Residential & Commercial Garage door & opener sales & service. New replacement doors & openers. Preventive maintenance programs-Residential & Commercial. Same day service. Regular Rate Saturday Service in Albuquerque.
Called the company and told them what I wanted and quickly agreed on an install time. There was no sales pressure applied for other items. Jake showed up in the agreed upon window and did a fast, professional install of my new garage door opener (about 45 minutes). He was very friendly and helpful in answering my many questions. The price of the equipment and installation was not out of line with other companies. I will use this company again if the need arises.

We were very pleased with them. They were owned locally but they have sent someone else old and so the last time they came we were not pleased. When they were owned locally they were very reasonable. When they came back, they were unpleasant and we were not so happy. They were more interested in selling a new part than what they were servicing. I would have rated the past experiences we had with them with an excellent rating. But the last service, I will rate it very poorly because of the lack of service and the rudeness of the serviceman they sent. The initial response to come out was fine but the response when they were here was an "F".
Description of Work: The company called Overhead Door of Albuquerque did some service for me. We had asked them to coordinate the car to the garage door opener and we also asked them to service the garage door that they previously had been servicing for more than twenty years.

My experience with them was good. It was positive. The technician just seemed to be very competent and he did a good job in a reasonable short time. I think he was using some oil or lubricant or something and he left a spot on the door. Their responsiveness was good.

The installation went super smoothly. The technician called to see if he could start earlier that planned - of course!!!! He was very through, laid out all of the necessary parts - he had done this soo many times before, he could do it in his sleep. But he was very conscious and made sure everything was right - except for 1 item. He had cut a side piece of the exterior weatherstripping about 1/8 inch too short and at an angle. He could have ignored it, but he didn't and made an appointment for another tech to come by and replace the entire weatherstrip piece the next following Saturday (the installation was on Thurs). Kept cleaning up during the installation so nothing was missed. Along with knowledge, he was very friendly and liked having conversation during the installation (I wasn't distracting, I know when to keep quiet!!!),

They came out, put the thing in and did a complete check over of the system. It works great. I ran across them through Facebook. I did a post on Facebook. I said, wish we'd had you guys a week or so ago. We still have a non-functioning door. They basically said, give us a call, here's the number. Their overall professionalism and speed stands out. Doors are a fairly complicated thing. They all high-powered springs on them, things like that that are potentially dangerous. They came out and I doubt it took him more than 90 minutes to do the whole thing. I think they were an A pretty much all the way. They came out. They were timely, knew what they were doing, they put in a more powerful one than what we had, installed a new keypad on the inside, installed a new keypad on the outside which we hadn't had before for outside access and then gave us the new remote controls for the car.
Description of Work: It was for a much more powerful opener than what we have had and the installation. They also did a complete check of the system and new external keypad on the outside which we had not had before.

I've known them for years; I've had them for years. We used Angie's List to follow up and double check some stuff. Everything they did was fine. I had no complaints with any of it. They are a real good company to work with. With regard to price, I could have beaten them at a couple of other places, but I liked the quality of their stuff better. I went with them because of the quality. They were here when they said they were going to be. They got it done immediately and were on their way. With regard to punctuality, they were very good. They were very professional. They came out for the estimates and explained to me what they needed to do. It made it a lot easier on me.

