I called for a quote, and the owner told me that he would charge a $15 estimate fee. No way!!!! For this reason, I would never use this company.

Rudolph arrived on time and was prepared to work the full day if needed to complete our projects. He has integrity! We had a laundry list of items to be repaired, and he let us know for several items on the list that we should hire another provider to complete the work. Some things he said he could do, but wouldn't do it as well as another professional. He even went so far as to provide us recommendations for who to call for a couple things (custom door weather stripping & ceiling fan repairs). We will be hiring him again later this year to repair and paint our fence/gates as well as install casters on a cabinet. The only reason I gave him a 'B' for quality was because one of our chair legs was repaired with a gap where there shouldn't be a gap, so the attention to detail on this repair faded. The quality of that work was not on par with everything else. He has promised to deliver puddy when in the area next since re-doing the repair may damage the chairs thanks to the wood glue. The wood glue overflow seemed excessive to my husband, but I believe that is normal and we were able to remove it once dry. The other 'B' for professionalism was regarding cleanup - which is one of my pet peeves with contractors. The keys to my back fence gate (which includes a house key) were left in the gate unattended during the day, and not returned at the end of the day. There were extra pieces of the chicken wire which we had to throw away. And the old chicken wire was thrown away in our recycling bin instead of trash bin.

WENT VERY WELL. COMPLETED BOTH ROOMS IN JUST OVER 6 HOURS. TWO MEN WORKED SOLID VERY PROFESSIONAL, CLEANED UP AFTER, VACUUMED AND REMOVED TRASH. VERY HAPPY WITH THE JOB AND WOULD USE AGAIN.

I initially emailed Silver Desert Handyman with a picture and brief description of what I needed to have done. I was worried, after reading through all the great reviews, that he may be busy and not able to provide a quote in person right away. To my surprise, Rudolf responded right away and was able to provide a fair estimate based upon the measurements I had provided. I agreed and he was able to survey the proposed dog run area within the next day and schedule the work to be done within the same week. Everything went great! I'll definitely use this service for future projects.

Rudolf was able to salvage what was a fairly rusty eyesore and make it look brand new. He also added to the bottom of the gate so that the dogs could not get out and it looks like it was originally designed with that feature. He knew the exact paint color it was originally just by looking at it. He also added a handle and a lock so that we could easily enter and exit the gate. While he was working on the gate at his shop, he installed a temporary gate. Now, that's service! He pays attention to detail, is consistent with communication, and takes pride in his work. It is rare to find people who truly under promise and over deliver, but rest assured, if you hire Rudolf, you won't regret it, as he certainly strives to exceed expectations. We look forward to hiring him for our next project.

Rudolf arrived with a coworker (my apologies to him, I can not remember his name) to do an estimate but offered to do the work while they were here. They were dealing with very heavy pieces and made sure they did not damage anything in the house. They went above and beyond what I expected. They did a perfect job. My wife and I would recommend Silver Desert Handyman HIGHLY and plan to use them again.

Very hard workers - Can't tell where the replacement posts are in iron fence - very smooth & seamless work - Back gate is secure & much easier to use now :) Seamless modification there as well - Kitchen in new home is now annoyance free :) I am even happy to have found a problem with the gutter over the door to the back deck ;) Glad to have reason to work with Silver Desert Handyman again - Thanks for the great work -

I had a metal fence panel popst with a gate attached that had rusted just below ground level and was causing the gate to drag when opening it. Rudolf of Silver Desert Handyman arrived as planned and found that the post in the fence panel on the other side of the gate was also rusted and needed to be repaired. He advised what the additional cost would be for both posts and proceeded with the work. He did excellent work repairing both posts for a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to use him again and recommend him to others.

We contacted Rudy on Monday, August 3. He came right out the next morning to do what we needed. As usual, he was right on time and completed the work in a very timely manner. He completed the shelves and then surveyed the doors to determine what he needed. We have very tall doors so he needed to get the correct amount of stripping. He obtained the material and changed all the strips on the 2 doors. Now there is no light coming through when the doors are shut! He put a plate over the doggie door entrance and caulked the door threshold. Now no light or creatures can come in through the doggie door now except our little dog. We are very happy with the results.

