The workers did a beautiful job of pruning and shaping my roses. My roses have never looked better.they pulled all the weeds in my yard and sprayed them. They uplifted my trees and blew off the property. They took extra care to make sure my puppies were safe and closed the gate. They were very professional and cordial. My property has never looked better.

When I started the full service, (basicservice -being just mowing)( fullservice -entire yard) the entire yard, I mentioned specifically that I wanted to have the roses pruned in the spring, the most important issue for me. I asked if they were trained in pruning roses. I reminded the supervisor 3 weeks in a row that my roses had not been pruned yet. Finally, they trimmed my roses when they were starting to bloom in the backyard which is too late, and many blooms were cut off and never pruned the roses in the front yard because they were in full bloom by that time. I saw debris was all over the yard etc and 3 foot high weeds were on one side of my yard, dead vines on the fence, etc 5 weeks after the full service began. I sent pictures to the owner and he had a field supervisor come and made sure the weeds were removed, the debris was cleaned and that shrubs that had never been trimmed were trimmed. I asked for a different crew since this one wasn't doing a good job and I was told they don't like to switch crews. Apparently, this was when I was whhen my property or I was labeled a problem. I was told to text the crew leader each week to remind him what I wanted done. In the meantime, I had recommended the service for my son who works a lot and didn't have time for his yard. He said it doesn't seem like they are mowing the lawn and it's full of weeds. I told the supervisor and it wasn't long before the crew used weed killer ( for rocks, not grass) on my son's lawn and killed the entire lawn. His dog got very sick, we believe from the poison being absorbed through his pads. No concern was ever expressed about his dog. Milligans said they would replace the lawn. I thought that was the right thing to do if you kill someone?s lawn. But they put sod in two areas with no sprinklers,so it started dying in that area, and set the sprinklers to overwater so the yard got a terrible smell like a swamp. It was 5 inches tall, because I guess you can?t mow new sod and when I walked on it, my shoes filled up with swampy water. When I told them, they did go and turn down the sprinklers but in the meantime, my son hasn't had a yard to use for a good part of the summer. He was told to leave the sprinklers set by Milligans to water 2-3 x a day and he had to absorb the water bill. In the meantime, back to my property. I had texted the supervisor that they were leaving dead trimming etc on my lawn and I wanted the rocks blown off better. Strike 2 onn my property. I was called and asked by a supervisor wiith an angry tone to switch to basic service since they couldn't please me. I said no, I don't want to stop the service, just please ask them to do a better job. A couple of weeks later, I was told by the crew head, that the roses in the front garden would be deadheaded( trimmed) the following week. I also sent him a text,( as I was told to do to),to remind him the day of the service, to deadhead the roses in the front yard and all of the dead carnations. I received a call from him and he said he would do it that day. After the service, I looked at the invoice of what was done and it said the roses were deadheaded. When I went out, I was shocked, that all of the dead roses were still on the bushes along with the dead carnations. A few had been trimmed in the back yard, but the dead roses were left on the ground and still dead ones were on the bushes. I texted the crew leader asking why he didn't touch the roses, sent him pics and gave him a few days to respond. When he didn't, I emailed the owner along with pictures of the roses and carnations which were never touched. I didn't hear from him a couple days later, I texted him about my son's swampy yard and asked if he got my email. He called me and said since they couldn't please me, why don't I switch to basic service. He said they keep having so many problems with my property. Why, because I asked to have the roses trimmed and they weren't and I was invoiced for them being trimmed. It seems when someone asks to have the job done they are paying for, they shouldn?t be asked to stop the service. I said, I need the service and it's late in the year to find someone else. Let me meet with the crew head and show him what I want done. I cleaned the front rose garden myself. I asked if there is a list of what full service includes, as I was originally told the yard would be kept clean of weeds, shrubs and roses trimmed, rocks blown off etc.. I was never given a list of what full service includes I was told they work 45 minutes and my crew had 13 other properties the day they do mine. That seems like a lot of properties for two people to do in one day thoroughly.I asked if I could have the crew come later and switch with another customer so I could meet in person with the crew, because of my work hours and show them what I needed done, rather than texting. He said no. I asked him didn't you say several times that you had over 250 properties to maintain, but now you're saying over 300. He said yes, we are adding properties every day. I said, why are you adding properties when you are having trouble doing the ones you already have. He got angry and said he wouldn't service my property anymore. What about our service agreement? Taking on new customers in the middle of the summer and dropping customers you had agreements with in the early spring is unprofessional and unethical. To continue to add customers after you have agreements and then drop customers you had agreements with because they ask to have a proper job done is poor treatment of customers. As anyone knows, it's almost impossible to get a service in the middle of the summer because everyone is already busy their agreed upon service agreements. In addition, two years in a row. I sent in payments in the form of a check, the check cleared and then I was billed for it again saying my bill was overdue with late charges. I sent a copy of the cleared check and it was corrected in my file both times. I never got angry about any of these things. I feel it is unprofessional to offer a service and then when a customer asks to have it done properly, to drop them as a customer and continue to pick up new customers.
Description of Work: First year 2014, I hired the company to mow my lawn each week. I agreed to continue the service for the second year, 2015. The problems started when I asked to add the full service which I was told would include rose pruning shrub and tree trimming, weed removal , shrub trimming, blowing off walks, rocks etc

Estimator arrived on time and was very polite. Work was performed well on the day/time scheduled and at the price quoted. Crew was courteous and left the site clean. The water feature is gorgeous and the sound of running water is a real treat in for desert dwellers. Please note that the price quoted does NOT include running electricity to the rock's pump. Please support this hometown business. Gary's a good guy.

