American Leak Detection - Las Vegas

The tech left unexpectedly, and I'm told by the office staff that he felt "belittled". Here are some basic facts: 1) The tech started his investigation by cutting a hole in drywall exposing plumbing. Except he cut that hole where it was relatively dry, and of course found nothing. 2) Then he cut another hole, but this time he guessed wrong and surprise - no plumbing. 3) I challenged him on these points, and his response was that he has worked with the other company that was onsite, and praised their work. But that company was not their to do his job. 4) That other company was not his company, not affiliated with his company, not solving the same problem as his company, and none of his business. He blamed them for his choice to cut a hole where it was unlikely he would find a leak, and then went on to cut a hole where there was no plumbing. I was stunned that a "professional" would blame another company for his choices of where to cut holes. I was stunned that he couldn't be bothered to measure where the plumbing would be by going to the other side of the wall in the adjacent room and using a tape measure. I was stunned that he would start cutting holes not near the wettest area just because someone else cut a hole nearby for a different purpose. I was told by the office staff that because I challenged him on those points, that the tech felt "belittled" and that if the owner wanted to discuss this further he would call. Since he did not and it's been several days, I understand that to mean this is business as usual for his company. Obviously I was not charged, the tech left without saying goodbye. I had expected the tech would cut holes in the drywall in a methodical way, starting with what was clearly the wettest area, that he would be reasonably careful to cut holes where there was a possibility of a leak (that is where there was plumbing), and he would own his choices and defend them with plausible answers. I expected a degree of expertise, not random cutting and finger pointing. Does not meet expectations.

Miguel is awesome. Polite, respectful and skilled, he did all the repairs well and they were not an easy repair. Minimal mess to clear up. I will most certainly use their services again. Thank you.

Not only did American Leak Detection help us with our emergency on short notice, but they did an excellent job and saved us time and money. Two other companies wanted to dig up the whole front yard to find the leak and charge us a huge sum. American Leak Detection determined where the leak was right away with their equipment and experienced personnel. They were a blessing. We would recommend this company to anyone with a leak or plumbing problem.

They did a wonderful job of detecting, repairing the leak and putting the concrete and carpet back. It is so nice to find a plumbing company that is professional and does a great job at a good price.

Provider arrived in time specified. It was necessary to make several holes in a couple of walls in order to make the repair. There is a company they can refer you to that does a good job repairing the holes in the wall.

We had Rob come out and find the leak, which was underground. He gave us an estimate for the corrections of multiple issues. We also got an estimate from another Co. They were close in cost. We had Rob, Jeremy, and Guillermo out to do the job. They were professional, efficient, and the outcome was great. All issues resolved for us. They also cleaned up after themselves.

Two different people came. One on Friday. A total disaster he spent his time on a phone with personal calls. Came in no footies, I had just paid the housekeeper $150. He tromped through the house, over oriental rugs etc. where there was no plumbing. I called my plumber, who in turn called his home office, who then recalled him because he found nothing. Mon. another man came. Much more professional, with shoe covers and designated where the leak was. tBased on his information, my plumber began cutting holes in my wall, ceiling , etc. My husband and I worked all one day to move all collectables, paintings, furniture, etc. As a result, my den was a disaster zone, my breakfast nook was a disaster zone, and my kitchen. The front of the house, living room, dining room, and entry became a storage areaThe leak was NOT in the part of the house that was cleared and decimated. It was in the laundry room and outside! There was no reason to gut my house, destroy throw rugs, make my husband and I ill and leave my house looking like Germany circa 1945! This is now a week later! The leak found, the dry wall, stucco, painting etc now fixed. Only a filthy house and the job of moving furniture, pictures, etc back into place after we clean the marble and tile. Thanks to American Leak Detection I have and still am living in a war zone. I intend to demand recompense and I would seriously dissuade your clients to trust these people, unless they just want to waste a few thousand.

