Indoor Quality Air

This started out as a Groupon deal for $49. The original company that I spoke with to do the job apparently was unable to fulfill the work and subbed it out to Indoor Air Quality. I was unable to be at the house when they arrived on August 26th, so my wife dealt with them. Immediately they told my wife they would not clean any air return (intake) vents under the deal. This wasn't mentioned on the Groupon certificate. They also claimed my intake vents were badly clogged and would require disinfectant and other anti rust antimicrobial treatments. They also said I needed a permanent furnace filter. My wife called me and put the guy (Eddie) on the phone. I told him to do only what was spelled out on the Groupon certificate which was a choice of AC or furnace checkup, dryer vent and all house air ducts. They didn't do the dryer vents nor the intake vents as I mentioned earlier. They charged a hazardous material disposal fee, sales tax and a travel charge. This was prepaid through Groupon and shouldn't have incurred any additional charges. When the crew left, we found register vents laying on the floors and not replaced. We found furniture not put back from where it was pulled out. A floor mirror in one bathroom was broken and in another bathroom, a large wad of toilet paper was stuck in the bowl (not flushed) which required the plunger to clear it. When I tried to speak with the manager of Indoor Quality Air by phone she was EXTREMELY rude. She blamed my wife for signing the invoice and paying the amount the crew requested and said she was naïve and there was nothing Indoor Quality Air would do. She wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. I did call Groupon and received a refund of the $49. The amount paid to this company is probably lost.

I had a coupon for a whole house duct cleaning and free dryer vent cleaning. This was a great deal so I was having our rental property ducts cleaned to make life easier for our renter who has terrible allergies. When I called to schedule this appointment I had no problem getting a live person on the line and scheduled the appointment for my convenience. The two men who came were on time and were quiet and on task. They did recommend cleaning my furnace and offered to do so, which I declined, I didn't want any additional charges. When they cleaned the dryer vent they did notice a safety hazard and recommended I have the dryer looked at right away. I had a repair person come out and sure enough, the dryer had a problem which at some point could have caused a fire. The men picked up after themselves, left the appropriate paperwork, thanked me for my business and left. I only wish i had another coupon for cleaning the vents at the home I live in.

They very good and thorough. I would use them again.

Estimator was professional and personable. Explained work clearly. Price was quite a bit higher than other bids.

, Besides the deal I purchased, they suggested several other things they strongly recommended that I buy or add on to the deal; like a new filter for my furnace which had to be ordered but when it came in it was the wrong size. Also the carpet cleaning was not good -- lots of streaks and stains showed up later. There were extra charges for use of stain remover etc for carpets. Even though they cleaned the vents, once I started up the heater I have lots of dust marks on the ceiling from the vests. Seems like more than last year. So not sure for me if it was such a good deal or not.

It took a long time for the company to call to make the appointment, the number listed on Angie's List was not their number, so we could not call them. Then we played "telephone tag" for about a week before finally getting the appointment scheduled. They were early getting here on the day of the appointment. Thank goodness my brother was here or we would have missed them. They found more "issues" with our ducts and recommended more intensive cleaning (which we paid for). They missed some of the floor vents. They left our door open and our house was full of flies. They tore up the ceiling while removing the vents. They left a huge mess all over the house. There was a black dust covering our whole house. We have a child with asthma, which we told them, so leaving this mess was an issue for us. I can't say what the ducts look like - I just have to hope they cleaned them well since we paid and additional $200.

Workers were professional. Ducts seemed cleaner after their work, swamp cooler worked better. One regret is that I forgot about our return air vents and they did not ask, so those vents did not get cleaned. They gave us good advice on pulling the dryer out further from vent so vent hose won't get damaged, as well as advice to get a better furnace filter.

