Reluctant to review. The car appears to be problematic. It overheated and needed a ton things fixed. All I can comment on is they were patient, appeared to fix the problem. However, if I still have the car next summer, we'll see how it hold up.

Excellent job by MD and all of his people. They replaced the plugs did a 27pt inspection and tuned up the engine. They replaced the front rotors (warped) and pads. Car runs much better and the brakes do not "pulse" anymore. Nice job, I would recommend them as an "honest auto mechanic" Good quality work and ontime, didn't try to upcharge me on anything just showed options and left it to me.

Went well. Car handles very well. All safety issues addressed. Provided transportation to and from shop. Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional. Explained everything that was going on and why. Clear expertise with my make and model. Left me comfortable and confident. Will return for more work on the air conditioner.

They did an OK job. It took longer than they said. They offered to take me home and they did. They tried to add some unnecessary work but it wasn't a dooms day recommendation. It was more of a be aware warning.

Made an appointment the day before, got there and was told the car will be ready by days end. Got a phone call in the morning to confirm it did need a water pump and recommend to replace the belt as well. At around 2:30 I got another phone call to inform me that the car was ready. Even though I live across town (20 mi away) it was worth the trip.

I have a 2003 Acura cl with 190,000mi on it.I know it is going to need maintenance to stay reliable.I called up shop and talked with Mike (MD) made appointment and brought in car.Told Mike brakes squeeked a little thought it needed new brake pads.He let me know brakes were fine and charged me nothing! Brought in wifes 4 runner with pulsating brakes the same day.He put on brand new rotors and said pads were fine.Price was under $200. Now 4 runner felt smooth and stopped great! A few days later my Acura was running very hot,I did not see any leaks but filled it up with distilled water every few days.Finally I bought a thermostat and was going to install myself,but coudnt get to housing without taking parts off engine.Played it safe and brought it to mike they did a pressure test and found out my radiator cap was broken.They put in my thermostat to be safe and put on a new cap for around $160.Now my car runs great and I have piece of mind thanks to Mike and the crew at Sunset Auto.Don't trust anyone else with your car.

When I first moved to Vegas, one of my initial priorities was to find a good mechanic. I knew that when an old Filipino lady brought the guys lumpias while I sat in their waiting room, I found the right place. Old Filipino ladies don't mess around!

I recently moved to Las Vegas full time and decided to check out Sunset Auto because of all the great Angie's List reviews. Wow! Were they right. Mike quoted me approximately $725 plus Freon and tax. I took the car in yesterday and they had everything done in one day, gave me a ride back and forth even though I live in Southern Highlands which is totally on the other side of town, and lo and behold---the repair was less than they quoted. All of the people involved were knowledgeable and courteous with great personalities. And I always thought and honest car repair shop was an oxymoron. Well they sure changed my mind. They are definitely honest and knowledgeable and I highly recommend them. Too bad I hadn't gone to them last year when I had a major repair.

Everything was great. They contacted me with an upodate on what was going on about half way through the day. The price was great. They didn't charge me for anything extra or try to sell me on anything else.

On 02/21/2013 the crankshaft pulley, on my 1996 Honda Prelude, broke off the crankshaft during my drive home. Thinking that it was just the power steering belt, I continued home where I inspected the car and realized that the pulley was no longer connected to the crankshaft. The car was towed to Sunset Auto the next morning where they determined that the pulley bolt had snapped leaving part of the bolt lodged just beyond where the threads started in the crankshaft. Luckily, the technician at Sunset Auto was able to extract the remaining threaded bolt piece and replace it with a new pulley bolt, eliminating the need to replace the entire crankshaft or engine.

Very pleased with the service I received from Sunset Auto. There were no "Don'ts" as far as I am concerned. Had to find a local mechanic who was honest, my husband can no longer do maintenance on our vehicles, and pretty sure I found this in Sunset Auto. The young man (an Army veteran) who drove me home said he has been employed with Sunset Auto a few months and hasnt heard one negative comment from any customers he has driven to home/work. That was very encouraging. I will definately go back.

Good quality service, but the company charges slightly more than the local Toyota dealership (Desert Toyota).

