It is an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I paid an extra $100. Originally I just wanted him to change some cables that came off and then he suggested that new wheels on the garage were due and would be helpful. Seemed like the right thing to do so I went ahead with it.

Appointment at my home was scheduled with Western Door and Gate for bid on providing and installing a new garage door. Within the two hour time frame given by the company, the representative did not show up or call. I had to take time off from work to be at home - needless to say, they will not be getting any business from me.

He lubricated the springs and rollers, tightened the springs. As a result the door is much more quiet when opening.

Arrived onetime. Elgin, the technician, examined the door and hardware and motor. He found several worn and broken parts which he replaced. He lubricated all the appropriate hinges and rollers. He examined the motor and made some adjustments to the chain pulley, which made for a very quiet operation when activated . His work was excellent. He installed an outside remote keypad. He tested everything and explained what and why he was doing it. It was evident to me that Elgin knew the garage door business. I would use this company again, if necessary.

Company showed up on time. I was shocked with how quickly yet professionally the work was done. Kevin had all the right tools for the job and left the worksite clean.

Kevin was awesome. He showed up before the prescribed time for the estimate and for the actual work. Work was of high quality and prices were great. He gave us a great prices and was not pushy for any add-ons. We would definitely use again and would highly recommend to our friends of their service.

1. New Openers with Liftmaster Elite with smartphone control, internet ability to check status and open and shut. It also has an automatic close after a period of time you set. Battery back up in case of 100% power outage. Belt driven, very quiet! I did this because in case of black out, garage is our main entry/exit point. We have interior locks on all other doors, so getting in even with key is not possible. 2. New Springs - I don't think I would order these and install them my self, however, it was done professionally and quickly. Springs can last for 1 year or 30 years, however, I just wanted to replace these 3. Door Rollers - Had steel rollers and they replaced them with nylon and ball bearing ones. Very quiet and does not wear down like the metal ones. 4. Weatherstripping - On the bottom that weatherstripping flattens due to heat and weight. They installed a foam insert to these to have them keep their shape and to prevent the water seepage. Danny and Mike were quick, professional, allowed me to stay and watch and bug them. I enjoyed watching their process. Amanda handling the service dates and scheduling was attentive and informative. Matthew handled the sales process and was very professional and responsive. I really like this company.

Company sent Matthew out to trouble shoot a driveway gate that was not operating. He pulled apart the housing panels and pulled out the wire bundle. Matthew said the unit could not be fixed on the spot as the whole area needed to retrenched in order to run new wires, Matthew said he would send us an estimate. Matthew left the two units without their panels, the wires exposed to the weather and lost the screws to the panels. A few days latter, after calling numerous times, I received a quote of $476.00 to repair the problem. Matthew advised that the quote could at least double if the units needed a new mother board. I found the loose wire nut and reattached the panels, located a breaker that had tripped and reset that. This unit works just fine now no thanks to Western Door. These guys misdiagnosed the problem and did more damage than they fixed. I would not recommend them....

They did a very fine job. I ordered the garage door opener from Sears and they have subcontracted with Western for garage doors. I was extremely pleased.

Installation went fine, then after one year came preventive maintenance agreement contract for $180/quarter. First inspection was done on 8/10/2009. It is now 2/25/2010 and no one has been back to perform the 2nd inspection (should have been done 3 months after first one.) I called Western 10 days ago and they asked me if I wanted to schedule an inspection! They obviously don't have a tickler file for scheduled maintenance. If you purchase a preventive maintenance contract from them be prepared to follow up yourself every quarter. I haven't received a call back yet to inform me of when they are going to perform their maintenance. Will not repurchase this contract after it expires.