Overall, it was a mixed experience. I needed a new weather strip at the bottom of my 16-foot-wide garage door. The original weather-strip (also installed years ago by Overhead Door, as part of a new home construction) was about 4 inches too short, so leaves and debris from adjacent trees were frequently blown into the garage at both ends of the door. The appointment part of the experience started off rather well. I called the company at about 11AM (12/08/14) and received a same day appointment within a 2PM ? 6PM window. That probably should have alerted me that such a quick appointment was a sign of a very low demand for this company?s services, rather than the superb service and excellent value I was unrealistically expecting (Angie?s 32-review based A-rating notwithstanding). I told the receptionist the size, make and model number of the garage door and explained it needed a new weather seal across the bottom. I asked what it would cost and was told $96 for the service plus $2.95 to $4.95 per foot material + tax. That was significantly higher than another company had quoted, but I felt the same day service and direct experience with the Overhead garage door that I have was worth the premium charges. The technician arrived within the large 4-hour window as promised. Much to my surprise and frustration, however, he did not have the needed weather seal in his truck, nor was he willing to get it and come back within the same day to provide the requested service. He also revealed for the first time that in addition to the $96 service fee, there was a $20 per 15 minutes of labor fee. I pointed out to him that I gave the receptionist the size, make and model number of the door when I made the appointment. There was therefore no reason for him to be showing up at my home within the appointed time entirely unable to perform the requested work. He apparently failed to see any problem with that at all, as he explained that he received his assignment only a few minutes before he arrived at my home and did not normally carry the unusual part in his truck, nor did he have any reason to have it with him prior to his morning departure, which preceded my 11AM appointment call. His perfunctory appearance at my door was intended to meet the same-day-service that his company advertised, although technically speaking it was same-day-non-service that was being provided. I also asked if he could reduce the price given the fact that his company was responsible for the too-short weather-strip in the first place. The technician said he was not authorized to alter the pricing, so I asked him to check with a supervisor. The supervisor offered a $64.20 maintenance/diagnostic fee (tax included, payable in advance) in place of the $96 service call (actually $102.72 with tax), and 20% off on the part (saving an additional $11) to be installed the following day. I asked if I could also use the advertised 5% Angies List discount, but he declined to honor that coupon given the other discounts that were being offered. I reluctantly agreed to accept his offer, as I needed to move on to other more important home-maintenance issues. The technician showed up the next day on time with the requested door seal. He installed it within a few minutes without issue and also lubricated the garage door rollers, spring and the curved part of the door rail. He also replaced two bent roller brackets. The total price was $154.08. Without the negotiated discount, it would have been about $50 more. The service offered was very fast, but if you can wait more than a day or two you can save quite a bit with other A-rated Angie?s List companies both in material and labor costs.
Description of Work: Garage door weather-seal replacement was requested and scheduled twice.

I made an appointment for a 2:00 to 4:00 window. Since I was at work, I arranged for someone to drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque to be there during the service window and provided that person's phone number to the technician. The technician called at 1:15 and said he would be at the house within 10 minutes. When he was told that no one would be there until 2:00 (the scheduled time), he refused to wait. My helper completed her drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque and the technician had already left. Overhead door was completely unapologetic and unresponsive. I called the residential service manager. The call went straight to voicemail and no one cared enough to return my call. When the work was completed a few days later, it was done satisfactorily, although some of my tools were shoved out of the way and in danger of falling and breaking.

The sales rep. who gave an estimate was punctual and very pleasant. He also answered a number of questions I thought of after he left and seemed happy to do it via email when I indicated I preferred that to a phone call. His responded quickly and in detail to my questions. This was one of the things that made me feel comfortable using Overhead Door. The installers were expected at 9:00 and called at around 8:10 to say they could be at my place in 15 to 20 minutes. I don't think I have ever had people come early. They are generally late if anything. So, this impressed me. They were both also very polite and got the job done within the 3 hours that the sales rep. indicated it would take. They also were happy to answer a number of questions for me. One thing I did not like is that they left a sign indicating that Overhead had installed a door for me in my front yard. I did not notice it until they left and they had not asked my permission. But that is a VERY small complaint and easy to deal with
Description of Work: Replaced my old non-insulated garage door with an insulated one. A manual lock was installed and I also purchased a garage door opener because one of mine was not working. I had one of the people installing check the old one and try to make it work, but he could not either.

The gentleman arrived on time, was polite and professional, and worked very hard as he had to completely remove and then install everything except automatic opener and then get things to work properly . Everything was removed from site and he swept up all after he finished. There was a very little damage to some of the immediate area of the ceiling where the old ceiling mounts had to be removed, but this is not really noticable and affects nothing and can be easily patched. The doors look very nice and, while I have not had them but a few days and really don't like to comment on their performance with such a short time having passed since the installation, so far they are working very well. The lady who answered the phone to set up appointment with sales person was very pleasant and the salesman was prompt and even changed something for me after I had set up the installation appointment. All in all, a very good experience.
Description of Work: One single and one double garage door replaced. The garage door opener for the double had been replaced 3 or 4 years ago and was good quality so they didn't replace that, just reconnected and adjusted. The single door was not on an automatic opener as that section of the garage is walled off to serve as a workroom.

