The whole experience from estimate through installation went very well. The estimate was fair and came in very close to another company's, so the folks at ACS worked with me to balance out the minor differences. The installers were knowledgable and efficient. The only hitch was a delay in the fabrication of the pedestal for my furnace which extended the install an extra day. That was not an inconvience for me at all. I would recommend this company to everyone. Good people, good value, good products, good workmanship.

I had previously been told I needed to replace my entire heating and air conditioning system because it was leaking coolant and wouldn't last into June. Then I was told by a different representative that I wasn't leaking coolant but my a/c fan was blowing backwards and I had cracks in my heat exchanger which is very dangerous. I had to pay both of these companies The representative from Air Conditioning Systems showed up on time and was very professional. When I told him about how both companies who inspected my unit gave me a different diagnosis, he inspected the unit and fixed the backwards blowing fan FREE OF CHARGE. He also verified the diagnosis of a cracked heat exchanger. He was also the only one who said the heat exhanger can be fixed for around $1,000.00 instead of the $6,500.00 minimum price for a whole system. He thought the a/c would be fine for several more years I had asked for estimates for both the heat exchanger and unit replacement but only received the faxed estimate for the heat exchanger. However, I was so impressed with the professionalism and service of this company, I plan to nag them for the unit replacement estimate as I want them to do the job.

John was very professional and explained everything he was doing, from checking all connections and cleaning of the outside parts of the systems.

Scott came out to the house to check my furnace. He also tested for CO just for safety's sake. I requested that he also check my water heater. He pointed out some problems and said he would give me an estimate which he did when he said he would. I ordered the work and the crew were there when they said they would be. They laid down tarps to protect my floors. They cleaned up after themselves with their shop-vac and carted off the old water heater. Everyone was courteous and friendly and very professional. Rachel in the office is very friendly and courteous.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression - way to go Rachel on our initial telephone contact with you. Scott and his crew (Luis, John and Chris) were knowledgeable, professional and courteous through the entire process: bid, removal of existing furnace, install of new furnace and air conditioning. We needed to have our electric service upgraded from 60 amp to 200 amp and liked the fact that ACS included the electrician's part of the job in our bid and that they made the arrangements with Dwight (the electrician) and his crew.

our AC system went out, we had purchaed it from another co. that was doing the maintenance on it, but actually didnt do maintenance on it so it was useless after a very short time. We called ac systems, had them install their system and it is really wonderful, not only works well, but our elec bill is down quite a bit also This is part of the update.. We talked with scheduling and one of the techs to try to get them to come to the house in the afternoon when it was very hot and the AC was not cooling properly so they could monitor the system. They came out 2 times, recharged the coolant and repaired the blower, but the AC System is still not working properly on very warm afternoons, like over 95 degrees. I am afraid that they have sold us a system that is not adequate for our house and we will continue to have problems with this system. I am going to have to downgrade my review of them since they never could find the time to come back to check the system in the hot afternoons, I will probably have someone come and look at the system they installed and check to see if it truly is the adequate system for our house. I am afraid that they have installed a inadequate system for our house and we will continue to have problems that they will not cover under our warranty.

From start to finish, every person at Air Conditioning Systems was knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The workmanship of the physical installation was excellent. Everything went as planned and on schedule. Great people to work with! Very pleased.

. It was a great service call and my problem was fixed within 1.5 hours. The technician was very courteous and professional. He was able to get it working again quickly. Great service!

We decided to install an air conditioning system after the smoke from last years fires limited the use of our evaporative system. We received several estimates from other installers that were also taken from Angie's list. The estimator from Air Conditioning systems arrived on time and carefully explained our options. His provided an estimate via email (my preference) several days later, and it came in about the same or slightly lower than the other estimates. It was significantly lower than the estimate give by the company currently servicing my evaporative system. What was very nice is that he didn't try to push more expensive options that I didn't want or try to include additional function I didn't need. I called back several days later to accept the estimate and set up an installation date. The installers arrived on time and completed the job by mid afternoon. The only problem was a minor installation problem with one of the vent pipes that the city inspector rejected. When I called to have it corrected, they sent out the installer and made the adjustement which took about 10 minutes. They set up follow-up city mechanical and electrical inspections with the city which then passed without further concern. So far the new furnace has worked great. I will have to wait until it warms up to test the air conditioning and determine if performs adequately. However, so far the experience of working with Air Conditioning Systems has been great.