We just had Rudolf, from Silver Desert Handyman, fix/retrofit our dog-run fence. It was rusted out on the bottom and it had been since we bought our house 4 years ago, but it just got so unstable we finally had to fix it. We have no idea why it rusted, because we don?t have any water near here??? Anyway, I expect others have similar type fences and expect similar issues, so I?m posting pictures so you?ll know how good a job they did. You can see up close in the 1st picture that Rudolf fabricated brackets and drilled directly into the concrete. This was the part that was all rusted away. The 2nd picture shows a similar bracket at the bottom, but the part to note in this picture is the wall. The reason ours got so unmanageable is it wasn?t attached to the house at all like it is now on the top in this 2nd picture. All of these put together make it Very Stable! He even went ahead and put primer on it for rust protection, nice touch and it was included! The 3rd picture shows the whole dog-run fence? and a little poop, sorry. Thanks Rudolf and Anton, of Silver Desert Handyman, for doing such a great job. Only took about 3 hours from start to finish and we are very satisfied? It should last for decades! You might pay a little bit for this handyman, but you'll get your money's worth.

I have one of those typical outdoor yard gates that's constructed of square tube steel and vertical rods, covered with a steel mesh. The bottom of the gate was rusted out because of years of grass-sprinkler watering. I switched over to desert landscaping some years ago, but the gate kept rusting because of earlier damage. I don't weld. I considered fixing the gate myself with new rods, braces, and screws purchased at a big-box store, but I knew the gate wouldn't look as nice and that things would start rusting in time. I found Silver Desert Handyman through Angie's List and we communicated a few times via e-mail (silverdeserthandyman@gmail.com). I sent some pictures of the gate and based on those Rudolf gave me an estimate for repairs. I priced a new gate and it was clear that having the existing gate repaired was the way to go. Silver Desert Handyman (silverdeserthandyman.com) lives in my area of town, so I dropped the door off at his shop, and he gave me a replacement door to use as a temporary deterrent for the side of my house. The repaired gate looks like new and all the welds were clean and neat. I understand that he does all kinds of repair and home-improvement work and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again if I ever needed some highly-professional work done around the house.

Rudolf and his crew arrived promptly as scheduled, and performed all of the work on time and within budget. I am a repeat client of the Silver Desert Handyman, and he is my first choice for all future handyman work. Gave Rudolf a second chance because of his sincere apology and follow up for not promptly calling back the first time. However, this time, I was impressed. He came over the same afternoon and completed the job of building our employee lockers the same day. He also threw in fixing a squeaky door and an equipment for free of charge.

Rudolph, with Silver Desert Handyman, came to give an estimate for the cost of the installation of our fence, within 15 minutes of his promised time to give the estimate. We agreed on the price and installation and a date, within that week, for the installation. He was prompt in arriving for the job, actually arrived 15 minutes prior to his promised time. Rudolph and his two assistants worked very quickly and professionally in getting the foundation set for the fence. The job was completed by that afternoon. The only time they stopped was for a quick bite for lunch and then quickly returned their attention to the job. When the job was finished the clean up was immaculate! We didn't have to clean up anything - They did it all! We are VERY pleased with the work done and we have contracted Rudolph to construct an addition to the fence. As always Rudolf did a wonderful job replacing the old, dried out weatherstripping on my 3 outside doors. He pays attention to detail and matches measurements precisely. He is always on time and does excellent work regardless of the chore I have asked him to do from installing smoke alarms to patching drywall and painting to installing weatherstripping. I have found a reliable handyman that I plan on keeping on speed dial in case something in the house breaks!

Craftsmen arrived on time, discussed job and told us in detail exactly what they would do. They fabricated the necessary braces and spreader bar to hold the three new boxes. They primed and painted the new stand to match the new boxes. The craftsmen were clean, very polite and very professional. I will use them again if needed and will not hesitate to recommend them to any one who asks.

Rudolf and his 2 workers spent 1 and a half days repairing holes and gouges caused by my husband's power wheel chair scraping along the walls as he was learning how to drive it. The walls were a mess but Rudolf and his crew repaired them to the point you can't tell where the holes and gouges were before. He is always punctual, very polite and respectful and does a great job. And, he cleans up after he is finished.
