I made the appointment to redeem my Big Deal with no problem. Even so, no one showed up at the appointed time. A half hour after the service provider was to arrive, I called the owner, Michael Ortiz, who apologized and got off the phone to call his crew. He called me back in a few minutes, and said that he would personally come over and do the job himself. He arrived promptly 20 minutes later and swiftly and expertly completed my drywall repair job. He was very professional and courteous. I will use hime again.

Overall I am the most dissapointed of any Angie's List purchase that I have made in the past. Both occations were for work on Drywall. On was for 4 simple holes with original drywall cutouts provided and one from some water damage which included wall and ceiling work in a bedroom (This is one i recommended to my co-worker before the work was done at my house, based on the reviews here which were good at the time of my purchase). The company sent some workers, whom I can only assume were hired to help with Angie's List orders. They showed up to drywall work (the same guys both times) for patching a ceiling, in a car and without a ladder. When they brought a sheet of drywall to the second job which required new drywall they cut it in HALF because they had a car, the job did NOT require this and it looks horrible with a splice for NO good reason in the ceiling. The work in both situations was shoddy at best. It was poor craftsmanship and I will never go back to this company again. Not only was it poor craftsmanship, but when asked why it looked that way the response was in both situations it will look fine when its painted. Well it has been a couple weeks now and i can tell you it does not look fine, and I waited for the owner or a manager to call me back especially when dispatching these guys to my house instead of himself and not telling me when i scheduled the work to be done this was the case. I was hoping to get a "How did my crew do at your job?" or a "Where you satisfied with our businesses work?". I got no such phone call, and as such I will never recommend them for work and I will leave this review as a warning to others that this business is not one that I can endorse or recommend in any way. The last straw was that at the second location, one of the workers spilled an entire 44 Oz coke on the bedroom carpet, and didnt say anything until confronted about it hours later...

The work was completed quickly and compentantly by the two workmen.

We had some problems arranging the service in terms of times and dates - I'd taken a day off to be at home when they came to do the work and was orginally scheduled early in the morning. By the time it looked like they'd actually arrive it was late afternoon so we rescheduled for another day (and another vacation day from work for me). We had some discussion about the work needed and I mentioned that i had two large holes that would need pieces of sheetrock to replace and they say they'd bring it when they came. Two weeks later they seemed to have no recollection of the conversation and so the two large holes remain unrepaired. That said, the rest of the work was done fairly well - they definitely invested the man-hours promised in the coupon I bought and the work that was done was of average quality in my estimation. The most compelling reason for me to be satisfied with this work was the price - it was an average job for a below average price.

They accomplished the work efficiently and were professional

They did a great job. Bought prime treated wood and replaced the metal parts. Looked great. Pleasant folks to work with.

The worker was punctual and we first looked over the fence together and decided which pickets needed replacing. Then we went to Home Depot and selected the newpickets together. Then returned and he went to work and worked through the day until 8pm to complete the job. The workman was professional and worked hard. I had him return for a separate charge to haul away the old pickets.

Medicore. This is the second deal of this kind I've tried (x hours for Y $). It's not such a great deal and this contractor was not ideal. The worker who was sent to complete the deal was very polite, but poorly prepared and without a drop cloth or a ladder. Wish I had insisted on putting down some protection on the floor, because I had to clean up stains in the carpet afterwards. I was satisfied with the 30 minutes of work he performed. A unskilled helper accompanied him. Because there were two workers, I was told I would get my four hours in just two hours. After 30 minutes of work and 30 minutes waiting for mud to dry, the worker suggested they return to do some texture work. This was fine with me, but then he misrepresented (to his boss) the amount of time he and his companion had been here working. The contractor offered to do the texturing, but suggested I had just about used up the 4 hours of the deal. At that point point I decided to call it quits. I cannot recommend this kind of deal, unless you're certain you have 4 hours of work. Even then, it is sometimes a little challenge to get your value out of the deal. Obviously, contractors are looking to get into your house and quickly engage you in further work. The deal may be a good way to "preview" contractors. I can't recommend this one.

When I made the appointment and during a followup call I emphasized that we had tall ceilings and a 10ft ladder would be required. The man that was sent showed up with a 6ft ladder and a old weather warn table that I be leave was unsafe. The worker was friendly and responsive but he was very slow, in part due to not having the right equipment and in part related to his taking cell phone calls on this hourly pay job.

The responsiveness seemed to be good. I am still waiting on suggestions and estimates for the work. So far everything has been good. The guy that came out seemed professional, knowledgeable, and he was courteous as well.

I purchased a 2hr handyman big deal to get this work completed. It seems that the owner gave the job to two other helpers. After arrangements were made for them to come out to do the work twice the helper was half-hour late and then called to say he couldn't come and needed to reschedule. At the third attempt he came out but did not bring a ladder so I let two of them use two of my ladders. When they got the work done I think they did a good job.

They did a good job. They were very good. They had to go out to Home Depot and get a part. They were on time and did extra. It was very good for me. I paid for the materials that they got at Home Depot. I would use them again.

