They removed the old one. Several people came out to do the service. It took them two days to complete the new roof. I would have given them an 'A' except for the fact that they really didn't do a good job cleaning up afterwards inside the house. Outside, they did pretty good. Again, not excellent, but good. They left a lot of debris inside and they spilled something on one of my rugs, which they did not take care of.
Description of Work: They did a completely new roof.

Individual came out and measures for the job and provided a quote at that time. I considered putting the same roof on but the price had more than doubled in 7 years. I did a further investigation of the roof membrane and found numerous areas that was alligatoring. I called and spoke to the person who gave the estimate and he told me that the membrane does allligtor when it receives hail damage. The only problem with that explanation is that the alligatoring was in areas that had no hail damage. The size of the hail was dime size. One other issue when they originally replaced the built up roof the gravel was not removed and the roof went over the top of the old roof. When the roof was replace this time numerous area of the decking had to be replaced and these areas had to be present prior to the installation of the membrane roof but not recommendation to replace the decking prior to installation was ever mentioned. Very disappointed with the service and product warranty for the alligatoring.
Description of Work: Had hail damage to a previously install roof by BAC. Needed to replace the roof due to leaks.

Had to wait 2 months to get work done as the company was heavily booked but once work started it was done promptly and efficiently with excellent follow up. Team was respectful and courteous. I considered 8 other roofing companies and systems including tar & gravel, foam and membrane and found BAC explanations and videos of the procedures to be the most clear, understandable and credible of all the companies. All questions were factually addressed before and during services. The procedures matched their marketing to a tee. I'm very pleased that I selected BAC. The BAC membrane roof costs seem high but are virtually equivalent to costs quoted by other companies when you add in the other company's unspecified costs for additional, required services and warrantees for the T&G or foam roofs. All costs were all included in the BAC contract (including permit, taxes and warrantee) and there were no hidden or additional charges. I feel confident that any needed follow up or warrantees will be honored.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking tar & gravel flat roof with membrane roof & replaced 4 skylights.

My roof was leaking in a few places, and I had done some research and looked on Angie's List. I had another bid for some spot repairs and a partial new roof, and then met with Bill from BAC, on two of my neighbors recommendations. I discussed it with my USAA Insurance adjuster who told me that they never have complaints about BAC (vs the other roofing company) . I don't want to be looking for another roof when I'm 80, so that helped me make the decision, even knowing they are more expensive than others. Diego was the foreman, and ALL the workers were very polite, respectful, clean, and worked extremely hard, usually 10 hours/day. Roofers and Road workers have always had my utmost respect. The crew started on a Thursday morning, but had completed over 40 hrs for the week, (they worked 10 hrs that day) so they didn't return until the following Monday. They worked 3 days, but then it rained , so that postponed the rest of the work until the following Monday. They brought another crew hoping to get the job finished, but it had poured by my house. They came each morning and actually shoveled rain water off my roof during those days. Some of the sky-lites apparently had to be re-made due to some problems with the measurement, so that last step was just completed yesterday-from start to finish 3 weeks. My only problem came when they were finishing up and I realized that the built up sky-lites needed to be dry-walled and painted before they put the sky-lites on, due to security bars. Fortunately, one of the roofers called a friend, who called another friend who came over after his day job on 3 different afternoons to install the sheet rock, dry wall, and paint. I was able to use $500 coupon from Angie's List which helped. So all in all, I would highly recommend BAC and their workers
Description of Work: Installed new foam/ membrane roof, removed old tar and gravel roof and built up areas for better drainage. In addition, they had to build up 4 of 5 sky-lites, and installed new sky-lites. I have a standard size house with a second story addition that almost doubles the size of the original house, plus the garage and 2 small porch overhangs. BAC provides a lifetime warranty on the materials.

Completely satisfied with the workmanship, product quality, and professionalism of workers. The only thing I could add for improvement is notification of changes to the scheduled start date. I completely understand schedule slipping due to weather at prior clients work sites, but it would be helpful for BAC scheduling services to initiate contact to inform the customer of the new expected start date and to keep future clients informed. This would help greatly in planning around other personal events.

