TruGreen Lawn Care - 5128

I thought they were very good. I ended up canceling and going back to my old landscaper. But, I thought their service was good. They were able to get rid of some brown spots in my yard. They never hassled me about canceling.

I signed up for a year service plan and they have just started. They did not call before they came out. Once they were here, they did a very good job. My yard was in terrible shape after last years drought. There are still a lot of weeds, but it is much better. The trees and shrubs look much better. And, best of all, absolutely NO fire ants!!!

They were going door to door for their annual sale. The price he quoted me was $332.00 for a lawn spruce up plan for a year. They knocked $403.00 out of my account. I called them and asked why they were doing that. They said someone was supposed to call me back. They didn't refund it for almost two months. I needed my lawn mulched and aerated, and they told me they wouldn't do that until fall. Then they called me back and said that they didn't mulch anymore. Then I was called back and was told they wouldn't do any of it. I got another call, and they said they would do the aeration for me for an extra $50.00. When he was aerating he didn't seem to have much of a regard to where my sprinklers were.

Company made several applications at different times of the year. These applications lasted a few minutes. After several months there was no improvement in lawn appearance and presence of weeds.

The service rep that showed up to treat the lawn was professional and informative. He took the time to explain the issues with the lawn and the steps being taken to address those issues. In addition, he left a detailed explanation of his observations and follow up steps.

They are great. They call you before to let you know when they are going to be there. They have great customer service and customize the service to your specific need.

They give discount if I use a credit card. They are very simple and superb. I would use them in the future.

They do a good job. I would recommend them, they do what they say they are going to do, and my wife handles the bills, so, I don't know about the pricing. I only deal with good people.

They are okay, they delivered what they promised. When they stopped the grass got worse than it used to be.

The guy that does the work is very polite. He is careful and does a nice job.

I signed up for an annual lawn service. After 9 months my lawn was worse than when TruGreen started. I had more weeds than grass, there were huge bald spots in the yard because they let the chinchbugs ruin my grass. I called to complain on multiple occassions and they would send someone out but I never saw improvements. This company is more interested in selling you additional services (i.e., lawn aeration, fungus, shrubs and tree fertilization, fire ant, etc., etc.). They were constantly calling me on the phone asking me if they could charge me more money to do more things to my yard when they were not even doing a good job with my lawn. I have a lot of problems with ants and I agreed to the fire ant treatment. That seemed to be the only thing that they did right. I didn't see many ants in my yard after the treatment that TruGreen did. However, I got a post card in the mail in February saying that they were in the area in January and they went ahead and treated my lawn for ants. How nice of them ... what about asking me first???? Especially since they send me a bill for $55 for a fire ant treatment I didn't want. I don't appreciate getting a service that I did not request and then having them demand to be paid. I didn't sign up for a recurring treatment for fire ants, it was supposed to be a one time payment for a one time service. The guy that came to do the lawn aeration was rude and demanded that I go outside and mark all the sprinkler and cables in my yard so that he could do the job. I was busy at the time and I didn't have time and didn't know where all the cables in my yard were. I called TruGreen to complain and they said they would send someone out and that the service technician would figure out the sprinkler system so that they would not cause any damage. The same rude guy showed up demanding that I mark everything for him. I told him to go away and contacted TruGreen and demanded my money back for the aeration. This was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made giving this company money. They would come and do the treatments and leave their litle TruGreen signs on my yard.. When I called to cancel their service, I told the person that their company shold be embarrassed to advertise on my yard with their signs. I have St. Augustine grass, the last time the service guy came out they wrote a note and left it on my door. In the note, it said we treated your yard for weeds, for the areas where there is no grass, the bermuda grass will fill this bare spots given some time. Hello ??? Is this a company that knows anything about taking care of grass ... the service people obviously don't. I am not a landscaper or lawn maintenance company but even I know that when you have a lawn with St. Augustine grass, that Bermuda grass is just another weed. My yard is one of the worst in my neighborhood, bald patches, covered in weeds, large areas of encroaching bermuda grass. I have more weeds than grass after my 9 months of lawn maintenance services from TruGreen. And, can you believe that when I called to cancel and they asked why I told the person that they had let chinch bugs destroy my grass, she said that if I thought there were chinch bugs that I needed to call them to let them know to come and treat for that. Hello .... I did call and report the chinch bugs but I didn't know that I had to call you multiple times to do additional treatments, isn't this your job .... I'm paying your company a monthly fee to take care of my lawn and I need to tell you what to do. What's the point. in having a lawn maintenance company in the first place? If I knew how to take care of it myself, then I wouldn't have hired TruGreen. If this company calls you or comes to your door, run the other way.

I have been very satisfied with their service. They have a very good system show up when they say they will. They come about 10 times a year for different things.

They did a great job, and I would recommend them to anyone.

