The service went very well. My fairly new desktop computer was giving me problems and had frozen up on me. Compudoc showed up promptly and serviced the computer. He fixed my computer and installed a program to prevent future problems with the computer. I was asked several times if I needed anything more during his visit. He was very receptive to my needs and I was very satisfied with the service. If I need help in the future, I will be calling Compudoc.

When I called to set the appointment, the number I called was not the correct number to contact the individual who would be coming out to work on my laptop.  I had to call the guy's cell phone direct.  Left a message.  When I did not hear from him, I called the main number again.  I eventually was able to talk to the person directly.  We set an appointment for the following week.  When the tech was about 1-3/4 hrs. late, I called the office.  The tech then returned my call to inform me that his appointment was taking longer than anticipated.  A new appointment was scheduled for the next day.  Unfortunately, he was once again running over an hour late.  He showed up about two hours after the designated appointment.  My husband was watching something on the news and the tech was paying as much attention to the TV as we were, thus making the time spent cleaning up my laptop far longer, which cost me an additional $99.  While my laptop needed the service, I would rate this individual tech as lacking in customer service.  I would not use this company again.

During the first visit, the provider spent two hours performing work that could have been completed in one hour. I had a $49 coupon and realized that he stretched the job into two hours so he could bill  $85 for the second hour.  He diagnosed that he needed to replace a fan in my Apple computer.  He ordered the part immediately and told me he would be back in one week to install the new fan.  He also looked at my Dell  because I was getting flooded with ads.  Within five minutes, he removed a malware program.  He billed me for two hours work and I paid in advance for the Apple fan.  It took three phone calls and three and a half weeks to get him back to complete the job.  He charged another $85 when he returned.

Matt was tied up during our initial appt. and called to let me know.  Since I had prior commitments for the evening, he said he'd come at the end of the day the following Monday.  I did not hear from him again.  I made contact again a few weeks later and he came the next day.  As usual, he is very knowledgeable and determined the problem right away.  PC is working well with no noise.  Replacing the case fan rectified the problem.  Matt also answered several questions in a fashion that was easy to understand.  I recommend his services.

My computer had a meltdown and Matt was able to restore my data. I've used Compudoc (and Matt) previously and am always pleased with the outcome.

