+ -1 moreHow'd it go? HORRIBLE, I CAN'T GET ANYONE TO CALL ME BACK, THAT IS NOT A GOOD SIGN OF A SO CALLED GOOD COMPANY!!! You know people don't just call up one day and decide to see how much a thing costs and it not be for a very good reason, we are moving and need estimates and info. so we can make a well informed decision! So when a company that has such high marks comes along you think to your self that this might be the one to handle your fine household goods and not have them destroyed by the time they reach their destination and at a reasonable price! But when no one calls you back there is not a lot of confidence to be had in such a company and one has to wonder how they stay in business with such bad work ethics.
Description of Work: What did the provider do? NOTHING!!!! I called back in the beginning of feb. and was told Mark handled moves over seas, and was given his phone number. I called him he said he was with a customer and would call me back in about an hour. I thought sure you will, but he did, so I gave him all the info. on our move and he said give me a day or so and I will get back to you with the prices. So I waited and waited and waited, and I called back the guy who answered the phone said I will have Mark call you back so once again I waited and waited and waited and NO PHONE CALL!!!! So I don't see how this company can get such high marks when no one calls back!

Red Carpet movers which is a company I found on Angie's List, responded to my call promptly, arranged to pack out my apt, showed up, and were completely professional. My apt was packed cautiously, walls were not banged, furniture was handled with care and I could not have been happier. The person who answered the phone said it was after hours (Not a problem) and that they would leave a message for someone to get back to me the following day (11-13-15). It is now after 11 AM the following day, and I have not heard back from anyone from this company. The easiest way to lose a sale is to not call an interested person back.......

+ -1 moreThere was a bad hiccup in getting my service, but the owner John made it right by sending out 2 top notch crews supervised by Kevin. Kevin was a veteran in this business and knew the best ways to maneuver big items so that nothing was scratched. I even watched him provide constructive instructions to his team members on the best way accomplish something. It was a little pricey but these guys worked from 0900-1930 with only a 30 min break for lunch. Kevin and his crew always asked where something should put. It was a pleasure dealing with these people.

+ -1 moreJohn, Mario and Troy packed us on one day. They did an excellent job and worked non stop. The next day John and Mario loaded our furniture and boxes and drove to California to unload the following day. They worked extremely hard and were very customer service oriented. I would highly recommend them again. We did a partial move with a company called Oasis and it was horrible, so I really did my research. Red Carpet was highly recommended via friends, storage companies where we purchased boxes and had great reviews on Yelp and Angies List so we chose them and very glad we did. Nothing was damaged and everything went so smoothly as promised. Thank you guys so much!

+ -1 more2 clean, polite, professional, hard working, and efficient young men unloaded our personal belongings from trailer into our 3 bedroom home and back yard. Lots of items were falling over and stacked in dangerous way in trailer yet these guys got the job done without damaging anything, without complaint, and without incident. In retrospect the only bad thing was me not just getting out of the way and letting them take care of everything. They really knew what they were doing. However they never took issue with me sticking my nose into the job and were quick to ask whenever not 100% sure where something should go. We will move again if we are fortunate enough to not have life cut short, and when we do, whether it be a mile, 3000 miles, or off the continent we will not do any searching or getting quotes, we will just contact Red Carpet moving for loading on whatever companies truck, trailer or cargo container we use.
Description of Work: Unloaded an ABF trailer that was fully loaded and poorly loaded by another company in Colorado.

I'm an eighty-year old widow, somewhat handicapped in my ability to move about easily with a bad reaction to high temps and had never had to handle a move on my own before. I was stressed to the max and certainly not at my best for either noticing and/or catching potential problem areas. Moreover, I had had very little time in the vacant condo to work out how I wanted things to be placed. Final straw...even after extensive downsizing (donations/junking) I still had too many leftovers from a four bedroom home to fit comfortably into my new two-bedroom space. Most at my request...one arbitrarily...a sizeable number of items...boxes and furniture...therefore had to be left in my garage. I honestly believe that the men did their best to follow what directions I did give them, but after placing several key items of furniture, they were finally just putting things/boxes down wherever there was room. I'm specifically unhappy about two things: they did not unwrap an antique chest requiring special handling before putting it into place. Moreover, my packers the previous day had placed my (personally) previously-wrapped, extensive art collection into and filling one large box (perhaps 3' x 4' x 3') which they called a "slider". They told me that it would be unpacked at the other end of the move and the box returned to Red Carpet...no charge for the box. That box is now sitting unpacked in my garage. My fault for not checking the garage...probably. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of assuming that it would be done if only to retrieve the box. Long and short and in a nutshell, I'm not very happy about my move, especially with the way in which my unpacking was handled, and I did not feel that my two movers were really concerned about what they were leaving for me to cope with when they departed my premises.
Description of Work: See immediately previous review for Red Carpet's packing services. This was day two of a two-day move. I had specifically asked for Albert and Chris who packed me to return and move me. That didn't happen. Martin and (I think) Carey/Casey? arrived early for our 8 AM appointment which made me unhappy for two reasons so perhaps we got started on a bad footing. They were courteous and polite. They packed everything up and they moved me to my new address on Stephanie Street.unpacked me and left. The entire process took approximately five hours.

