The deck team was two men, Jeff and unfortunately I didn't get the other gentleman's name. They were extremely professional and thorough while consulting me on anything and everything that they deemed relevant. This was my first experience hiring a job out and I was very happy with the experience. Both gentlemen were articulate and experts in their field. Our deck was a 14'x18' and it only took three to complete!

It was generally good. They did a really nice job.

I called Narrow Leaf because of the good reviews I found for the company here on Angie's List. I was soon able to speak with the owner, Tom, and schedule an appointment. He was early to the appointment and very professional and personable from the beginning. Between the time I spoke with him initially to describe what I wanted to have done and the appointment, my thoughts had changed. That was no problem for him. Tom has obviously had a lot of experience in the field and was able to answer my questions well and offer appropriate suggestions. He was quick and efficient, but I did not feel rushed. He provided a detailed and thorough estimate within two days, breaking down and pricing each category of work. We had several good estimates for the work, and it was a hard decision. Although we choose not to go with Narrow Leaf, I am confident that, had we made that decision to go with them, the job would have been very well done.

Our yard had a large slope and severe erosion. The erosion had exposed the rebar and footer of our back wall. Wanting to make an area that was safe for our kids to play, we began getting estimates for a retaining wall. We found quickly that this was going to be a very large job. We received estimates from 5 landscaping companies. We decided to go with Narrow Leaf despite the wait time and price being slightly higher than the others, because we instantly liked Tom and felt he was the most professional and knowledgeable. We are so glad we went with Narrow Leaf! Tom continued to be easy to work with and answered our emails almost immediately. We were equally impressed with the crew that performed the work. The crew was hard working and did a great job! We now have a solid wall and a much larger space for our kids. We will most definitely recommend Narrow Leaf to everyone we know and we hope to use them again in the near future to perfect our outdoor living space. They made this overwhelming project easy and it was a pleasure to work with them!

Tom came over to our place to give us a quote after we contacted him. He worked with us on our project within our budget. He responded to our emails and questions promptly. The pavers turned out really pretty and the concrete pouring and color looks good together with the retainer walls that was put in. His workers that came to work on the project were friendly and helpful professionally. Even though they could not start the project after giving us the quote (because they had many other projects on hand), the wait was worth while. We can now enjoy our backyard (without worrying about weeds). :) We would recommend Narrow Leaf company.

The owner Tom was insightful, knowledgeable and experienced. If we would have used Douglas Fir for the construction of the porch Narrow Leaf would have received our business. We chose to match the current architecture of the our home and went with a custom builder.

After reading the positive reviews here, I went to their website and requested an appointment via their website. This was a few months ago and I never received a call or email back. I really needed to get my home landscaped so I decided to try again, again because of the positive reviews here. This time I called and spoke to a woman who took my name and phone number. She told me she would pass along my information to have 'him' call to schedule a time to come to my home. It has now been over a week and I still haven't heard back. I am assuming they do not want or need my business. A shame really. I'm glad others have had such positive experiences but I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service shown.

I chose NarrowLeaf from among 5 landscapers listed because of promptness of communication, and because of a good scheduled appearance with the owner, Tom. He had many creative ideas and contacts as well. Tom assured me that he only had hard workers who were multi-skilled. I believed him, and found when I met his crew that there was respect all around - pretty rare these days! The promised ability to follow through on all of the commitments in the contract was fulfilled with timeliness, personal care and expertise. I'm glad I chose NarrowLeaf for all of this extensive work! Each thing was done in an orderly and efficient fashion with essential cleanup at the end of the day. There was always one lead crew manager or supervisor. Daily contact in person or on site with the owner by the manager each day was the norm. If there was a potential problem or change, I heard from or saw the owner as soon as possible. There was a plan for the day with efficient follow through. When a few things were changed and/or added, the entire crew cheerfully did the job until completion. Would I recommend them to others? Certainly would!! Would I hire them again for another job? In a flash!! Excellence and integrity deserve an excellent review!

They're fabulous. We always have them back. Whenever I do a landscaping project, I always use them. I'm going to have them come back and take out the turf. They're very knowledgeable. They clearly know what they're doing. They work with you. They want to know what you want. They listen to you. We worked together fine. I love the owner, Tom. He's a very nice person and he'll work with you to figure out what type of plans and if you like this kind of lavender. He gives good advice and takes the time to figure out what you want and help you plan and everything. They come and they do the work really well. If you have any questions, he's available right away. It's really good. You don't have to watch them and follow up on them and all that kind of stuff. They know what to do. I like it when the people that come are supervised so I don't have to watch them and they're good with that. They finish the project to your satisfaction, the way that you've asked and it's taken care of by the people in charge. I give him high rating on everything.

Tom came out to give me an estimate for a ramp starting out the front door of my grandmothers house. He was very honest and professional in our initial meeting. Sent me the quote quickly...delivered as promised. Tom called when his crew was going to be late. The crew worked hard to make up for the time they were late- stayed until the job was done. Work was great...these guys took a lot of pride in the work they performed. Did a wonderful job cleaning up after themselves...all around a great transaction. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

It could not have gone better. Tom Brasby was wonderful - he did exactly what he said he would when he said he would and could not have been more helpful. This was a perfect experience!

We put this project off for some time because we have not enjoyed our past dealings with contractors. However, this project went smooth as silk. Tom was prompt and professional with estimates and made some very good suggestions on a number of topics. His crew members did a very high quality job, respected our house and property and were true gentlemen. One of the things that impressed me was the fact that he chose not to bid on a couple of the subprojects because they were not things they were good at. Instead, he referred us to specialists. A lot of companies do not have the ability to say no to potential revenue. We highly recommend Narrow Leaf.

