We only specialize in Landscape designs, landscape from bear dirt or complete replacement of existing landscape. Designs are created by using Auto Cad 2021. Installation: Irrigation, Plants, Gravel, Concrete, fire pits, retaining walls, Pergolas, water features, Synthetic turf, Sod, outdoor living space and pavers. Contract: Deposit of half down when we start, balance upon completion. What to expect when getting an estimate, Antonio will ask questions on the vision of yard, then he will take notes measurements and a quick sketch. Design will take minimum of 1 week. Family owned and operated over 18 years, native of New Mexico OTL members are fully vaccinated with first booter shot. At New Mexico State University I was educated in Horticulture and Landscape Design. Under the Horticultural program we learned about Agronomy ( soils) , Entomology( insects) , Biology, Chemistry , Pathology ( diseases). Everthing that was needed to be a Professional. Sure I have my education but I've learned so much from my hands on experience. Many years ago when I started Summersweet Landscapes. Other landscapers would ask me. "Do you need a degree to do landscaping"? I answered " no you don't , but I do". I started Landscape Design when I was in high school. I was trained by a Horticulturist also from N.M.S.U. He taught us that the Horticultural field was a professional one. And that the industry should be respected as one. Professional. He had all students join Future Farmers of America. It was mandatory , inorder; to be enrolled in his class. We went through competition in design. In my last two years of high school competition I was on both District and State Landscape Design Championship team. I graduated with both high school diploma and two year vocational technical certificate in Horticulture. After high school I attended N.M.S.U. where I got my Bachelor in Science Degree in Agriculture. Thank you Eric and Carmela.
"We recently moved to NM and the yard at our home was neglected for a few years. The backyard needed to be cleaned up (including removing a few bushes and an old clothesline), a new irrigation system installed, and beds prepared for a variety of plants I want to install. Eric and his crew from Summersweet were excellent! I interviewed several landscapers and only Eric listened to what I wanted, offered his expert advice (his knowledge was gained thru both formal education and practical experience), and delivered what we agreed to have done! The Summersweet crew was hardworking and professional - it helped that I speak some Spanish. Carmela pleasantly and professionally handles all the behind the scenes logistics. Everything was done professionally and on time."
