Silver Desert Handyman

We were disappointed with our previous Big Deal handyman who promised a lot of things and made us wait for two weeks then came only to say that he wouldn't do the job, even though we were very detailed with our to-do-list beforehand. After getting a refund from that, I called Rudy instead and got his Big Deal. He was easy to talk with, and he was very responsive. Within 6 days, he was at our house, promptly, and didn't fail our expectations. Together with his partner, they were easygoing, honest, and are very good workers. We paid them extra (plus tip) for the chandelier because we understand that it was more complicated, but they were quick to adjust with the situation and made use of whatever materials we all have to make things possible. They even gave us some advice and a little hand with our other issues in the house, including our electrical issues although with some troubleshooting, we all decided that it's best to let an electrician do them. We are so happy with them that they even overstayed a little after their job was done, to talk about an unusual but common interest, and we invited them to our small house party the next day to which Rudy showed up with her girlfriend. They also had fun and overstayed for more than 3 hours even if they only intended to stay for 30mins. Not only have we found a good and honest handyman, we believe that we also found a potentially good friend.

The handyman arived, discussed the work to be performed completed the work, nice quality, and cleaned up and left all within 1-hour.

Silver Desert Handy Man is clearly an excellent company who takes pride in its work. Two guys arrived on time to install locks & did so quickly and expertly. I was so impressed by the quality of their work, I asked them to assess a few other jobs gathering dust on my husband's long neglected "honey do" list. Rudolf took photos of one of the bigger potential jobs so that he could research the materials needed and give me an educated bid. These guys are very friendly, professional, and clearly very talented . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Angie's List is worth its weight in gold- and so is Silver Desert Handy Man.

From start to finish the did an OUTSTANDING job!!!

They contacted me promptly after my purchase of the deal but I was not quite ready with my list. After I had it ready they worked me in their schedule within a couple of days. All the miscellaneous jobs I asked them to complete were done very well. I would call them again.

Excellent service. I had bought the special, 2 hours for $79, but two men came out. They went through my list quicky and they did everything very well. They even cleaned up after themselves! I ended up paying $50 because one project was very complicated, which I already knew. That additional $50 included materials, because I had none.I will definitely use them in the future. Rudolf is terrific!

The chair was shot. I wanted to wait a couple of weeks to buy a new one. He told me up front that his repair would be a temporery one. I agreed, as long as it works for two weeks. It lasted longer then that. Very professional.

Communication was great from Rudolf. They were prompt, professional, and fixed all the problems. Everything is better than new. I requested a quote from them for a future project as well.

Company responded promptly to our call for repair. They arrived on time on the scheduled date, discussed how they would approach the repair, and proceeded with the work. They were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. We would definitely use this company again!

Rudy was great. I called him for a bid and he was on the phone with me the next morning giving me an estimate. He was very friendly and thorough when replacing the wooden fence post that had been damaged. I'm very happy with his work and the end result was fantastic. It's hard to find people that do good work and charge a reasonable price for it, this is what Rudy has provided and I will definitely be calling him again when more help is needed!

Arrived early and immediately began the work I requested. This install was somewhat tricky because the replacement oven was larger than the original and the cabinet had to be adjusted. The result was better than I expected. Very clean and you can't tell that the new one was not the original.The install for the overhead lights was likewise professionally accomplished.I would certainly use Rudy again with no hesitation should the need arise.

Over all it was good. They worked hard at removing the carpet and cleaning up. Did a great job on the fireplace, very pleased with it. We had a very minor difference of opionion which we were equally guilty of, but resolved in a quick and pleasant manner.

They showed up on time. They called when they said they were going to call. They were very responsive. They had very good follow-up over the phone and e-mail. We think their prices have been good and reasonable. We haven’t had a lot of experience with different handymen in this area, but we felt that the prices were very reasonable.

This was a complicated project due the circular design of the living room and the radius of the space. I obtained several estimates and decided to move forward with Rudy and Lee based on both the positive reviews on Angie's List and the fact that their estimate/price was very competitive for the job. When Rudy and Lee came to my home to discuss the project and take measurements, they were very helpful in providing suggestions and ideas that would help improve the space. They showed me photographs of some of their previously completed projects and I was impressed with their professionalism. While fabricating the railing, Rudy kept me informed of their work and sent pictures to make certain I was pleased with the design before finalizing their work. When they came to install it, they took the time to ensure it was properly secured to the floor and that I was happy with the finished product. I would highly recommend Silver Desert Handy Man to anyone considering custom metal/iron work for their property. The finished railing is really beautiful and I have received numerous compliments from visitors to my home. I would definitely hire Rudy and Lee for any future projects of this nature and feel they do excellent work at a very reasonable cost.

