Excellent service. Friendly. They have a drop-off and a pick-up service. They do the same work as the dealerships at a cheaper price. They do NOT do what does not need to be done. Counter person: "The manual called for replacing your car's differential fluid every 30,000 miles. But the model of your car requires partial disassembly of the differential to do this, adding 1 1/4 hour's labor. Our mechanic inspected the fluid. It was clean. He topped it off. It did not need to be replaced." How many other auto shops would do that (instead of just adding up the bill)? I highly recommend Sunset Auto.

No problems. Work was done promptly and well. They shuttled us to and from the shop. Answered all my questions fully and honestly. Highly recommended!

Took my daughters VW Jetta in to Sunset Auto for an evaluation with the prospect of having the work done there, however it ended up being a warranty covered problem so we took it to the dealer for repairs. But, these guys are honest, friendly and know their business.

Very fast and efficient service. They checked the car over to make sure it was in good condition and worth replacing the air conditioner. Replaced air conditioner and everything is working great. Very good customer service and I would use them again.

The owner was extremely friendly. They quoted me a very fair price and I ended up doing the work for that price. They offered service if I wasn?t happy with the work. They came up with a creative solution and they did it themselves. They also charged me very fairly. They switched owners just before I went there. I don?t think the way it was run by the old owner was that great, but the new owner is fantastic. I think people who didn?t have a good experience before can try again. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They?re not the cheapest, but it?s worth it for the high quality for service you receive!

We came in a few days prior to make an appointment. We brought the car in on Tuesday morning and, as promised, it was ready for pick up on Wednesday afternoon. They had called up to let us know about another problem, the power steering hose had a slight leak. They were not sure if it was still covered under our warranty so they gave us the option to make a few calls. We have since found out it was not covered and we will be bringing the car back to Sunset Auto for them to do the repair. We got a 10% discount by showing our AAA card. The gentlemen we were dealing with were personable and had good communication skills - I like to be informed as things progress. Yes, we will be using them again in the near future.

I have a 10 year old PT Cruiser. In the past 3 years I have sunk almost $10,000. in repairs into it. Every time I took it into the dealership I came out an average of $1700 poorer. If they actually fixed the problem it wouldn't be so bad but it seems every time I pick it up it sounds and drives worse than it did before I dropped it off. I just didn't have the heart (or the money!) to take it back there. The last time I took it in for an oil change they handed me a report on what needed to be done totaling over $2800. I took it to a different auto shop where I was told they could do the work for $1300 (less than half of what the dealership quoted me). I decided to let them do the work. They called me later in the day to tell me some of the items that were on the list didn't need to be done( good news!) but that a couple of things that weren't on the list were necessary( bad news). My new quote was $1600, still less than the $2800 I was quoted by the dealership. I picked up my car the following day and found all the same pings and pangs in my car plus a new developement: I was having trouble starting the car. This was all really depressing. If I had known at the onset that I was going to be spending over $10,000 on this car I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago and bought a new car. I was literally sick to my stomach at the thought of taking it in again. And there was no way I was going to take it back anywhere I had already been. I just didn't trust anyone anymore. But it was obvious I was going to have to do something soon because everytime I got in my car it took me longer to get it cranked up and I knew it was just a matter of time before I got stranded. So I joined Angie's List in hopes of finally finding someone who wouldn't scam me. I chose Sunset Auto on Boulder Hwy. in Henderson. I had a very pleasant conversation with the receptionist when I called to make an appointment. I felt reassured that I had made a good choice. I took my car in the following week and was impressed by how clean the waiting area was. I spoke to Mike, the service manager, who was very apologetic about how backed up they were. Really, I thought he was going to tell me it was going to be days before they could get to it, but it was only a couple of hours. I had already planned on getting a rental car so that was no big deal. Mike called later on in the day, again apologetic. They had done a complete diagnostic check and drove my car and really could not identify any problems other than a faulty battery. Even the squeaky brakes were in good shape! He said it wasn't bad news, but unless they could recreate the problem I was having with it they couldn't just guess and maybe fix something that didn't need fixing. Wow! Isn't that refreshing! I am used to just getting a huge bill for questionable work. More good news: I had a AAA battery in my car so they just called Auto Club to replace it at no charge since it was still under warranty. I picked up my car and was not charged anything. I can not honestly rate their work since nothing was done. But I can and do give my overall experience a big A+. From my initial call to picking up my car everyone was professional and courteous. Another plus was that they have a triple A rating with Auto Club. I would definately take my car there again, although I hope I don't have to for a long time!

I had the carburetor replaced three years ago at another shop. After a couple of years I had alot of gas useage and heavy gas odor in the exhaust. Sunset auto said they could do the repair needed. They had no problem getting parts and did a great job. Quick and knowledgeable. the car runs smooth and does not use a lot of gas and doesnt' stink anymore.

I was very pleased with my experience. M.D. and all the other employees there are very conscientious, honest and and pleasant. I felt that they really valued my business and I will definately take my car there again when it needs service.

Mechanic moved out of state and needed someone to tend to my car and truck. I have been very happy with their price quotes for this and some other work they have done for me. Greatly appreciate their drop off and pick up service. When there was an issue getting the distribution block the owner contacted me to let me know and apologized for the delay. The staff kept me appraised of the work and have found the company as a whole a pleasure to deal with.