From the beginning, there were some problems. He informed me that he was going to be leaving for a week. Nothing moved along smoothly. I tried to get a hold of the owner. The only I could contact or deal with was the son of the owner. He didn't strike me as very professional, and I've been a merchant for 25 years. There were 2 rooms along with the back porch that had the lining installed upside down (you could read the script). When I contacted the company about this issue, they sent a technician who came prepared to just paint between the boards on the back porch with black paint (on natural wood). I caught him just in time, and I stopped him. In the end they did replace the linings, but they never pitched the roof. They did announce to me that they had pitched the roof, but they missed 4 areas which still collect water to this day. We are going to have to replace the boards in the back porch, which has just become a swimming pool with all the water that it's collected when we've had heavy rain. They should have extended the roof so that it extends past the porch, not stopping short of it. We are now unable to install solar panels because of these areas on our roof.
Description of Work: They were supposed to replace the entire roof with a first class roof.

Response from CAS Enterprises, Inc
I would like to start this response by saying that [Member Name Removed] seems to be a racist. The first day she kick the crew off because they spoke mostly Spanish and she didn't want "those" kind of people around on her job. All of my crew members are legal to work within the United States. I do agree that there were some issues with the job, the salesman that sold the job, who no longer is employed by BAC Enterprises, was about to leave the company and was doing things in a not so professional manner. Once we found the issue with the salesperson, he was soon gone and we worked hard to resolve all the issues that he had created with Ms [Member Name Removed]. As far as the pitching of the roof, the roof is within code requirements for slope. There are a few areas between the crickets that may hold a little water. They are still within code because the water is evaporated within 48 hours. We will, however, go and put more material in them so that there is no water held on this roof. As to not extending the material far enough on the back porch, the back porch was roofed to the edge of the porch. We were never contracted to redesign the porch and frame the porch so that the roof passes her retaining wall. Next, the issue with the installation of the solar panels, there are no issues roof related that would stop the proper installation of a solar system. More than likely, the issue is no company wanting to work for Ms [Member Name Removed]. I am the son of the owner that she is talking about. I have owned BAC Interprises for more than 20 years. Sometimes, [Member Information Removed] don't like what I have to tell them because they think I should do anything they say no matter what. This is the case with Ms [Member Name Removed].

First and foremost, the roof that BAC installs is the highest quality product I have seen. I appreciate that their price is higher than other roofing companies would bid for the same project, but I chose not to penalize their rating because I feel the product received was worth the price paid. I had fought a leak in my guest bedroom for five years, and the peace of mind that comes with this new roof is very refreshing. Also, the Angie's List discount was very appreciated. Wes, the salesman, also extended me and my neighbor a $250 discount for scheduling the jobs together, so I feel that the bottom line was very favorable given the quality of work. Second, the scheduling. I signed up for work in early July 2015, and the roof was completed in November 2015. This company and the roof technology they provide was clearly in high demand, and I had no misgivings with the wait associated with our position in the job queue. Wes kept me in the loop regarding scheduling as the work got closer. To me, this was a sign of a high quality company in demand. It also assures me that they will be around for years to honor the 10-year warranty they provide on the install, which is a great deal. Once the work began, the BAC foreman and his team were prompt, professional, and efficient. They finished the whole project in less than two days, which was impressive. The foreman communicated well what he and his team were doing, consulted with me when I had questions, and even pointed out some other problems I was having. I have had no issues with the roof since, and it is very refreshing watching the water flow out of the custom-fitted canales and know that none of that water will be getting into my house unless I go collect it with a bucket.

This is an updated review and meant to replace my earlier assessment of the persistent roof leak problem we'd been experiencing since our new BAC roof was installed in 2012. To put things simply I must say that I jumped the gun on my previous review of BAC. As it turns out, our persistent roof leak had nothing to do with our BAC membrane roof or its installation. So my apologies to BAC as a company and to those BAC employees who attempted to resolve this issue the past three visits to our home. Out of frustration over this issues, I had asked BAC to send out a manager to review our roof leak issue and BAC sent Lucas (Field Manager) and Matt out to the house yesterday. I had dealt with Lucas once before and again found him extremely knowledgeable, polite and courteous, and professional, aside from his already positive demeanor. Lucas suggested the possibility that the leak could be emanating from an area of compromised stucco. After conducting two separate water tests, one on the roof in the leak area and the other soaking the nearby stucco area, the results were as follows: no water leaked into our home via the BAC roof membrane but within 8-10 minutes of soaking the adjacent stucco with water, a leak developed in the same location of the previous two leak incidents. Conclusion? The BAC roof membrane was not the issue nor was its installation. Compromised stucco was the culprit. So once again BAC came through for us. Although somewhat red-faced for jumping the gun on BAC, I want to thank Lucas and BAC for finally resolving this leak issue for us. No matter how frustrated or impatient I became during this process every BAC employee I spoke to or interacted with responded with courtesy, patience, and professionalism. It's obvious now that BAC instills this sort of attitude and business approach in all its employees and trains them accordingly. All in all, I consider BAC roofs a great alternative to tar and gravels and find the company itself the VERY BEST in responsiveness and customer service. I hope I can find a stucco company with even half the good qualities of BAC...

