give me a quote on a new compressor just a new unit smaller than what I have now. I found a independent through a friend who put a new compressor in for 1,000.00 installed and my a/c works great. With all new parts in now it should last another 10 years. My new a/c guy said he could get me a new a/c unit for a third of the cost yes was going to do it for. There staff is very friendly and courtious I just can't pay there outragious prices.
Description of Work: My A/C had stopped blowing air figured blower motor went out. Had a friend recomend yes to me also hearing the comercials on the radio decided to call them for service. The technician that came out was very nice and courtious told me the blower motor was bad. Don't believe the first person you call always get a second opinion. They replaced my blower motor, hard start switch, condensor fan, and then replaced the blower motor and hard start switch a second time. E

I was trying to get ready for my father to come home from the hospital and I needed the work done that weekend. They were very upfront about being outrageously expensive, but they told me their product was top of the line and I needed the work done, so I went with them. They had to re-do the entire thing because they didn't do it right the first time. The tubs were pulling away from the grout, so they recommended a handyman. The handyman cut through a load baring wall stud and did a horrible job. They put the tub walls up and they were supposed to go under the drywall, but they laid it on top of the drywall; there was water getting under that. They had to then come in and re-frame the drywall. The plumbing and painting part they did is still messed up. They also told me that they wanted to completely replace my sewer system for the price of $22,000; I contacted 2 other plumbers who took a camera in there and said nothing needs to be replaced. I am still dealing with issues and I now have to pay for things that need to be fixed. They are also constantly calling for AC as well as other plumbing work for them to do. I am very unhappy.

Also, they were here doing contract work on our AC. He stopped his work and showed me a proposal for something that was going bad on the equipment. I asked how much, and he quoted me over $2,000.
Description of Work: I have a service contract with them. The work they have done has turned out ok; however, the prices are absolutely exorbitant. They did some work on the washing machine in which they changed the hoses. I had a handyman come out who said he could of charged me 1/3rd of that. They also did some repairs on the water heater, they said it needed. It came to $1,067; I could have gotten a new water heater for what I paid.

I have had no complaints. What's really nice about their service, is when it's time for a check-up to be done they send me a reminder and contact me, which I really appreciate; I continue my service because of that. Overall, I have been pretty satisfied.
Description of Work: I have a service contract with them for plumbing and our HVAC system. They come and they check the hot water heater and the plumbing to make sure there are no leaks and to look over things. There is a part of their company that deals with the HVAC and they come and do the checks in the fall and spring. Also, if any problems develop they will come and take care of those.

Individual from Yes was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. He informed me there was a leak and it was necessary to cut into the ceiling to repair it. He told me he would have a quote later that day. I then had two other companies come out to look at it. In both cases, they told me there was no leak and cutting into the ceiling was the last resort. There was a better solution that did not involve cutting through the ceiling. Later in the day Yes called back and told me they could not quote on the project until AFTER they cut into my ceiling.I have since heard horror stories about Yes. They find problems that do not exist and they over charge. I should have read the reviews on Angie's list before I wasted my time having them come out.