JOB WAS REPLACING TWO SINKS IN THE MASTER BATH. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME. USED FOOTIES. VERY PERSONABLE. THEY WORKED QUIETLY AND IN A TIMELY MANOR. THEIR WORK WAS TO MY SATISFACTION. I TRIED TO SEND THIS BEFORE BUT IT LOOKED LIKE IT DIDN'T GO THRU.

My experience with them went pretty well. When they were fixing it, they found out that the pipe they had to use was no longer made and it was a pipe that had a lawsuit against it at one time. They replaced the whole thing. They gave me a fair deal. They wanted to charge me more, but I negotiated with them and he gave me $500 off. Another plumber told me it was a fair deal.

Rob Collins Found the leak in my Main Water line Sevice . Then est. of 400 to 500 to Repair plus an Angie's List Customers dicount .. The job was done the next day and no charge for est. .Rob was on time a little early and took him 2 1/2hrs. to complete. This Company & Rob saved me over $1000. Dollars. The job was done Right and took picture of leak and Repairs for me. I really can't Thank him enough for a worry free repair and a real cost Saver. Clint located the leak on the initial visit. Came back two days later and replaced the waterline between the street and the house that had been crushed by a tree root. All's good now.

Provider said that the price to repair the leak would be at least $850 in the best case scenario, but he did not explain how he arrived at this base price. I set a date for American Leak Detection to do the repair, but then I felt it made more sense to get other bids first. So, I called American Leak Detection to cancel the date while I considered other options. The moment I said I was canceling the date till further notice, they abruptly cut me off and after that refused to return my calls. Both the Provider and the office personnel responded in this manner. Meanwhile, I went and got three other bids. All three had a lower base price than American Leak Detection did. The company I chose did an amazing job fixing a fairly messy problem in only 4 hours, and both the crew and the receptionists were friendly and professional every step of the way. Their charge was based on an hourly rate, which the head of the company explained clearly and politely from the get go. It was not the easiest or the fastest possible outcome, and still the price including labor and parts was well below the minimum $850 quoted by American Leak Detection. I would not call American Leak Detection again.

Rob arrived on time and had a great attitude. You can tell when someone likes their job...it goes a long way in customer service from the start. Rob found the issue and resolved it. Above and beyond my expectations in how he fixed it as the previous home owner used some poor plumbing methodology that Rob was able to overcome, resolve, and walk me through every step of the process. A true professional who clearly knows his craft....and enjoys what he does. I will use ALD again in the future should any needs arise that require their services.

Elvis was very through in searching for leaks. He used his equipment and went through the whole house searching for water leaks . He found none. He then went out to our backyard and searched for any water leaks. He found none. He went to the front yard and searched for water leaks. He found a big one! It was the pipe that goes from the house to the street. He showed my husband and me where it was and the mud on the probe he used. He wrote up and estimate to repair the leaky pipe and an estimate to replace the pipe. He gave me his business card. Elvis was very professional and helpful with all the questions that I posed. I would recommend this company to my associates.

I explicitly asked for Rob. Rob showed up on time and fixed a major water leak problem with my pool and spa. Upon showing up, Rob listened to what I had to say about my issue. He then went to work immediately on the problem. Within minutes he knew where my system was leaking and explained every step he took in an effort to educate me (Attention Pool Owners! This was Outstanding!!!) and fix the problem. Rob saved me money too by quickly analyzing the root of my cause without having to conduct more costly leak detection analysis. Rob even followed up afterwards by calling me to confirm whether or not the repair work he did was holding. I responded, "Yes, you nailed it"! These guys are great. They worked around my schedule. The problem was identified and resolved. The price they charged me was less than the estamate. They found the leak to be in my irrigation system and not the city water supply.

