Description of Work: The staff at Floorscapes is courteous and professional. Mickey helped us pick flooring for our lifestyle. She designed and oversaw installation, always making sure the end product was exceptional. The installers were amazing craftsmen. Best of all, Mickey gave us the look we wanted while keeping in mind our budget. She saved us $1000 overall.

Description of Work: This company is very professional and installed new flooring (luxury vinyl tile) in the kitchen, den, and laundry room. Job is very professional and looks great. They call and make sure you are happy with the results. They have beautiful inventory to choose from and large samples to take home before you make your decision.

Description of Work: Installed hardwood floors

Description of Work: We contracted with Floorscapes to remove old carpet in a 2500SF home we purchased and install new engineered hardwood flooring. At roughly $12/SF (outrageous!), this was a very expensive project. Upon our first call and visit to the store, the owner, Bill, was very hands-on, patient, and helpful; however, after turning the job over to someone else in the family, we didn't receive great service. This person couldn't answer basic questions about the product and we had to constantly follow up to get answers and satisfaction on various items. In addition, the estimate performed was faulty so the job had to be completed in stages while we awaited more and more material to arrive. This dragged the project out for much longer than it had to be and made it difficult to get settled. | |From the beginning, something was off. When the 50+ boxes of wood arrived, we were shocked to find that they expected one young man to carry ALL of them - by himself - up to our second floor where they were stored until the job began. This was in the September timeframe and it was horribly HOT. We were honestly concerned for his well-being, as he looked like he might have a heart attack. He shouldn't have been sent to unload alone under any circumstances - especially because it was very difficult for him to carry the long boxes without damaging our stairwell or walls. | |Installation itself went fairly smoothly, though on the day the first phase was done, the job boss left early - leaving his underlings to put the doors and baseboards back. We are pretty happy with the baseboards but the doors (all white) were hung with very dirty hands and never wiped afterwards, leaving us with an oily mess and doors which will have to be re-painted. In addition, they left VERY heavy boxes of wood and jugs of adhesive all around the main room - which we ourselves then had to carry (with difficulty) into our garage until the next time they came - WEEKS later. The dust was everywhere. | |Because we have excellent credit, we opted to finance the job through the company but it took no less than SEVEN calls to set up our account (no exaggeration) and a bunch of hassling back and forth with office staff to make sure things were finally administered correctly. It was a complete hassle and we paid the total off a few months later as soon as we could. | |We had to stay on them to finish the job in phases (e.g., calling to see if producs were in so we could schedule) and even things that were promised weren't done so we had to ask repeatedly (e.g., filling in the nail holes on the stairs). The contractor said he would do this when he came back the last time but did not bring the right materials to do so. At times, he had disagreements with the store contact and this was something we had to hear about that should have been dealt with behind closed doors. I guess we should have been happy that he did come back when he had the final piece of product that was owed us because every time we called to schedule, we were told that they were SO busy and we had to wait. For $20,000...really? | |At least once, we tried to drop items (like samples) off at the store on our way to work when the store was supposed to be open. Despite this fact, no one was around to help and we were late for work because no one was there and we had to wait. Very unprofessional. | |All in all, we were satisfied with the final result in terms of the quality of the installation and the product and would use the contractor again if he weren't associated with the store. He did a great job on both the wood and a decorative tile riser we used on our staircase. However, for the price we paid (especially), we expected better service and responsiveness. In fact, we were told several times that someone would come out during or after the job to check everything, see how it looked, and assure our satisfaction, but no one has ever shown up.

Description of Work: Floorscapes was very helpful and professional. Mickey did an excellent job helping me pick out some tiles to take to my home to see how I liked them. Their showroom is really great as you can see different sizes of tile, different sizes of grout lines, and different ways of laying the tile. The two young gentlemen who delivered my tile were a breath of fresh air because they actually had manners and were very polite. The Imperial Quartz worked perfect as my dog freaks out on tile and this particular tile had a rougher texture than the others. She not only walks on it but she even will play on it. So happy with my purchase and they were very reasonably. I used an individual for the installation but am sure they would do a great job installing also. Only one negative was they do have a 25% restocking fee; I ordered about 300 sq ft too much tile and had to pay a restocking fee of 25%. Oh well lesson learned, next time I will have the vendor measure for me.
