Description of Work: Have used him before, and he's great. He researched purchase and installation of a new security gate for us, and since the gate mfr. does their own installation we didn't need him. But will use next time.

Description of Work: Hal Smith replaced the handle on an outdoor faucet. When the new one we had purchased would not work, he located one that would, and attached it. Formerly he had repaired a cabinet door that kept swinging open. He works quickly, but thoroughly.

Description of Work: Fixed my back storm door. It was coming off from the back of the house.

Description of Work: Hal stopped by and suggested a procedure to repair a pocket door in our kitchen. I called later to schedule the work, and he arrived on time two days later. He did an excellent job in minimum time. Very professional and reliable service.

Description of Work: Various odd jobs. In fairness to Contractor, most items needed to be REPLACED instead of being repaired. They still need to be replaced.

Description of Work: Fix-It-4U is like having your own perfect "husband" - Hal can fix anything! Great work. I have used him several time sand he always double checks his previous jobs.

Description of Work: We have had several small jobs to be done around the house that we weren't confident to attempt ourselves -- moving electrical outlets, concrete repair, adding a mail slot, small plumbing jobs, etc. -- and we were getting frustrated with folks not returning calls -- they would come out to give an estimate, but then we'd never hear from them again. Hal answered our initial inquiry promptly and professionally, and actually showed up for the look-see and estimate on the date/time he said he would... WE NEARLY FAINTED! He's already completed a few of the many jobs we have listed, and we are so pleased; professional, tidy, thorough, friendly, reasonable. We are going to continue to use Hal as our go-to guy!

Description of Work: Replaced range hood, repaired roof and repaired motion sensor light. Great service on all.

Description of Work: Re-tile and re-grout and evaluate bottom of stand-up shower. Hal is very professional, on-time and does an excellent job in any work that needs to be done. We have used his services many times at our residence. He found a leak that roofer's could not find, and made suggestions on what to work on to extend the life of the roof. He will teach you up to your level if you are attentive and willing to learn. He serviced and taught an extensive lesson on swamp cooler maintenance. He will teach or perform the job if that is not your thing. His attention to detail is hard to find in today's world. He is the kind of contractor that does what needs to be done and will not add additional things if they are not needed. He is very trustworthy.

Description of Work: Fixed a leaky toilet tank. Sealed 2nd-story windows with caulk.

Description of Work: Replaced concrete on the walkway adjacent to the garage and in the patio area where they had been severe root damage. Also repaired the garage roof and lifted the center of the roof to eliminate the low spot where water had continued to pool. Also repaired the stucco where concrete replaced some block stairs and in the patio area where a section of stucco was exposed.

Description of Work: Plastering repair and minor roof repair.

Description of Work: Performed repair on exterior decorative wood trim and applied a water sealant to the wood.