Working with Milliganscapes and Harold was truly a pleasure! Harold understood my request for a low cost, xeriscape plan for my courtyard and offered a beautiful plan, well within budget I had in mind. Project was scheduled second week in May, but I called and requested completion before Mother's Day, knowing full well, probably wouldn't happen. Was I pleasantly surprised! Job was completed few days prior to Mother's Day and I was and am, thrilled with results! Milliganscapes was a joy to work with and would recommend this company to anyone. Thanks again!!

We were with Milligan Scapes for 3 years, however, their service this past spring was deplorable. Sprinklers were not turned on in a timely fashion resulting in brown grass. After several calls, Harold (manager) did finally come and turn on sprinkler system. Two weeks later, we discussed the issue of overwatering in two area in our back yard and insufficient water in an area of in our front yard. Harold then felt that additional sod was needed in all three areas. Considering the delays, Harold graciously offered to lay sod in all three areas at no cost. He did explain that this would probably happen the following week when they were doing another sod job. Next week turned into three weeks and no calls were returned when I inquired as to when I might expect the promised sod. Finally sod was placed in one area in the back yard four weeks after promised date. I then proceeded to attempt to contact Harold to inquire when the remainder of the job would be completed. After two calls to the owner Gary Milligan, I finally was able to reach Harold who then announced that he would only be delivering 5 pallets of sod and his obligations were done. That was the first time I had actually heard of a limit.. On top of which, he was insulting and rude. I do not do business with professionals who do not return calls, change the terms of agreement and are rude to boot. When I called the owner, Gary Milligan, to indicate my decision to terminate services, he indicated that he had set the limit on the amount of sod to be used and did not appear to be at all surprised at my call. Me thinks this was a planned effort to disengage us. In which case, mission accomplished. Beware of broken promises and rudeness.
Description of Work: Provider provided biweekly lawn services with sprinkler adjustments as needed.
Harold and his crew were on time as scheduled and timely completed the project. All the workers were great to work with and be around. We were very happy working with Harold and seeing the plan and design the Milligan team provided come together. We definitely are looking forward to enjoying the courtyard this summer and are looking to completing the next project in the back patio

My crew is two young men who come on time every week and are very well mannered and professional. They survey the property before they begin to see what needs to be done in addition to taking care of the lawn. Which, when they leave, could be in a magazine it is so beautifully manicured. I expected the service to provide me with a beautiful lawn. I get much more. They take the initiative to trim my weeping Mulberry when it needs it, to clip the vine that threatens to eat my front door, to cut back bushes that need it, to weed a budding garden, etc. They do this on their own. It's very refreshing and a delight to have them here. Gary Milligan runs a tight ship and it is a pleasure to have his services. I recommend them without reservation.

It was not quite as well as the previous one we just discussed. The work that they did was excellent. The design work and the finished product when they left was exactly what we were hoping for. They did fix some of our existing landscaping even though we had it removed. Overall, I would say it was a good experience but I wouldn't give them an A because we had a little problem with the concrete work where they adjusted the trim between two pieces of concrete and it took a while for that to get resolved although it did get resolved. They were a little bit late on time. The final things where we finally got everything squared away, they were timely, they came out and did a good job. The design they came up with was beautiful. Our neighbors are just ecstatic with what we did with our landscaping because it just really looks nice and we're very pleased with the way it turned out and looked. The guys that came over here and worked, they worked hard and they did an excellent job. The price was fine.

Work started on the proposed date. All work was completed as per the proposal. It was extremely easy to work with the crew as changes/alterations to the work plan were required. The tasks were completed on schedule. Follow-ups on the job were accomplished on schedule. If I have a question about the work accomplished, watering schedule or anything on plant care for the new plants Milligan Scapes always responds in a timely manner. I highly recommend Milligan Scapes for any landscape work!! Please forward this review to Milligan Scapes.
Description of Work: I contacted Milligan Scapes to provide a proposal for a rework of my backyard. Primary tasks were to remove existing sod, existing sprinkler system, install new sprinkler system, install new lawn sod, tree removal, plant landscaping and install an inclusive drip system for trees and plants. Milligan Scapes provided a detailed proposal within a week and personally meet with me to discuss the proposal. A work order was agreed upon with costs and start dates.

They are wonderful! They are absolutely fabulous. They were out on Monday. They charged a little over a hundred last year, that was every other week. Weed-whacked well, with attention to not cutting down select plants. Did not remove weeds that were growing on the patio, in between bricks, two feet tall, within a foot of where they were building the retaining wall. Pruning was OK...roses certainly look shorter, did not cut back irises, per initial discussion. Tree dropped w/o stump removal (per agreement), but no issues there. Retaining wall and walkway connection biggest problem. Took two phone calls and some coaching from a friendwho happened to be on-site when they returned to fix the 1.5" trip hazard they left initially. This was an active trip hazard, dangerous, but after two days fro my calling the company contact (Gary M), no one had shown up. I then left a message at the company website and got a call from the owner within 10 minutes. They did return, but had to be 'coached' by a friend into doing a thorough job. In addition, the lay of the wall blocks wasn't primo work (cut faces were left exposed, sequence of joints not uniform). They disconnected by watering system, used it for their own purposes, broke a small plastic value handle and left the whole thing for me to find and fix. I asked that the yard be 'cleaned up', but they left exposed old landscaping plastic waving in the wind. Took over 6 weeks to show up, in spite of repeated assurances I was just a couple of days out. In general, not a good sense of what makes a good job, well done... not good follow-through.
Description of Work: Weed-whacked thoughout yard (I asked that the yard be 'cleaned up'), pruned two climbing roses, dropped a medium-sized tree, built a retaining wall and connected to existing walkway and hauled away debris.
