It was awesome. Jon discovered one major problem right away and guessed that was what was causing the leak. He didn't even charge for the visit because we decided to see if fixing that first would work before going into the walls. Elvis came the next day and fixed the problem and the shower is working perfectly now-no leaks and better pressure than ever. More than fair pricing, professional and accurate. I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: John came out first to detect the leak and then Elvis replaced parts and fixed it the next day.

I thought I had a pool leak in the pipes, but then service man "Eddie" found it was a stuck open automatic water fill system. This saved me much money and is a job I can do myself. It was stupid not to check the fill system myself.
Description of Work: I had high water bill and pure water; called to check for leakage.

I was not satisfied with the service. The guy knew what he was doing but I was upset that they didn’t use any of their own parts and they were there for a very short amount of time and charged me $100 and would not come down on it at all. I would not use them again or send anyone else to use them.
Description of Work: They fixed a leak for me on a water conditioner. They were there for approximately 15 minutes, tightened a gasket on the conditioner, and didn’t use any additional parts. They charged extra money for gas and they were less than 5 miles away from my home.

The sound of running water was heard but with there was no visible leak. Turning off the cold water line to the kitchen sink stopped the sound. Also, during this time, renovations were in process which resulted in the removal of flooring. Visible damage to the slab was evident in 3 different places in two rooms. American Leak Detection was called. The appt setter asked for a brief explanation of the situation, property owner's name and property location. An appt was set for the next morning between 8-9am with Eddie. I was told the estimated fee for the leak detection was $250. (I truly appreciated the 1 hour arrival window as it is a vacant property and didn't look forward to the hours waiting as in most cases.) Eddie arrived about 8:20am. After giving an overview of the situation and his review of the plumbing layout, he was able to immediately determine the sound of running water had to do with the RO system. Due to age and corrosion, he wasn't able to turn off the connection under the sink. He also couldn't complete the repair as he didn't have the required part. Instead he told me the exact part I can obtain from any home center to do the simple fix myself. Since he was here and hadn't needed to take the time to complete the leak test, I asked if he still had some time in his schedule. "Some", he replied. I then had him review two other plumbing jobs and provide quotes. (hot water heater replacement and replace faucet connections for washing machine.) When he was finished, I asked him, "What are my damages?" and his answer was "None". Eddie was extremely helpful and polite. He also provided some additional insights as to what might have caused the issues with the concrete. I'm very appreciative of his assistance and didn't even consider wasting my time and money on an unnecessary leak test. I wouldn't hesitate to call American Leak Detection in the future.
Description of Work: American Leak Detection was contacted and asked to perform a leak test. There was an extreme concern of a slab leak due to visible damage to the concrete and the sound of running water with no appearance of water.

Called American Leak Detection Service and the checked thing out and said I needed repairs done. They scheduled the work and fixed the leaking line. The Supervisor Rob Collins was very professional in his work and the job was completed in a timely manner. The Suplervisor was very caring and did everything He could to get the job done. After everything was completed you could not tell that they had to dig up my yard to fix the pipe, everything was replaced perfect. I would use this company again if I need there help.

Took approximately four days to repair, first day find problem, second day repair problem, third and fourth day repair holes in plasterboard. So far so good. Am satisfied with work done.
Description of Work: Leak in hot water pipe located in foundation of home. American Leak called as I became a member of Angies List, which seemed to highly recommended them. Gentlmen arrived when he stated, found the problem. Price would cost as follows: find problem $200, reair leak $1400 and another $400 for Las Vegas Drywall & Stucco to repair holes in plasterboard.

I would definately recommend this company. They were very thorough and accomodating. Rob & his crew did everything they promised and finished ahead of schedule. When they left you could not tell they had dug a trench thru the yard.
Description of Work: I noticed our water bills had doubled in usage & knew that was not possible without a leak. Rob came out to give us an estimate. Rob found the leak close to where the water line went into the garage wall. It was recommended we replace the main line from the street. So the most direct route was chosen from street to line going into house. The crew arrived on time or maybe a few minutes early. They worked very diligently until the job was finished. They did not have to make a new hole in the outside wall since we had the proper piping. This saved time for them and money for us.

From the time I called the company to the time the tech left I had nothing but good feelings about this company. They were all pleasant and knowledgable. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Due to excessive water bills, I called this company to come check for leaks. Eddy called to say he was on his way, and he was punctual. He spent over an hour doing his job, explaining things to me, and showing me things to look out for. Fortunately, there were no leaks detected. Eddy gave me his card and said to call his cell if anything came up. I was impressed with his customer service.