My air conditioning unit stopped working. Another company came out and determined the condensing unit needed to be replaced. I called around to a couple other companies, including Air Conditioning Systems Inc, for estimates. This company (Air Conditioning Systems, Inc) provided an estimate that was about $400 lower than the other companies for the same work. This was consistent with other AngiesList customer reviews, so I scheduled for them to come out and replace the unit. They were able to schedule the replacement promptly (same week). They confirmed the problem and replaced the unit. Happy with the work. No problems.

Called to request an estimate. Was told all estimators were in a meeting and someone would call me and set a up a time for the estimate. Never heard from them again.

I called several companies with high ratings on Angie's List with a view to getting a few different estimates. One company gave an estimate which was $800 higher. Another was unable to get anyone out to give us an estimate for a week, and warned us that they would be working several weeks out from that time as it was the height of the cooling season. Scott Singletary came out 2 days after my initial call to Air Conditioning Systems Inc. He was very pleasant and professional. He patiently answered all of our many questions. He gave us an estimate which was actually less than we were expecting. Unlike others, he did not try to sell us a more expensive system than we actually needed. We agreed to go ahead with the installation and our cooler was installed just 2 days later. The installers arrived promptly, installed and tested the cooler, cleaned everything up and removed the old cooler. The cooler is running well and we really enjoy having the thermostat. This was a very good experience for us and I have no hesitation giving this company a good rating. The only negative comment I have is that we have not received the winter cover as promised. I plan to call and speak with them about it shortly. Since this is August a winter cover has not been a high priority for me! I called about the winter cover and it was delivered to me the same day.

I called this company after a holiday weekend because our AC stopped working. They were good enough to send someone out in their words "priority." They called and said he was on his way from a location about 8 minutes from my house.The guy they sent, Vince, discovered the unit just needed cleaning and informed me that it would take 1/2 hour, and at $88/hour it would cost $170 including his 1/2 hour drive time. This was not explained to me by the intake person (Renee?). Not to mention that 1/2 hour drive time and 1/2 hour work time does not add up to two hours. When I protested, Vince said "I gotta get paid." I asked that he wait until I spoke to the office. Unfortunately, there was miscommunication and Renee did not understand he was charging me for two hours. When I went back outside, Vince had driven away, leaving our A/C unit disassembled and taking our screws with him. It is currently in that state in the hot sun. I tried to call the office back to discuss the cost issue and the current condition of our AC and they refused to speak to me. I have had trouble with contractors before but have NEVER seen something like this before.

I chose them because they were on your A list. They were good and I had no problems. I will hire them again in the future.

They installed the product that I chose. The person who came out to give the estimate had people look at several things. He gave me the most customer oriented information. They were timely and followed up well. I was impressed with their work.

The overall job was outstanding. They gave me a quote and it ended up being less then the quote which is very unusual, but it was great. They were excellent.

I got bids from several companies listed on Angie's List. What impressed me about Air Conditioning Systems, Inc., was that the person they sent to bid the job, Scott, did not try to "sell" me. I was ready to replace a wall AC unit in my bedroom, but he gave me a simple fix that save me hundreds of dollars. Everyone else I talked to suggested I replace the unit with something they sold. He even noticed that my central AC unit was freezing up and offered to replace the air filter gratis which immediately cured the problem. In all I met with representatives of 6 companies, 5 of which had high marks on Angie's List, and he was the only one to suggest solutions other than replacing my equipment. I was very happy with the installation as well. It went smoothly and the 2 men who did the work were friendly and professional.

We shopped this job to three or four vendors. Air Conditioning Systems came in with the best quote, price-wise. Used Rheem equipment, which seems to be middle-tier quality and adequate for our needs. Salesman/estimator came and surveyed the house. Very nice, friendly guy which impressed us. The quote came in at close to the lowest we received so we authorized the job. There was some confusion in getting the vendor to be very clear about specifying the correct combination of equipment that would qualify for an $800 cash rebate from Rheem, but they were very professional about straightening things out and supplying a written guarantee that the job qualified for the rebate. We were promised their very best crew for the installation, but instead got the "B" team, which didn't make us too happy. I'm a former craftsman (woodworker/luthier) and I could tell that the installers were NOT doing a top-notch job. The lead installer also sold us on a couple of minor upgrades in order to improve the air flow and the filter situation. When the job was done, it was pretty noisy, so I called ACS and spoke with the owner, Carl Rechtenbach. He came out with his best technician a couple of days later and worked on the system for an or or two and improved the noise level. He also saw the "upgrades" and said that they weren't really necessary or optimal and he removed the charges for those. In short, he stood behind his work and was cheerful about it to boot. Last thing was that the job failed city inspection on the first try due to a couple of minor points. Another call to ACS brought out Sean, the lead tech again and he spent another 2-3 hours tidying things up and fixing any and everything he found that wasn't up to his standards. So overall, I wish it had gone a bit smoother, but I'll trade that for a company that will stand behind its work and correct any errors. System passed subsequent inspection, qualified for the rebate and works well. I'd definitely use and recommend this company again.