BAC did an excellent installation job. the installers were friendly and courteous. They were careful to seal around all my Canales, to not allow mice coming in to the house. The roof is watertight, having gone through many rainstorms. I had my solar reinstalled with the weighted ballast system frames on top of the roof, and have had no issues from that. To help prevent any issues I was able to obtain some additional IP membrane to use as pads around my ballast solar frames. They came back for a post install inspection and wanted to ensure that the job was done to my satisfaction, I was very happy with the quality of work. I was very pleased that the white surface of the roof is remarkable in that the house is much cooler under the hot summer sun. With my previous roofs, you could feel the heat transmitting from the ceiling during the summer. So the BAC roof is a remarkable improvement from a heat reflection standpoint as well. I am very happy with the roof and the long life I am anticipating. I would use them again in a heartbeat as they are a great value.
Description of Work: Re-roofed our house with IB membrane roof system. They were careful to seal around the canales so mice would not be able to enter into the walls and our house. I have had 3 different roofing systems put on my house, during remodels and because of faulty systems, not using BAC because they seemed expensive. But looking back, I spent 1.5 times that amount on the other roofs with marginal quality. It would have been much cheaper and more cost effective to have just used BAC in the first place.

Over the years, our flat-roofed home has had two different tar and gravel roofs, and one TPO membrane roof. The TPO membrane roof was installed 11 years ago, by another company, but even though we requested sloping at the time, a communication error resulted in it not being done. Consequently, excessive amounts of standing water on the roof over time have resulted in numerous leaks and TPO failings. The roof was coerced into limping along over the years, but continued failing at times, so after much research, we finally decided to replace it with a PVC membrane roof. We met with Wes from BAC, who is much more than a salesperson for the company. Wes knows roofing, he understands sloping, and he isn't afraid to answer every conceivable question on the topic when pressed (in fact, he rather enjoys it). Wes created a very detailed estimate for us, along with drawings of our roof that depicted the particular sloping requirements our home needed. He explained everything to us, and not just once, but sometimes multiple times, as we grasped to understand the finer points of roofing. Wes was honest about everything, even going so far as to say things like, "Some of these canales are in good shape, so there is no need to replace them if you don't want to". (We opted to anyway.) Wes was in constant communication with us about potential start dates, always returned our calls quickly, and when the job started, the crew showed up on time, ready to go. The crew was the epitome of professionalism, and the foreman was spectacular. The crew showed up on time, got right to work, didn't break for lunch a minute before they were supposed to, and stayed each day, working until a logical cut-off point presented itself. Each crew member wore a BAC shirt, they were respectful (yes sir, yes ma'am), and friendly. We were allowed to check on the progress of the roof anytime we wanted to do so, and nobody batted an eye when we did. Rather, the job was done so well that you could tell that the crew was proud of their work, and they were happy to show it off to others. The foreman, Isaac, explained the sloping logistics to us, and whenever there was a question about what was being done, he was right there to answer. It was apparent from the start that the crew gets along well and that they have great respect for their foreman. Because of the extensive amount of work involved, our project took about three days, with a little finish work on half of the fourth day. The crew was very careful about keeping things clean. On the last day of the job, they circled the house, picking up any little pieces of material that might be found, and they swept out the garage, seeing as it had been used as a staging area and holding area for some materials. A day later, Wes met with us again to review the warranty information, collect our final payment, answer any remaining questions we had, and asked us to complete a survey about the crew. Given that we have lived in this house for 20 of its 40 years, and have, as a result, dealt with many remodeling/construction crews over the years, we can confidently say that this was one of the best crews we have been fortunate enough to host, and their work was superb. We would highly recommend BAC Enterprises to anyone who wants quality roofing work done for them. Oh, and one final comment: When the county inspector came to give final approval of the project, he said, "This is the second best roof I have ever seen in my entire career...this company did a fantastic job". It wouldn't surprise me if BAC was responsible for the BEST roof this inspector has ever seen as well.
Description of Work: Our 40-year-old home had its 11-year-old failing TPO membrane roof torn off and replaced with a new PVC membrane roof. Even though our home is not large, this was an extensive job because a lot of decking had to be replaced, all existing canales were replaced, and an existing skylight was also replaced. Extensive sloping was added to the roof as well, to create efficient and effective water drainage.

