The work was satisfactory. They were more expensive than anyone else. I complained to management and they said that was the price. I didn't get any satisfaction when I tried to talk to them. The installers were very courteous. I signed a contract and they said if I were to cancel I would still have to pay. I would not recommend them.

My wife and I were looking to replace our tiled shower with an acrylic polymer smooth wall system. After some research, we asked Dreamstyle to show us the Cirrus Marble Wall system. The salesperson came at appointed time and had an hour long sales pitch. I tried to bring him to the point several times but to no avail. The whole sales pitch, according to him, was necessary. I was able to ask questions and the salesperson appeared to be very knowledgeable about the product, and the manufacturer had provided many detailed pictures and drawings as to how the system was installed. Two things were of concern, water leakage and smoothness or flatness and rigidity of the walls (think granite verses fiberglass shower walls). This second concern came about when I saw how thin the material was. Because of how the manufacturer said the system was to be installed and their triple walled corners, I was assured that this product would be as good as a rigid wall system. Then came a hard sell, complete with special deals. My wife and I have a 24-hour "wait and see" compact (sometimes shorter than 24 hours but never a buy on the spot), and so he was required to wait. (We had looked at Angies List, gone to a home fair and were almost ready to accept Dreamstyle but we like the step "back and look" approach.) The price was higher than we had hoped, but Dreamstyle had good ratings and so they were selected. I think it would be better if Dreamstyle dropped the hard sell approach. The work supervisor arrived on time to inspect the work to be done and what he stated would be done and what the salesperson said did not agree, nor did this agree with the description given by the manufacturer, but we reached an agreement as to what was to be done. The main disagreement point was over the removal of the tile [to provide the proper surface as described by the manufacturer] and the supervisor agreed to include it in the job. (Again, think granite verses fiberglass shower walls.) The craftsperson arrived one and one half hours late with the excuse that Dreamstyle was so busy that he couldn?t get to the warehouse and make the scheduled time. (First red flag for me.) He then explained why there was only one person, and not two, sent to do the job. Why this explanation was considered necessary I don?t know but it sent another red flag. He then explained that he had an appointment and would need to leave early. I was not in any great hurry and was willing to allow whatever time was necessary and stated that I had no problem with the job taking a second day. I asked several questions about him and his work environment and he freely talked. His statement that he worked flat-rate and liked it because he could make more money that way, was the next red flag. However, as he setup his work, he tuned into a Christian radio station and this gave me some hope that he would do what was right. (As it turned out his Christianity did not include his work ethic or demeanor.) I help him carry his tools upstairs and set out to be friendly, so that I could watch his work. I understand remodeling and wanted to be sure work was done properly. As one might expect the tile removal became a fact of disagreement and in the end I allowed him to leave the tile on the two walls that did not have plumbing. (This was my first mistake, but I was trying to be reasonable.) Next, because he forgot a pipe wrench, he tried to remove the shower head pipe by using the handle of a pair of pliers but broke the pipe off instead. In my opinion an indication that he was going to take shortcuts. There was no evidence of water getting into the framing and so no treatment of the framing. (Note, the salesperson had made a big deal about treatment but I let this go.) Shortly after this, the craftsperson asked me to stop watching as it made him nervous and I agreed to step away while he worked. When he would go out to the van or do other work outside the bathroom, I would go in and inspect. If, I thought something could be improved or something was different from what the salesperson had stated, I would ask a question or make the statement that the salesperson said this or that would be done. It was only a few hours into the job that he just plainly said that he was the