If I could give a higher grade than an "A", I would. Pete and his crew are amazing! They were on time, FAST!, and professional. Our yard before was a complete disaster and now we cannot spend enough time out there! Pete and his crew are totally flexible and listen to your needs, they even took the extra time to help us "dog proof" our yard so it can stay nice (at least stay nice longer). The work they did is beautiful and it was such a pleasure working with his crew. The foreman is totally on it and such a nice guy! Totally willing to take a second to answer questions, even stupid ones (and trust me, I had a few). I used Narrow Leaf last summer as well when we had a sprinkler bust and we had a huge leak. I knew it was a pain in the butt job, and I had called several landscaping companies but no one wanted to do it. However, when I called Narrow Leaf, someone came out the next day at 8 AM and fixed it. That's when I knew that this company would be my landscaping company. If they are willing to do the silly small things, they are willing to go the whole distance. I can not recommend them more highly! Fast, reliable, personable, and hardworking! A+++++++++++++++++++!
Description of Work: What didn't they do to our yard? We got new gravel, new irrigation, demolition of an old, crumbling concrete plant bed, yard clean up, lots of new plants and shrubs, tree pruning, wood steps, completion of a flagstone banco, a completely new yard essentially.

The gravel was not up to the 2" that we had agreed on in the contract. I spoke to Pete the following day and he took care of it immediatly, He had his guys and more gravel layed down the following day. Pete also had them rock in the median between the sidewalk and the sreet curb which was not on the origional contract. I want to say thanks to Pete and Narrowleaf for a job well done. I will be calling them on any big projects in the future

Fantastic. This entire job was completed in two days. The area where the cactus sat previously was absolutely immaculate after the removal. They extended the irrigation from a nearby drip line and placed three one-gallon size xeriscape plants (santolina) to replace the cactus. They carefully marked all the sprinkler heads in the back before removing any sod and did it all quickly and carefully, leaving no mess behind. They even had to move a few sprinkler heads to accommodate the border of pavers, and that was done with no difficulty. The bark was all done in a morning, and there wasn't even anything to sweep up after they transported wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow to my backyard. This company is prompt, courteous and communicative. The owner, Tom Brasby, did our original estimate and came out personally on the second day to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. He is easy to reach by phone or email and very responsive to any questions or concerns I had. The work crew left my yard clean and secure both days when they left (which is very important to me since I have pets that could get it with open gates) and they always called before coming to the job to let me know they were on their way.
Description of Work: The team removed a 4 ft wide prickly pear cactus from my front year, removed all the sod from my backyard, put in large textured pavers as a yard border, and placed new sod. They also brought in and spread quite a bit of small bark for all my flower beds and my garden area.

When's the last time you called and/or used a contractor/builder that returned your calls promptly, arrived on time (or called you to let you know he was running late), and gave you a truly itemized bid for your proposed work, and had professional crews working for him? "Never", you say? Meet Tom Brasby, the owner of Narrow Leaf. Tom returned all of our calls promptly, arrived promptly, gave us the first truly itemized bid I'd ever received from a contractor, and has professional crews working for him. Work started on schedule and was completed a little late due to a cedar decking delivery delay by one of Tom's suppliers. We had two different crews working on our project: a landscaping crew that did our demo and at the end of our project added three courses of blocks to part of our backyard wall and moved a couple of sprinklers and laid a small paver stone area; and a wood decking crew that built the deck and the pergola, and installed two lighting systems and three electrical outlets. Manuel was the landscaping foreman and Cameron was the wood decking foreman. They ran the crews that worked on our project. Cameron and his crews were here for about three weeks. I watched most of their work during that time and I got to know them by name. What I saw was a professional, conscienous crew interested in building the deck and pergola we wanted. They did an excellent job and we are very pleased with the work they did. They arrived each day when they said they would and cleaned up at the end of the day. We now have a beautiful deck and pergola that is very comfortable, beautiful, and useable. Overall, Narrow Leaf is one company I would hire again. Good job Tom, Cameron, Manuel, Jay, Milo, Lyle, Nate, and Theron.
Description of Work: Demoed our old concrete patio and built a 20 x 28 foot elevated cedar deck with a 20 x 21 foot lighted pergola sunshade structure.

I took a broken wood gate/exterior door to Tom to have him give me an estimate to repair it. The wind had slammed it shut on multiple occasions and split the door making it unusable. Tom checked it out and told me what the process would be to correct the problem and the cost. Tom kept me informed along the way and sent me an email with photos of the gate/door when it was completed. The repair came out better than I expected. It looks great and unless you knew the history of it, you would never know that the gate/door had been repaired. I am very happy with Tom's craftsmanship and professionalism and would not hesitate to use or recommend Narrow Leaf.