BAC representative , Wes, responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He provided a drawing of my roof and what would be done and also a product review, covering warrantee, and followup actions if any were needed. His cost estimate remained constant and there were no hidden cost. When I decided to purchase a team of roofers quickly responded. The crew chief was, Keith, he was cordial and always answered any questions posed. He runs a tight ship, he and his team begin work at 0700 hrs and worked through the day. The entire crew were polite and very hard workers. They worked harmoniously together. The entire roofing took 3 full days. At the end I was presented with pictures of the project. We concluded our business and Wes went over my warrantees provided by BAC and those of the PVC manufacturer. Thank you BAC, a job very well done.

Wes promptly called me back and came out to my home without delay. Very nice and professional man. Painstakingly measured and diagrammed my roof and drew up an estimate on the spot. The problem was the cost! I don't know who could afford this type of roof. It is a very impressive system and perhaps the best around. Lifetime guarantee on the PVC membrane. Their website shows a 2500 sq. ft. home costing $11,000. My home is 1800 plus 2 1/2 car garage and three covered entries. Their process also covers parapets with the membrane material. The square footage added up to a cost of $26,908 with tax. Roughly double what I anticipated and about the cost of my first home.

Response from CAS Enterprises, Inc
BAC provides the highest quality estimate, product and installation. Our website clearly states a 2600 ft.² of roof area. Often this gets misconstrued by the customers. Many times the customer thinks that this is the square footage of the house. A 2600 square-foot house plus porches, garages and overhangs plus all the material to cover the walls can easily go over 4000ft.² of roof area. Our roof system is not the least expensive to buy, however, it is the least expensive to own! With a Lifetime material warranty, your annual cost of ownership is the best in the industry. This particular homeowner had a very detailed house and almost 2500 ft.² of walls to cover. Add this to his 2600 ft.² of house, and you get a price well above the customers self valued estimate. BAC only charges for the amount of material it takes to cover each job. We do a very detailed estimate to ensure the customer only pays what is necessary to cover the roof.

I had thought I done a review previously, but am unable to find it today. So, here goes a second try because this company did a wonderful job and they deserve the recognition for it. Wes came to our home a couple of months prior to the actual job getting started. He surveyed the project area, and sat in his pickup and wrote out an estimate on the spot. I asked about a modification from his original plan, which he was able to incorporate into the original work plan at no additional cost to us. When we scheduled the work, he apprised us there would be a delay due to existing work schedules, so the wait was no surprise to us. As the projected date approached, I contacted him for confirmation, and we arranged an actual start date. The crew arrived punctually on the agreed upon date and started work. They initially discovered some architectural issues, and set up a work around, which again was incorporated into the work plan at no additional cost to us. I also have to mention that a portion of our roof is Spanish tiles. The lower three or four courses had to be removed so the new roof edge could be under the tiles when they were replaced. We also ended up with some left over tiles to be used as replacements if any of the originals ever break. The entire project took about three days from start to finish, including a re-visit by a local code inspector. The work crew was efficient, communicative, friendly, professional in all ways. They cleaned up the work area as the project progressed better than most contractors have ever done (this job resulted in a number of small cuts of material which are pretty much impossible to clean up totally, but they were very conscientious about this facet of the job). After the work was done, and the bill was presented, it was exactly the same as the estimate, so we were very pleased. We have had time for the summer rains to put the roof to the test, and it is very comforting to see that it has held off the water exactly as promised. Yay! Another promise that came to pass was that over the summer our evaporative cooler was able to keep the house cooler with far less strain than any previous year. Wes had mentioned prior to the job that other customers had reported this occurrence for them. I was not really expecting to be so fortunate personally, so imagine my pleasant surprise at finding this roof allowed my in-house temperatures to run as much as 10 degrees below what had been possible in years past. This will likely save me a refrigerated air conditioner installation. I am double happy about that. All in all, we are very happy with our new roof, and with the experience we had with BAC Enterprises, Wes, and cres.