Tom came out to give us a second estimate (we had him out a year earlier, but were ready to do the work now). We modified a few things and he helped us think through exactly what we wanted and needed. We didn't have enough supporting structure on our house, so they added some new facia board and supports for attaching the structure. When they came out to install the aluminum pergola, the posts weren't right... the concrete support was showing above the ground, so we called Tom to talk to him about it. The structure had not yet been installed at that point, so they ordered the longer posts needed to make it like we wanted it, and came the next week to finish it up. It looks beautiful, exactly what we wanted. Since it was installed during the winter when the sun is low in the sky, we are excited to see the difference it makes in the summer when we really need more shade. The crew were all very professional and cleaned up each day they were there. We were very happy with the work this company did, and would recommend them.

While all 3 projects went very well, their work on the deck railing exceeded our expectations. We wanted a custom railing similar in design to one we had found on the website Houzz. The owner Tom Brasby was very excited about the opportunity to take on a new & unique design. However, because NarrowLeaf hadn't done one like this before, we initially were a bit apprehensive about their ability to pull it off. Tom and I worked well together on working out dimensions and details, and once I saw his first mock-up, a lot of our apprehension melted away. The final fabrication and installation is beautiful and shows excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. It could not have turned out better. In a more general sense, Tom is great to work with. Very personable, he takes the time to walk and talk through a project so that owner and contractor have a complete understanding of means & methods, options, expectations and schedule. Tom's depth and range of knowledge in irrigation and landscape structures is evident when you talk with him. His crews are also very pleasant to work with, very professional and personable, hardworking, and exhibit good ingenuity when faced with unforeseen conditions. NarrowLeaf may not be the cheapest option in the market, but they provide the confidence and peace of mind that the work will be done right, done well, and done on time. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

This job was professionally done from beginning to end! I spoke with Tom about what I wanted, he came out and drew up a plan which was agreeable with me. Three men came out to do the job and they were completely organized....had everything they needed and never had to leave to get something they forgot! They worked hard, asked me if there were any questions, worked with me on placing the plants, were very easy and nice to work with and they spoke English which made it easier for me. I was very impressed with their work and their demeanor. I am quite pleased with the new look and certainly glad to downsize the grass area!

Narrow Leaf did a good job. They followed through on exactly what they promised. I am happy. I'll do business with them again.

Narrow Leaf's quote was lower than estimates from other landscaping companies, and Tom was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time going over what I wanted to have done in our initial consultation. He was also very responsive when I called him with questions or problems. The crews who worked on the carport and font porch did a really good job, and were very professional, polite and good about cleaning up after the work was done. The crew who put out the gravel and planted the plants worked very hard spreading all the gravel around the front and back yard, and they were also good about cleaning up afterwards. Carlos was so nice, and was great to work with -- he was very responsive to suggestions about how I wanted certain things done, and also provided helpful advice. All in all, a very good experience!

While I experienced difficult interaction with a former NL employee during the initial construction process as well as the first repair attempt, Tom, the owner, came through in the end. He had the unfortunate task of "cleaning up" unknown mistakes. Once he became aware of the issues, he treated the job with integrity and myself with courtesy. Tom really helped allow me to trust NL would and could do the repair. Thank you, Tom. I very much appreciate how you resolved the complaint.

Tom and his team were amazing! Every one was very professional and nice to work with. They showed up every morning on time and ready to work. They were all respectful of my property and kept my backyard clean and free of hazards while they were working. We have a small child and 2 dogs and they were very aware of them and made sure not to leave anything behind that could hurt them. They completed the work in the time that was estimated to us and within the price quote that we were told. We talked to 12 different landscaping companies before we made our decision and I am very pleased that we used Narrow Leaf. Their price is slightly higher than other quotes we got, but it was worth every penny! We will be using them again in the future.

Terrific! Tom and his crew were receptive to our needs. The initial estimate Tom Grasby gave me for the masonry portion of the project was a bit higher than that of two of the other three contractors I received estimates from. However; 'Narrow Leaf' (NL) was also able to arrange for the construction and installation of the entry gate that was required which saved me time (and probably money) that would have been involved in getting another contractor lined up just for the gate. I could have arranged for a privacy metal gate OR a custom-made high-quality wooden gate that could be made for me; the metal gate would have been sub-contracted through NL, whereas a wooden gate would be made in-house (by Tom himself) by NL. The gate choice was very important for us. After seeing examples of the wooden gates on the NL website, my wife and I were 'sold' on the custom-made wooden gate. The wooden gate was more expensive than the steel gate, especially since we chose the better hardwood option, but the final product was amazing in appearance and quality of construction. Basically, NL raised the wall to a height of 5ft, stuccoed the cinderblock to match that of our home (the match that was done by Manuel and his assistant was unbelievable in how well it matched the texture of our 18yr old home). The only delay that was unanticipated by me (and NL) was when I told Tom that the original stucco of the house had been painted by the previous owner before we bought the house about 1.5yrs earlier. This fact required me to wait an additional month for the stucco to properly cure before it could be painted. I provided the paint, and at a cost of another $100, NL painted the stucco and the final result was incredible. The wall and house look as though they were done at the same time. Then, once the custom-made gate was finished by Tom, it was installed to perfection. Tom gave me instructions on how to properly maintain the gate, and was always available and prompt for all of the calls that I made during the project whenever a question I had arose. When all was said and done, the gate alone cost about as much as the masonry and painting work. But, the end result was better than either me or my wife anticipated. NL offered an "Angie's List" discount as well, which saved me $100. One other important fact was that our work site during about 8 total weeks of protracted work always was kept clean and orderly and every worker that I interacted with was courteous, professional, and respectful of my questions and requests. That says a lot about a contractor. As I anticipate other projects that I may desire in the future, NL will be my first consideration as contractor. Many thanks to Tom and his professional crew.