expert and that I was in no way to go into the room or look at anything until he was done. I was unwilling to follow his request and so at one point he just turned to me and told me that I was making him late for his next job. If, one understands being paid flat-rate, one will understand that this man had no intention of doing the proper job, but only one he hoped he could get by with. Another example of this person?s improper work ethic involves the special corners for the shower. The salesperson spent five or ten minutes explaining a special corner that this system used and when the kit came there were two angle items that matched this description. I noticed that these items were not being installed and questioned the craftsperson. His statement was that these items were optional and only installed at his discretion. A call to Dreamstyle proved this to be wrong and as far as I could tell they were installed but the craftsperson did everything possible to keep me from inspecting (later when the rework was done, this was proved false). There were a number of other items in the kit, but because I could not determine their use they were not installed. The craftsperson said that they were never used and he didn?t know why they were in the kit. (If this person had been instructed on the manufacturer?s procedures, why did he not know their use?) That night the shower dripped all night long and when I call the next day the work supervisor came over and stopped the leak, but the shower handle no longer pointed straight down when off. The following were done in a poor manner: 1) The shower handle did not point straight down when off. 2) The shower cap or top was not aligned with the sides making the area look strange. 3) The shower end walls go a long distance into the bathroom. I believed the reason was that the craftsman did not want to take the time to cut the end and placed them in the shower as they came. (Later this proved not to be the case but I still think these walls looked like poor workmanship.) 4) One of the shower shelves was not level. 5) The wall opposite the shower head, which had tile left from about one foot up, was not even or straight. The bottom was cupped in, not level or straight with, the tile portion. While this was not noticeable just looking at it, the shower door is fastened to this wall and there was a gap at the lower end and is very visible when the door is shut. I wrote most of what one sees above and sent that draft to the work supervisor, asking him if he wanted that rating sent to Angies List? He came over within a couple of days and agreed to replace the two end walls and straighten up the shower handle and shelves. The caveat was that the craftsperson who installed the job would do the rework. If one understands "flat-rate", they will know that the craftsperson has been paid for the job and that this rework will be without pay. However, I was assured that the craftsperson had been talked to and an understand reached. Because I had no real choice, I agreed. After a long waiting period (about one or two weeks longer than the original delivery period), I began calling and asking when the rework would be done, and it was finally scheduled. When the craftsperson arrived, it was obvious he was an unhappy person. I thought his work ethic or demeanor was poor before, but it became obvious that he was going to show me how bad it could be. This man will never be allowed into my home again. One shelf is still not level, and the back wall is not straight where it connects to the shower pan. It is wavy and it is obvious that this wall is not a thick material that can hold its own shape. Also, he left a mess that I had to clean up. Calls to the work supervisor were not returned at first, and later when my call was returned and he agreed to come by on a certain day, he never showed up nor did he call and explain his absence. The Cirrus Marble Wall system, if installed in the manner suggested by the manufacturer (at least in the manner that the salesperson said the manufacturer suggested), would be a great asset to any home and if anyone likes and wants this system great. Just don?t ask Dreamstyle to install it. Find a small independent contractor who wants to make happy customers and get great referrals.
Description of Work: Remove & Reinstall Glass Door, Open water wall & remove all tiles in wet area. Install new Moen Valve (+/- 3°). Treat framing & install new shower pan. Install water proof wall board, install smooth Cirrus Marble Wall system and ceiling panel, (2) corner shelves, (2) ADA Grab Bars.

