KSM

This is the second time I have used KSM for plumbing in my home. Told me he'd show-up at 8am, and he did. Then he had to buy some parts and he said he'd be back at 1pm, and he did.While he was here, I threw a few questions his way regarding future service of the item, and he was very willing to respond.

I called Kevin late in the afternoon and requested an estimate. He called me when he was on his way here. He came the following morning and told me what was needed to fix the problem. He gave me a "best case-worst case" estimate. I thought the estimate was reasonable and agreed to the work. Happily, the cost was the low one that he estimated. He fixed the faucet leak immediately. He was very polite and professional. I will call him again when I have plumbing problems, and I will recommend him to my friends. Calling a plumber usually makes me nervous because I feel that I might not be treated fairly because I don't know a thing about plumbing, and at times I have been taken advantage of. The work that Kevin did was excellent and he treated me very fairly.

I have used Kevin in the past and was happy with his work, so when I suspected I had a leaking water line I called him to investigate. He came out on a Saturday, although I told him it could wait until Monday (not knowing at the time what the problem was), but he came anyway. I'm glad he did. He confirmed I did indeed have a leak in a hot water line, but carefully analyzed it to determine the location of the leak. He cut an opening in the interior wall first since sheet rock is easy to repair. There was no visible water damage in the wall so he suspected and hoped it would be near floor level. Not finding the leak, he concluded it was underneath the slab. He removed one floor tile and the partial piece cut to fit against the wall. He could not punch through the concrete with his sledge hammer so left to get a power saw. After cutting into the concrete a few inches, he tried the sledge hammer again, with no luck. He eventually returned with a jack hammer, busted through the concrete, and found the leak about 14" deep. He repaired it quickly and got our hot water back that day in spite of a much bigger job than he anticipated when he arrived. Since he had another big job scheduled on Monday, he had his partner come to put everything back together. Kevin came with Javier on Monday morning, explained in detail what he wanted him to do, and made sure I was comfortable with the arrangement. Javier did an excellent job. He went to four places to find a replacement tile. Even though the repair would have been hidden by the dryer in the laundry room, he matched it perfectly. Within a few hours he repaired the wall, filled the hole, poured the quick-setting concrete and placed the tile. The next morning he came out to lay the grout, ensuring everything was well dried and set before grouting. Both these men were courteous, efficient, trustworthy, competent, and professional. Based on my last two experiences with Kevin, I think I've found a plumber for life!

Though the work itself hit several stumbling blocks, we were impressed with Kevin's work, tenacity, professionalism, and good attitude. He was honest, didn't t;ry to jive us, and worked into the dark to get it done.

Job took aprox. a week to complete. Kevin was on time, pleasant to work with and cooperative with my desires and suggestions. He was knowledgable, upfront and honest. It was agreed that all subsequent, cosmetic repairs (i.e. concrete, drywall, painting, etc.) would be completed by other parties. I would not hesitate to use his services again, and would gladly refer him to friends.

Kevin took out our old sink, faucet and garbage disposal and put in new ones. He did an excellent job. Great quality service and great price. Thanks

Kevin came the day after I called. He was prompt and neat. He snaked the drain line for the washing machine and ran a load to ensure it was draining properly.

Based on our previous satisfactory experience with KSM, we called Kevin when our garbage disposal died. He responded quickly, asked a few questions, priced parts and gave us an estimate including a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member. He came out the next day, did the work promptly and was within his estimate. He was very professional, and we are happy with result.

Without a doubt, I have found a local plumber that will get every future plumbing job that I need to have done, along with passing referrals to him whenever a neighbor, or friend, brings up the conversation of needing a plumber. KSM Plumbing has simply earned that respect and loyalty from us. I initially called Kevin, the owner, and gave him a quick breakdown as to what has happened, or at least what I had thought happened to the water main. Kevin stated he could be out to the house in less than a few hours. He was. This wasn’t an emergency in which my house was flooding, or that I didn’t have water, it was a simple leak in the front yard. Nevertheless, Kevin treated the subject with urgency. Great marks to start. After Kevin arrived, he diagnosed the problem, and gave his input on possible options. This is, by far, one of the highest regards I have for successful business owners. Rather than just spout out a number for an estimate for “fixing it”, Kevin went through four very detailed options in which would cost different amounts. It included everything from a quick fix, to replacing the entire line from the curb to the house; each having a reasonable price behind them. As others have stated in their review, Kevin’s estimate were amazingly less expensive than other quotes I had from other plumbing companies, anywhere from a few hundred dollars to close to $1000 cheaper. That’s no joke. I elected to have the entire line rerouted and replaced solely because of Kevin’s assessment of the situation. By replacing the line, I no longer have to be concerned with another break by the multiple shrubs and trees crossing over into my property line down the road. In addition, Kevin showed me the line that came out of the ground versus the new line going in. Absolutely no comparison as to the higher quality material KSM uses versus what was used originally. By looking at the junk that came out of the ground, I am certain that another break would have happened if I had choose the cheaper route of fixing the leak, rather than replacing the line. Of course being that I have grass in the front yard, it was a concern with the grass being dug up and broken sprinkler lines. Kevin mentioned up front that the grass will not be an issue come spring time. As expected, Kevin and his crew tested the sprinkler lines to verify if lines were broken in the process of trenching. And as expected there were a few, however, within less than an hour, the sprinkler system was repaired and operating as it should. Again, as I oversaw the repairs, the replacement parts were far superior to what was in the ground originally. Overall, the water main was fixed, the grass doesn’t appear to have had anything done to it, and the sprinklers work great. It is, in my opinion, KSM Plumbing simply deserves every future plumbing job I will eventually have. His price was literally a fraction of what the other “big name” companies out there estimated me. In fact, Kevin’s bid was many hundred less than was TLC’s bid was just to repair the silly line three feet from the curb- while Kevin’s rerouted a brand new line still for less money. Honest guy making an honest living. It’s a no brainer.

