Description of Work: The larger unit of the two I have stopped blowing cold air, tho the fan was going in the attic. Upon inspecting the unit, nothing was going but a low hum was heard. My thought was "d***" looks like the compressor went. I prepared myself for a big bill or a new unit. I read Angies list for profiles and called them. I was scheduled for the 2nd stop the following day. Two men showed up with Jesus in the lead........... He quickly found the problem to be a blown capacitor and fixed the problem then and there. For added measure he further checked the pressure level and all was fine. they have my business in the future. Pat Mc Mahon.

He didn't try to upsell me, Didn't charge me an arm and a leg, and he gave me the Angie's Deal discount.

Description of Work: Our roof mounted central heating unit went out so I went to Angie's list for a contractor and found Carl's. A guy came out, checked it out said heat exchanger bad and quoted $7900.+ for a new 13 SEER HVAC unit. I checked around and found that the price quoted was twice what I could get it for elsewhere. I bought a 14SEER Trane from ACLV for $4800.00, total, tax and all. I will wait till they install on Monday to give them a formal recommendation but I now know that price shopping is crucial.

Description of Work: AFTER POSTING THE BELOW NEGATIVE REPORT ON THIS COMPANY, THE GENERAL MANAGER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED ME BY PHONE AND AGREED WITH MY RESPONSE AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOUD REFUND THE SERVICE CHARGE TO TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT. I AGREED AND THEY REFUNDED ME $70, AND THEN WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING, THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED ME BACK AND ASKED IF IT WAS OKAY IF HE WENT OUT TO MY HOUSE AND MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WAS DONE CORRECTLY THIS TIME. HE DID GO AND CHECK THE WORK OF HIS TECHNICIAN AND CORRECTED ANYTHING THAT WAS DONE INCORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE THAT A COMPANY HAS GONE OUT OF ITS WAY TO CORRECT A PROBLEM. I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WIH THE WAY THEY HANDLED A NEGATIVE SITUATION. I'M STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE INITIAL WORK, BUT AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEIR REACTION AND CORRECTING THE PROBLEM AFTER THEY SAW MY REPORT ON ANGIE'S LIST. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN NEXT TIME I HAVE A PROBLEM. This same company replaced the start capacitors in my A/C unit in June of this year, and the technician tried to upsell me to a new unit that I did not want or need, by trying to scare me with untrue information. Rather than put the correct dual capacitor in to fix my problem, the tech used 2 separate capacitors, put one back in the cardboard box it came in and taped the 2 together with electrical tape and hooked it up and said it would be okay like that. Well the capacitor that he put back in the box and used it that way failed this past weekend. They came back out today and charged me about $135.00 to do a 5 minute job replacing the bad capacitor that they put in 4 months ago, and they told me that it was covered by warranty. I'm not happy and will not use them again.

Description of Work: Replaced 2 heating and air conditioners plus two air purifers everything was done on time as scheduled with no problems the two units worked as promised. they spent a lot of time with us discussing which units to replace them with, without flinching an eye. Very good company to do business with.

Description of Work: We had a fan circuit board on our air conditioning unit go out due to a lightning surge. The service technician was pretty good, however he ran into some glitches and it took longer than expected, but he didn't charge us for any additional labor time. That seemed reasonable. I was a little disappointed in the price of the circuit board, but at least it was in stock and didn't have to be ordered.
