Indoor Quality Air

My concern is one of the workers tried to tell me my furnace was filthy and was in need of repairs. I had just had a licensed HVAC tech out a few weeks earlier who cleaned the furnace and replaced the filter. He checked everything out and said the furnace was working fine. I trust him because he is an employee of ours. I felt Indoor Quality Air was trying to talk us into repairs that were unnecessary.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. There were no additional charges. I would recommend them. They did a very good job. They came in, went right in to what they had to do, and finished as soon as they could. I would use them again.

Well, I don't quite know what to say here. It took them all of 5 minutes to do the actual work, and after originally telling me that they'd show me all the lint they cleaned out, I was ultimately told "the wind blew away all of the lint". How am I to know if they actually did the work I paid for in this instance? They didn't seem to understand what I meant when I told them that a Sears technician had tested the heat output for my dryer, and that it came up yellow (means that there was some blockage); how could they not know that? Why do they not use such testing equipment? Also, I noticed, when they were leaving after the service, that there's some printing on the side of their van that says "Dryer Vent Cleaning $39"..........interesting, since I paid $49 for this special and it was supposedly a $79 value. So, overall I was rather disappointed, and this was not a good experience for me. Even though they may have done the work, and maybe even did it well (how would I even know??), I would definitely not be able to recommend them, nor would I consider using their services again.

When Eddy arrived I walked him through our two-story home and showed him the rooms/carpetsto be done. As we were in the process of moving into the house there was only 1 bed and 1 sofa on the carpeted areas. His first comment was that I should read the fine print on the coupon. The carpet cleaning was limited to 1000sf. I went to the computer, pulled up the coupon and showed him there was no such condition. He then wanted me to purchase a "furnace cleaning/sanitizing". I asked if he was HVAC qualified. He replied, "Yes, I've been doing this for three years." I was looking for a State License. I declined the service. I did purchase the stairway cleaning which was not part of the coupon. When he was finished with the work I pointed out stains in several rooms and he told me that I had only purchased 'basic cleaning' not stain removal and deep cleaning. Four vents were ignored (not cleaned) and the dryer vent was not cleaned. He did not move the bed, but cleaned the carpet around it. The carpet took over 10 hours to dry. Eddy told me the carpet was old and the stains were probably old also, The next morning I checked the floors again. The carpet felt stiff and was dull. I suspect it was not rinsed . I used a carpet spot remover myself and got rid of several stains. Technically, the carpets are cleaner than before the work of Indoor Quality Air, but I don't feel they are Clean.

They were very effecient and very friendly. They were in and out within half an hour.

The minute the person in charge walked in the door all they wanted to do is look for new items in which they could charge. Cleaned them fine we assume, we had to pick up tools after them and had to remind them to which registers they had missed. They did show what they cleaned out of the duct work and we were surprised at how little it there was in the container since it had been several years since we had it done.

It did not go well. They wheeled the big vacuum machine down and cleaned it. I do not believe that they actually put the long vacuum hose into any of the ducts to vacuum out the built up material in the ducts. Instead, they brought in another bigger machine. And then they announced that the ducts were too dirty to use that vacuum machine and that the only way that they could clean the ducts was to put in additional time and to use their super powerful "reverse gravity" Heppa machine. They ended up hooking up to only one duct and then using a brush on a flexible cable to put dirt in the other ducts up in the air and supposedly to suck it out with the super reverse gravity machine. (And to get that service, it would cost another $189.00 --plus tax it came to $203.28. --So, I paid $89.00 plus tax for the coupon and then another $203.28 or close to $300.00 for unacceptable service. When they were finished, I asked them to move the machine up to other ducts and to clean those, He moved it to one duct, and then stopped and explained to me that if he did what I wanted, he would be there for 24 hours and then still not get it clean, because all he would be getting would be dirt. (Now I know that I have some partially collapsed ducts, but I have a video inspection that shows debris in the ducts, and not an infusion of dirt or earth, and the ducts are open). They left after an hour and fifteen minutes. After they left, I used a shop vac to clean out some of the debris in two of the ducts close to the vents. So I know that they could have vacuumed the ducts that run on the perimeter of the residence. They also tried to sell me a furnace cleaning and lifetime filters.

The technician arrived as appointed on a Sunday accompanied by a well behaved child of 7 or 8. He performed the service in good time and with a minimum of fuss. The technician told us that there was debris in our vent and mentioned a service of his company that would coat the vent inside to cut down on this. He was unable to explain the process so we asked for more information. He agreed to call us with this information but never did.

The person was held up on another job and was very late. However he was very professional & efficient. He did a thorough cleaning and gave tips for having the dryer run best.