Hi member, I'm pleased that you were happy with the final project. We did not perform a larger scope of work as it was not necessary. As for the billing there deserves an explanation. We are a fully licensed, bonded and insured company. We pay workman's comp, vehicle insurance, full time office staff and mechanic to better serve our clientele. This incurs an expense to our organization. What we performed was a small one time clean up of your residence. Many unlicensed companies also perform a service like this but charge very little for their work as they have no overhead. We are a legitimate company and a $200.00 charge for sending a crew of men across town for a few hours would not in my view be extreme. I'm very sorry to have disappointed you but it costs a lot of money to run a legal business these days. Enjoy your clean yard and thank you very much for your business. Tom

Pete ,who is the estimater & designer came to our home to evaluate the work to be done.He came up with an acceptable design & price. After beginning the project he noticed a metal sculpture inside our courtyard. He wanted to know who did it and the story behind it. We told him our son who was killed in an avalanche 2 years ago while snowboarding did it. This was the last sculpture he did. Pete changed the design of the project & incorporated the sculpture into the landscaping. It turned out phenominal. Our son would have been so proud . We have people walking down our street stopping asking about it.I even had one lady ask me to hold her dog while she she took a picture .We are so pleased with what Pete came up with. The landscapers were very courteous & informative of what they were doing. Great job.

We strive every minute to make every landscape exceptional and unique in form and substance and on a rare occasion something greater than the creativity of the design staff intervenes; Call it kismet or serendipity, the artwork of a long lost son was the missing catalyst necessary to fuel a spectacular rendering of 3-dimensional art in the form of a landscape. That seed grew inspiration in both the design work and finishing details that completed the project and so even in his absence the artist, the musician, the motorcyclist, the skier that were gifts he carried left a legacy for the living to cherish in memorium. We were privileged to be a part of this process and to share a truly heartfelt camaraderie with the [member name removed] and of course share in mourning the loss of their son, but regale in the beauty he brought forth into this world which is how we like to look at our creative bent...As artists working in a three-dimensional, living canvas.. Thank you [member name removed] for the opportunity to be part of it all. You are3 very special people and we wish you health and happiness and healing every time you look out your window. Pete

We are still using them and everything is going good. We have them scheduled to come back in a week. They did the shrubbery and everything the last time that they did service for us except the six large trees that were brought in by the person who built the pool. They brought in and did everything else but there were also some indigenous trees that were there that were not removed. We would not be going back with them again if we did not like them. I guess that their price was just acceptable. I have not had a lot of landscaping stuff done but the bottom line is that we liked their work. I do not think that they were high priced considering what we had done. They show up when they say that they are going to be here. They have been out here again already and they did some estimates. They have already bought the plants that they will use.
Description of Work: The last time that we used Narrow Leaf Inc. was around August or September of last year for finishing out the landscaping, the planting and the drip systems around the pool that we built.

They're busy, so it took a couple of weeks to get on the schedule. Once scheduled, they came on time (every day until done), cleaned up every day. Jay and Theron were hard workers and always consulted with me when options were available to be sure and give me exactly what I wanted. They upgraded the material because it would result in a better job without charging me extra for it. I would absolutely call them again. If you want quality, call them.

Deck upstairs was demo'd. The team build a roof to catch rain/melting snow from top deck so it would not leak through to patio below. They put in a tongue and groove ceiling with recessed lights hooked to a dimmer switch. Constructed and enlarged the new deck 2nd story deck with composite products and low voltage lighting on each of the balusters. he end result is phenomenal I couldn't be happier with it. It has set the tone for the back yard and was the last piece to be done to tie everything together. This deck and patio will be used for years to come. Their expertise was valuable. I had requested a number of quotes from other contractors. Narrow Leaf was the only company that took the time to fully explain how it was going to be done, why it was being done that way and how long it would take. They, in summary, went the extra mile. The Team was always ready to answer my questions, was there promptly on time each day and constructed an excellent products. Since Narrow Leaf is also a landscaping company and they fixed my sprinkler system in the back yard by replacing some heads and replacing a leaking valve. The pulled old plant material out in the front of the house and planted three new shrubs that I had already purchased. I would highly recommend them..

