I cannot tell you how happy we are with their work. This review is actually for Floorscapes Santa Fe office and their representative Mickey McKay. Their main office is in Albuquerque. We bought a house which had gorgeous slate flooring throughout everything except the 3 bedrooms which were covered in very light and fairly new carpeting. As our cats and dogs have free run of the house we knew this would not be workable. I was told by others that the existing slate tiles were no longer available but Floorscapes was able to find them. Since all slate tiles are natural and varying (part of their beauty as far as I'm concerned), it kind of depends on when they are taken out of the quarry if you want a close match. Mickey called me when the tiles came in to tell me they were somewhat darker than the originals and sent me photos. We told her to go ahead. She phoned again after the sealant was applied and told me that the sealant had darkened the floor further. As the original floors only had wax as a sealer we had Floorscapes apply the same sealant to the original tiles. The result is truly beautiful. I've never seen such a gorgeous floor. And it will be very easy to care for. Mickey kept in touch at every step and was very solicitous of our opinions and approvals. There was a little miscommunication with the people who sealed the floors about when we would arrive so that when we got in our stove and refrigerator were still in the garage. On the positive side, though, they were waiting to be sure it was safe to put the heavy items back. ALSO, Mickey and others came very early the following morning to put the appliances back in place so all was well. Overall Floorscapes (and Mickey) deserve an A+. We do not hesitate to recommend their work. So happy with the floor! One other note: They gave me written quotes every step of the way. We had tried dealing with another service earlier that would only give verbal quotes. I like agreements in writing.
Description of Work: Removed carpet and installed natural slate tiles in all three bedrooms. After sealing these they also resealed the rest of the floor in the house.

Visited the Floorscapes showroom and was amazed to see all the possible floor coverings available. Joe was very helpful in explaining the different types of flooring. After taking samples home I decided on the laminate wood flooring, and went back to order it. Shortly after that Joe came out to my house to do the measurements and provide an estimate for the job. I had looked other places for laminate wood and thought the price he estimated was very good. The product was promptly ordered and received, and the whole job was done within two weeks from first visit to Floorscapes, as estimated. Everything went smoothly from beginning to completion. The installation crew, Robert, Matt and Josh, got to work right away and got the job done in one day. Robert had to grind down the cement floor in one area where it was not level, and he worked hard to get it just right. The two rooms look great, and I couldn't be more pleased with them. I would definitely use Floorscapes again and can highly recommend them.

We went to Floorscapes based on Angie's List reviews. At the showroom we were helped by Joe Gonya, who took a lot of time showing us samples, explaining the differences, and giving us ball-park estimates based on our own measurements and descriptions. We were buying a house, and had not yet closed, so we couldn't have him come out at that time. He gave us a couple samples we could take and compare when the home inspection was being done. Although it was much more expensive, we chose the best vinyl interlocking tile they had, to ensure longevity and because it was a floating tile that required less prep and allowed easy removal or repair. Once we had moved in, Joe came out and took measurements, and verified that the existing peel-and-stick tile would have to be removed first. We had originally only planned to do the kitchen, but we asked Joe to measure the bathrooms and give us an estimate for them as well, since they also had those ugly cheap tiles. He later emailed us the estimate, which turned out to be higher than we had anticipated, but we told him to go ahead and order the materials for all three rooms. A two-man crew came out about two weeks later to demo the old tile and lay the new ones. The crew arrived on time, quickly removed the old tile, and laid the new tile, all within a matter of a few hours. That included removing the toilets temporarily in the bathroom, and moving the stove and refrigerator in the kitchen. When they finished, they thoroughly cleaned up their mess and left us two extra tiles. The new floors look 200% better than the old ones, and feel very solid. The only complaint we had was on the transition from the kitchen to the front hall. Our hall has off-white porcelain tiles with a charcoal gray grout, and the new kitchen floor is a light tan marble-look tile. They used a wood-brown silicone to fill in the slight gap between the two floors, which really stood out. Out our request, Joe sent a guy out to pull the brown caulk out and replace it with charcoal gray, which looks much better. The first invoice we received did not include the Angie's List discount, but that problem was quickly resolved as well. While the job ended up costing more than we expected, that is mostly due to decisions we made about which tile to use and which rooms to floor. The end result, however, is excellent.
Description of Work: They replaced the flooring in the kitchen and two bathrooms.

