Ortega's Appliance Service Today Inc

Stan the technician came out for a service call as the local service company for an international company (SMEG). He was timely, polite thorough and very easy to talk to. Scheduling over the phone was easy too. Very nice experience.

They were excellent. They came in a timely fashion. They were professional. They were fair priced. I was very pleased. I have used them before. I do not have any concerns. I am always pleased with their work and how quickly they get out here when I need them.

They have good service but they're quite expensive. It's pretty quick to get an appointment. The guy who did the service was knowledgeable and friendly. He showed me how to keep the coils on my refrigerator clean. He showed me the different parts that he was working on and he provided advice about the loading of the washing machine.

I have never used them before, and I actually haven't had the reason to use them since, but he was very prompt, very professional, showed up on time, and did a good job.

I'm an out of town owner so I really appreciated the quick responce to my call. They were able to go out the next day. My inital call the pm before. The refrig "came back on" by the appointment time. Joe V cleaned the condenser and adjusted the door as it wasn't shutting off the light every time. So far this has seemed to work. I'm very happy they were able to keep this old refrig going !!! Was wondering how I was going to pay for a new one right now. Thank you !!!!

We have used them twice and been very satisfied. They are really professional and know what they are doing. They are like auto mechanics. If you get a good one you swear by them and if you get a bad one you wish you hadn't. They charge a fair price.

I've had them over several times to look at other appliances like my oven. I've always had good experiences with them and recommend them highly.

I truly was not impressed with Ortega's. Although the diagnostic testing the tech performed on my front loading washer went perfectly, he told me the following: "from what you're telling me it's probably the CPU that needs to be replaced". He gave me a worst scenario quote for fixing the machine which was several hundred dollars...and this quote was based on what I told him, not because of anything he actually found wrong. I then told him about a video I watched for the problem the machine was experiencing and how the technician in the video stated t could be a loose connection between wires in the CPU and the MCU and by strengthening these connections, it would stop the error code from happening. First, I was shocked that I had to tell him about this technique and that he didn't already know this could possible resolve the issue. The tech told me he opened the back of the machine and strengthened these connections. We ran a cycle and it went just fine...as it did when he first arrived and did the diagnostic. There is no way on the face of the earth that he could have opened the back of this washer without actually pulling the washer away from the wall....which was never done the whole time he was at my home. Bottom line, I would not use them again as their first piece of advice was replacing all the processing units in the machine rather than checking to see if it was a connection problem. Plus $90.00 for a service call is ridiculous.

I was impressed right from the start. I went to the company website and saw that I could make an appointment online. Within an hour, someone called to confirm it and to set up a time. The technician, Joe Valenzuela, arrived the next day (yes!) and determined that the reason the freezer was not cooling very well was that the fan was dying. He did not have a new fan on his truck but said that he would order one for us. I assumed it would take some time before I heard from him again because the next day was Christmas. To my great surprise, the office called me the day after Christmas, first thing in the morning, to set up a time for Joe to bring the new fan and install it. I still don't know how he managed to get one so quickly, but I was thrilled. The next day, I received an email from the office containing my invoice and a request for feedback. I think this may be the very first time any home-improvement company has asked for my feedback. Again, I was impressed. In the future when I need this kind of service, you can be sure I won't go anywhere else but Ortega's.

When the technician arrived he quickly found the problem and had the part that needed to be replaced and installed. I was very pleased that I had a working oven again in time for Christmas baking.

Stan was prompt, as a repair service needs to be if you are having problems with a freezer. He discovered my problem, but indicated it might be just a one-time thing. If it turns out that the control is intermittent and not trustworthy, he will replace it. I appreciated his efficiency and honesty. I called ABC first, and the girl on the phone said she could have someone here on SATURDAY! (This is Thursday.... I wonder what their definition of emergency might be?)

The service technician was professional and pleasant. Although he did not have the part in his truck he offered to pick it up at the GE warehouse and install it immediately . The repair cost was rather high in my opinion. The fan was $74, and the installation labor (10 minutes) was $145 for a total of $213.57 including tax and $20 Angie's list discount.