Overall I am satisfied with the results of the gate and wall, but definitely not the quality of work I was hoping for or expecting. SMRT sent a contracted employee to do the work, he called the night before, arrived on time and proceeded to increase the height of the cinder block wall by 3 blocks, using a total of six blocks. I was disappointed when he finished this part, because he used all the mortar to fill the end blocks and used the cement as mortar. He offered to fix it by scraping out the cement and using mortar over it, but I told him to leave it, I was concerned at this point if he had worked with cement and mortar before. He told me he would be back in a couple days to install the gate after building it at the shop. Did not hear from him for three days and called to find out what was up, he had a death in his family and would be out early the next week. Next week arrived and no news. Called again and told it was because of the funeral. He would be out the next day to install. He came and installed the gate, but brought the wrong bolts to finish the latch. Once again, waited several days for him to return and finish latch, and finally called to get him to come. A project that should have taken at most 6 hours and spanned a couple days ended up taking 17 days. I feel just terrible about the young mans death in the family, but Michael at SMRT should have reassigned the project to someone else, or at the very least made sure that there was constant communication as most of the time we felt in the dark.

I had purchased a big deal for the service. They were very personable and friendly. They figured out the job, went and got the stuff and did the job very well. There was nothing negative and the positive thing was that they were very personable, and willing to take my input. They asked us what we wanted, and if what they did was okay, so they worked well with us. They were making openings in the wall, so that they could take all the wires from the computer into the wall, and come down and out of the wall, so that we could plug them down underneath and not have wires all over. I just paid 10 more Dollars for the little covers for the holes in the walls.

We had an appointment scheduled and we both agreed to reschedule that appointment. We agreed on a new appointment date and he never showed up. I have made three subsequent phone calls and he hasn't even contacted us back! It has been over a month at this point.

Guess I could use a refund.

The first meeting went well; the contractor set up an appointment and arrived as arranged. He measured the bath and talked to us about our vision for the remodel. He left with a promise to provide a plan and estimate for the remodel project. After several email reminder, we received a schematic (not a real plan) that overlooked several construction constraints, like placed a new door halfway through an existing sky light. We have still not received an estimate for the remodel.

The owner, Michael is very good and professional. Sent over some good people to fix up what I needed.

It was chaotic. Some one called at 8:15 on July 2 asking what had to be done and how to get to my house. Two people showed up and said I had both of them for 1.5 hours instead of one person for 3 hours. They did attach the bookcase but that took 45 minutes plus the time it took to go over the jobs. They completed two easy jobs quickly and were gone in less than 1.5 hours. Assuming that the same two men would show up again I contracted for another 3 hours at $99 with Mike to complete the remaining four jobs. Two different people showed up so I had to repeat directions to the house and repeat the work that needed to be done. Three jobs were completed, not one satisfactorily. They delayed their original arrival time to have lunch. They completed the three jobs with a few minutes to spare, but by that time I wanted them gone.

Owner had provided an estimate two months before. It had been difficult to schedule something. Once scheduled, someone else was sent instead without notice. The gentlemen was nice, and cleaned up afterwards, but the job was not finished. He took wood to complete a ramp for the doggy door, and was suppose to come back to path up the stucco and the inside. We had scheduled the return trip for the following Friday, never heard back. It's been 3 weeks.

We had a good sized hole in our bathroom wall where a towel ring had been placed. Michael used a piece of mesh to strengthen the wall before fitting in a piece of drywall. He matched the "brocade" finish on our southwest walls to match the rest of the room and painted the area with paint we had on hand. It now looks like there was never a problem with that part of the wall. In addition, he installed a new towel ring for us. Very satisfied customers! We will be sure to contact him again should we need his construction services.

This is the second time I have used Michael and he is always very professional, very fast and eager to share his knowledge and expertise. I will use him again.

He came. He listened and made suggestions as we went through my specifications for a remodeled bathroom. He did email me a price list for the project, but the coupon said you would get a plan. We never got any drawings that would show what we wanted.

The contractor put together a ceiling fan and installed it. He was unable to complete the other jobs, which I did myself. I had to take the initiative to get ahold of him, and he also got lost coming to my place, so it was late by the time he got here. The first time, I was missing a part. So, I went to the store and got the part. The next day, the contractor didn't show up, so i contacted him again, and he came and installed the fan. Honestly, the store where I bought the fan would have installed it for less money than I paid this contractor. I thought that he would be able to do more than that, but it didn't work out. That's why I say it was not a good price for me. He is a nice, friendly and trustworthy person and he did a good job on the installation. The sink handle he was not able to fix, but he told me what to do, and I did it myself. The other job is still not done, as I'm waiting for the right part.

After seeing what I needed done, we had to purchase sheetrock, so they followed me to Lowe's so I could buy it, and load it on their truck. They followed me home, and they cut out the bad piece, cut a new piece, and put it up in the ceiling, and screwed, taped and mudded it in. There were two guys, who worked for about two hours, including the trip to Lowe's. They cleaned up their mess, and the repair was ready to finish and paint in two hours.