The only hitch was that one of the windows did not arrive with the others. They had to return several weeks later to install the last window. The cost is high, but the windows are beautiful and work wonderfully. The repair to the stucco was so good that one can't tell that it was repaired. They cleaned up the debris and took away the old windows and all the other materials.
Description of Work: They replace 7 (or 13 individual) single pane windows with dual pane windows, provided trim around the windows on the inside and repaired the stucco on the outside.

Delivery trucks had been stolen, so the two men sent to deliver and set up had to put it on the top of a personal truck and wiggle it off onto a dolly. Scary. Once in, they were awesome explaining everything and getting it ready to use the same night. I did have trouble with well water and metals. They added 1 bottle of Metal Gon but it wasn't enough and the water turned green. Just be sure if you are on a well to use two bottles of Metal Gon (each one is 16 fluid ounces).

Everyone from sales rep to the window installers acted professional and punctual; but in the end, we're happy with the windows. They look great and we've already noticed a difference; reason being, is that the new Anderson Windows -Series 1 stopped the draft and moisture collecting. I know it's still early in the cold season, but the prior windows it was easily felt and seen the day before the install. Last, I should note that their price was higher than anticipated, but they we're upfront and I know it paid for quality and workmanship.

Dear [member name removed], Renewal by Andersen provides state-of-the-art, custom made windows and doors, and there are many unique aspects of our products that require explanation from an expert, ranging from the way gases are calibrated between the window panes depending on the elevation of your home to the functionality of our patented Fibrex material. In order to serve our customers most effectively and efficiently, we have found that having our window representative meet with both homeowners to fully explain our products and answer any subsequent questions ensures our prospective customers are fully informed before making a significant home purchase decision. My experience with the Renewal by Andersen (RBA) people was incredible. Everyone I spoke with (in person and by phone) was very friendly, helpful, patient, thorough and professional. The first person I meet was RBA Production Manager; Mr. Mezzetti he did an onsite inspection and provided me with an estimate. He was very knowledgeable about the product, warranty information, financing, and much more. When I expressed concerns with the finance plan Mr. Mezzetti called his finance department and acquired a different finance plan that worked for me. Once I made the decision to have my windows replaced, Mr. Mezzetti wrote up the sales agreement and worked with me to set up a schedule that worked with my schedule. The schedule was not an estimate; it was exact dates of when the physical work would take place. I was skeptical that they could keep the schedule but they did. Next my window openings had to be precisely measured. The RBA Measure Tech Permit Coordinator, Mr. Barela who was to measure my windows called me the day before the planned schedule to let me know he would arrive the next day to perform his job. Mr. Barela was on time and after measuring the windows he took time to discuss with me the window fabrication and what to expect during installation. He also showed me some issues that a previous contractor (not associated with RBA) had caused when they replaced the same windows in 2003. Mr. Barela was confident that the issues could be dealt with during installation of my new RBA windows. Next contact I had was when I received a call the day before the windows were scheduled to be installed. The call was from the RBA Installation Manager, Mr. Cromwell to inform me that he and the crew would be there the next day. Mr. Cromwell and the Crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. Mr. Cromwell took time to discuss with me everything that was about to happen and was willing to answer any questions I had. He had obviously spoken with Mr. Barela because he was fully aware of the issues that the previous contractor had caused. After inspecting the issues, he was confident they could resolve them. Mr. Cromwell and the crew were very experienced professionals and had all the right tools and equipment to handle project. They were very conscience about cleanliness. After each window was installed they cleaned the area inside my house as well as outside in the yard. After completing the installation of all five (5) windows the Mr. Cromwell requested that we do a walk around inspection inside and outside my house. I was very satisfied with the work they had performed. He then went over some information regarding the care and maintenance of my new windows. I was amazed with how smooth all of the windows operate. My experience with Renewal by Andersen was excellent. The entire team was incredible. If I ever replace another window I will only call Renewal by Andersen.

We went to their new showroom based on the address on their website. They had moved from that address months before but didn't bother to change the address online. It took us an hour to find their new showroom. I suggested they fix their website and also made the same suggestion to their Cottonwood location who I eventually called to get their current address. It still hasn't been fixed. Everyone working there was brand new and didn't know anything about what they were selling. One man told us he started working there an hour prior to our arrival! Obviously, no training was provided. We had a really bad feeling about working with this company based on such a poor initial experience. Have steered clear since.