Poor experience. This company is not based in Denver and has phone rep based in NM setting appointments. She is rude and unprofessional. She would speak to other people and talk other calls in the middle of speaking to me - this happened each time I called them. The first date the services were scheduled for, the provider was scheduled to come between 2-4 pm and did not show up until 7 pm. Rang my door bell and got my 2 small kids out of bed. I was very unhappy both at the "no show" as well as the bell ringing. Then the provider was argumentative with me about why they had not arrived on time. There was no one answering the office phone after 5 pm, so I was not able to reach anyone when no one showed up. The service was rescheduled (ONLY because I had bought a livingsocial and paid for part of this service already) for a week later. The second crew was much better. They arrived when scheduled and completed the job promptly. I was told I would be given an additional discount by the crew when they arrived (from the original scheduling) and they said they would make an adjustment for the 1st no show. The new crew told me that my service was not estimated correctly and added 1/3 to my bill and then tried to adjust. I ended up spending about $100 more than I planned and was unhappy about it. The crew was polite, professional and quick with their work. I give them a "C" for their awful customer service, upward fee adjustments and inconsistent crews.

Could have/should have been a better experience.

I had a good experience with Jen, setting up the appointment. She answered my questions and was very professional. Jen called when the technicians were 30 minutes away, which was helpful. Two techs arrived, Mike was the lead, I think. He came in, counted the vents and got to work. He did suggest twice that I have the sanitization service done but I said, no thank you. I did have them clean the 2 heat returns, adding to the bill but it was worth it to me.($50 extra) All the covers were removed and rinsed off with my garden hose (Mike asked me first if he could use it.) Mike did go into the garage to inspect the furnace and suggested I use better quality filters. When Mike worked downstairs, he vacuumed the extra debris from the carpet under the vents. The tech that worked upstairs did not. I made the assumption that was standard. After they left, I found a moderate amount debris on floors and surfaces in all the rooms upstairs, including a bathroom where it was very noticeable on a counter top and inside a shower stall. I did not like this aspect but I didn't see it until after they left. Lesson learned. The total time for the service took 1 1/2 hours. Overall it was a good experience and the coupon price provided a basic vent vacuuming. I believe if you want a real 'cleaning' you need to opt for a rotator brush service with some sort of sanitization. Both of which cost extra.

very short and sweet No problems or complexities

I wasn't informed that I had to buy new filters. Their office made so many mistakes with the scheduling. The guys that came out were very nice and professional and did the job very well. If I could give them an A- I would due to the customer service from the office.

They arrived on time! It was a last minute deal and were able to help out quick! They came, conquered and kicked butt!

I e-mailed them to get an appointment. They called and we set up a time a week and a half out. My appointment was for 1:00 5-22-2013. I was in a prior appointment where I could not answer my phone when I received a call at 11:48 no message was left. I drove up to my house at 12:00 and found a note telling me that they had been by at noon and would come back sometime after 2. I immediately called the guy back to let him know that I just got home and he could go ahead and come right back. I was told that no even though my appointment was at 1 he would come back after 2. I told him that wouldn't work for me as I had other things to do that was why I scheduled an appointment. I called the office to let them know what happened, the coordinator told me she would have to talk to the owner to see what could be done. She called back and said they were sorry and offered a free service to compliment the service I paid for. I told her I didn't need the free service and if they could somehow still show up at the scheduled time that would be fine for me. She said she would try to get that accomplished and call me back to let me know if she could or not. I'm still waiting for that call.....

This was a fairyly simple call but they did a really good job. They came into our house, evaluated the ducts, let us know how filty they were and then they cleaned them. They were very careful not to get the rest of the house dirty and they put everything back the way it was when they were done.

All OK. We had to get Angies List to e-mail the receipt and job coupon. They were in and out in about 4 hours.

Both of the technicians that came out were very cordial, professional and efficient in their work. They took the time to explain the options that we had. They explained the pro's and con;s of each of the options. Once we decided what we wanted them to do, the provided an estimate and then began the work. They were very thorough and detailed in the work they performed. They cleaned up as they finished each room , so as not to create a mess. I would (and already have actually done so) recommend them to others needing duct work cleaning.

Technicians were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and had no problems with the dogs. They were professional and completed the job on time.