Despite having a scheduled appointment, they called and canceled one hour prior to the appointment. We refused to reschedule since this had been a MAJOR problem with their customer service over the last 3 years.
Description of Work: When we moved to Vegas in 2009, we received a flyer about getting our vents cleaned out by Yes! Air Conditioning. Considering we were moving into a 19 year old house that previously had large dogs we felt it would be a great idea to get the vents cleaned out. We were pleased with the service that we received on this initial visit and paid for a 3 year heating/plumbing inspection and maintenance contract. Boy - what a mistake!! First of all, their plumbing side of the business NEVER kept an initial appointment that they made. They would give you an approximate 2-hour window that they would show up. But, they ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS call within an hour of their arrival time and tell you that they will not be able to make the appointment because "an emergency came up and our technician is not able to make the appointment." There were more than one time where they were not able to make the 3rd or 4th appointment either. Whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE TIME OFF OF WORK for an appointment they make with you unless you have called on an emergency basis. They do not know the meaning of keeping a schedule appointment. Oh - and when you do use their emergency service they definitely will show up and overcharge you through the d*** nose. We had a leaking tub drain on our second floor and water was dripping down into our downstairs bathroom shortly after moving in to the house. Since we were not able to see the leak or knew what was causing it, we called on an emergency basis. They charged us $1300 to cut a hole in our ceiling and repair a bathtub drain that had cracked. My husband and I are not plumbers and probably would have screwed up the job royally, but we got taken to the cleaners on this job nonetheless. Not to mention that they have no ability to repair any structural changes they do - so we also ended up paying another contractor to come in and repair the ceiling and paint at another $400 (excellent quality of work). In each of their plumbing inspections - they told us that we needed to replace every valve inside our house for a total of $2200. While I don't agree we could use some upgrading on the water valves, I am not so sure on the $2200 price tag they seemed to think it would take. Their maintenance contracts they have are their way of coming into your house to drum up additional business and find problems - not to maintain your A/Cs or water heaters. While we had pretty much written off their plumbing team, we initially had great luck with their A/C service. Prior to this last year, they never canceled an appointment and were always professional when they came out to inspect our units. We were happy enough to purchase an entire new system (furnace and A/C unit) for our downstairs. The price of this unit was not the best out there (approx $13,000 for a 4 ton unit), but we are happy with the quality of the product - which is the same as what is sold by Home Depot. Within the last year, we have noticed their A/C service following suit with their plumbing service and not keeping scheduled appointments. This last time they were scheduled to show up and they called, my husband told them to not bother calling back because their service was the worst out there since they cannot manage to keep their appointments as promised (at least they do call to cancel even if it the hour before they are due to show up). Obviously the moron on the phone did not take a direct suggestion to not call back because they called back the next week to reschedule. I explained to them that my husband was very direct the week prior and we wanted to be removed from their phone and mailing list. Despite having their system and having a 10 year warranty on it - we will take our chances and find another quality company that actually values its customers. I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER recommend Yes! to anyone. I am shocked they are even still in business - poor quality, shady business practices and crappy customer service.

Two plumbers arrived, and gave me an estimate to remove and reposition the drain and all of the under-sink pipes (the pipes were fine) at a cost of over $400. The the only work I wanted an estimate on was the removal and repositioning and after haggling, they gave me a price of $200, which included a $29 trip fee. It took less than 15 minutes to complete the task but I was told they don't charge by the hour, but rather by the job. It was a one person job. It seems that they are more interested in up-selling something rather than providing a good customer experience. There is no problem with the workmanship, but I will not use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone due to their sales tactics and pricing.
Description of Work: I needed a sink drain removed, repositioned and sealed since it was leaking slightly. It was a simple job, but I didn't have the right tool to do it. I already had the plumber's putty, and had removed all the connecting pipes.

My air conditioner stopped cooling. I had used Yes for years and called them. Don came out. He looked at the unit, then told me he didn't know whether he could save it. He said the compressor was probably gone, but that there were a couple of things he could try. If they didn't work, I would be out the money and would have to buy a new unit. He replaced the fan motor, which he listed on the bill as "1/4 Cond Motor," for $507. He replaced some related part, which he listed as "Cond Cap," for $215. The service evaluation was $49, so the bill was rising quickly. After he installed the two parts, he came back down and told me they didn't do the trick, that the compressor must be frozen and the unit shot. I wasn't ready to buy a new system, so he came up with another idea, a hard start kit that would give the compressor an extra kick and sometimes can make a balky compressor work. He installed that for another $215, for a total of $981. Then he came down and told me that even the hard start kit couldn't make the compressor work. But, good news: He would sell me a new unit for $9,000. I thought the price ridiculous and said I wouldn't buy anything without checking prices elsewhere. He said wait a minute and called his boss, who had some kind of offer I can no longer remember; I think he might have been willing to give me credit for the money I had already spent. I still said no. He called his boss again. More promises. I still said no. When he was finally convinced that I would not buy a new unit and was ready to leave, Don said, look, I'm a guy who likes to fix things, and I hate to leave you like this. There's one more thing that just might work. He went back up on the roof. He was down again within two minutes, and Presto! The unit worked! He went away. That was four months ago. The unit is still working fine. I will never call Yes again.