However; less than six months later, the caulking in one of the showers started to separate. I emailed my original Design Consultant on July 24, 2014 to let him know of my dissatisfaction with the caulking. I got his email address off the business card he left behind. He never responded by email or by phone. On August 18, 2014, I stopped by Renewal by Andersen's main office, located at Indian School, August 8th, 2014 and let the woman at the front desk know of my problem. She said the design consultant, Jacob, still worked there and that she would have someone else contact me the next day. I have not heard one word from Renewal. Today is September 2, 2014 and I just made an appoinment with Yourson Construction to come to my home to repair the caulking, at my cost.
Description of Work: First let me preface this by saying that Renewal by Andersen was the contrator that hired another business to do the work. The work was completed October 2013. I was very happy with the work and gave them a good review; they replaced two shower liners and a bathtub. Renewal also hired Four Seasons to build a pergola in my backyard...they did a great job!

Thank you for your review. We'd like to clarify that Renewal by Andersen is solely a window and door replacement company. While some of our partners sell other products and services in addition to ours, Renewal by Andersen is not a general contractor on other types of home renovations. We apologize for your experience and have passed your feedback on to our local team so they can improve their processes.

Great product but in the end the company let us down. In the spring of this year we met with a consultant from Renewal by Anderson of Albuquerque and purchased replacement windows and a new back patio door. All seemed to be going well as we started the process. Our salesman was not too pushy and we felt comfortable with him. There were a few missed calls but we would (eventually) get a call back if we had questions while awaiting the install date. The gentleman who came to take measurements was punctual and quick. Our installation happened in late May and the two installers were GREAT! The were also punctual as well as clean, swift and paid attention to detail. They did a wonderful job installing our windows and doors. I was very satisfied with their work ethic. The trouble came after everything was said and done. We never heard from this company again. Everything would have been all A's on this review if they would have stood up to their many claims of wonderful customer service as well as caring about the customer. The main issue was when we purchased the windows and door with the sales rep. we were told we would see paperwork (fully executed contract, copy of lifetime warranty, etc.) via email within 3 days. After not seeing it we called our sales rep. who then said it would be with the measurement guy and we would get it then. The measurement guy said we would get it when they installed the windows. The installers had a pamphlet they gave to us but not what we were expecting. We called our sales guy a few weeks later thinking maybe they had to have time to finalize the price after installation, we received no call back. We had to find out the final price through the bank! We called the office and no one was available to help us. We were told to leave a message and they will get "right back to us", we never received a call back. We finally sent in the Renewal by Anderson survey we had been holding on to (after giving them chances to get in touch with us and correct the situation before we filled out the survey) knocking them for not communicating with us at all after installation. We even checked the box at the end that said "Check here if you would like a Customer Service Rep. to contact you.", do you think we have received a call from them? NO. For all we know we actually aren't supposed to receive anything and someone misspoke. It really was a simple question throughout this whole thing: Where is the paperwork? All they needed to do was call us back and answer the question and it would have been golden but instead it felt like we were simply dismissed after they collected their money and were done with our project. We invested a lot of money here and couldn't even get a call back , very frustrating and marred the whole experience.

If I would give them a grade overall, I am giving them a C- by being generous. Fundamentally, they are three problems: they promised to provide a professional work, with a tile person, a plumbing person, and a interior wall construction, like a carpenter. But, I only got one guy at all. I did not got all these people promised. Second, the work that was promised to take two weeks, took three. They were late at coming to work. The third input is that only once the manager came here to see the work. I was the quality control me and my wife. I do have positive credit to the guy who installing glasses in the shower. He did a great job. The reason that I am giving them a C on professionalism, is that I did not get the trade estimate that I was supposed to have.