I own a Bosch Nexxt 500 series dryer. I recently noticed that the dryer had not been drying efficiently. I contacted Quality Air the day before the services were rendered. The representative at the office was very professional and courteous. She honored the coupon price ($39) and said that I could pay the crew on the day of service. On the day of service, I received a reminder phone call that the crew was on the way. Two men showed up ( on time) and got right to work. They used a high-powered vacuum to clean the duct and inside the lower front base of the dryer. I rent an older home in the Heights and the crew had to work hard to remove the build up from the duct, but they were able to clear a pathway from outside to inside. The team was professional and courteous. I would use them again. One more thing, the team suggested an acid wash ( an additional $49) to remove all build-up from inside the ducts. I declined since we will be moving in a month but felt this was very reasonable. Hope this helps.

I recently had a room in my house re-plastered and the dust was blowing through the duct system and staining the ceiling in every room in the house. I used Indoor Air Quality's special offer to Angie's List members and had all the ducts in the house cleaned. The scheduler at Indoor Air was able to accommodate my request for an early start time, called the day before to confirm, and called to tell me the techs were on their way on the scheduled morning. The lead tech explained the process very clearly and gave me an estimate of how much time it would take. I was surprised that everything went so smoothly and they were done quicker than they expected. The dust in the house is greatly diminished since I had the work done and, since I'm planning more remodel work, I know I will definitely use Indoor Air Quality again.

Eddie and Mike were the team assigned to my job on the 16th. They kept in communication with me when they expected to arrive as I had a pretty full schedule that day. They arrived, evaluated the air ducts in my home and communicated the issues, resolution and time it would take to complete the job. I felt they were honest and suggested a full-service clean if you will as it hadn't been done in quite some time. They treated the system for mold as we had a previous water leak that got into the ducts and then sanitized too. They found that the furnace (which is up in the "attic" if you will, had not been changed out in quite some time. They offered to order me a new one and install it when it arrived. Eddie and Mike's time estimate was very accurate and they were very pleasant to work with.

Prepare for the up sale pitch and extra fees you are not told about upfront (Disposable hazard??) 7% of bill Prepare for the sanitize fee and mold control fee sales pitch. Pay extra for the furnace cleaning even tho the special ad states cleaning Furnace is included. Extra $103 The work was ok, but was left with a ripped off feeling. Prepare to be told how bad your system is and because I did not do the sanitize fee, it would all just return and be a bad situation and cost thousands of dollars later. And supposedly a little 'fog' in the vents would solve all this? hummmmmm,,,,rather bullying He called the office and they authorized a half price of sanitizing ($360) off 2 furnaces. I declined. The extra charge has been a unreal debate with the company who denies their own ad includes "Clean furnace Unit" even though it plainly says it is included. They claim not to understand; then wanted to charge even more because their accounting is very bad. Very disappointing. Will file complaint with Angie's List to find resolution.

When we hired them they quoted us about $130.00 to do the changeover from the swamp cooler to the furnace. However then they proceeded to tell us that they needed to sanitize the vents which ended up being another $200.00. We felt this would be a good idea as the previous owners of the house had small pets that ran around the house and left droppings everywhere. They also sold us thee new filters for the furnace for another $400. The initial experience was overall fair. That's when it went downhill. It was difficult getting someone to come back out to put the filters in when they arrived. One filter was just duct taped to the air return which would then be ripped off by the suction of the air flow. Then in early January I noticed water running off the roof. I called and demanded some one to come out to check the swamp cooler. This seemed odd because the swamp cooler should have been drained and had no water running to it. They said they would have someone out first thing Sunday, this was on a Thursday. Sunday rolled around and about 20 minutes before the crew showed up we woke up to water running. The pipe that was taking water to the swamp cooler was never turned off and caused $15,000 in water damage. The tech that came, Eddie Steinburg, was very rude, walked away from my wife when she asked his name. He also stated that it was our fault for not checking their work. When we said that we were thinking about suing, he said "go ahead and sue". He also said that they do not switch off the water for winterization nor drain the swamp cooler. This made absolutely no sense whatsoever since that's the first thing should be done. I would have done it myself but we hired them because we had just moved into the house and I didn't know where the turn off was. They may have cheap prices but the customer service is shoddy and the workmanship is horrible.

They did a good job on the vents. The carpets were left very wet though.

They did a really good job. I was very happy and I wanted to do more. They were very good. They were on time. They were professional. They were thorough in detail. They explained to me what was going on and what they were going to do. It was all good. They were great. I would recommend using them.