Floorscapes was on time and started the demo after removing baseboards and hanging plastic tarps to protect everything from dust and bits of the old tile. The job went beautifully the workers were very professional. They cleaned up every day of work. I am very happy with the finished result and will use this company again as I have more tiling to do. I would highly recommend this company.

We found flooring we liked in the showroom at Floorscapes. They have a large variety of choices. The installers arrived when they said they would and worked quickly and neatly, doing a beautiful job, good finish and good cleanup, both the vinyl installers and the luxury vinyl installers. I compared prices on the flooring we chose and found Floorscapes very competitive for our job. We could not be happier with our new flooring. Had planned on laminate but found the luxury vinyl tile to be a better, longer lasting, more easily cleaned and maintained floor. And the underfoot feel is more solid, like real wood. Could not be happier with Floorscapes, from the sale to the installation.

The work was very professional and well done. They coordinated to take out the carpeting before another contractor came in to paint all the walls - that way work on painting the baseboards was made easier and avoided a possible return visit by the painters for touch up. LVT flooring with a maple wood appearance was chosen at the time of carpet removal. Laying of the new flooring took place after painting of all the interior of the house - and took about 2.5 days. Clean up was perfect, and the final result is spetacular!
Description of Work: Removal of carpet and laying of LVT flooring in 3 bedrooms and connecting hallways and closets.
It was absolutely wonderful. When we went in we were probably in there for 2 1/2 hours and they never rushed us. They were very professional and accommodating of our schedule. The installer was a very high top professional, he didn't cut any corners and I would highly recommend this company.

Smooth from beginning to end. Crew was professional and a pleasure to work with. I cleared most everything I could from the rooms and they carefully moved the big pieces of furniture. They removed the carpet, pad, and tack strips and took it all away. They installed the Coretec flooring -- a new kind of tongue and groove laminate which is waterproof and looks more like wood than any others I've seen. They removed the baseboards and replaced them -- when they were done, I would never have guessed that they had done that. They cleaned up when they were done and moved the furniture back where I wanted it. It looks great. The price I paid included a 10% discount on materials because of the Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: Removed carpet, installed Coretec flooring in two rooms and hallway --approximately 500 square feet.

The job was done in two parts. They did the first part immediately and we tried to move all of our things to another room for the first part. The second part was done six weeks later and it was done well, but I feel that it took them quite a while to get the job completed. They are really good people, but it did take a while to get on their schedule. I would go back to them again.

Always prompt and began working immediately. Very nice men, both pleasant and professional. Asked questions if unsure of task. The clean-up was just wonderful Working with Debbie at Floorscapes was great. No pressure and had several combinations of tile and back splash materials ready for us to look at and make our choices. She came by the first morning of demolition to see how I liked the work and if I had any questions. Very professional.

The installation crews arrived on time and were courteous and professional. The vinyl plank was installed first and the process went well and the flooring looked great when it was done. The carpet crew arrived a few days later and installed the carpet. The installation went pretty well, except for a small problem with re-installing one closet door guide. The communication skills of the carpet installers could have been better. The installation appears to be done well and there have been no problems since the installation. I had some difficulty dealing with the initial representative I encountered, who was apparently a relatively new employee. However, I received excellent assistance from two other employees who did everything they could to ensure the experience went well. I also received a call from the business owner, who wanted me to be happy with my experience. Months after installation I noticed a small flaw in the vinyl plank and they responded quickly to my call and repaired the area.
Description of Work: Floorscapes provided an estimate for the proposed work. The representative assisted in selecting the flooring and carpeting that best met my needs. They installed 400 square feet of luxury vinyl plank with associated transitions and 63 square yards of carpet.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The hardwood flooring specialist is Joe Gonya, and he was outstanding in every respect. He has the patience of a saint. I was not an easy customer, for I did not want just anything thrown into my house. I wanted an environmentally safe product as well as one that would survive New Mexico. It took time to find this and to make my choice, but Joe never rushed me. He gave me all the time I asked for. He always respected my choices and preferences, but he would share his knowledge and give his opinion clearly and forthrightly. I needed this. So, the floor is in, and it looks beautiful. I just talked to Joe and he and Floorscapes are still there after the sale. I know I can call on him when I have questions. It has been a fine experience.
Description of Work: Floorscapes came to the house for the estimate and consultation. They worked with me during the long process of selecting a hardwood flooring company and product. They hired the subcontractors and supervised the installation. They provided after the sale consultation and follow-up. Professional and responsive from start to finish.