I called Air Conditioning Services (ACS) on Monday morning to report our condenser was not putting out cold air. They scheduled a tech for Tuesday afternoon, who showed up promptly at 1:30 (and who called to let us know he was on his way). Luis did a great job listening to us describe the problem (which seemed to be similar to a problem we had last year that ACS was able to solve - see my August 2009 Angies report). After 1.5 hours, Luis indicated that he needed to go find a new fan motor and blade. Since our A/C unit is old, he was not sure whether they would be able to find the right parts. On Wednesday morning, I spoke to Ronee in the ACS office to find out the status of the parts; she said she was awaiting word from their parts house and would let me know. By 1:10 Wednesday afternoon she called to say they had found the right parts and that Luis would be back to our home within the hour. Sure enough, at 2:05 Luis showed up and was able to complete the repair within another 3 hours. We were thrilled that we did not need to purchase a new A/C unit (nor at any time did anyone at ACS try to tell us we that needed to. Other A/C repair places seem all too anxious to try to sell a new [expensive] unit to us). Luis was polite, professional and responsive all throughout this situation. We would not only use ACS again, we would ask for Luis by name!

We are going to go with their bid and they will be coming out next Thursday. It is for work for my son who is handicapped and has some problems talking because he had a stroke. He is blind and they were able to communicate with him. They were very polite and courteous. They came out when they were supposed to. They also arranged for an electrician to come and do the work needed and then they will come to do their work the same day. They were very efficient.

I spent $1200 on that work. They were very good, nice to deal with on the phone and were prompt and professional. I was really happy with them and thought that the price was right on. I used them again to shut down the cooler and switch it on again.

Very straightforward process. The completion of the estimate was timely and included two options for different coolers. Work was scheduled quickly and completed in a timely manner. There was a slight breakdown in communication of the start time, between the dispatcher and the service crew, but it had little impact on the service. Overall a very professional company.

After having an unpleasant experience with a quote from Sears, it was nice to have a straightforward quote from a professional from this company. The quote was 1/5 of what the Sears employee was quoting us. We received a formal proposal after the quote and received the service on the date promised. Every employee of the company was professional and very pleasant. They installed the refrigerated air unit on the roof at no additional charge after it was determined they couldn't install it near the house, on the ground. It would have normally cost an extra 2000 but they stayed true to their original quote. They also went above and beyond and, when they were on the roof, they noticed our dryer vent was clogged and unclogged it for us. They even fixed the vent so that it wouldn't clog again! I know two of my immediate neighbors also use their service and I'd gladly recommend them to anyone.

The recptionist was polite and helpful. I first recommended this company to a friend who does not have Angie's List. Her service on 11/17 was excellent. She raved about Scott, the man who came do repair her furnace. When my furnace was blowing cold air, I called the company, mentioned my friend's total satisfaction and expressed concern. Though the were busy, they got someone out that afternoon, noting that the weekend was upon us. The same man came as had come to my friend's house. He seemed certain that he had diagnosed a problem, which seemed to be the case. He noted that we had a 30 day warranty, and to call if all was not well. That evening the furnace was again not working. We made it through the weekend, and I called Monday morning. Scott returned, checked out the problem further, cleaned out the holes for the pilot light, charged us nothing extra, and hoped we would have the problem fixed. He left after giving me a great ham recipe (no charge) and all is well. I will recommend this company without any reservation, and can't wait to try the ham recipe this Christmas.

We got off to a slightly rocky start with regards to punctuality. I called the Air Conditioning Systems, Inc. at 8:20 am; they said they would have someone here by 9:30 - which I found amazing! Then the tech called at 10:00 and said he would be here by noon. No sign of a tech by noon. At 1:40 he called and arrived at 2:10. While this was not the punctuality we were expecting (and sitting around the house in the heat waiting for), still, the company DID respond in the same day, which we greatly appreciated. The tech (Warren) listened closely to our description of the problem and what had been attempted thus far by the previous A/C company who had been out on 3 occasions during the past 2 weeks. The previous company had NOT diagnosed the correct solution; they said we needed a whole new heating/A/C unit, which, of course, would have cost us big bucks! Within 10-15 minutes, Warren looked at the unit, identified the problem, corrected it, and was gone in less than a half hour. Bravo to Air Conditioning Systems, Inc.