've dealt with these people for many years for lawn care and more recently shrubbery as well. Their management people are very nice if you insist on speaking with them, as are their technicians who do the service. The biggest complaint I have with them is lack of coordination in dispatching, being here when they say they will and/or call etc.I've experienced them coming on too frequent a basis...more so than agreed to..and not getting approval beforehand, but managers have always adjusted any disputed charges.They are very good but at times frustrating to deal with because of the above communications problems. I now keep very detailed records of agreed upon dates, amounts, actual visits etc. and maintain names of "go to" people when disputes arrive.I've tried other firms and found none better, but they could improve by 15% and leave everybody else in the dust.I highly recommend their shrubbery service for effectiveness!!!!! and while i've had great results in past years on the lawn, 2011 has not been as good, but some of that I'm sure is result of drought we've experienced in Houston.

I've been using them for at least three years now. They came out in September 2010 prior to this. This is the third time they've been here. They are prompt and they call me every year to remind me that I need to have the tree sprayed. They are punctual and they come when they say they are going to come. They generally do a good job. I will absolutely use them every year.

The landscaper told me the name of one company and I looked at the phone book but I couldn’t find them. I looked it up on the internet and this other company came up. The lady I talked to on the phone was going to charge me for two treatments and she told me that I would get some kind of a discount, and it ended up that she only charged me for one and it wasn’t at any discount that we had agreed on. Some of the grass has already grown back. I had some areas in that acre that they didn’t do, like a building and the swimming pool. They didn’t spray those areas. They did spray a lot though. The price was more than what we had agreed on and I never got the second treatment either. I also didn’t get a receipt for it. The guy gave me something for what he did but he said that they would be sending something through mail but I never got anything. The price wasn’t what we agreed on. Their quality of work was pretty good I guess. Even my landscaper told me that this grass is almost impossible to kill. He told me when it starts coming back up, to put some again on it. So I can’t really blame them. The guy even said that when he was spraying. He’s seen people dig down a foot in the roots and it would come back. That’s what happened years ago when I first moved in here. I dug it all out and it came back. Everybody said it’s really tough to kill. They came when they said they would. Everything was pretty good but the price wasn’t what we agreed on. I will probably use their services again in the future but I will make sure that I will get something in writing on the price first.

We weren't unhappy with them nor were we happy with them. They didn't come when they said they were going to come. They came while we were gone. They said they were going to come at a certain time but they didn't and came at a different time. We don't have any complaints as far as what they did but we just wanted them to be here when they said they would. They were okay. We were only going to use them one time. We didn't want someone come in to do that all the time because we thought it was too expensive. We couldn't get to do it ourselves, so we just had them come out that one time. We use to do it ourselves. The grass looks great and they did a good job. We thought the price was high for what they did. It's okay that they came, we didn't have to be here but we would have liked to have been here.

Contact with local office was frustrating. Good thing I keep names, dates and bills as I had to prove the charges were charged to my credit card.

They are very punctual and courteous. They do the lawn treatments and stuff. They are fine.

We hired TruGreen to treat our yard that was in need of TLC. They sent someone out who recommended the regularly scheduled irrigation and fertilization. Our yard looked better temporarily but then weeds kept coming back and so we had them treat for weeds and they never got rid of them. In fact, our yard has never looked worse. Then our azaleas got some sort of "bug" and they treated those once but then forgot to treat the rest of the trees. The reason I gave an F for professionalism was not for the performance of the men who treated the yard - no problems with them - but the rep who called and still calls us regularly is relentless. He still calls to bug us about re-signing up with them and when we were in the process of cancelling the service he called 2 - 3x/day.

They totally did not spray over 1/2 of a tree in front of the house and olives were falling all over the driveway and my neighbors drive way. To clean olives is hard and tiresome work. When I called the company they offered me a discount for the next season but not a refund for the terrible job they had done. Would not use them for olive treatment. Don't know how they are with other work.

They were very informative. They also helped me with a dry spot in my lawn that wouldn't go away. They knew a lot about how to make the grass grow, and they guaranteed their results. They called back and checked up on everything. They gave me references of people that could help me as well.

It seems to be working. I paid for a year in advance to save $$$, and worried about that ... but they came out and did exactly what they said they would, and continue to do the job. Only bad thing is that you never know when they are coming so you can meet the guy and ask questions.

They are very professional and their price is fair. I absolutely recommend them. Normally they let you know a week before they come. If the wind is too high they won?t spray. They leave a mark when they do the work so that you know they were here. You don?t have to be there when they do the job. Then they bill you for the service. The olives don?t grow after they spray and that is even better.

we have been using them for about a year. it started out with aprox $200 a year, then they wanted more and more applications. and it seemed to me that my grass was looking worse and worse. the last time they were out was the last straw. i had a few spots that they determined was fungus, they charged me $50 for a fungus treatment- which i thought was a very sparse application. well, it was, because a week later the fungus spread and i have lost half my grass. they came back out at n/c but it is too late. i have dead grass. i feel for the money i have paid for my small patch of grass - was a rip-off.