They were excellent. They were very reasonably priced and I was really shocked. I was expecting a $5000 bill or something like that, but it turned out to be something else. Their price was not cheap but compared to what I was expecting, it was a pleasant surprise. I was very pleased with what they did and I actually used them again for another job. It was for some more plumbing that I had and again they were very reasonably priced. They were very punctual. In fact they came back to check their work and they did very professional work. So I would highly recommend them. I will use them again in the future.

We were very happy with Eddy, his helper, and American Leak Detection as a company. They were very thorough, prompt, friendly. We'd use them again in a heartbeat. Eddy gave us his card and told us to call him personally if we had any future problems. The repair is guaranteed for 1 year which pleases us also since our home is 33 years old.
Description of Work: We had a water leak in the front yard between the meter and our turn off valve. American Leak Detection (Eddy) worked with our work schedules and promptly arrived on the day we designated. He was very professional and friendly. He explained the process to us and also explained each step of the process as he did it. The entire house and yard was checked and as we expected the leak was in the front yard on the main line. Again, he worked with us on our schedule to complete the repair and gave us an estimate of $800. He also made us aware of any things that could increase the cost at the time of repair, such as having to haul in sand to fill the hole if rocks needed to be removed. Eddy arrived on the repair day as scheduled and rechecked the line inside and out. Luckily the repair was under an area of our yard where a rock garden was so very little of the yard was involved. He showed us the area where the leak was, repaired the section cracked (which included wrapping the pipe with insulation), gave us the marked cracked section of pipe, and replaced the dirt and our rocks. They did such a good job of returning our garden area that we can hardly tell where it was disturbed. He rechecked the system and talked to us about future repairs to the line, if any. Another section of pipe a few inches from the original section blew while he was checking the first repair (before adding the dirt). He repaired this section also at no additional cost. We talked about the costs of replacing the remaining line versus doing any more repairs (if necessary) and he gave us an estimate of $1600-2000. We felt this is a good estimate since a tree will have to be tunneled under. All-in-all when done the repair cost $700, $100 under estimate even with the additional repair. Along with the initial cost to check for the leak the total repair was about $950.

I called on Monday morning and the service tech arrived at one that afternoon which was very much appreciated! It was such a small leak (but had done damage) that Jon's leak detection equipment could not pick it up. But because we could see where it was apparently leaking from, Jon cut out the sheetrock and found this pinhole leak in the copper piping. It was a very difficult area to get into as there was a 2x4 in the way, other pipes and the in wall vacume cleaner tube making it a very tight spot. Yet with great determination Jon managed to cut out the bad part of the pipe and solder the new piece in. He did an amazing job and cleaned everything up afterwards! We were so pleased with his work, the cost of the job and would definitely recommend him and his company.

They were prompt in returning my inquiry, told me the price for detection immediately, showed up at the appointed time, and spent a really long time looking for the leak. Not satisfied with the ulltrasound results they returned a few days later with the helium to make sure. i think they are a terrific company.
Description of Work: They were hired to find a leak in my water system. They believed it was in the main line, but the noise wasn't sufficfient to be sure.. They returned with a trank of helium to trace the source. Their suspicions proved correct, and I have hired them to replace the main line.

