Description of Work: As a warranty repair on a SpeedQueen top load washer, their technician determined that the water level control knob was defective---it had a vertical crack along its mounting so that the knob would repeatedly slip out of alignment with the markings on the washer. He first did a temporary repair, as it initially appeared that the replacement knob would have to be got from out of town. Shortly after he left us, he phoned us to tell us that he had traced a source for the knob in town, and he would get one and return shortly to our home to install the new good knob. He returned about 30 minutes later with the correct new knob. Superb service in my opinion. Some days later, SpeedQueen disputed the warranty claim, so I of course promptly paid Ortega's in full for the service call and part.

Description of Work: He determined that the leakage problem was not caused by the washing machine and that it was being caused by a plumbing problem.

Description of Work: Leaking bathtub faucets in 2 bathrooms. Incorrect faucet cartridges initially installed when house was built in 2002 and finally failed. Then same part reinstalled, failed, and finally corrected.

Description of Work: He discovered the float on the dishwasher was stuck from hard water build up. He loosed it and gave us some additive to reduce the buildup in the future. He said it may not work but if it does we would save the cost of the part. It did not work and he returned with a new float and only charged me for the part on the second trip. He was friendly and easy to have in our house.

Description of Work: This is the 2nd time I have used this company. First for a clothes dryer & this time for a side-by-side GE refrigerator. The freezer was not cooling as it should & the light inside the freezer no longer worked. It needed a new 'mother board' which he had on his truck & he replaced it right then. The switch for the light had to be ordered & he replaced it 2 days later at my convenience. Very pleased. I am impressed with company.

Description of Work: Maytag dishwasher handle broke. Purchased at parts store for $30.00. Was difficult to install so we checked on Angies list. Several sources said Ortega's was the company to call. I called and emailed for service on Monday night. set appointment for Wednesday morning. They called Tuesday morning and came right out. Was able to install my part in less than 15 minutes total. Even with the $10 Angies list coupon, our bill was almost $150 all in labor. I deal with prefessional repair people consistently at work. In Albuquerque the goinng rate is about $75 HOUR. I was astonished that I was charged almost twice this amount for a very simple service call when I supplied the part.

Description of Work: Our new front loading washer was not working properly. The technician came out, determined the problem, went back to get the correct part, and returned within an hour. He replaced the part and ran the machine through a complete cycle to make sure everything was working properly. All is well and we are happy!