They were recommended to me by a lot of people. It did not cost anything because they were coming back on a prior service, to check something for me. They are known to be very honest and are very good. When they come, they are usually working on appliances. I trust them and they are very honest people. They seem to be able to repair anything that you call them out for. They have a good reputation in town. They will call and let me know that they are coming on the day of the service. They can usually fit someone into their schedule almost right away. We have used them for years and I have never had a problem at all.

Called this morning and Ortega's responded within a matter of a few hours with a service call. Other well-rated repair services couldn't schedule for a week or more. Service man showed up as promised. Very courteous and competent. Undertook the repair quickly, which involved pulling the ovens out of the wall. Did the repair and offered advice and additional help with parts as needed. Excellent service.

Called Ortega's yesterday to schedule repair on our refrigerator. Amber in the office was very friendly and helpful. We scheduled an appointment for today between 1 and 3 and the repairman was to call when he was on his way. He called at 12:30 and said he'd be here in a half hour, and he arrived promptly. It turned out the problem was very minor in nature so no parts were required. the repairman, Joe Valenzuela, was extremely friendly, professional and obviously an expert as he fixed the problem in less than five minutes. We have used Ortega's before (before I was an Angie's list user) and have always found them to be very reputable. A business doesn't stay in business for as long as they have unless they are doing things right.

From the phone call to inquire to Mr. Otero's exit from my home, cordial, reliable, professional service prevailed.

They gave me an Angie’s List discount of $20. I had them work on another appliance before and I was not very excited but I thought I would give them another chance. It was a Maytag refrigerator. I had two problems with it; one was that the ice dispenser stuck open so when I was dispensing ice it would just keep running and I had to switch a couple of times and another one was that it had a leak. I called them and they were very quick about their response; they were here thirty six hours later. They came out, explained what was going on, and went to work. They fixed the switch on the machine; it did not take any parts, they just had to reinstall some film. When they diagnosed where the leak was from, they found out that there was a clog in the deep frost line and cleared that out. Everything was fine and I was pretty happy afterwards. It was not cheap because they were here only for an hour; I think that was a little above average but they did good work.

The technician arrived when promised, diagnosed the problem quickly, and repaired the washer within minutes. Works great now. Labor charge was a little high but you get what you pay for.

I highly recommend Ortega's Appliance Service Today. I have 10 year old GE Profile Artica refrigerator. Imagine my surprise when I returned home from a big grocery shopping trip to find my refrigerator temperature much higher than expected. At first I thought it was just from leaving the door open while unloading groceries. But after 30 minutes temperature continued to climb. I considered getting a new refrigerator, but when I saw the cost, decided to try repairing this one. I have never used Ortega's but they were able to send Joe V. out within a couple of hours. He immediately diagnosed the problem, had the part in the truck, and was done within thirty minutes. I then asked about my LG washing which had been making a loud noise when spinning ever since I washed a King sized comforter. Joe explained that big items sometimes cause the machine to move, especially when they are up on pedestals like mine. He charged a minimal fee and leveled it and it fixed the problem. I was extremely pleased as I figured I was in for another expensive repair. I really appreciate the prompt response and the honesty of this gentlemen. I know nothing about appliances and he could have seriously overcharged me. Also I was grateful that helped me with the washing machine since I initially only called about the fridge. I will definitely use Ortega's again. Also they have a 5 year parts and 1 year labor warranty. Another plus.

Joe, the technician, thoroughly checked over the Whirlpool top loading washer which took about 15 minutes, and found nothing wrong with the machine. He next asked for some towels to duplicate a wash similar to those that had been giving problems, and ran it through the cycle with the lid open. This demonstrated that the load was not circulating properly because the drum was too full. In addition, it demonstrated that detergent was being left in the towels as they were not being properly rinsed. This was sufficient to convince us that we were the problem, not the machine. We had routinely used the second rinse under the impression that this got more of the soap out of the towels. He informed us that, if the machine were properly loaded, this step would not be necessary, and would only waste water and electricity. It was an expensive lesson, but worth it! It will be worth it to read the instruction manual and follow its instructions more closely.

repairman came in, diagnosed found the plastic panel was the issue not the electronics board, quoted the parts & stated he would return call with info once ordered. Folks called back to let us know the color was no longer available and what we wished to do. They searched in several places and came up with the item in black. My husband and I discussed and decide to go with it, they ordered it and a week later came to install.

Overall, we're very pleased with the outcome.