. I just moved here. Got a flyer from a vendor at the local Home Depot for a discounted A/C check up. Scheduled it on the spot. Tech. showed up about 45 minutes after calling saying they were on the way. Did all the checks, said compressor had a couple of bad capacitors but "might" be OK for a while. Showed me a picture on his phone of burnt wiring (might be my unit, might not). Pretty soon the sales guy shows up. They both try to "up sell" and fix/replace my unit now. Quoted $8-10,000. I have an 1,100 sq. ft. downstairs condo. 2 1/2 ton unit would be required. Told them to get back to me with a couple of different bids, High end units vs. low end units. Haven't heard back since. BTW these guys are the sub contractors for Home Depot whose in store display promotes Trane and Rheem (two of the best, most reliable). ARS didn't recommend EITHER one. Promoted a lesser known (cheaper) brand. I even went back to customer service at Home Depot and gave them the short version of this story. Was curious IF they were the sole source HVAC contractor. Customer service called the 800 number that Home Depot advertised for HVAC. Direct to ARS. Wasn't interested in talking to them. On my grading system the service done (check up) was excellent. It was offset by the price gouging of the service (replacement) they were trying to sell me.

I would never hire them again. They are very unprofessional, unreliable and they would not take my calls. The supervisor that was responsible for handling this would not take my calls. However, the office did send someone out to clean the air ducts the next day. Because they refused to cover it with their insurance, the owner had to pay out of pocket to have everything cleaned and taken care of.
Description of Work: They installed insulation in the attic in a property of ours. The installers removed 2 air vents. They didn't turn off the AC after the work. The insulation was then sucked into the open vents. They incorrectly repaired the vents with duct tape. The owner of the property ended up being covered by insulation that was blown out of all AC vents throughout the house while he was asleep at night. When I called this company to respond to this and take care of the problem it took them 2 days to come out. The insulation had 30% fiber glass in it. We had to have a hazardous material unit come out to clean the area. The company refused to take 100% responsibility for this situation. They are actually blaming the owner for it because of an AC cover that was in the attic that they knew about. It was just a huge mess.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. THe technician who replaced all my plumbing fixtures neglected to put the clothes washer drain hose back in the drain. DISASTER ensued. They paid for drying out my house, but I had to replace some carpeting at my own expense. A couple of years later I signed up for a special deal on AC service at Home Depot, not realizing that YES! was going to do the work. The technician gave the units a very not-thorough going over and then declared the one of my units needed over $200 worth of coolant. I demurred and had no trouble all last summer. Just now I have had one of Angie's A-rated companies do the check up (for much more money, I admit) and there proved to be no missing coolant after a full summer of AC! These people are not worth it!

There was no problem with the new installation (not at that cost!). The problems began with the follow-up maintenance. Once they started coming back for the bi-annual maintenance they looked for every opportunity to "fix" something wrong. The first follow-up year they drained the Water Heater, free of charge until they "discovered" a corroded sensor that cost $250 to replace. The next service they discovered accumulated dust in the ducts and recommended cleaning. When I told the Technician this was done by them only 6 months ago he explained how they don't do business with that sub anymore and would advise their office of the problem. Never heard back from them on that again. Well, the straw that broke the camel's back happened today on a maintenance call when the Technician shows me a burnt wire he claims occurred from an arcing problem because the unit vibrates and "that's why we come out to look at it once a year". So he offers to "rewire the unit" for $213 but the contactor also needs to be replaced because he doesn't trust it and says the unit is unsafe to operate, cost is $221, which includes a "free" replacement of the burnt wire. Now the wire looks like it's going to cost at most $15.00 and I say, if the unit is only three years old when did the workmanship guarantee expire and since your company looked at it every year for the last three years how come it wasn't tightened during the last maintenance? So to the first point he says he doesn't set the pricing and to the last point he says workmanship is only guaranteed for two years. They have an overall C rating on Angie's List but in my opinion they don't deserve a D and that's just based on the lack of professionalism and the "up-sell" approach of their Technician's...this is an instilled corporate culture and I'd rather do business with a firm with integrity even if I end up paying more!
Description of Work: This company has been under a service contract for HVAC since we moved into this house over 7 years ago. For the first 4 years they provided maintenance twice a year. The HVAC system in this 10 year old house was improperly installed by the Builder, apparently the blower and thermostat was installed on one of the Air Handler's on the wrong side of the unit, causing the unit to overheat in winter and shut down periodically (especially during long cold spells). Also, the units were undersized by the Builder so they never adequately cooled the West facing rooms. After 4 years of putting up with this situation we replaced the entire system (2 Air Handlers and two Condenser Units), cost over $20,000.00. The job included complete duct cleaning.

It took them four hours to complete the job and were very professional. They did great work but were a little pricey.
Description of Work: They replaced my hot water heater and put in a water filtration system.