This was our third experience with Narrow Leaf, who previously built a solar-specific shade structure for our front porch, and also installed our irrigation system. Based on our previous experience, and though we shopped around on this project, we decided they were our go-to company for this project. Our back yard was a large expanse of rock, and needed pavers to control rock movement and damage caused by our menagerie of dogs. An additional challenge was presented by about four different styles of patio pavers and incomplete walkways that had been installed over the years- somehow these had to be tied together in a harmonious way, as we did not have the budget nor inclination to tear it all out and start anew. We also wanted to use up some pavers we had on hand. And very importantly- we wanted, finally, to have a beautiful and cohesively designed yard to enjoy! Ours was not an easy cookie cutter project. As we have confidently come to expect, Tom arrived promptly, listened carefully to our plan, and added several of his own ideas re. design and materials. He also figured out ways to use our available pavers and incorporate them into the overall design. His bid for this somewhat complicated project arrived very promptly as well. The crew arrived promptly on the day scheduled- and each day until project completion. Manuel took charge, and he, Alfonso, and Nate worked efficiently as a team to complete the project on schedule. We can't commend the quality of their work highly enough; the pathways were placed with precision and care, our uneven pavers were re-leveled, and Tom's ideas for visually blending the various old paver styles worked beautifully- not an easy task for the crew. Also, we had what we thought was a small 'stash' of cobblestones in a far corner that we hoped to use up for this project. It turned out we had a LOT of cobblestones, that had to be dug out from where they were semi-buried, and then placed appropriately..... and revised a final time due to our design changes. This could be frustrating for a crew on a time-line, but these men were courteous, extremely hard-working, efficient, and precise throughout. Cleanup each evening and upon completion was exemplary- absolutely no sign of work in progress. We could not be more pleased with the final result. Our goal of finally putting to use our varied collection of pavers an cobblestones was an unqualified success- with absolutely no pressure to purchase all new (Kudos to Tom- who by the way remained available throughout to discuss questions or concerns.) The conglomerate of old paver styles blends cohesively with the new. The paver pathways, cobblestones, and boulders are beautifully placed and installed, and combine with our previous plantings into a harmonious whole. The end result exceeds our initial expectations. We are completely delighted with this, our third major project with Narrow Leaf. They would be our first choice for any further projects, and we give them a glowing recommendation.
Description of Work: Installed long winding cemented paver pathways, decorative cobblestone & boulders. Completed previously started walkways. Reset to proper grade portions of existing paver patio and walkways. Incorporated creative ways to use our old supply of pavers with new material for a cohesive design. Top-dressed rock throughout. Re-set previously installed irrigation lines. Added a drainage valve to lawn irrigation system to prevent future freeze breakage. Work took approximately 2 1/2 days.

No complaints; the wall came out looking great. The work crew was friendly and did a high-quality job. (BTW, I put a zero in approximate cost as I cannot remember the cost offhand and don't want to provide an erroneous estimate)
Description of Work: This was an "upgrade" from our original backyard landscaping, also done by Narrow Leaf more that a year earlier. We had them plant several Aspen trees (along with tapping into our existing irrigation system to provide water for those new trees), install some trellises along our block-wall fences, spread some Santa Fe brown gravel in some areas that were thin in terms of gravel coverage, and raise the height of the section of the backyard wall that runs parallel to a street behind our house.

Their service was okay. I can't complain. However, we did have a temperature gauge on the front and it is connected to a satellite but after they trimmed the bushes, it disappeared. I don't know if they knocked it off but when they come back I'll ask them if they found it on the ground. But they're nice. They really do a good job. We have a lot of bushes, lots of Pyracantha. It has a lot of thorns, hard to deal with and dangerous if you fall on it, but they know how to handle it. I have already gone to four providers for the same services but it's Narrow Leaf Inc that I would use again!

The price was great and it was under bid but I was very disappointed with the length of time it took the project to be completed. It was really upsetting. They gave me excuses. Another part of the problem, they came out to repair a door which is now broken in less than a month or two. In fairness to them, I haven't called them about that door but hopefully, they will come back and fix it but its back to be broken again just the way it was before. At first it was fixed to my satisfaction and I approved it so I was happy but now it came back to the problem that I had before. I have not yet complained to them about it but I planned to do it.

The installation crew was friendly and competent. They went out of their way to satisfy the customer. Narrow Leaf is not cheap by any measure. I can't over emphasize the need to include all details in the official contract, even if that means going through several revisions. The job was scheduled to last 3 1/2 weeks. It took almost 6 weeks. Which included(a week) of waiting for material corrections to be redelivered. It was not a perfect job but was quite acceptable.

The consultation - the gentleman was very honest with me and told me that I didn't need to do anything, the ponding area should never pose a threat to the house. I appreciated that he gave me this advice and did not try to sell me anything that was not necessary. He gave me some ideas as to how to update my cracking concrete patio without repouring the concrete. I would definitely investigate his suggestions when I am ready to do the work.

It wasn't the cheapest estimate, but I liked and trusted the owner from the beginning. Even though my deck was a small space outside the master bedroom, he listened to my desires and gave me options for the project. His crew were on time and the result was what I expected. There were a couple of small things left undone that were remedied within a reasonable timeframe. I'm going to use him for my next 2 fencing projects.
Description of Work: Re[;aced old back deck with compositie, repaired and stained front deck, buildt a small privacy fence around hot tub, buildt a small gate to hot tub area.
