Silver Desert Handyman

Rudy completed all of the requested work on time and within budget. This was our second experience with him and it certainly won't be the last. We are very happy with his performance, professionalism, and friendly demeanor; highly recommended!

Rudy came to the house to access the scope of the job. I gave him a deposit check to cover the cost of the materials, and he went to purchase the necessary materials. Then he returned to the house, and did an excellent job on the project. I first found Silver Desert Handyman (Rudy) on Angie's List about 3 years ago. I have used him for numerous projects and shall continue to do so!

Rudi is the solution to all my security problems. Keeping a downtown LV property secure from the zombies, and a house in the burbs safe from local delinquents is a major headache. Rudi has the tools and expertise to do it all. His bids for the chain-link fence installation and installation of a vehicle access gate were half of what the local major fence company wanted. No one will ever again be able to use a crowbar on my security gates after what he has done. I will always call Rudi first for just about everything. Always prompt, courteous and professional. And a real friend. I have hired him for so many jobs, I lost count.

I called Rudy that I had some work that I needed help with. He promptly set up a time convenient for both of us. He performed all these small jobs for me and we set up a date to paint my wrought iron fence. He showed up with his crew and they spent all day power sanding the wrought iron, that was in bad condition and then came back the next day to paint it. The job was done in an excellent manner so it will last longer than me. I found Rudy on an Angie's List special and have always been pleased to have him there for me to perform those jobs I'm unable to do. He's wonderful for our "over 55 community".

We want one of our computers in the dining area, but we don't want a computer table which is too big there, so we decided on a "nook" or something small and unobtrusive that would just be attached to the wall. Our biggest issue is we don't want it to be jutting out to much, so we decided on 11 inches deep, with just enough space for the CPU underneath, a printer on the 2nd level, a regular (not mounted) screen on the main level with the speakers and mic, and a keyboard with mouse underneath. We wanted a retractable and rotating or adjustable keyboard tray, but all the trays we found are all too wide and too long that they wouldn't fit underneath. Rudy cut the rail of the tray for us so that it wouldn't be too long and would fit underneath the main "table". He also cut the boards, painted them, and installed everything on the picture. Now, we've got the perfect computer nook in between our dining room and the den. As always, he's very easy to talk with and get an appointment, and the price is always reasonable and the service is excellent.

They send 2 men and charge the hourly rate for each man so service call was double the amount advertised. I made a call later for same service and they wanted to recharge entire amount for the same thing. It was service on a fireplace and I had not used...then I went to use 2 months later and Had the same problem. They did not offer any credit or discount at all to come out and do the same thing. Never been so disappointed with any of Angie's list referral. We have used several other referrals and they were always as advertised. I do not think he even should be on Angie's list!!! Misrepresentation all the way !!

The hinge bolt on my gate broke when I opened it on a very windy day. I called a handyman that I've used before and he said he was very busy but would be out within the week. The week came and went and he didn't show up. I contacted him again and he told me that he'd be out to my house within the next two days, and then would be going out of town for 10 days. He called on a Tuesday and told me he'd be at the house - never showed up. I wasn't willing to wait for his return and possible future no show. I called Silver Desert Handyman and the phone was answered by a very pleasant woman who told me that they could be there that day! I wasn't able to make that happen so we settled on the following day. She told me that Rudolf would call me to set up a time between 1:30 and 2:00 that afternoon. At 1:50 he called and we agreed on 4:00 the following day. Rudolf showed up on time, looked at the problem with the gate and told me he could fix it right away. I had checked around to get an idea of cost, his quote was lower than anything I had found! He had a helper with him and they began working. About 20 minutes later, he had repaired the broken side and wanted to show me that there was still a problem with the fit of the doors. He explained how to fix it, quoted the cost and asked how I wanted to proceed. Even with this repair, the cost was less than I anticipated paying. They went straight to work- by now it was dark outside - and fixed the problem. The gate opens and closes smoother and easier than it has since we moved in to the house! I am VERY pleased with the entire experience and will absolutely call Silver Desert again when I have work that needs to be done.

