KSM

Repairs were fine. Job took less than 1 hour. Contractor inspected water heater and advised of recommended upgrade that he would do as part of the special. Never heard from him again.

I feel compelled to write an update to my experience using KSM. The night before last we heard a dripping sund coming from underneath the bathroom sink. The hot water valve under the sink was leaking and we were unable to turn it off . So we went into the garage to turn off the hot water source. To our surprise, we found the hot water heater leaking. The heater must have been leakinf for some time because it was actually sinking inyo the ply-wood. it had also leaked so badly that it went under the wall and into the bedroom behind the wall and soaked the carpet. Dues to the late hour I was unable to call a plumber. At 0700 the next morning I called KSM. Kevin , the owner answered immediately and said he would come out within the hour to evaluate what was going on. As promised he was there in an hour and pronptly after surveying the situattion said the hot water heater needed to be replaced and the wooden platformm it was sitting on needed to be torn out and rebuilt. He also stated that the bathroom sink leak was not related but it was an easy fix. (I'm thinking my gaurdian angel must have caused the leak in the bathroom so the hot water heater leak could be found). Anyway... the hot water heater was badly rusted on the bottom and Kevin stated the a catastrophic failure couls occur at anytime and that he would have someone there in the next hour or so to replace and rebuild the platform. Casey and Ray showed up a short time later and got to work. These guys were fantastic! They worked non-stop until the job was done which was 7 hours later. Believe me when I say it was not a walk in the park removing the damaged heater and damaged platform. Here's the thing that I was most impressed with... the level of customer service. These guys were professionals in every way, honest, hard working, pride in workmanship and extremely polite. It is difficult to find a company that has the work ethic and expertise that I feel KSM has, from the owner down. At the end of the job, the estimate was honored despite the complications and the work area was clean as a whistle. I'm picky and trust me when I say I would hire these guys again and again. I'm sooooo impressed! Bravo Zulu (good job) to Casey, his knowledge, organization and integrity is top notch! The teamwork between Ray and Casey was a pleasure to see. Thank you Kevin, again!

I noticed a crack in the footing of the toilet bowl. I had already spent $400 having the tank replaced and didn"t want a complete new toilet so I went to Angies list to review plumbers since I was not satisfied with the previous plumber. I called KSM on Monday and talked to Kevin. He said they could come out on Wednesday unless it was an emergency, which it wasn't. I scheduled the appointment, unfortunately they were not able to keep it because the job before me turned out to be more extensive. However, Kevin called me and kept me informed. I also received a call from Don who rescheduled my appointment for 8 a.m. the next morning. Don was here as scheduled. He looked at the problem and found the necessary parts. He left and returned in about half an hour and began working on replacing the toilet bowl. He was very courteous and knowledgable. He took time to explain what he was doing to my father who is in the early stages of dementia and asked the same questions several times. Don was very patient with him and answered all of his questions.He finished the repairs, cleaned everything up and showed me exactly what he had done. He asked if I was satisfied with the job and if I had any questions. He prepared my invoice and explained all of the charges including the discount I received for being a member of Angies List! I was very pleased with KSM. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Kevin and his assistant were very friendly and efficient. It was a good experience and I would hire them again

He was excellent and my husband was very impressed. He finished what we called him for within just an hour and showed us how to fix things around our house.

Don arrived on time and was pleasant and courteous throughout the job. The job was fixing a leak at the water tank from the well. A repair had been made by another compnay earlier but still continued to leak. There were a few false starts and problems in completing the repair. Don perservered and ultimately provided a complete and lasting fix. The owner Kevin came in at the end to make sure everthing was correct. I felt that the charge was very reasonable and I was completely happy with the transaction.

The representative was on time, courteous and efficient. He completed his work quickly, cleaned-up the work area and left. I was well pleased with all aspects of this job. I would call on them for services again and recommend them to my friends and family.

KSM did a full house repiping of our home to replace polybutylene plumbing. Kevin did not have the lowest bid nor the highest, but I had been impressed with his honesty and strong ethics previously, so I choose him. I am not disappointed!! When the inspsector came to assess the work, I mentioned to him that some plumbers had previously told me that all repiping jobs will have frozen pipes in cold weather---the inspector stated that wasn't true if the work was done right and this job had been done right. I have waited to write this review until winter to see for myself. The outside temperature has been as low as 7 degrees and I had NO frozen pipes, so the inspector was right. In every way the work in this job has been done to high standards, and Kevin explained all that was going on throughout the job. Clean-up was done on a daily basis, and we have had no problems whatsoever. I would recommend Kevin and his crew without reservation. KSM is a very ethical and competent organization.