It went great, Jake was a very courteous and professional guy. Gave us our options without any hard-sell which was really great. The installation was done extremely fast and he was quick to answer any questions about operation. He also gave us some good tips such as using regular incandescent bulbs for the lights since whenever he's had to change out a motherboard the fluorescent bulbs were always what the customer was using. Only one minor negative, some screws were left on our garage floor which of course aren't good for tires but that's ok. Another thing which is no reflection on Jake is the company offers a $10 off coupon for making your appt. online which they won't combine w/ the 5% discount for Angie's List members which is a drag. You have to figure out which option will save you more money. Besides those two small issues great service at a great price! Would use again.

Well, I bit. I expected the spring (only) to be replaced but I allowed myself to be upsold. Last time (about 3 or 4 years ago), I got the job done for far cheaper. But, and I knew, the springs were mismatched but didn't care. I replaced rollers myself and got exactly what I paid for. The door now operates perfectly, far more quietly, and I don't have to worry again for several years. Sean was very professional and friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. I paid way more than what I was expecting to pay, but he quoted me beforehand and I agreed. It wasn't like sticker shock or anything after the fact. Sean was very personable and professional. The job was done quickly and professionally. I got to thinking how much I would have been willing to pay had there only been "emergency service" available on a Saturday. He brought along a "ride along" from the office so she could observe the job and be better able to speak to customers on the phone from the office. This tells me that the company is willing to invest in their people so the person on the phone doesn't have to say, "I only answer the phone; you'll have to speak to the tech." Very professional, nice business model; I will use them again. More than I expected to pay, but worth it!

The J hook on our garage door twisted and creased the top panel. Scheduled appointment online that night for repair/estimate/advice regarding whether it could be fixed and whether it was worth fixing. The office contacted us next morning and arrived that day. We asked for a 20-30 minute call in advance of arrival so my wife could leave work and meet them without delay. The serviceman didn't get that instruction. He arrived ahead of the estimated time, and called from our driveway wondering why no one was there to meet him. When my wife arrived, serviceman told her it was a cheap door that the builders put in all of these tract homes in SW ABQ; we were lucky it lasted this long (house was finished in 2006); we got what we paid for and we should have expected as much. Would not even look at adjustments--said door was not fixable; the brackets were pulling through the door, etc. Quoted ~$600 to replace the panel; but recommended replacing the entire crappy door for ~$1000, and more if we wanted better than this crappy door. Charged $90 for the "estimate" and left. Next business day I called the office, re: dissatisfied with charge for $90 estimate. Was told that I checked the "repair" block when using the online scheduling tool. To provide what I asked for, they sent a repair truck rather than an estimator in a car. Thus, we were charged for a base minimum repair truck call. Refused to refund the $90 fee, refused to cut it by 50%, did agree to have Manager call me. Manager didn't call, I called again. Manager gave me the same cheap-crappy-door spiel the serviceman gave my wife; told me I filled out the online appointment request wrong and was charged accordingly. Manager then magnanimously offered to refund $10 as online booking discount. Although I told Manager not to bother, my credit card was credited with $10 that same day, just as Manager said. As satisfying as having salt poured in a wound. Net cost I think was ~$80-90. EPILOGUE: My neighbor took me to Lowe's, bought <$15 of metal plates, brackets, nuts, bolts, and screws. In less than an hour, we reinforced the bracket attachments that were pulling through the door. Last night (11.5 months later) the door would not rise beyond 2 feet. When closed, the cables on both sides were slack; I could spin the overhead crossbar by hand. We called a sole proprietor this morning; he said probably both springs are broke. Sometimes only one spring breaks, causing added stress on the brackets which then start to pull out of the door (last year). He had a heavier duty repair/upgrade kit (<$200 installed), and would come at our convenience for a free estimate, and would repair if necessary. As agreed, he called 25 minutes before arriving, confirmed both springs were broke; and replaced them with beefier kit for under $190 in ~40 minutes. He also added a support bracket for the center J-hook; lubed the rail roller wheels; adjusted the rail alignment (all no additional charge) and explained what he was doing and how we could & should grease the roller wheels ourselves twice per year. ,
Description of Work: The J hook on our garage door twisted and creased the top panel. Scheduled online appointment that night for an estimate/advice. Contacted us and arrived next day.