+ -1 moreOnce they were on my premises, Albert and Chris did everything that I'd asked for and more: my antique Biedermeyer chest beautifully wrapped and secured with special instructions written on the packaging on how to handle it; oil paintings padded and carefully wrapped; special dishpack for my Doulton china; petroglyphs carefully packaged. And they were warm and friendly, truly a pleasure to deal with. The A ratings here are entirely theirs.
Description of Work: This was day one of a two-day move for me, and I've decided the only way I can write an accurate review of Red Carpet's services to me is to handle it in two separate reviews (second one to follow immediately). If that doesn't fit Angies List's format, I'm sorry. I initially contacted the company by email via the List. I explained that I was downsizing from a 4-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom condo, had several areas that would need special attention, specifically oil paintings/fine china/a collection of stone art-created petroglyphic reproductions and other artwork and requested a walk through. Initially I was told that was not possible (my house too small) but eventually it happened. Marc's recommendation to me was to have packers come first (at a higher hourly rate with a paid minimum time) to handle the problem areas and then make the move on the following day. I realize now that I should have asked for some sort of package-deal arrangement. I didn't...my fault so I can't fault the company there. What I can and do fault them for was confirmation of a set-in-stone 8 AM arrival time that didn't happen. I made an initial agreement on the time. Saturday before my Monday date, their scheduler Phil called to confirm the appointment...for 11AM. I explained that was wrong; that I had made other commitments for the day; he **agreed** to keep to our original schedule. I started calling at 9AM. I was given what I now feel (based on some subsequent conversation with the movers) was erroneous information/excuses. Eventually, I was offered a small discount "for my inconvenience". When Albert and Chris arrived at 11AM, they showed me paperwork for THAT time. Anyway, they did an absolutely superb job with my packing needs and, since I hadn't counted on their skilled professionalism, finished well before the contracted time ran out. Albert tried to get me an adjustment with no luck. Before they left, I made a point to them (perhaps I should have called Red Carpet too) that I would REALLY APPRECIATE their telling management that **I would like to have them them back again to move me he following day**. Regretfully, that didn't happen.

+ -1 moreAfter a mix up with the scheduling of manpower, all went well, Martin and his buddy, (cannot remember his name) worked tirelessly to load our heavy items onto the truck, even handled my wife's treadmill, which she was very worried about.they filled the truck, drove to our new home, approx five miles away and unloaded our items and placed in the various rooms of my wife's choosing, Al this in three hours. Very proffesional . Thanks guys.

+ -1 moreTwo movers and a truck arrived ready to go to work, taking time to go over what they would provide, and what our cost would be (by the hour, 3 hr minimum, billed 1/4 hr after), all of which had already been explained to me by phone when I made the appointment. Once the preliminaries were done, these two men got after the job at hand, non-stop, hardly stopping for a drink of water! They were a great team to watch, as they worked to load the truck with our belongings. They were careful with everything, plastic wrapping anything that could open or come apart, padding all the furniture to avoid damage. We had already packed everything we could, and labeled each box for where it would go, then put stickers up to identify that room in the new home. Once these guys got the scheme, they literally rolled out a red carpet to protect our new carpets, and went non-stop unloading the truck. Everything ended up where we needed it to go, asking questions as they went if they were unsure, and unwrapped everything they had wrapped up. NOTHING was damaged, these men were professional and courteous and extremely hard working. I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Red Carpet Movers sent 2 excellent people and an appropriate sized, well appointed truck to move us from one 3br address to another in Las Vegas. They were easy to schedule, and were able to change the move date for us when our needs changed, they arrived ready to work when scheduled making our move go smoothly. They also offered us a discounted rate as an Angie's List subscriber.

+ -1 moreThese guys are good! We have a lot of stuff and Sal, Csaba, Kevin and someone whose name I didn't get (sorry guy) were efficient and worked their butts off. They had to take apart a large desk/hutch combo and put it back together, plus take a hot tub out of a not so easy backyard (just grass and steps), which made the move a bit longer than expected, but workable. The house we left had awkward stairs and they were very careful with our furniture, including antiques. They asked where boxes and furniture went, which helped us a lot and made for an quick off-load. Plus we got a discount by getting their name and great ratings off Angie's List. We would use this moving company again because they were so professional.

First I had a painter problem and had to move the "move date" back which was no problem at all, just a simple phone call which was handle correctly and quickly. They called the day before to make sure everything was set. The movers arrived on time and worked their butts off packing and loading the truck. Not one complaint and they didn't use any foul language. Then unpacked into a two story with a roof top deck and again they work really hard climbing those steps. We are really happy with the service! They weren't the cheapest estimate we got but definitely worth the money we paid and actually finished quicker than estimated so saved some money anyway.