We got a letter from LV Water District informing us we have 24 hour water flow and we probably have a leak. As soon as receiving the letter last night, we purchased a deal on Angie's for an inspection. We got a hold of them this morning and they said they'd be at our house between 12-2. They showed up a short time after 12 and performed leak detection analysis. They were very professional, timely and helpful. Luckily, it was a pretty easy fix, and they advised us on a course of action. We will use them again if another issue arises.

I had that unpleasant feeling (that us homeowners are, unfortunately, all too familiar with) when the need for a major home repair presents itself. For about three months, my monthly water bills were nearly triple the amount I was accustomed to paying (which I sort of attributed to my new front yard landscaping and the hot summer months)--but then I received a letter from LVVWD recommending I seek a leak detection expert as their equipment was indicating a continuous flow of water at my residence. Being a brand new member of Angie's List, I did my homework and called American Leak Detection. Rob arrived at my home, assessed the situation and e-mailed me (next day) the estimate, which included: A) the type of repair, B) the description of ALL work to be done, C) total fee for the service and D) hours needed for the repair. Nothing like having all new front yard landscaping performed and have a portion of it ripped away and dug up three months later--right? Well, let me put your mind at ease folks. Rob and his helper, Guillermo, removed the necessary boulders to properly excavate the area in order to replace the leaking main water line, tested everything they did to ensure all was working properly--backfilled the huge hole and replaced the boulders! I couldn't believe what I was seeing...EVERYTHING LOOKED EXACTLY THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE THEY EVEN STARTED THE JOB!! Even some of my neighbors, who walk their dogs everyday and pass my house, stopped to inquire what was going on--only to comment the next day on how flawless my front yard looked after all the work that American Leak Detection provided. But wait---it gets better. Unfortunately, a different, but somewhat minor issue presented itself after this repair...and that was, that I lost the water pressure in my master bathroom shower. No where else in the house...just MY shower. So I called them back the next day or so and they informed me that sometimes things of this nature happen and depending on this dilemma being repaired---another fee MAY be incurred. Well, luck was on my side because Jerry promptly came to my house, and it ended up being that my shower cartridge just had some debris in/around it from the water being turned off during my previous repair. Jerry was absolutely wonderful!! I was freaking out and in panic mode (us ladies tend to get that way-LOL) thinking "Oh great--more $$$ I have to spend!". Jerry's professionalism, courteousness, skilled knowledge and genuine concern for my issue was handled with such finesse, that once he showed me what the problem was, I felt a million times better and we even laughed and joked around while I watched him fix my shower. Truth be told, Jerry eased my mind and totally made my day!! AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION IS THE BEST!! I WAS SO VERY, VERY LUCKY TO FIND THEM...WHEW!!

They did a very professional job. The worker they sent out, Elvis, was very helpful. He identified that the leaks were not occuring in the pipes, and that it was actually in the tub drain. He took out a section of the ceiling below it to get in, and got everything taken care of. He cleaned everything up after the work was done.

I received a letter from my local water district stating that I was using an overage amount of normal water usage compared to my last bill in a 24 hour cycle. So I had my landscaper fix what might have been a leaking anti-siphon valve, however that did not fix the problem. The flow meter was still turning so next the water district senior tech came out and did a more detailed inspection and it was determined the main water line could be the issue. I researched Angie's list and found American Leak Detection. I made an appointment and Leak Detection Tech. Eddie came out on the 23 of October set up his equipment and found the leak. On the 30th Eddie and his co-worker came back fixed the repair, I have landscape in the front yard that I was concerned about however Eddie assured me that everything would be put back and look just like the original and he did just that. A professional job by a professional crew. The leak detection was $225.00 and he gave me a courtesy discount $100.00 off the repair which would have been $800.00 One more tip to homeowners if you have a broken main water line and can show proof that you had the repair done and prove that your bill doubled because of the main line breakage, you may be entitled to some compensation one time deal back only on your bill from your water company. My line was at least 3 feet down and there was no way I would have found that leak without a leak detection company like American Leak Detection or my water company sending me a letter letting know about the water usage.