They didn't charge me anything. My car died and so I had a tow truck take it to them and it ended up that a gasket was thrown on my engine, this was on the first week of December. They called me and told me that that was the problem and suggested it probably wasn't worth fixing, for the cost and for the age of the car, it was a 1999 Expedition. They held that in their place for over a month at no charge to have them evaluate it. I thought they would charge me a little bit because I was trying to sell it because the car was running. They are very honest. I used them several times. I also like their integrity. I would suggest them to anyone and I would always take my cars to them.

Overall, they do their best to make getting your car repaired as easy and pleasant as possible. They even offered to take me to a nearby Mall because the repair was going to longer than I thought and I needed to wait.

We're new to the area and was hoping to find a great mechanic that can take care of our older car ... and we found one! We reviewed a number of car repair shops provided by the Angie's List and decided on Sunset Auto Import Service as they seemed the most convenient and serviced our particular car.I called ahead to make an appointment and spoke to Mike "MD" Devine. He set us up for the next day and we took the car in. The shop is easy to find and located right off Boulder Highway in Henderson, NV. There was somewhat limited parking as there were a number of other businesses that shared the same parking lot, but we didn't have any issue actually finding a spot.We met with MD and explained the issue with our car which was a fluid leak in the engine compartment. MD took down the information and told us that no work will be performed until the mechanic completes the inspection and we are provided with an estimate. He did not try to sell us on any other service or warranties. Absolutely a no pressure kind of shop. A rare find these days.We left the car (around 10a) and we got a call around 2p on what the mechanic found and the recommended repairs. Again, there was no pressure to make any unnecessary repairs and we agreed with the estimate to proceed.The repairs were completed by the next day and we received a call when it was ready. We went back to pick up the car and again met with MD who completely explained what was done and told us that they automatically perform a 27-point inspection to see if anything else was amiss. There wasn't and he had no additional recommendations at this time.We also went over the bill in detail and received a 10% discount for being Angie's List members. I arrived early in the morning. They took my car right away. They showed me where the belts were cracking, and did a very efficient job of replacing them. I chose this shop because of their price, as well as their excellent reviews, and they did not dissappoint me. One shop wanted to charge me $211 for this exact same job. Another wanted to charge me $188. These guys did it for much less, and did it well. They are all the way on the other side of the valley, so it is not convenient for me to go there. However, I will continue to bring them my business because good, honest, reliable mechanics are hard to find, especially in the Las Vegas/Henderson area.

I would trust Sunset Auto with any car. They are honest and go above and beyond in their service. My 1999 car blew a gasget and instead of charging me to repair a very old car, they allowed me to keep it at their business until I sold it almost a month later and then didnt charge me for any analysis time or storage. You will never go wrong with Sunset Auto, they have integrity, which is almost impossible to find in today's world!

When dropping off my car, they gave me a ride to work. The brake service went well; the cost and outcome were as expected. The screeching was said to be likely due to worn plastic timing chain guides in need of replacement. Sunset Auto explained the diagnosis, the $2k estimated cost to repair, and that the work did not need to be done immediately. I asked if it was okay to postpone the $2k job until the next major service (likely 12 months away, based on expected usage) and they said that was fine. I like that the information was provided in a straightforward manner, without scare tactics or awkward pressure. The explanation seemed reasonable and allowed me time to budget for the $2k repair. I felt comfortable with this experience and will likely return in the future.

My 2004 Ford F-150 had 121000 miles and was making noise that didn't sound good. After checking Angies List for a local mechanic I chose Subset Auto. This is not your typical Mechanic shop. They are very profesional and polite. The diagosis was a bad differential that needed to be rebuilt. Also the vehicle had never been tuned up and still had the original plugs. I had them do all the work needed. It took about a week for everything to be complete but the vehcle ran like new again. I was and still am very satisfied.

went in to have my brakes changed and an oil change. They called to tell me the oil was still clean and that they didn't feel a oil change was necessary, WOW, that's a first! I always took my car to the dealer and they NEVER told me that, every 3000 miles in the past my oil was changed. For the brakes, they said the back brakes were still very good and the front was a bit low but could go a little more but i opted to have them changed as we were going on a long road trip. The only issue was they quoted us about $350 which i though was for back and front brakes but come to find out that was per axle, that's it. i would use them again, just be more clear about the price.