I live out of state and received a phone call from my tenant saying "there is water coming out of the wall". Not what you want to hear. KSM was the third plumbing company that I had scheduled for estimates to find out what was leaking and how much it would cost to fix it. The first two companies told me it was the washer drain and gave me quotes. Kevin ( the owner of KSM) came in to do his estimate and told me he couldn't give me a clear idea of what was wrong unless he took up a small part of the floor. He didn't think it was the washer drain. KSM discovered that the crawl space under my bathroom was like a swamp! The main drain from the kitchen had been leaking into this small crawl space for a long time and had finally saturated enough to start coming through the wall into my den. Yikes! Had he not investigated more I would have gotten a very low and incorrect estimate. He was thorough and gave me a fair estimate for the work. I ended up having him replace ALL of my interior and exterior plumbing and he did the plumbing work during the remainder of my remodel. He always answered my phone calls and answered my emails promptly. He coordinated with my contractor and my tenants. KSM was honest with me and worked hard to get the job done right!

When KSM came that day, they had the part needed to fix the cartridge in the shower valve. However, in order to get to the cartridge, they had to break the on/off knob. The boss had another panic call to attend so he turned the replacement of the knob over to his helper. All in all, a very efficient service. They were very helpful and we were pleased with the work.

He scheduled the job conveniently for me. He arrived within a few minutes of on-time. After disassembly of the old faucet, he realized that he needed to go acquire some necessary repair parts. He left for about an hour to get them, which I thought was a very reasonable interval. Then he returned, installed them, verified proper operation of the faucet, cleaned up, and departed. He was here at the house just about an hour, was very efficient, and was very polite. Altogether, a great job!

Ah, a long, but good day, at work on Thursday, January 17. Arrived home around 6:00p.m. to the sound of running water. <Darn!> After searching the house, I determined the leak was in an interior wall between the kitchen and the master bathroom shower. Returning to the kitchen to shut off the water, I noticed water pooling in front of the kitchen cabinets. I shut off the water and began reading all the plumbing reviews I could on Angie's List. I chose two companies, KSM being one of them. The next day, Friday, I called KSM at 7:30 a.m. to see what was possible in fixing the leak. Kevin, the owner, was very helpful. He said he might be able to rearrange the schedule of two of his other workers, Kade and Casey. When we discussed cost, Kevin said that KSM's current Angie's List coupon would not apply because KSM is located in Rio Rancho and services that area and the Albuquerque area, while I live in the East Mountains about 15 minutes south of I-40. Drive time alone would be expensive for the company. Kevin was upfront with the costs and honored his estimate. He did give me the 10% Angie's List discount off the total cost, though. Very nice. I was very relieved that he cared enough about my predicament that he still considered helping me out even though I live outside his normal working radius. I called the other company, but they couldn't come out until Monday, and the price was the same. I called my husband and we decided to hire KSM. We're very glad we did. I called Kevin to confirm his company fixing the leak, and he told me Kade would be calling me in 15-20 minutes to coordinate the time we'd meet at my house. This was great, as it allowed me to finish up some work before leaving the office. Kade called and said he would be at my house between 10:30-11:00 a.m. after he stopped to purchase some parts. He called again at 9:45 to stay he had to make one more stop as the first store did not have all the parts he needed. He said he might be a little late, but was still shooting for 10:30. He and Casey arrived at 10:35. I appreciate the updates and communication. Kade and Casey got right to work, problem-solved as they went, and completed the task in the estimated time. They also looked at several other plumbing issues we have, took pictures, and will pass on the issues to Kevin for him to give us an estimate on fixing these additional items. Kevin, Kade, and Casey were friendly, professional, and did a great job. I look forward to working with them again.

The temperature has been pretty low lately (5 degrees last night). During the night I had a pipe burst that I was unaware of. When I discovered it in the morning it was buried in a mountain of solid ice. First thing I did was to make coffee (priorities) and then get on Angie's List to find a plumber. After checking several reviews I settled on KSM Plumbing. When I called KSM Kevin the owner answered. When I explained my situation he said he would be there in about a half hour. 20 minutes later he and one of his employees, Don, were pulling into my driveway. They were both friendly and real easy to talk to. They went to work immediately. Not only did they have to work in snow but they also had to chip away the mountain of ice that occurred during the night. It was miserable working conditions. I'm glad it wasn't me. Both of them were cheerful through the whole job. Never complained one time. They fixed the problem and did a beautiful job. When the spring comes I plan on having them back out to do some other jobs for me. I really loved their attitude. I would highly recommend KSM Plumbing.