I had been looking for an honest mechanic since we had moved to Henderson, and it wasn't until I researched online and read reviews about Sunset auto that I decided to take it to get a written estimate to fix all the items that another company had given me that was very high. I took it in. Dealt with Mike Devine, and after he inspected my car he told me it was only a hose, and that everything else looked like it was in good shape. It wasn't until then that I showed him what the other company had written down for a bid, and I knew I now was dealing with HONEST & RELIABLE people. I felt comfortable, because his family is Military, and so is my husband, and I knew that all the great reviews I had read about Sunset Auto were true. We are so happy with Sunset Auto and their staff that we don't take our vehicles elsewhere. I send everyone that asks me if I know of a good mechanic to them because it's so difficult to find HONEST,and RELIABLE mechanics in town.

Within one day the air conditioner did not work again (freon had leaked out). Was not able to return to find out where the leak was. My only problem with them was that if the freon was leaking out that fast, it seems to me (as a non-mechanic) that within a few minutes of running the air conditioner that they should have been able to locate the leak and offer a solution during the first visit. But they did what they said they would do. AGAIN, I am not versed in air conditioner repair, so take my criticism with a grain of salt.

I've used their service for several years for my Audi and have gotten good service (not always timely on getting repairs done but partly that is because parts are nearly always ordered from LA) at a much better price than Desert Audi. However, when the 3rd coil failed about 2 weeks later I ordered the parts from Henderson Audi and received a better price than I was charged at Sunset. Sunset gets their parts from Henderson Audi so far as I know and according to HA's parts manager. Now I know they get a better discount from the dealer than I could get so I'm a little miffed at the markeup (even with my 'senior discount'). I completed the work myself and saved myself several $hundred. I might say that Henderson Audi, who replaced the first coil (on a Saturday when Sunset is closed) also didn't recommend changing out all of them at once. Since parts are the smallest component of any repair I have to wonder about both shops in not recommending changing all at the same time.

I knew the Check Engine light meant there were error codes on the transmission from a previous visit to a different auto repair shop that didn't do transmission work. I went to one place that replaced a valve and said the errors would "go away". No dice. I found Sunset Auto via Angie's List and brought my car there on Monday 9/14. I told them I needed to get these errors fixed so I can pass emissions and get registration up to date (Yep, I waited for the plates to expire before going. Awesome.) I also asked if they have any deals regarding car rentals. They did. So I had them arrange a rental. No problem. A couple hours later they (M.D. was the guy's name, I believe) called me up, told me what was wrong (Three solenoids dead, have to replace the pack.) and gave me a price...which was a little pricey regarding the age of the car. He said, think about it and give us a call back. I didn't have to think long, I don't need a car payment right now. This is all right. Tuesday 9/15 I get a call around 1PM. Car's done. Drop the rental off. Shuttle to Sunset. Priced exactly as he said over the phone. Showed me the dead solenoid pack. I love it when auto repair shops keep the dead parts. I hop in the car. No more Check Engine light! Drive down the street to Smog Check joint, pass that! Get my Registration renewed. Sweet. These guys know how to troubleshoot, explain the problem, and what they did to fix it.

Probably one of the cleanest, most professional shops I've ever been into. Clearly pride in their work and business. We did however have to return the car because while they found the obvious leaking seal, they missed the leaking hose despite having given them the truck to work on with no deadline and instructions to clean the engine / undercarriage to check for additional leaks. The return repair was handled promptly and professionally. While the car was in they also found that the water pump was seeping a bit and they suggested we keep an eye on it or replace it. With Vegas temps and Summer upon us we decided to repair it now. Maybe it was a slight up-sell but not a hard-sell. This shop is way out past Henderson on Boulder Highway, totally opposite from where we live in Summerlin. With that in mind, I still feel it was worth the drive in that they were very professional and did a good job. Don't let their remote location from the rest of the city deter you.

They were busy which is why they just went ahead and did the freon and didn't bother to call once they discovered the issue.

The company was found on Angie's List. I called and described the problem and was given a rough estimate of repair costs. When I brought the car in, they examined the problem and gave a final estimate (which was about one-half of the initial estimate). They said they could get the parts and fix the problem in about 45 minutes. Twenty-five minutes later, the job was done. Even their customer candy dish had the good stuff in it! It doesn't get any better than this!

The check engine light on my wife's Toyota turned on while I was on long trip. I went to Sunset Toyota after they were referred to me by a friend. They were extremely helpful, and they didn't charge me for unnecessary work after they realized it was only a loose air cleaner hose that was causing the problem. Extremely helpful staff and I believe very trustworthy. I'll go to them again.

I was kept informed during the repairs and things went as fast as they could.

So far the experience has been great. They are very easy to work with. Their work is done right and quickly. They showed me where the problems were and let me know what needed to be done.

I went with this company because they are certified to work on Mercedes vehicles. They did still have to order the parts directly from the dealer though. It took 3 days for the parts to come in. I feel like I should have gotten a second opinion before I told them to do it, but I did not. I feel like they over charged me. I called the dealer that I got my car from and they said that they could have done it for a couple hundred less. I will not be going back to this company. I do not feel like I like I can trust them.