I am convinced that I called exactly the right guy to do this job, and that there would be very few plumbers that would have the tools or the expertise to do what he did as quickly and efficiently as he did. If you have a leak to find, this is the person to call. And beyond being skilled and professional, it is very refreshing to find someone as forthcoming and honest as this who is genuinely all about helping to get the job done. The value of what I got was well beyond the low price I paid. And I find that very rare these days. 'Nuff said.
Description of Work: Jon arrived precisely when he said he would, and was immediately very easy to communicate and deal with. I explained that I knew I had a leak under my slab, had calculated how much it was leaking, but had no idea where it was or what it'd take to fix it. He asked all the right questions, I told him what I knew, and he immediately began very logical and thorough troubleshooting. Once he learned where everything was (main valve, meter, hot water heater, sinks), began formulating theories, every step of the way confirming them before moving on. He listened to various places in the house with his microphone, and very quickly determined the leak was on a cold water line, under the kitchen floor. (Not at all where I suspected). Once that was determined, he brought in another very slick tool that traced the path of the pipe, and calculated the depth, which indicated he pipe was in fact embedded in the slab and not below it. Next it needed to be learned whether the leak was in the main line feeding the house (my worst fear) or a branch feeding the kitchen sink. He suspected there would be a manifold somewhere, which needed to be found in order to learn this. Knowing what he did about 1974 construction… he took his best guess and cut a small hole in the sheetrock in a bedroom wall behind the hot water heater. He couldn't have been more accurate; it was EXACTLY behind the hole he cut. He was then able to listen to the branches and quickly determine without a doubt it was the branch feeding the sink. All in all, it was very impressive and clear that this guy knew what he was doing. In addition, Jon shared with me all of his thoughts on the best ways to approach fixing it, what the costs might be, and I learned a tremendous amount. He in no way tried to get the job for himself, but rather laid out a clear path for me to do the work myself if I chose to, suggesting the final step of cutting and capping the offending pipe to in fact prove it was the one, and the materials he would use. He gave me a quote for the repair, ($1200) and then several times knocked that price down (I had helped him a little with some of his electronics; this what I do for a living, so there was a little trading going on which is fantastic). Incidentally, I entirely forgot to mention Angie's list to him for the discount, and he still knocked down the price of the leak detection for me, normally $275. I initially thought I would have him do the work, but in the end I did it myself. Using PEX pipe & Sharkbite components made the plumbing part a breeze. Cutting into exterior stucco walls, and crawling around in the hot cramped attic drilling down through top plates was NO fun; yes I believe his quote of $1200 for that work was more than fair, but it was through his honesty and generosity that I was able to save that cost and do it myself.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional customer service, quality of work and true professionalism exhibited by Technician Rob Collins, while at my house on October 28, 2011. I was provided a number of referrals from the Las Vegas Water District to assist me in detecting a water leak on my property at my residential home in Mt. Charleston. After extensive research on the companies I found your company to be very highly rated on Angie?s List and throughout the community. This leak was not easy to detect, however Rob made the entire process very easy, he showed up to my residence on time and prepared with every piece of equipment necessary to perform the job. As an owner builder I have been involved in a number of residential construction jobs, I am in constant contact with all the construction trades and subcontractors. As a result of the job Rob Collins performed I would place American Leak Detection at the top of my list of companies I have worked with. I want to commend Rob Collins for the great job he did. I am sure that there are several leak detection specialists out there, but Rob?s professionalism, thoroughness and expert knowledge makes your company the absolute best in my books.

My September (2011) water bill jumped from $30 average to $120. After having the LVV Water District replace the meter it was decided I had a serious water leak somewhere. I checked Angie?s list and phoned MC Plumbing who checked out the problem and decided it was either in the main water line or in the house and quoted me $7256 to reroute the main line or $8138 to re-plumb the house. I decided to get another estimate and phoned Red Carpet Plumbing and explained the problem and that MC Plumbing had been here earlier. They gave me an estimate of $3945 to replace the main water line through the attic and down to the inlet to the house. I then phoned American Leak Detection who came out, spent about an hour and found the leak right outside the house. A $275 detection charge (less a 10% Angie?s List coupon) and a repair bill of $700 (less 5% Angie?s List coupon) and within 3 hours and one part it was repaired. Rob from American Leak and his assistant were punctual, truthful, and efficient. If I ever have another leak in the water line my first call will be to American Leak Detection ? they were great.

They did a super job. And even though it seemed a bit pricey, they did repipe all the house fixtures and sent a team of 3 guys to do it quickly and efficiently. There were only minor inconveniences to speak of like several holes in the living room and bathroom walls....which of course they don't repair--none of the plumbers in Vegas do....so be prepared to DIY or hire a drywall patch/painting contractor. There was very little mess because they used plastic to cover everything. They were also very polite, professional, and prompt. They explained things pretty thoroughly and gave honest answers to all of our questions--even the girly ones that I tended to ask. But I think what really sealed the deal was that they worked with us on making payments for the services they provided...because seldom do homeowners have that much extra money laying around especially in this terrible economy. We were very impressed....and would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We noticed that our water bill was almost 3 times as much as it should be, and therefore checked for a leak. Finding none, we isolated the water system and noticed that the meter was still running full speed. This lead us to believe it was an under the slab leak. Since our home is nearly 30 years old...that was most likely the issue. We needed a contractor that could detect such leaks...so we made an appointment for the earliest time available and they showed up within the time frame and tested for the water leak with their apparatus. They told us upfront the cost of the detection services and that they would put a couple of estimates together and email them to us pronto. They were good for their word and we got them in 24 hrs. We approved one of the estimates and they began work the next day. We initially were going to go the cheaper route--run another pipe through the broken one under the slab, but after they open the walls we discovered that the original builder used smaller copper lines than normal...so we were forced to go the slightly more expensive route and go overhead with some pretty fabulous flexible pipe that they warranty for 25 years. Repair done and fixed in less than 3 hours start to finish. Then we scheduled them to come out another day to fix the additional 2 leaks...and they did...in less than one day.