Blocked drains, Angie's List, found Kevin, called, he came, fixed problem, happy.

Overall, it was a pleasure to work with Kevin who stayed focused on the project throughout its duration and made me feel valued and important as a customer. There was a bit of delay in starting the project and it took longer than expected, but part of this was the attention to detail. I originally got three estimates and each offered different suggestions to make the installation better (running vent pipe to the roofline, making it so the filters can be changed inside, etc.) and Kevin ended up doing all these and more. He was the only one who insisted on reinsulating all the ductwork, which had 40 year old thin fiberglass insulation, and insisted on buying high quality reusable filters that have a 10 year warranty. I watched Kevin and his team work throughout the process and Kevin consulted with me on decisions such as having the venting coming out instead of on the side to maintain curb appeal and how I wanted the air intake expanded. Despite materials and labor costing more than the original estimate due to unsuspected surprises (such as having to buy new floor grates and a more expensive two-stage thermostat to accommodate the modulating furnace), Kevin insisted on sticking with the original price he offered. The project inspection passed without a hitch and the furnace has been keeping us warm.

I called KSM early in the morning before I had to go to work to see if they could service my heating unit as soon as possible as it wasn't functioning at all. Kevin listened carefully to what led up to the problem which may have been my improper install of a new thermostat. He set up an appointment for me the very same day which worked with our schedule. Within a few hours of troubleshooting he found the problem (a blown fuse within the unit) and fixed it. Kevin was extremely professional throughout the entire process and his price was very reasonable. I will definitely use KSM in the future for any heating and cooling problems that come up again, as I found them to be very professional, honest, and reasonably priced.

They did a good job from start to finish.

Kevin of KSM is very professional and efficient. He and his 2 workers came early and did the job quickly. He said a new belt would be needed for next summer when I turn it on again. He was done in about 20 minutes! Great job.

The gas and sewer line installation entailed running underground trenches half way around the house, while avoiding existing underground installations. We are extremely pleased with KSM's work, work ethic, and willingness to work with our schedules. We will call on Kevin in the future to help with plumbing and related issues.

Kevin arrived on time, provided me with an acceptable quote and completed the work on time. It was definitely a low-key, low-hassle experience.

I was satisfied with work and feel he is very honest.

I discovered KSM Plumbing (named for Kevin Meeks, the owner) through a Big Deal that Angie's List emailed to me $99 for a half-hour consultation and two hours worth of plumbing. Ended up hiring Kevin and his assistant Kaid for many more hours -- not sure exactly how many. We were doing renovations throughout the house, starting with the removal of an island in a kitchenette that the previous owner had built as a an (illegal; not allowed by zoning) apartment sealed off from the rest of the house (which we had since unsealed to rejoin the rest of the house). Because there was plumbing hooked up to the long-unused sink in there, we needed a plumber to come detach and cap it. That was what I "spent" most of the Big Deal coupon on. Later came our need for a new bathtub to be installed and, after another company did the tilework in the shower, all the plumbing fixtures to be installed. After that, we needed the bathroom cabinet installed, the plumbing under/behind it to be reconfigured, and the faucet and drain to be installed. In there somewhere, we needed our new kitchen sink and its attendant parts (garbage disposal, pipes) installed. Then our new dishwasher. And finally we needed a hose bib on the back of the house repositioned to get out of the way of a new patio coming in. Kevin and Kaid's work spanned July through October, and all of it was top notch. That includes Kevin's advice to go with Delta brand fixtures throughout, as they require far less repair, in his experience. (The woman at the plumbing supply store confirmed that they get far fewer orders for Delta repair kits than any other brand. Just FYI, everyone who's considering new plumbing fixtures!) I spent more than I wanted to on plumbing, but isn't that always the way these things go? I didn't anticipate that we would need ALL that work done, but one thing led to another... Anyway, working with Kevin and Kaid of KSM Plumbing was a totally pleasant experience. I recommend KSM highly.

Keven Meek came out promptly after my call and explained what he thought was wrong with the water heater since is was giving me rusty water. He said that he could try draining it and see if that would help but we both agreed that as suddenly as the problem had started that the heater was bad. His crew came the next morning and replaced the water heater. I could not be more pleased with crew and the work that they did. It was obvious that this a very ethical company. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who needed a plumber.
