We bought the chimney sweep deal offered through Angie's List and once again it proved to be a great deal! Inspector showed up as scheduled. The unit checked out and we were able to enjoy a "toasty" Christmas celebration.

When we purchased our home, we were told that a fireplace repair was required. The repair was paid by the seller and we were told to only use the fireplace 20 minutes at a time so the concrete repair could cure. We did this for a year. The concrete was cracked and we were afraid to use the fireplace again and called Amrak. Chris asked for pictures and tried to tell us everything was OK on the phone to save us money. But we wanted to be sure and set up an appointment. He is very busy and so we scheduled for three weeks away. When he came he inspected the fireplace and explained that we have a pre-fab fireplace that should not have been cemented and that there was not any problem using it. After two years we can now use our fireplace without any problems and be assured it is fine. He performed an inspection and said we probably would not need another for 3 years. He also told us the best firewood to use and pointers on keeping the fireplace clean. Chris is very honest and knowledgable.

Laid down drop cloths and sealed all joints to keep areas clean. Performed work. He was timely with service, helped me understand how wood stove worked, new to house, and scheduled me for future maintenance. Very professional.

Chris was very professional and made sure to protect my house prior to cleaning the chimney. Once he was finished he cleaned up all around the fireplace. He was very personable and was honest about how often I should clean my chimney.

They were just professional. They showed up at the time they said they would, did the job and advised me on how to use some of my equipment. I was happy. They were a little high priced.

I can't speak more highly of Chris and his services!! He came EARLY and called to see if I was home. Wow, that is the first time a serviceman has done that. Chris is kind, funny and HONEST! He inspected our chimneys and first looked inside each one and then went to the roof. He could have easily lied and said that both chimneys needed to be cleaned but he said that both were clean and in great condition. He also showed me how to start a fire and did it in both fireplaces. Because he only inspected and didn't clean them, he was going to charge $68. But because I was so happy with the level of service, I just paid the $90. I really respect honest and hard working people. You cannot go wrong with hiring Chris! He comes to Santa Fe I believe once/week but works all over the state.

Excellent service. Chris was a very nice guy and thorough in his inspection and cleaning. He took the time to answer all questions and provide recommendations for wood-types and maintenance.

I checked Angie's List for Chimney Sweeps and notice that Amrak had very good ratings. He is from Albuquerque and my chimneys are in Santa Fe. I emailed him and asked if he came to Santa Fe and, if so, what his charges would be. He comes to Santa Fe once a week and, since I was out of town, I got an appointment about 3 weeks in advance. I emailed him the week that he was supposed to come, and yes, he had it on his schedule. The morning of the appointment, he showed up and started his work. He checked 3 chimneys. One did not need cleaning, he said, although he checked all three of them. He cleaned the other 2. It was easy, clean and painless. He then charged not only less because he did not need to clean the one chimney, but also gave me an additional discount. I was pleased! I asked if the fireplaces had been dirty enough to cause a fire. He said the only time he had seen fireplaces dirty enough to cause a fire was when they had caused a fire. I now can use my fireplaces without fear that the house will burn down.

Chris showed up on time, and cleaned the chimneys quickly. He cleaned up nicely and was on his way.

Everything went well. He was very fast and efficient. We do not burn much so Chris said we could wait 5-7 years before having it cleaned again. Got the Angie's List discount too.

Everything went great. Arrived on time, did the work quickly and efficiently and there was no mess at all. Also, I was put on the rotation for a reminder notice for the next cleaning based on the frequency of use and type of wood I burn in my fireplace. I would definitely use this company again. Highly recommend.

Chris called, before the appointment time, to let me know he would be a little late and to make certain that was ok (wish all service providers did that!). He really was only a few minutes late. Showed up and got right to work. Set things up to catch any stray soot and vacuumed afterward. Very personable! Answered all my questions. Look forward to seeing him when it's time for the next sweep!

He is excellent. He does a wide range of services. He leveled a concrete floor for me. The work is timely, he cleans up afterwards very fastidious and professional.

My renter says Chris was: Fast, professional, friendly and super tidy. The only negative is he didn't have a bag to put the ash that was in the fireplace from previous tenants. I would give him a above avg rating.

Chris was responsive in calling me back to set up an appointment. That appointment ended up being rescheduled due to other jobs that day taking longer than expected. I had no issue with that and rescheduled a week later. Chris was actually early for the second appointment and was done within an hour. He taped all the seams on my woodstove's pipe so the soot didn't spray all over the place when he brushed it. Then he cleaned so well that I didn't have to vacuum up after him. This is how it should be but rarely ever is, so it was most appreciated. He then re-caulked the flashing on my roof. I plan to use Amrak again next year (I burn a cord of wood each season).

The technician came in to do the sweep and he said that it had already been done and didn't need done again. But he did install a chimney cap for me. He did a very quick and thorough job and the price was good.

Called Chris last Thursday- super nice on the phone. Scheduled me for his first available after 4p- that was the following Monday. Chris arrived a little early and got set up before I got home from work. When I arrived, he was ready to go. Super nice guy, down to Earth, just making a living doing what he likes. He got to work right away and was very good about putting sheets down and moving anything that might get dirty. Cleaned up everything very well. Gave me a few pointers on the fireplace. Told me to get a chimney cap and how to install it. Asked how often the fireplace was used and put me down for a cleaning every 3 years. Service was excellent- will definitely use him in the future.

Chris was on time, very pleasant, worked efficiently, cleaned up, did exactly what I needed very competently. I'd definitely call him again for any chimney issues.

It was fine. They came and did a good job. We haven't had any problems. They cleaned up well.

I had a local handyman at my house doing other things, who let him in. The handyman is my source of information for this review as I was not at home. He said that Chris came and did a good job on both chimneys. One of them was not what he expected to find but he handled it just fine.