Rude, untruthful, condescending, and disrespectful staff 5. Never a owner or higher level manager available to speak to 6. Only one service truck available in Santa Fe 7. Service only available on Fridays in Santa Fe 8. False advertising on Angie's List regarding availability 9. Overall poor customer service 10. They don't care about the customer I pre-purchased their services and scheduled an appointment for the afternoon (1-3pm). After taking off work, on the day of the appointment I received a call at 11:00am that they had to cancel due to no supervisor available to accompany truck to Santa Fe. I asked to speak with a Supervisor, none were available! Supposedly supervisors do not work on Fridays. The employee was condescending and unhelpful. I had to ask to reschedule and she would not reschedule for the original time of the appointment. She said I had to take the 8 - 10am slot or wait two more weeks. Rescheduled for the next Friday (8-10am). Took off work the next Friday, they did not show up. There was no call, just a no show. When called, they lied and said they called and left a message stating that they were not going to show up. There was no record on my phone of their call no any voicemail. When asked why they were not showing up I was given the same reason as the previous Friday; "no supervisor to accompany truck." Once again, I asked to speak to a Supervisor; none available given supervisors don't work on Fridays. Was given a generic voicemail to leave my message. The employee on the phone was rude and disrespectful. She refused to give me the owner's names or how I could contact them. This is the worse customer service experience I have ever had with a company.

An appointment was scheduled 2 weeks in advance via phone. The representative called me the day before the scheduled appointment to verify the appointment time. I spoke with the representative, confirmed the details and ensured her I would be there when the work crew arrived. Approximately 30 minutes before the appointed scheduled time of arrival, the same representative called and stated there were "unforeseen problems" that had occurred and they would not be able to meet my appointment time. Apparently, the work crew was providing services to "a really big house" and it was taking longer than expected. Maybe it is an unforeseen problem for this company that they could have avoided by ensuring appropriate scheduling practices. Looking back at the time when I scheduled the appointment, the representative never asked me how many air ducts I needed cleaned, or how many units I had in my house - it seems this information would be helpful for effectively scheduling a work crew. I took off the afternoon to be available for a scheduled appointment - their lack of service has been a waste of my time.

Arrived on time, professional demeanor, did a little more than was contracted for without additional cost. Ordered filter for air duct to be installed later. They performed the work without much mess, but did not replace furniture that they had moved so we had to do that ourselves.

It was ok. I didn't like the fact that they kept trying to sell me more.

A crew of two showed up right on time and got to work- the gentleman in charge explained everything being done and showed us buildup in some of the ducts. There was an obvious improvement when the work was done and everything was cleaned completely before they left.

ALL WENT WELL..THEY DID A GOOD JOB

They cancelled the original appointment and couldn't reschedule within my time frame.

I expected a professional-quality carpet cleaning, or I would have rented a machine from Home Depot. The tech was hard-working and really wanted to do a good job, but they had sent him out with a little shop-vacuum-cleaner-type machine with a long vacuum hose (really - how much sucking power can you get from a 20-foot long, 4" diameter hose???), and they had trained him NOT to vacuum the carpets before he sprayed them with the water! In my view, water plus dirt equals mud that then gets driven down into the carpet. The "hot" water feature on the machine was broken, and the hoses were split in several places, which sent water spraying all over the carpets. The hose that he was able to tape up was not long enough to reach the rooms that needed to be cleaned. I had him try to clean an area that he could reach, but the machine was dismally ineffective. I called the company and their only truck-mounted machine was in Santa Fe and could not do the job that day. So I asked for a refund.

The overall experience was positive, however the service expected us to have carpet, which we didn't. We have all hardwood floors, and the coupon just detailed carpet cleaning and air duct service.

The gentleman showed up promptly. I was happy that they worked on Sunday, so I did not have to schedule time-off from work. He was friendly, fast and professional.

It went well. The fine print indicated that the $69.00 price was for one unit (we missed that detail - our fault; we have two units.) Eddy and his assistant were professional, did the job efficiently and thoroughly, and were very courteous.

The originally scheduled date of service was a no-show by the company. I had to call to find out what had happened. It had to be rescheduled and as this was not convenient for me, I asked to speak to the owner. He called me back within five minutes and was very apologetic and accomodating.

Technician arrived @ 9:00 (scheduled between 8:00 - 10:00) He went right to work. Moved out dryer & washer. He cleaned everything in surrounding area. He was very thorough and professional. Yes, I would absolutely hire them again. I am going to have them return to clean all my air ducts.

It was pretty easy to schedule the appointment. The techs called before they came and showed up on time. They did a great job on the air ducts, including the dryer. I had no complaints with the carpet cleaning as well. Any issues I had they addressed.

Technician arrived more than an hour after the 4:00-5:00 time frame given at the time the appointment was made, and somehow this was my fault for living so far from his last appointment. The washer and dryer were left pulled out from their original spot and crooked. He left no receipt or other evidence of his service. I was told by the office that the procedure would take about 45 minutes; in fact, he was here less than 15 minutes. I did not rate "quality" because I have no way of assessing that. It may be that the office was very wrong about the time it would take, but there is room for doubt, considering the lack of professionalism.

Was suppose to be $39.00. Needed another $200 to finish the job. It was completely blocked and I knew it was going to be a problem and not a simple clean out. Was a reasonable price for the work required. It appears the work was well done.