A great experience. Despite having to delay the project several times due to weather, it was a real pleasure working with Wes, Keith and the entire BAC crew. I would highly recommend them.

As a standard part of the job, all skylights were removed and weather stripping installed during the re-installation. We are very pleased with the PVC roof. With the additional installation, it is quiet during the heavy rain/hail storms. It is much cooler during the heat of the day due to the reduced solar gain to the extend that our air conditioner hardly operates at all. We observed -20 degree differentials between exterior and interior temperatures prior to the A/C re-installation. Prior to the new roof installation some rodents were able to gain access to the rafters and walls via the openings around the canales. With the new roof, the rodent intrusion has been eliminated. To date, we are very pleased with the performance of the new roof. The estimated price of the roof was not the lowest nor was it the highest. We believe that we received an excellent value for the cost and will continue to reap the rewards in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced a flat roof on our house and garage including several eyebrow areas and a bay window section with PVC roofing and metallic shingles. The job also included enclosing the canale structure, a standard feature, to eliminate water and rodent access. The job was completed to our satisfaction at the time estimated and for the contracted price. The crews were very professional, respectful of our property and did a through cleaning up and removing the trash generated during the job.

BAC is a very busy company, and I was aware there would be a delay. It took nearly 5 months after signing the contract for them to begin the work; fortunately, we didn't have a lot of rain or snow in my neighborhood during that time. BAC was not to move my solar panels themselves, as they are worth more than double the cost of the new roof and are only two years old. BAC agreed to this. BAC failed to communicate with me or my solar installer that they were ready to replace the second half of the roof by the second day. It is highly suspicious that the solar installers drove 40 minutes to position the panels on the completed portion of the roof, NOT reconnect them, and drive 40 minutes back into Albuquerque. That's quite a waste of time and resources. However, the panels were mysteriously *stacked on top of each other* and the roof was finished being installed by the time I arrived home from work on day 2. The panels remained stacked and not connected for over a week. BAC was dishonest about moving the panels, and I don't expect that sort of treatment when the service for which I am paying is so expensive. The product (the roof) is high quality, well installed, and carries a lifetime guarantee. The installation was very fast and efficient. However, the lack of respect for my wishes (that the panels only be moved by the solar installer), poor communication with myself and the solar company, and general dishonesty (apologize when the customer catches your installers doing something they shouldn't- don't blame the solar installers!) are more than a little disconcerting. The solar company did not move the panels prior to the second half of the roof being completed- BAC did, so that their schedule wouldn't be delayed. That's unprofessional. If you agree to not touch the solar panels, don't move them and lie about it. Would I use this provider in the future? I don't know. Purchase a lower quality product from a potentially more honest company versus an excellent product from a company more concerned with their schedule than taking care of my property... Tough choice. Had I been able to stay home the days they were working, the situation couldn't have occurred.

Response from CAS Enterprises, Inc
The only dishonesty and unprofessionalism is in the comments from the homeowner! The proposal was given to the customer on 12/10/13. The customer returned the signed/accepted proposal on 2/5/14. The final payment was collected from the customer on 4/21/14. In the matter of the solor panels, at NO time did a BAC Enterprises employee move the solor panels. The solor company was the ONLY people to touch the panel as per the homeowner request. The homeowner owes BAC and Angies List an accurate review and score based on the facts and not their assumptions or misinformation. BAC Enterprises request this evaluation be removed due to its completely false statements.

Wow!!! I have to say that I am extremely impressed with their dedication to customer service and satisfaction. When I needed a new roof and couldn't decide between conventional and a BAC roof, I did my research. After deciding we would likely be staying in our home long-term, BAC seemed like a no-brainer. I called BAC, and Bill did his best to honor the pricing I had been given the year prior. We were put on the schedule for March, which was about 3 months from the time of the quote. The workers were on-time and professional. I felt confident in their trustworthiness and left my house open all day for them to go in and out while I was at work. The job was completed in about 3 days and there was no mess. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with all elements of their work. I would absolutely recommend their services and would use them again.