Excellent. I will use them again for sure!
Description of Work: Sue worked with my husband and I to install flooring in the entire house. She was great and kept track of the job and what needed to be done. The installer, Mike, was excellent. He had a tough time making the woodwork look good because our walls are wavy and not level, but he did it, even around the curved wall. I am now using them to remodel the bathroom. Sue is down to earth and understands things like wanting to work on a budget. Thanks Floorscapes!

The entire job was done to my satisfaction. A representative came to my house, surveyed the job, and gave me an estimate. Shortly thereafter, I received, at my request, an email copy of the estimate. I then called to set up an appointment for the work to be done. The tile installer was prompt, professional, courteous and the experience was overall very satisfying. I was given the Angie's List Discount initially and, afterwards but before the work was completed, I discovered another discount availabe through a local magazine. When I called to inquire if I was elegible for that discount since it was slightly more than the Angie's List discount, the representative gave me BOTH discounts, much to my surprise and appreciation.
Description of Work: The original tile was removed, the floor was then repaired and prepared and new tile was intstalled.

Three particularly good things about working with this company: 1. He came out to measure the day after we stopped in to their store. 2. I only had to wait about 7-10 days for my tile to come in and the installation be completed. 3. The tile installer was awesome. He had to remove carpet and pad from a traffic area (disposed of carpet and pad, too ), cut out some existing tiles in a doorway, prep the floor and install the tile, and then fasten the carpet where it meets the tile. The results are excellent and I am very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: Love my new tile!

We discovered Floorscapes through Angie's List. (Thank you!) Discovered several other flooring companies as well. Invited Floorscapes and two other companies to bid on just re-tiling the kitchen, hallway and one bathroom. Owner Bill Burrell came to do Floorscapes' bid personally. While the price was more than we wanted to hear, it was right in line with what one of the other flooring companies wanted to charge. (The third company we invited was a total disappointment. No enthusiasm, no written quote -- just a phone call, which, by the way, included their suggestion to go to another place to get the tile and a third place to do the demolition and repair of the subfloor. Sheesh!) Anyway, Bill's quote was fair; he reserved the right to increase the cost if his guys discovered real problems with the subfloor. (We all knew that there was at least a small problem with it, but until they demolished the old tile, they didn't know for sure how bad the problem was. As it turned out, Bill did not need to up the price.) So we hired Floorscapes and Bill worked with me every step of the way. He suggested tile choices, made decorating suggestions, and was very patient with me when I changed my mind -- several times!! After the kitchen/bathroom/hallway tile was in, and while we waited for the Konecto plank that was wayyy backordered, we asked about what we could do to improve the appearance of our brick floor. Next thing we know, Floorscapes is stripping and polishing the bricks! Then came the bathroom shower -- which we thought we were going to have a different company -- a bathroom specialty place -- do for us, but since Bill and his guys were so easy to work with, we went with Floorscapes. Next came carpeting for all the bedrooms. Then -- yay! -- the Konecto in the workshop. And finally, the backsplashes in the bathroom and kitchen. These various jobs were spread out from July to December -- not that that was the plan; just happened that way -- but they were well worth the wait. Every bit of Floorscapes' work is gorgeous. We love it! AND they were such a pleasure to work with. Bill came around every time his workers were here, to see how that day's project was going. His guys always showed up on time, were polite, did beautiful work (our house has LOTS of quirks, but they managed to make everything look good in spite of them all), and cleaned up afterward. When we noticed a couple little things that weren't quite right, Bill sent someone over right away to fix it. We spent an awful lot of money doing business with Floorscapes, especially as the scope of our project expanded and expanded (you know how that is?!). But the prices were fair -- and worth it!! All in all, a perfectly Grade A experience.
Description of Work: By the time we were finished doing business with Floorscapes, they had improved almost every square foot of floor in our house. They retiled the kitchen, hallway and one bathroom. They put Konecto "plank" (looks like wood) flooring in our workshop. They installed new carpet in all the bedrooms. They tore out our yucky cheap (from a kit) shower surround and replaced it with beautiful tile. They installed backsplashes in both the kitchen and the bathroom. And they stripped and refinished the brick floor in our great room.