I brought in my Sony Vaio.  They said they would take a look.  They asked if I cared about losing passwords or data I told them no.  I was not afraid of losing passwords or data.  I use the computer to chat with my sister in NH. We chat and play cards online with each other using Yahoo and Pogo and until October there were no problems.  They said fine.  I dropped it off on October 27th they said it might not be ready until Friday.  I said no problem take your time.
They called me and said that they installed a 2 gigabyte ram chip in place of the existing 1 gigabyte ram chip and the computer was running fine.  I said okay, how much would it be.  Chip was $55 and according to my signed paper the work would be $55 as I was referred by Angie's List.  They said $75 until I reminded them about the Angie's List offer.
They called Friday, October 31, and stated my computer would not be ready until Monday.  On Monday they said it would be ready Tuesday, November 4.  On Tuesday they called and informed me they could not get my Sony Vaio laptop back together and they would not spend any more time on it and offered me a lap top that would be comparable.  I went to their location and their shop and was told the following:  "Sony booby traps their laptops."   I did not accept his explanation that Sony makes an inferior product.  Then he stated that they thought I needed it back right away; I reminded him I said  to take his time.  He said with more time he could put it back together.  I gave him ten business days.  He said it would be ready by November 14th, ten business days would be the 16th of November.
They called on November 11th to say it was ready.  I was out of town.  When I called back I informed them I would be in on Friday afternoon to pick it up.  When I arrived they were having internet connection issues.  When they got online he opened a web page and Yahoo chat.  It was not tested to see if it could do more than that.
It would not function at my home.  My internet connection is fine.   My Sony would not perform even when connected directly to the modem.  It didn't recognize my own software, my microphone was not usable.  My keyboard is warped.  I have pictures.
They did not do anything I asked.  Their solution was to open a computer they could not put back together.   Compudoc denies stating they could not put it back together and would not spend more time on it.  Compudoc insists they are the best technicians in the valley, if that were true why did you open a Sony computer you say is not designed to be worked on by non Sony technicians?  They assign blame to everyone, my computer, my internet.
Compudoc wanted me to drop everything and come right over so they could prove they had done their job.  Yes, my computer will connect.  It won't do more than that.  I understand the $55 chip is in my computer.  I can't be refunded for that, but for their labor; they had it for three weeks and didn't correct my stated issues.  I expect a refund for the labor.
They lack professionalism and customer service skills.  I would not recommend this company.  They do not listen, they assume that because I am a 55 year old woman I have no idea about what a megahertz is.  Well I do.  I found their arrogance and condescension intolerable when not backed up by their alleged technical acumen.
Response from Compudoc Computer Repair
"Hello I am Gareth Spicer the owner, I personally worked on your laptop. I have 21 years professional computer repair experience, and have been repairing computers longer than anyone in Las Vegas. Sony laptops are incredibly difficult to work on because the parts are very very small. 99% of our work gets returned to the customer , the same day or next day. Your laptop was a challenge to put back together, but we did, and yes, yours took longer than most.I personally checked everything, and everything worked well. Tony the technician that was there when you came to pick up,even took the time to show you that everything was working before you left (INCLUDING the internet). I know this because I viewed the security camera footage. We have never had a problem helping customers with problems after customers pick up. It happens from time to time, no big deal. We simply ask that you return to the store and we will sit with you as long as it takes and fix whatever is wrong. no extra charge, no hassle. Its been this way for over 20 years. Thats why most customers that read all of our reviews will see we have over 99.6% satisfaction rate. I was there at my shop yesterday when you called and talked to Casey. He put you on speakerphone, and you were screaming down the phone at him, all he wanted to do was help you. Casey, even remained cool, and never raised his voice once, he is very quiet person, and avoids confrontation, and just sat there and took it. Ive helped thousands customers over the phone free of charge all of the time, its part of my job. You said you were returning Wednesday. If you want us to help you, return with a calm demenor, and you wont even have to say much. Just simply show us whats wrong, and it will be fixed in no time at no additional cost. If you return on an abusive tirade , then youll be asked to leave very quickly. We stand behind our work during and after, but we do not tolerate verbal abuse, not ever. Bottom line is, its possible there were things we may have overlooked , but when you called all you wanted to do is scream down the phone, that gets nothing fixed, and we wont help you with that kind of attitude. Come in on Wednesday, calm and collected, and youll be treated kindly , respectfully, and your computer will get fixed free of charge, with a smile. Gareth Spicer. Owner."

I contacted Compudoc and they gave me Matt Lopez s number. I contacted Matt and we set up a service date. Matt showed up promptly and got to work. He schooled me on how the printer worked and showed me how I could use even my iPad to print. I would use him coupon or not . Very nice and knew what he was doing.

I went into the shop on South Jones and had a very pleasant experience! Casey did all the troubleshooting and fix while I was there. These guys are extremely knowledgeable, willing to go over everything with you and made suggestions to improve my laptops performance. Casey found that it was a virus causing the problem and he went about fixing it while I waited. I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I learned more in the 40 minutes that I was there than I have learned about computers in a long time. I recommend this company without reservation.

My desktop PC running Windows 7 had slowed to a crawl and some of my applications were not loading properly. Co-Owner Matt Lopez called to tell me he was running a little late for my appointment because he needed to help another customer he was with. When he arrived, Matt did everything I hoped he would do, and more. I know a fair amount about computers, but his knowledge was beyond anything I could dream of. He cleaned up my registry files; analyzed and made recommendations on programs not needed in my startup file; made sure my PC had not been infected by any viruses, etc. Along the way, he explained everything he was doing in a patient, cordial manner, and answered all my questions without hesitation. Near the end of his visit, we thought I might need to replace one of my two internal hard drives because we were getting a "bad memory block" message; but his detailed troubleshooting finally determined that the problem was with my Western Digital external backup drive, which will cost me relatively little to replace.

I would recommend this vendor and his services to anyone, and will not hesitate to use CompuDoc again if the need arises. In fact, I like to have my computers custom-built for me and serviced by the company that builds them, and I expect to use Matt and his company for this purpose when I am ready for a new PC.