Rudy and Lee are an AMAZING find for busy people or unhandy folk who need someone honest, competent, and reliable. I have used Angie's List companies seven times in the past six months and, by far, these guys are at the top of my list. (This is the seond time I have enlisted their services.) They arrived on time and, following a brief review of my "to do" list, got right to work and completed everything perfectly in record time. As a single woman with a home that always seems to have things requiring attention, I cannot emphasize enough the value of these skilled and trustworthy guys who are also real gentlemen. A review of a portfolio of their recently completed projects documents the broad spectrum of skills they capably apply. My high degree of satisfaction with Rudy and Lee's work quality and ethics strongly influenced my decision to reup my Angie's List membership for five more years.

Rudy and his work partner came to the house for a 9:00a.m. appointment. They were on time. All communications up to this point, were via email and Rudy responded to my emails in a timely manner. I showed them the gates that needed the work and they were ready to start and went over with me what I wanted for clarification purposes. They told me that they would after the security gate was removed, patch in the holes from the bolts being removed on the house and would paint the area. This was also done on the metal fencing where the hinge was removed on the door. They than told me that they would need to measure for the metal mesh screening that I needed on the other decorative security gate and would pick up the material at Lowes/Home Depot along with the new lock for the door. They told me they would pickup a bite to eat and return in an hour and a half which they did. They finished putting the metal mesh screening up and also painted it to match the original door. They asked me to come out to check the work and asked if I was satisfied with the work they did. I was very pleased and I asked them what I owed them and I felt that the $346.26 was a fair price for the work I needed done. They accepted my personal check and gave me a receipt for the work they had done with each charge being listed for materials and labor. I do not have to worry about security being sound and my dogs getting out of the court yard. I told them that I would get back to them about another job I wanted done, provided I get approval from the HOA after submitting drawings. I would recommend Silver Desert Handyman should you need work done that you can't handle yourself. Thank you to Angie's List for your service in finding the right people for the job I needed done. The work Rudy and Lee did in December of 2013 on the fencing repairs and the configuration and installation of a security gate came out beautifully. Rudy and Lee were here two full days and than another half day to finish up the painting of the fencing and gate plus install the lock I had requested. I also had Rudy return to do a few small jobs of removing two boxed springs from my master bed, installed on the outside wall of home a hanger for an electric Christmas wall decoration that Rudy assembled for me, relocated a heavy furniture in my den and hung two curtain rods in my master bedroom. The work done was reasonably priced and the work was done in a timely manner. In fact, considering it was very close to Christmas, they were able to find time to get this work completed before the new year.

Rudy and Lee were very professional and were able to do everything I asked them to do and do it well. They were here several times over a 10 day period and completed what needed to be done in a timely manner. They hung shelves and a huge sign for me as well as repairing drywall that a plumber had damaged, creating the above-mentioned tunnel, refinishing a large desk, creating a "step-box" for the cats to use to get up to the tunnel that blends in perfectly with the walls around it and removing a tree that the wind had knocked over. All work was reasonably priced and well done. I will definitely use them again when needed.

The service was not so great. The stucco repair was great but when he painted it he had paint and he painted it but it was the wrong color. He went and got more paint and it was still the wrong color. It was darker than the paint on the outside of my house. I have to go and try to match the paint on my house and paint it myself because I can see where he painted and patched it.

I was able to schedule an appointment within 3 days. Even though I was running late, he waited for me & was extremely friendly and professional. Great job overall. Will definitely call again if I need more handy work done.

Bought the deal for 4 hours of handyman services for $155 advertised on Angie's List. Heard from Rudy early the next morning. Due to his schedule & mine we weren't able to coordinate until the following day. But he arrived on time, was cute - as handy men go...lol( hey who doesn't have a man w/a tool belt fantasy occasionally?!), and thorough. The patch job was a two part deal, but the final result: fantastic. Air Filters changed no prob. Light fixture is now nice & clean. Timer did stump us both, though. Glad I wasn't the only one! He did charge me $15 for materials which I guess I wasn't really expecting...(I probably didn't read the fine print somewhere), but thankfully I had cash on hand for a tip, anyway. All in all I was very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

See above. Also, I wanted to add that I asked these gentlemen to mount some blinds I had purchased online. However, they didn't fit. Lee took down the old blinds in two rooms and attempted to mount the new ones. After it was obvious it wasn't going to work, he re-mounted the old blinds without complaint. These two fellows were a pleasure to work with.

They were right on time for the appointment. They called me to schedule the appointment the day after I purchased the deal. I was very impressed by their initiative and hard work. One worker rebuilt two sinks and toilet (which had to be removed), while the other repaired and textured some drywall where I had replaced the bathroom fixtures. They are obvdiously WAY overqualified to do these menial repairs, but they didn't complain and did a GREAT job. They cleaned everything up. They were very pleasant and worked quickly. They went above and beyond the special that I had purchased. I would highly recommend them!!!

Rudy was very prompt and courteous. He came over to do an estimate, and submitted it in detail to me the next day. He and his partner came to do the work on the scheduled day and professionally installed the privacy mesh screening in a timely fashion. I was very pleased with their work. They are very hard-working, ambitious guys, who are very capable of doing almost any job. I highly recommend them.