It took us a while to decide on a tile manufacturer - and Joe at Floorscapes was very patient and ended up providing us about a half dozen quotes for different tile patterns and vendors. Tile was ordered and arrived within the quoted time frame. Installers arrived, introduced themselves, and were able to remove baseboards, demo the old tile, and install the new slate by lunch on the first day. Second day was cleaning, sealing, grouting, and reinstalling the baseboards. The installers cleaned up each day and gave instructions for what could and could not be done on the floor at each stage. After install was complete, I noticed a couple of areas that were missing grout. When contacted, Floorscapes sent someone over the next afternoon. Not only did they grout the areas that had been missed, but took another pass over the entire floor. The only place for improvement would be in the re-install of the baseboards. The straight baseboards went back well. However, we have a curve made up of 20 small baseboard pieces that had been glued to the drywall. They did not number/label the pieces, so they did not go back in the same order they came off. Because the glue had taken pieces of drywall with it, the new ordering doesn't lay flat against the wall. In our situation, we already planned to replace baseboards, so the so-so baseboard reinstall gives us more motivation to get that project done. Overall, we are very pleased with the people we dealt with, the process, and the final results.
Description of Work: Ordered and installed approximately 80-100 sq. ft. of natural slate tile in a front entryway. Chose a Versailles pattern.

I really trusted them. Their pricing is very good, and competitive. They were not over priced at all. The gentleman that came and installed the floor did an excellent job. I have lived here 17 years and I can't say that about any other job I've had done here. They were on time and great to deal with. They also have one of the best selections of flooring in all of Albuquerque. It's a nice family owned shop.

Overall, the installation went very well. They arrived on time each day and cleaned up at the end of the days. Unfortunately, a sufficient quantity of wood was not ordered so we had to wait an additional month for the remaining wood to be installed in the last room. Floorscapes did not charge us for this which I thought was incredibly conscientious of them. Other than that the installation went extremely smoothly and was quality work.
Description of Work: We went to the Floorscapes showroom to select an engineered flooring for over 1000 square on 2 sides of our home which has radiant heating. The sales person was helpful in selecting the appropriate product. We are very pleased with our choice of wood flooring. The installation was scheduled over a 2 week period for our convenience in moving and replacing furniture. The installer was brought to our home to see the type of work involved. We had suggested taking out the baseboards, painting them and having them ready for re-installation. Floorscapes recommended against this. In retrospect, I wish we had gone to the expense of replacing the baseboards as the ones in our home were composite wood and do not look as good as if they had been replaced with real wood given the stress of removing and reinstalling them. But this is a minor matter. The wood flooring was installed to our satisfaction and we were pleased with the sales and installer teams.

I had previously selected my ceramic tile, Marazzi Imperial Slate ceramic tile. This store did not have it in stock, but managed to find it for me at a fair price. The salesman had suggestions for size of tile, placement and grout color. I went with his suggestions; 16" square, not offset and a darker grout. The installers arrived promptly as scheduled, work full days and attempted to minimize the mess during the job. I had spoken with the salesman the necessity of removing the linoleum, prepping the floor, removing the baseboards and replacing any broken ones, r&r the toilets and appliances, and cutting doors to accommodate any changes in floor height as well as sealing the tile. The crew headed up by David Lucero (Lobo Construction) did a wonderful job with the installation. I would use his services again. Any unhappy issue I might have is with the company. The salesman visited my house, of course, to see the work to be done. I received the contract later through email. Some items were lost in the process. Replacing broken baseboards was lost. Cutting the doors to accommodate the new floor height did make the contract, but only over the floor itself. Not over the rugs the salesman saw and was sitting over when discussing this need. The quoted price changed as well when they quoted the wrong tax rate. And no sealing of the grout. Having said all this, David did cut the 1 door that needed it. He did replace the broken baseboard after I went and purchased it. (had to settle for what was available in my area. not a match). And he did this without charge. Evidently the grout does not need to be sealed for a few months. However, note that grout dries lighter in color. As a new homeowner, I am learning to become VERY exact with the details involved in a job. I have wood flooring yet to be put down and Floorscapes will not be getting this job. (though David may).
Description of Work: I had linoleum removed and ceramic tile put down in the kitchen, dining room, laundry area, 2 closets and 2 bathrooms.