Kevin did a good job evaluating what was bound to be a very involved job and gave a reasonable quote promptly. It was right in line with what others had quoted but more importantly he was helpful and talked to us about how best to approach the project.

It went very well. The work went well and it all seems to be working. There was one issue in that he hadn't brought enough stuff with him, so we had to go shopping with him, but apart from that, it went pretty well. The price seemed slightly on the high side but not by much.

Awoke to the sound of water gushing in the master bath. Turned off the main, cut a hole in the wall and found a leaking pipe. Called KSM and fortunately, Kevin was able to come right over. He explained the problem, how he would address it, and provided a verbal estimate. Nice fellow, and it did not take him long to make the necessary repairs. Small outfit, and when it was all said and done, the bill was for less than the estimate. Thanks.

12/8/11 I had a water line break in front yard of my house. House built 1960. City responded and shut water off 1 pm 12/9. I called KSM Friday afternoon, Kevin came out and assessed the situation, offered to perform the repair on Saturday and with the Angie's list discount. As this was an emergency for me (no water!) I was very pleased he was able to do repair so quickly, as the first Angie's list recommended plumber I called could not. Water line was replaced completely on Saturday and all the dirt replaced. Kevin was very concerned about my landscaping, as this was necessarily a big trench going through my yard. He minimized as best he could the damage to the trees/roots. Unfortunately my house is on a corner lot and the sewer line was installed above and perpendicular to the waterline, ran out to the other street, and this is unusual, is not in the same trench. It was damaged during the water line replacement. When I called Kevin back to report this, he returned promptly the very next day, Sunday, and repaired it for me, which entailed re-digging up part of the trench, in the cold weather, too. Overall I very pleased, especially with Kevin's promptness, professionalism, and honesty. He was very concerned about doing an excellent job. Total turn around time, 48 hours from contacting KSM, and my life was back to normal! Running water is rather criticial to my lifestyle! Would definitely call him again....with this older house, I'm sure I'll need plumbing again.

Kevin and I agreed on a time for him to install the sink on a Saturday morning and he was on time, came prepared with all of the necessary parts and equipment, and performed the service exceptionally well. While not the most difficult plumbing service, his skill and attention to detail ensured a quality install. He is at the top of my list for my other plumbing needs.

Kevin, the owner of KSM, showed up promptly at the planned time. He asked me what I needed to be repaired. The entire repair and service took a little over three hours due to the amount of work required. Kevin needed to make one run for supplies, but returned in less than 30 minutes. Due to a coupon on Angie's List, I received 10% off the entire invoice.

On time and guickly at no cost above the "deal" offered to Angie's list.

Excellent job. I called for an estimate on Monday, and Kevin came out the same day, made notes and took pictures of each area to be worked on. Called with an estimate on Tuesday morning, and came out Wednesday morning to do the work. The pool fill pipe was an unusual item which cost more than estimated, for which he apoligized. However, after working on the shut-off valve, he advised that it really didn't need replaced, which resulted in the total job being les than the estimate. He was polite, professional, explained what he was doing, and generally was easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Quick to come out and thoroughly evaluate if what I wanted to do was feasible, which was great. Other bidders just put a pencil to the estimate without really assessing if what I wanted was doable. He was punctual and responsive. Work was performed while I was on vacation and was completely set upon my return a few days later.

I called in the morning at approximately 8:30 AM to inquire about the work. By lunch time of the same day the work was complete and exactly as requested. The price for the service was satisfactory and the professionalism and responsiveness were perfect. I did use the Angie's List Big Deal coupon ($100 of work for $50). A great job! Would recommend to anyone!

After old toilet, sink, & shower were removed from workshop, I contacted Mr. Meek to get an estimate on relocating & installing plumbing for utility sink & hot water heater. Because remodeling of workshop involved other work (e.g., wiring, floor, insulation, & sheetrock), the plumbing work would have to be done incrementally. Mr. Meek said that was fine, just give him as much notice as possible and he could fit in work amongst his other jobs. The morning Mr. Meek was to hook up water lines and install water heater, I decided to move utility sink. This required putting new vent in roof, re-aligning pipes, and was a major hassle. After discussing several points on how this might be accomplished, Mr. Meek suggested a practical approach. I told him that I realized this had been sprung on him at last minute and involved work beyond what original estimate included so he should adjust final bill accordingly. He said he thought the increase would be minimal. Then, Mr. Meek & his assistant largely completed work that day, despite having to make trips to get materials/supplies required as a result of the change-order. Finally, in October, other portions of work were completed and Mr. Meek was able complete installation and hook-up. Throughout project, Mr. Meek was very helpful, flexible to my schedule, professional, and pleasant to work with. His prices were very reasonable and quality of work was excellent.

The quality of the work was excellent. The work was performed two weeks ago, and no problems have come up. I did forget to give Kevin the cover for my cooler. I realized this the next day, called Kevin, and he came back to put the cover on the cooler at no extra charge. He is professional and pleasant to deal with. I plan on using KSM for any future plumbing needs.
