Compudoc Computer Repair

This is a revised review on Compudoc Computer Repair. My issues with "coupons and such" and should have been brought to the attention of Angie's List directly and certainly did no treflect on the service provided, Matt was on time, he was able to get our computer back in working order and explain to my husband what had happened and how to eliminate the problems in the future, Would I use them again? In a heartbeat!!

He was professional and explained what he did. He also worked quickly and didn't charge me for the total time it took for the program to defrag.

It was a very professional encounter and everything now works well.

My experience went okay. The service ended up costing more than what I had purchased the deal for. The staff was knowledgeable and I was pleased with the outcome if the service.

I appreciated the Angie's List Deal of the Day coup which, along with many positive reviews, prompted me to call CompuDoc. Amazingly, Matt was finishing work in my area and actually arrived to provide his services shortly after my call. Matt is very knowledgable and got right down to business. He is also as polite as he is professional. I will admit that I was surprised my machine's issues required 2 1/2 hours of his attention, but most PC problems just boggle my mind. The only negative was that it took three weeks instead of the promised three days to get my license applied by him for the new anti virus program he installed. On the plus side, yesterday Kaspersky failed to address four Exploit malware problems and Matt was graciious to provide a quick tutorial on the phone that allowed me to get rid of them. (Thank you, Matt!)

I’m still having the same problem but it may have been my fault. He was showing different things at the same time and I’m not particularly computer literate. I hired them to come in and go over my computer with me and he was good at that but the problem I’m still having with my computer is still there. Their price is expensive.

Computer is running fine at present, no interruption with popups.

My laptop would shut down within 2 minutes of starting it - so I called CompuDoc. They told me to drop it off and that I would get a call the next day with a diagnosis. The fee to diagnose is $55, but that fee is waived if you choose to have the repair done. The next day, I was told that the fan had seized up and that it would take 2 hours at $75 an hour, plus the cost of the fan to repair it. The price was a bit shocking to me as that is more than the company I work for charges for a union journeyman carpenter! I did a search online and figured out that they mark up the parts 333% - quite a hefty mark up (I'm accustomed to about 40%). The repair was completed in the time frame promised.

He fixed my machine,loaded carbonite backup and returned my machine in top condition!!I recommend this service enthusiatically.

Matt was pleasant and efficient. My husband was about ready to toss our computer. Matt fixed all the problems we had and my husband now loves our computer! I felt that Matt was honest, fair and competent.

Mat was a tad late but called to let me know. Great service. Was in and out in 30 minutes and thanks to Angies list coupon I saved $15. Highly recommend.

I bought the AG's list deal one day and made an appointment the next by calling Compudoc. I was able to make an appointment immediately and it was for the next day. All in all, a very quick turnaround. Matt Lopez came out at the appointed time. I told him of the situation. My computer was extremely slow. It's about 5 years old and I'm not ready to invest in a new one. I really needed to see what I could do to fix it; even if it meant I needed to spend some cash. It took about 20 minutes to assess the situation. Then he ran about an hour and a half's worth of diagnostics and drilled down to the problem. He also felt that my computer didn't have enough memory so he installed 1 GB on the spot (I have a Mac and he didn't have a mac version of the GB but the one he had was fine). Now my computer is like new! I am SO much more efficient in my everyday computing. That includes internet, word docs, itunes, calendaring plus much more! I am super psyched. Thanks Matt and Compudoc!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. It was great that he came to the house and I didn't have to take my computer somewhere else.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was excellent. We are very satisfied.

Everything went well. My computer is back up and running. He was close to 2 hours late for the appointment and went over the 1 hour so I owed an additional $35. The only thing I didn't like was when I asked about a warranty, he was kind of stand offish about it instead of giving a yes or no answer.

I wouldn’t go back to them. I couldn’t tell what they did. It came back the same as it went in.

Matthew Lopez arrived on time and immediately started. Asked a bunch of questions about what I wanted, wished for, and needed. He loaded drivers, Windows Live Mail and two Cox accounts; installed printer and updated the driver. Transferred messages, favorites, address book, and missing Ethernet. This is only what I understood, he did so much more to ensure my computer experience would be enjoyable. Mr. Lopez was extremely professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. He will definitely be called upon to repair the other computer next month.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it turned out just fine; I am very pleased. They were punctual, friendly and did their job well.

The tech arrived on time, explained what the issues were with my shut-down problems, and removed the software that was causing my computer not to shut down properly. He also installed a different anti-virus program than the one I was using, as well as a defrag program. While I was pleased that my computer was repaired, I wasn't especially happy that the tech did more than what I had asked him to do without checking with me first, especially as that ran into extra time, which meant the overall cost was greater than the "big deal" price. I would have preferred that he ask if I wanted the additional work performed beforehand. That being said, the work was done well, and if and when I need my computer worked on again, I would use this company but inform the tech not to go "above and beyond" before asking if I want extra work performed.

He determined the hard drive was not bad and would need to clean computer Back to original state. When my husband picked up computer there was a note stating The system did not have Microsoft office. I had given him all the disks for the system but Microsoft office was not reinstalled. The whole reason for needing system fixed was for kids to do school work.

Technician Matt arrived promptly at agreed time. Courteous and professional. Easy to work with. Appeared very competent. I will call h9im again, and refer others to him.

I dropped it off to be looked at. They called and said it was ready to be picked up a couple of days later. Their diagnostics didn't discover much, but it did run a little faster.

The service was great. My computer’s down because he told me that he fixed it the best he could, but I have to buy a new one, and then I am going to have him come by again. So, everything is fine. I paid more than the $49 big deal because I had another hour, but if you went another hour, they give you a discount. He did a good job. Everything was A+ and we were happy with everything. He came out one day after I bought the big deal, and I would recommend him to friends and whoever.

Was able to get same day service