I called July 10th to make an appointment to have a rep come out to the house my wife and I just bought to have some windows installed in the front porch and potentially to install windows and doors in our garage conversion. They lady was nice, however when we set up the date and time, she insisted that my wife be present during the consultation. I told her that wouldn't be possible since my wife just started a contract job and can't be away from work; however she insisted it was company policy. I told her that her competitor came out just fine and in fact just left me with a quote which I would like for Andersen to bid on since the home has Andersen windows already and they look nice. She said they wouldn't be able to make an appointment. I said are you sure you want to miss on an opportunity for a little business and she just repeated that it was company policy. The previous owners spend 20K on the windows and Andersen won't see my business for windows and doors. Really unfortunate...while I understand they want to ensure everyone is on the same page, I have not run into this for any of the other contractors we are working with (major kitchen remodel, bedroom conversion to master bath), etc. If they don't care about taking on new business, then I would assume they also don't care about the job they do, so I think we dodged a bullet here.
Description of Work: Called to schedule an appointment for replacement glass probably worth 4K of service. Andersen would not make the appointment if both spouses are not present. Unbelievable that they would simply say its company policy to have both spouses present and miss a sale and future sale regarding garage conversion.

Dear (member name removed), Renewal by Andersen provides state-of-the-art, custom made windows and doors, and there are many unique aspects of our products that require explanation from an expert, ranging from the way gases are calibrated between the window panes depending on the elevation of your home to the functionality of our patented Fibrex material. In order to serve our customers most effectively and efficiently, we have found that having our window representative meet with both homeowners to fully explain our products and answer any subsequent questions ensures our prospective customers are fully informed before making a significant home purchase decision. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about our processes further if you are interested. Thank you for your feedback! Sincerely, Dawn Dewey Marketing Director ddewey@dreamstyleremodeling.com 505-881-3200 ext. 135

Installation methods changed at the last minute. First no stucco, then stucco. Stucco color and texture did not match existing surfaces. They re-matched color immediately. But texture was not matched. Staff said that installation was good quality per other jobs. One window did not open easily. Parts were replaced 3 times; window now works well. Very expensive project. Lengthy because of problems. Questionable installation quality re cosmetic value of home. House is now cool and comfortable. Expect lower refrigeration costs. Great windows!

Overall, we had a good experience with Renewal by Andersen and we are so happy with our new windows and doors! That said, placing the initial order was a bit hectic as Andersen does the door-to-door sales pitch. When the salesman came to our house, it was a bit high-pressure. In addition, he was pushing the most expensive windows they had and offered us the highest interest rate. We didn't know any better and accepted the deal. A few days later, my husband got cold feet. We knew we could get out of the contract within 72 hours and called them up to cancel. When we did, the customer service woman we spoke with was very friendly and immediately started accommodating us by coming down on price and the interest rate. Renewal did not want to lose this sale! In the end, we got a good deal for over 16 windows and 5 sets of sliding glass doors at a very reasonable interest rate. So the lesson here is, if you go with Andersen, be sure to ask the salesperson for a menu of all the different options of windows, their prices, and the interest rate options before you sign a contract! Otherwise, we had a great experience. Installation went incredibly smooth. They completed the entire job in less than 4 days, then came back about a week later to do the stucco matching. My husband managed most of the interaction with the site manager and installers, but he did not complain about anything major during or after installation. So, I give them an overall B rating, mainly because we didn't like the sales process. Otherwise, these are high-quality, excellent windows and doors that should last us for years and help with our utility bills.

The most unprofessional reversal of the concept of service provider we have come in contact with.
Description of Work: Renewal by Anderson refused to schedule an appointment for consultation for complete replacement of 28 windows and 2 doors in our home and restucco, since both spouses were unable to be present. We assured them that either spouse had authority regards gathering information, but they said "oh well, sorry, have a nice day"

It went quite well. Jesse and crew arrived even before the scheduled time and got to work. Had 15 windows replaced the first day and two the next day. We would have appreciated it if they would have covered more of our furniture especially the first day considering the New Mexico spring winds. More effort was made to cover the furniture the second day. The stucco crew arrived the morning of the second day and finished the first part of their job. The crew will come back in a week to finish the final color coat.

It went well. They did everything they said they were going to do. There were occasional problems, but they fixed everything that was an issue. I went with them because another name brand was more expensive so from my perspective their price was good. They were here when they said they would be.
Description of Work: I used Renewal by Andersen of New Mexico to put in new windows around my house.
