K-Ram had recommended Advanced Skylight Systems as good skylight builder/installer for us as well. Our existing skylights were letting in too much "heat" during the summer days and having a 48" skylight in the middle of our kitchen made it very uncomfortable to enjoy entertaining in our over-sized kitchen area. The skylight expert was Eric Chavez of Advanced Skylight Systems. He is of the same character and quality as K-Ram Roofing ~ honest, thorough and detailed in his explanation of the job and the steps involved as well as keeping us posted and up to date on the following days' schedule of work. He coordinated his work expertly with K-Ram and did a beautiful job. His triple wall skylights were of the latest technology shielding 70% of the infrared (heat). He replaced five 24" skylights and two 48" skylights. They have an advance integrated coating on the top layer which shields infrared and keeps the heat from entering the room below. What a huge comfortable difference these new skylights have made so far. Last summer (June) I measured the temperature with an infrared temp gun at 145 deg F, so far these haven't registered over 75 deg F. We will have him do all of our future additions to our home.

I had one cracked sky light that I needed to replace. Eric Chavez from Advanced Skylight Systems came out and did an estimate. He was extremely professional. He also helped me identify two smaller issues with two other skylights. One was barely attached to the curb (lots of heat leakage in winter) and another had condensation build up resulting in paint peeling off. He was extremely courteous- he explained every issue and how he would rectify it. It was very easy to schedule an appointment for him to do the work, he arrived on time and did more work than he estimated to do the job right (and refused to be paid more for the extra work). I highly recommend Eric and will use him again if I am in need of more work on my skylights.

I thought my roof was leaking, but the roofer I called said the skylights were cracked. He suggested I call Advanced Skylights for replacements. I called and Eric came out the same day to check the skylights. He pointed out the many cracks in each of them and said he would order custom new ones. Two days later he returned to replace the old skylights. He quickly removed the old skylights and placed the new ones. He repaired the caulking and weatherproofing around both skylights. I have not had any leaks since. Very professional and he came at exactly the time he stated.

Quick, clean, professional. One skylight was broken night of 12/1/11 by storm. Called first thing 12/2, Eric came out within a couple hours. Provided estimate, said they could come same day if I let him know right away I wanted him to replace them. Only needed to replace one skylight due to break, but second skylight was old and yellowed - also old style made of one layer of glass. He offered discount if I replaced them both. Elected to get additional quotes. Next best quote was over twice his estimate. One week later, I called him back and asked him to replace the skylights. He was able to accommodate my schedule and came out the next day. He arrived on time, went right to work. Answered all my questions, completed work in about 1-1/2 hours.

Eric was very professional from start to finish. He gave a fair quote and came in at exact what he quoted. He even followed up after the replacement to see if we had any leaks. I was all contractors were as polite, honest, and professional.
