Sunshine Plumbing & Heating

Sunshine has been my plumbing company ever since our house was built in 2005. We recently had to have a part replaced to fix a drippy shower valve. Unknowingly the faucet company sent the wrong part. Sunshine still charged $150+ for the service call. When we received the correct part they returned to install it - and charged another $150+. On the return trip the plumber was here for less than 20 minutes. So - it cost me over $300 to have a leaky faucet fixed. Sunshine is a competent company but be cautioned - they are VERY expensive. I may be shopping around the next time I need plumbing services.

It was fine. The price on the deal was great.

They sent a completely unexperienced crew to our home that had no clue what they were doing. We had to send out a second company to wish their mistakes.

It went very well. He came when he said he would, did the job. We were completely satisfied.

It was fine. I paid extra charges but they did do the "Big Deal". What happened was when they got here because of the things they were going to do was hook up my swamp cooler but it turned out that it had been newly installed just before I purchased this house and the people who installed it did not hook up the power or the water to the thing so Sunshine Plumbing did that so it took a lot longer and cost a lot more than the "Big Deal". Part of the fee that they charged me, I signed up for Sunshine Plumbing's family and friends discount because I liked them so much and that cost was also part of the bill. I had an issue not related to my furnace or my swamp cooler and they came and fixed it.

They said they would call us with an estimate. In the meantime, I got a second opinion. I was told it was super easy to clean, you only had to run bleach through a cycle, and that it was purging because it wasn't plugged into the drain correctly. My water softener was fixed with a 30 cent part and some liquid bleach. I called to ask about the estimate and to see why they didn't do a full evaluation, etc. No one has returned my call yet.

They showed up on time and spent about 30 minutes on the roof and assured me that everything looked great and units were functioning properly. However, 2 1/2 weeks later, one of my units stopped working. Called them back to repair the malfunctioning unit. Upon that call, I was told that they would try to get someone there that early evening. No further call to let me know yes or no. But then someone showed up the next morning around 10 am (again, without confirming or notification or calling). Since he was there, I let him inspect it again and got a bid for $464 to repair. I inquired about any warranties (my house is only 3 years old) and he assured me there were none. Needing A/C, I agreed and when he was done, he showed me a part that he replaced that had been spewing oil and indicated an inspection 2-3 weeks earlier should have caught the issue. I later inquired about any warranties from the manufacturer and found out that parts WERE warrantied and that repair people should know/check this. I left three messages for a return call from Sunshine about this and only when my credit card representative got involved did the owner speak to me and agree to refund the parts (which came to only $113.82 of the total repair). Had I not done this research with the manufacturer, I would have been out this additional money. To be fair, they had later left me a message about refunding the cost of the parts on a different phone # than I had left for them. He also agreed to refund a portion of the inspection of the one unit of $50.97 because of the malfunction, but I had to call and follow up on that when it was not forthcoming (he admitted he forgot). Lastly, I went up on the roof to change my filters at a later time to find that a filter strap had not been secured after the inspection of the first unit with a screw missing. I had to call (twice) and follow up on that as well to get someone out to fix this. While I know stuff happens, but it was only on the final reimbursement was there an apology for the service issues. For the amount of time, research and inconvenience that I had to put in to finish all of this, I will use another concern the next time.

The owner, Jeremiah, on the morning of installation, came to my house and introduced himself. He then went up on the roof to confirm that he had all the right detail to order the correct replacement cooler. He then called his men who were waiting at the distributor and relayed the info. His technicians arrived with the new unit, and without delay, lifted it onto the roof. They then proceeded to take the old unit apart and remove it. They continued by assembling and placing the new unit. By my request, the pump and fan belt (which were newish) were salvaged from the old unit. They completed the process in what I consider a very efficient time (given that if I had attempted it, would have taken four times as long) and were polite, well spoken, and friendly. All in all, I was impressed with both Glen and Brandon and thought they did a great job on a hot, humid day.

A/C system was inspected and furnace insides vacuumed. No problems were discovered by the technician.

Sunshine completed the job however caused a roof leak while replacing one of the units. They acknowledged that fact and sent their roofer back multiple times attempting to fix it with no success. Eventually, they brought in a different roofer to attempt a 'patch' and that did not work either. The original plan, as discussed with Sunshine, called for pulling the unit and fixing the leak under the unit if the patch did not work. After some time and with no response from Sunshine, I contacted the Better Business Bureau attempting to plea my case/situation. Sunshine was than able to convince them that it 'might' be other issues with my roof. The simple matter of fact is my roof did NOT leak prior to Sunshine and only started when they swapped out the units. It is extremely easy to demonstrate that the leak is under the unit where they did their work. Sunshine just left me to deal with the roof leak myself. Other than my roof still leaking, the worst part of the ordeal was the lack of project management. Jeremiah assured me multiple times that they would resolve the situation yet he was never on site for any of the attempted fixes or there for the discussions with the roofers. I 'thought' he was going to be a man of his word. Rather, he just basically lied to me and stuck me with the situation. The best one though was after I contacted the BBB. He sent a roofer (under the ruse of finally getting it fixed) to 'look' at my roof when in reality he was attempting to build a case against me saying I had the wrong screws in my pro panel roofing. Again, my roof did NOT leak until Sunshine did their work and it only leaks under one of the units that they installed.

Advised us as he went along what he was testing for and how our equipment responded to the tests (well above the acceptable level for cooling). Also discussed the change in refrigerants or Freon that would be taking place, suggesting that we have our system checked twice a year. That'll work well with the time changes and changing the battery in smoke alarms, etc. I'd recommend them without hesitation and certainly will call them for future needs.

Everything was done in a professional manner with care taking to makes sure it was done right.

Under warranty, Sunshine came out next day, on time and quickly analyzed my A/C problems. They were on time, friendly and professional. I would recommend them and utilize their services again.

Everything went well. The technician was on time, did a through check and cleaning, and the price was great.

The technician arrived on time and carried out the HVAC servicing in an expeditious and professional manner.

Jeremiah did a great job on the estimate and his follow up during and after the install was awesome. I have used them again for other plumbing issues.

Couldn't ask for better, friendly and helpful service.

The service was flawless. The crew was polite, courteous, very knowledgable and experienced. They made sure the carpet was covered and all materials were cleaned up. It was immaculate when they left. The work was fast and efficient. These people know what they are doing. Everything Jeremiah said was written down and explained. The quote was accurate. I am very pleased.

Went very well. On time, professional, did a thorough cleaning of the unit and check of wiring, etc.

Michael seemed very knowledgeable. Listened to try to understand a problem I have had with dust coming through the AC and heating vents. Sealed one place where dust may have been entering. Service and checked the system to ensure it was working well.

Outstanding working with them. Couldn't be happier. They followed through w what they were supposed to do.

We had set up our MasterCool evaporative cooler ourselves this year, but discovered water running off the roof in buckets the next night. Since we were in a bit of a time crunch I purchased the $59 a/c service and scheduled them to come out, which they were able to do within 48 hours. The tech adjusted the float and replaced the almost broken belt, plus closed the furnace vent (which we had forgotten to do). He was very courteous and I was pleased with his promptness and professionalism. I had purchased the $59 a/c service trip, so only had to pay for the belt itself.

Technician was on time and performed the task in a quick efficient manner.

I have a new unit in my mother's house with minor problems I wanted serviced and Sunshine Plumbing and Heating told me I had to put in another new unit so basically I got ripped off $500 on a service call to tell me I needed a new unit for something that was already new. I was really angry about that. If it was my mother and not me, she would have bought it hook, line, and sinker. I believe they would have taken advantage of an older person because that was just a total lie.
