The work was done quite awhile ago and we haven’t had any problems with it. They were sufficient and they did what they were supposed to do. It wasn’t really done in a timely manner but they got the job done.

They did a good job. The pricing was reasonable.

Once the call was made they promptly came out and discovered the leak. They had to use an acoustic leak detection unit to find the leak. It turns out the leak was about 4 ft down at the main line which was in the same ditch at the main drainage line. The leak was not noticeable on the surface since the water was following the drainage line. The repair took several hours digging down to the line and making the repair.

The concrete was left open because they don't handle our type of driveway that was stamped and colored. They were very thorough. Rob is who came and he explained how the detection system works and showed me how he progressed when he found the leak. He showed me the spot and what he had to do to repair it. I'm extremely satisfied with how he handled it.

The leak was under hardwood floors so it wasn't possible to fix it. It wasn't cheap but it was fair. In order to repipe the house they had holes in every part of the house. Every faucet, every toilet and every shower required at least one hole if not two in the wall. By the time they were done you couldn't tell that they had even been here. Their people that matched the paint and did the texture and all that stuff turned out very, very well. Their field people were very good but their office people was not that good. We would use them again because their field people were excellent.

Serviceman came out & checked the pump lines for leakage. He used some equipment apparently to measure line pressures, etc. Stated that the was a pinhole leak in the line from skimmer to pump which was negligible in accounting for water loss. He was unable to detect any other leaks & suggested using the "bucket test" which invovled filling up a bucket to water line in pool & measuring any change over 24-48 hrs. This was inconclusive. It was decided between us that the water was draining over the top of the skimmer when the pool was overfilled. This may be true. The serviceman was very helpful & earnest

We found mold and moisture in our walls. Called American to come find the source of the problem. The first available appt.was 2 days later and we booked the 10am-noon appointment time. The rep arrived just before 2pm. He was very throrough, I think, in trying to find the source of the water leak. He used some sort of listening device and put it against the outlet for the ice-maker line and along another pipe that was visible thorugh a hole in our wall. He also moved the foot-boards very carefully from under our kitchen cabinets to see if he could find water damage or a source for the leak. He was very careful not to damage any of the cabinets. He checked the outside drain line and felt that there might be aproblem with it, so he got my permission to put a small hole in the outside wall of our house. He saw no problems there. He left telling us he could not find the source of the water (which by the way, has soaked at least 30 feet of our walls, causing mold) and that we may need to have somone rip out the kitchen cabinets to get into the walls since all of the dry wall is wet and mold seems to be running along the bottom of all of it inside the walls. As for professionalism... he did not explain what he was going to do, what the equipment he was using was for, or how much of an inspection he was going to do. I'm the type of customer who likes to know up front what is about to be done. He was wearing a uniform shirt, but his shorts were low around his hips to where a lot of his underwear was showing through much of his work. I know lots of people dress this way, and perhaps he recently lost weight, ut it seems very unprofessional to have your undies showing while working at someone elses house. He was very nice about answering questions and worked carefully - that was professional. He completed the paperwork and had us sign it.

I was very pleased with the service. I called American Leak Detection and within hours of the call there was a plumber at my door. It took him less than an hour to pin point the location of the leak which was in the front yard. Arrangements were made for them to come back the next day at 8am to install the new water line. The next day it was raining, but that didn't make a difference. They showed up on time, did the installation, cleaned up and were finished by 3pm.

The work their did was fine. They were professional and I couldn't complain with the work they did.

Ira arrived within the hour and gave us a firm price much lower than the other estimate we had gotten. He accurately pinpointed the leak within 1 1/2 feet. He cut through the asphalt, dug down 3 feet to the pipe, and replaced the cracked area. They again checked for leaking, and backfilled the hole. Once the area dried out a few days later, he came back and patched the asphalt. He cleaned up the area very well during all stages of the work. Because of the large amount of water lost before we even noticed the leak, Ira suggested we call the Water District once the pipe was repaired, and inquire about a one-time water bill credit through their Leak Adjustment Program. That advice is going to save us several hundred dollars on our next water bill, thank you, Ira!

American Leak Detection had to work under my house to do this job. They did everything they could to keep from displacing us while the work was being done. When the new pipe was in place they got everything back in place as it was before they started and that was nice. The work done obviously was good because we don't have any more problems with it leaking.