Rudy showed up right on time to provide an estimate to repair and improve a chain link fence. He made good recommendations for improvements. His bid was reasonable. He showed up exactly as scheduled and performed the repairs as contracted. I will use him again.

He was on time and worked in a timely manner did all he was asked and did a professional job. I would highly recommend him to others.

Our clothes rack with shelf fell off the wall because we over loaded it with clothes to dry. We contacted Rudy as he has performed repairs for us for several years. Rudy ask me to send him a photo of the wall and shelf so he would be prepared to do the repair correctly the following day. Therefore when he arrived to do the repair he brought stabilizing arms to strengthen the shelf. We were very happy that Rudy had been proactive and was ready to complete the repair in a very timely manner without needing to go to the hardware store and that the self was better than before!

They were nice and very good guys. They came the same day or a day after I purchased the deal. They were honest, hardworking, and nice people.

Rudy and Gene did a great job. They had to come back to the job several times due to long drying times. Each visit was on time and the workmanship was great. The side gate to the backyard by which they had to enter to repair the block wall always sticks. They repaired it, no charge. Not part of the job.

Once again, Rudy responded promptly and completed all the assorted tasks I had on my list and more. He is professional however simple or complicated the job may entail.

The entire job went flawlessly and without a hitch. Tenants are really happy that the enclosure doors can be used again and properly locked. This is the third time this year that I have utilized Rudy's services at my commercial property, and it will not be the last. He is a consummate professional and a man of his word. I make the highest recommendation without reservation.

Went OK, I needed to clean up some after they finished.

They broke the brass handle to my bathtub and never came back to fix it. The toilets run again. Waste of money. These guys keep changing the name of their business.

Rudolph and Ali (sorry if i misspelled) arrived exactly on time for the estimate. They were great, courteous and provided opinions without being at all pushy. They gave a fair estimate of the work on what I have seen for pricing in the area. They arrived 10 minutes early on the agreed day and immediately set to work. Their interior paint work and wall repairs were spot on and exactly as we asked. Te other repair work was done exacty as requested, including matching perfectly a small stained area of popcorn ceiling. They finished everything on time, on budget and were great to deal with! Would absolutely recommend for repair work and they are outstanding painters!

Rudy fixed our gates by first removing the rust, sprayed painted the gates, came back next day to install the mesh on them. Throughout the process, he was very careful about not getting the paint onto the walls/windows from the spray. They look like new now. As for the paint job, Rudy and his partner came prompty on the scheduled day, not only did he paint the garage door, but also re-newed our 2 outdoor lights by the garage as well. It took them about 5.5 hours to complete the paint job and it looks great now. We are very pleased of his professionalism, definitely will use him again for any future repairs.

Responded promptly to my call and was able to do the work the next day! Arrived on time and got the work done very quickly!!! Definitely recommend!

Rudy arrived on time and got to work. I count on him for small jobs and he never makes me feel they are not important. I will not hesitate to hire Rudy to take on a major job. Pleasant, skilled, and efficient.

I put the call in and received a call back from Rudy. He wanted to come and look at the project right away but I was not available until after 1 PM. He and his helper showed up and I showed him what needed to be done. Before I knew it, they had started on it. They kept the work area clean and cleaned up after the job was done. Pretty much everything I showed him to do, he said he could do it today, which he did. After each project was done, he called me to check it out and it was done to my satisfaction. He will be the only handyman I will call from now on.

As usual, Rudy was punctual and delivered on his promises. He is the only handyman I use, because he has proven himself to be trustworthy and has always been fair in his pricing. I highly recommend Rudy without hesitation.

The work went very well, they did exaclty what they said they would for exaclty the price he quoted. He was very easy to work with.

Rudy was the only one that responded to my email when searching Angie's List looking for a carpenter. He emailed me yesterday to say my desk was finished! He and his co-worker delivered that afternoon. I did not realize this would be difficult to get into my office as the doorway was too small. My husband & Rudy & Coworker got it through the window into my office. Thank you Rudy!!!! I am so thrilled to finally have my desk to my exact specifications. I would highly recommend Silver Desert Handy Man to anyone that browses Angie's List. From the first contact through the finished product, Rudy was very professional. I will be calling him again to help me with other items in our new home.
