Fix It 4U-handyman services

I have worked with Hal on a number of occasions...so the last time was very simple. But he has also helped with smoke alarms, & a number of other projects. What I have appreciated is his quick response time, his friendly manner, and his willingness to offer a range of suggestions as to solving a particular problem.

My mailbox had been vandalized. He had to replace it and straighten it. He got on the roof, found the area where the leaks originated and showed them to me. He also pointed out that the roof was very old and had probably been covered with new rocks to mask it when the house was sold to me. When he finished he gave me a list of what to look for and questions to ask when finding a roofer. It snowed the next couple of day but my roof did not leak. I am starting a new list for him to fix in the near future.

Hal does a great job. He is a good handyman and does professional work.

He gave us a very fair estimate for doing the job. When he had completed the drywall, etc. He found that the roof repair would be less extensive that he had estimated. He offered to lower his estimate, but I paid the original estimate because I was so pleased with his honesty. I would highly recommend him.

Overall very happy with Hal's work. Hal came up with creative solutions to the small handyman jobs that I had, and gave good advice on minor items that I chose to do myself.

Hal Smith is excellent! If you need a handyman, he is the one to call. I purchased a beautiful set of outdoor furniture for my deck and needed a pro to do the assembly. He completed the work almost effortlessly... and at once I realized he had the knowledge of an architect and the know-how of a construction pro. He is responsive, knowledgeable, and well equipped. Hal Smith was professional, knowledgable, punctual and courteous. What else could you possibly say?

Hal did a great job. He did the work on my mom's house. He call and said he was heading to my moms house and said he would be there in 30 minutes. When I got there he was already there and had his equipment set up to work on hanging the front door. As always things never work out as planned. He came up with ideas to get the job done right, he knows his craft very well. Had issues on both doors and he came up with great ways to do a super job. We will use Hal again for sure.

The experience was excellent. He came over promptly. We called him and he came by the next day. He was experienced, analytical and thoughtful about how to solve problems in an old house. He came back while I was out of town. He solved a number of problems relating to weather stripping, a new threshold, improving the drainage on the porch and removing a shower enclosure. He is excellent at what he does. The price was fair.

Mr. Smith was great. He called immediately to discuss scheduling, and at the time was scheduling for the following week. That Monday morning, as promised, he called to set up a specific day and time. He arrived on time, scoped out the work, and went right to it. Each project had its frustrations given previous work that had been done on the house, but he was very resourceful in figuring out how to deal with each challenge. The three projects took a full day of work with a lunch break, and they all turned out very nicely. These small changes have made a big improvement in our use of our home. Mr. Smith was straightforward and easy to deal with, and his fee is extremely reasonable.

Hal showed up when he said he would meet me, discussed what I needed done in clear terms, and made some very helpful suggestions. He completed all the work before asking for any money. He tolerated my crazy schedule with grace and took my personal check without batting an eye. We did not have a written contract, nor did I feel I needed one. I have only been up on the roof once to look at his work, but it looked fantastic up there and I feel confident that when eventually it does rain here in Albuquerque (and it will, eventually - probably too much all at once) my roof won't leak.

Hal was always on time. Professional and friendly, knew what he was doing. He knew all the questions to ask to make sure he understood what I wanted before he started.

Hal was very responsive, and is very intelligent and creative. After his first visit, when he diagnosed the need for a tall chain-link gate, he constructed this and installed it two weeks later. We were happy with Hal's work. He added additional strength to the poles by using extra screws at the joints. He dug holes 16 inches deep with the help of a mechanical auger and a posthole digger.

The vent was not working and he went into the attic to fix it. He was professional. He went out of his way to solve the problem. He was just wonderful!

He always does a great job and takes the time to educate me on how to do things myself in the future.

Originally, we hired Hal to repair water damaged walls and window sills. We had contacted three handymen for estimates, and chose Hal because of the thorough job he did inspecting the wall to determine the extent of damage. He was able to repair the damage and restore the appearance at a very reasonable price. We were so pleased that we asked him to perform the other repairs for us. In each case, Hal offered us a cost-effective solution that resolved the problem. Hal was always prompt and cleaned up after himself. He was pleasant to interact with and accomodated our crazy schedules and availability.

I was very happy with their services and their capabilities. They have a wide range of skills and are very meticulous. They cleaned up and put the wall back up like it never happened; and, not expensive. There was nothing that I wasn’t pleased with.

The two separate jobs Hal helped me with went very smoothly. I decided to add some addional requests to the work and he did everything to work me into his busy schedule and not disrupt my household more than needed. He would check in with me almost every day to ask me how I felt about the progress and the work.

Wonderfully, Hal was very communicative throughout, came out right away, and the work was done within a week's time. He even charged less than his estimate, which showed me he's really honest and I'd recommend him any day.

The last time they came out was in December and they did a great job.
