Ortega's Appliance Service Today Inc

I have used Ortega's for the last five years to repair my washing machine, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Ortega's technicians are professional, knowledgeable, and the quality of their work is excellent. My latest call to Ortega's for an estimate to repair my dishwasher. The technician, his initials are RE, spent about 45 minutes troubleshooting our dishwasher. When he found the problem he gave a thorough explanation of what was needed to repair our dishwasher. In the end it was more cost effective to replace the dishwasher than repair it. I really appreciated the time RE took to explain the problem and my options. I would definitely recommend Ortega's Appliance Service.

DO NOT USE. About a month ago our dishwasher washing pump went out. I knew exactly what the issue was. I’ve hired Ortega’s in the past. Scheduled, tech arrived and within 10 minutes he states it’s the pump and the mother board due to 2 fuses being blown. Which I found hard to believe. He gave this outrageous quote and said it could take a year to get a motherboard shipped. Got a second opinion from a different company and they confirmed it was only the pump, and that Ortega’s was price gouging and making up repairs just to squeeze people for more money. Ortega’s take advantage of the fact that people will pay practically anything to get their appliances fixed. Avoid this company.

They did not give up on the problem that I had, they persevered, they had to come back 4 times to get the problem solved and they only charged me for one visit, even the owner came out to check and solve my problem, they eventually discovered that the fan I needed was no longer available, the final advice was to put back the original fan, and putting back the old fan solved the issue of the freezer. I have used them twice already and will definitely use them again in the future.

Excellent service. The technician was very well qualified and professional, and cleaned up after himself very well, even going so far as to wipe off fingerprints from the stainless steel exterior. I would recommend Ortega's without reservation.

Found problem quickly and repaired.

When I explained the symptoms to the technician, he immediately diagnosed the problem as a plugged drain vent. He cleaned it out and then checked the dishwasher performance. The problem is solved. He also had some good advice about avoiding the problem in the future.

Very well, we continue to use their services

He was great! He did a wonderful job and his customer service was wonderful. He explained things well and said I have 45 days if I have problems for them to come out with no charge. He let me know what kind of extra services I could get. I will use them again and have recommended them to others.

We took his advice and bought new dish washer

Ortega's tech (Joe) showed up on time diagnosed the issue, performed the work he could do and ordered the required parts. He showed up the following week with the required parts, installed them, but the load of the new motor shorted out a circuit board. Normally the refrigerator would have been out of service for at least a week while the board was rebuild. Joe knew we were having 20 people to the house over the weekend and he took the initiative to locate a new part, returned the same day and installed it. He was also driving a domestic branded van, which is a positive since we need to support US industry.

The service part was great. The technician was familiar with the Whirlpool washer and painstakingly diagnosed what could be wrong for almost two hours. The news wasn't good -- the washer needs to be replaced since the entire electronic system is shot. However, rather than try replacing expensive parts here and there and hope for the best -- he had experience with this problem with Whirlpools -- he advised me that the parts and service would likely be close to the cost of a new washer and recommended replacement. This is my second experience with Ortega's. I find them competent, professional, and honest. I will continue to use them as my appliance repair company of choice.

I e-mailed Ortega's on Sunday night through their web-site for an appointment and as of Wednesday, I have no response from them. I asked them to call me at their convenience as I feel this situation is a bit dangerous and no reply. Disappointed! Why would a company have an on-line contact form is they don't respond? That speaks volumes to me. Perhaps this review will get their attention.

Wonderful! Stanley did a beautiful job. He was very courteous and professional (he even wore booties around his shoes while in my house). He gave me all kinds of good advice on the other appliances in my house as well. I will use Ortega's for all of my future appliance servicing needs, and highly recommend them!

I will never call another appliance service company, and recommend them to everyone I know (which I rarely do). Ortega's has friendly phone service, and the best repair personnel around. Everyone I encountered on each service were helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. In both repair cases, I was expecting to be without the appliance for weeks (which stinks when it is the dishwasher and dryer with two kids), but both were fixed almost immediately. In the case of the dryer, I was without for less than 24 hours! Not sure how they do it, but I was very pleased!!

I noticed water leaking from the bottom of my front loading washing machine. I knew that couldn't be good news. I checked to make sure that all the hoses were properly connected to the machine, and when I discovered that they were I knew I needed a professional. So, the great Angie's List search began! I came across Ortega's, and noticed they had high marks in all areas of service, and I decided to give them a call. I'm glad I did. The service was top notch and highly professional right from the beginning. When I called Ortega's I spoke to a friendly individual who scheduled for me to be seen the next day. I was relieved to get in so quickly in that I was afraid that I might have to wait for days or a week. To my surprise, within an hour Ortega's called back, and notified me that a technician could actually come right away to assess the situation. I was like, "Awesome!" Anthony, the technician, was a professional. He quickly identified the cause of the leak, educated me about the cause, as well as preventative measures for the future, and had the problem fixed in no time. I was worried that I might get hit with a heavy price tag, but the price was very reasonable. I'd use these folks again in a heartbeat!

Very professional, comprehensive quality service. Tried one correction. When that didn't work to mine and their satisfaction they returned and replaced the unit.

The freezer stoped working. We had transferred most of the food to other refrigerators and cooked other items. I had called around but no other service took on the job of repairing a freezer. He came and immediately realized that I could not buy another freezer at this time. Money is tight. So he sat and defrosted the freezer by blowing air and heat. rather than saying he will come back when it is defrosted. the man was very friendly and courteous. Professional , explaining all to me with patience I am almost 88 years old. I am very grateful and pleased.

Fixed a switch on our Microwave/Convection oven. Technician put on booties when he entered our home and LEFT EVERYTHING the way he found it!!! Absolutely no mess at all!!

We had a Whirlpool Gas Stove we installed in 2004 after we purchased this home. It had a self-cleaning feature as one of the key components we wanted. When this self-clean feature was used, it would overheat and shut down, specifically lock down - the oven door which could not be opened until a service technician disassembled the stove in order to do so. Also the four burners were not operable, even after the self clean feature had shut down. I was recommended and spoke to Manny Ortega just recently, the owner of Ortega's Appliance Service Today, in setting up this service call. I advised him of all we had been through and the several earlier attempts that had failed to repair this stove. He recommended Stanley Ray, as one of his best technicians, to come out. Stanley came, he was on time, an absolute novelty here in New Mexico. Then he was polite and extremely competent in what he did. I not say that I understand what he did, but I certainly do understand results! For the first time in 11 years, the stove actually works in all aspects correctly. This saved us from having to replace this stove. A cost I did not want to incur. I cannot recommend Ortega's and Stanley Ray highly enough for their competence, politeness and timeliness. It is a real pleasure to deal with a professional who supports what he does and I sincerely hope they get to see this evaluation as well. Regards, Pete and Susie

It went well. They came out bright and early on Monday (I scheduled appointment late Friday afternoon). Repair man fixed it and it's working again. He tightened hose which was causing leak. My only issue is that it's leaking again so I need to call them back.

He was honest with me. I would tell a friend that he was honest and straight forward. He gave me great information.

Stanley Ray has been the technician to work on all three appliances. The fridge was a relatively easy fix as was the cooktop, but the fridge required a few visits to sort out. Throughout the repairs, Stanley was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable on all the appliances he was repairing. I would definitely choose them again.