The plumber was at my house for about 30 minutes, the he replaced the shower cartridge, the bill was $277, he said I was lucky he didn't have to tear into the tile to fix it, but I didn't fell very lucky about the price. He had a book with various services listed that he used to get the cost, it isn't based on an hourly rate.
Description of Work: The plumber replaced the part that turns the water on and off and conects to the handle in the shower.

They check and repair my system since purching my previous company. They do good work and are friendly. However they seem to always be trying to sell you additional service. They should let the technicians service items and stop the big sell.

I had to contact them, and during my initial call the operator told me she had no record of our purchasing this contract. Fortunately I had all the paperwork and was able to fax it to them the next day, but it was irritating to be told I was worng and then give a sales pitch for exactly what I had already paid for. We probably paid about $600 more than necessary for the initial purchase of the water heater from ARS, discovered after the fact. This was a poor decision on our part, based on a high pressure salesman the day ARS came out for their discounted safety inspection. As part of the sale, the guy discovered that our pressure relief valve wasn't holding pressure adequately, and needed replacing as well. About a week later we discovered that the original valve had been purposely set high, and the new one had to be readjusted back to the original setting. So the scenario painted by the salesman/plumber that we were facing floods and doom if we didn't act immediately was absolutely exaggerated re the water heater, and just plain wrong about the valve. Of course we're now wary and do not plan to make another purchase from ARS again. Insofar as the maintenance program goes, as long as you stick to your guns and turn down all attempts to upsell, it's fine. Guy was pleasant, on time, did what he was supposed to do and gave me good information about our system. No complaints about him, just know your prices before you have ARS come into your home for an initial visit.
Description of Work: This is the third visit by ARS under a 5-year service contract. It's supposed to be a safety inspection and maintenance which includes draining the water heater, inspecting the anode rod, and going through the house to check the condition of all plumbing fixtures. I had to contact them, and during my initial call the operator told me she had no record of our purchasing this contract. I had all the paperwork, but it was irritating to be told I was wrong and then given a sales pitch for exactly what I had already paid for. We probably paid about $600 more than necessary for the initial purchase, which was a poor decision on our part after a high pressure "safety inspection." In addition, the discovery that we had a pressure relief valve that was failing turned out to be wrong. The brand new one we bought along with the water heater had to be readjusted back to original levels a week after installation, so the scenario painted by the salesman/plumber that we were facing floods and doom if we didn't act immediately was absolutely exaggerated re the water heater, and just plain wrong about the valve. Of course we're now wary and do not plan to make another purchse from ARS again.

I found that they were very fast. Where I live it's really hot so when your air conditioning goes out, it's a big deal. I called them and they had somebody out within two hours. The gentleman was very nice and professional. He had me up and running within an hour and a half of getting here. I was very, very pleased with everything.
Description of Work: The motor in my air conditioner fan went out and they came out and fixed it.

I called Carl's Air Conditioning and they arrived within the next two hours. They replaced the blower motor and my air conditioner has worked beautifully since. However, Carl's technician informed me the Yes! man had failed to replace the panels and reattach the wiring in the attic. It's been a few days since all this went down and I'm still waiting to talk with a Yes! Supervisor. In the meantime, Carl's Air COnditioning has called to inquire how the system is working adn sent me a receipt from my credit card purchase to verify to me that all is legitimate.
Description of Work: My advise to anyone considering Yes! A/C for their air conditioning needs - Say NO to Yes! I've hired Yes! in the past for some plumbing fixes. My experience was good, but expensive. I called them again when one of our A/C units stopped working. I was at work, but my sons were home and I had advised them of what needed to be done. (A friend of my son, who has A/C experience, checked out our system and advised us we needed a blower motor for the unit..) Brent from Yes! was on time within the window I was given. He decided we needed a new a/c unit at $7,000.00 or he could do a "quick" fix and put in a new blower motor. My husband and I, through telephone conference, decided to do the "quick" fix and have him install the motor. Brent said he wanted to pass on doing this job because we would be calling him in a short while and blaming the company for not doing the job correctly(?). He left, but not before taking a check for $98.00 which was the cost of giving us suggested repairs that needed to be done on both units. I had called for the repair of one unit. The thermostat that he indicated needing replacement, needed an easy battery replacement and a button pushed to get it running again. I guess that bit of advise cost me $49.00! The second repair suggestion, for the one I called about, was for an electronic control board to be replaced in the attic (and/or a new unit). At 100+ degrees that day I was surprised that he left since we told him our choice of repair.
