I wanted a workshop in my basement and the first task was to remove the existing columns to gain floor space and flexibility. George arrived promptly for an initial inspection. I was concerned about retaining the structural integrity of the house when removing the columns and replacing them with steel beams. George, a licensed PE structural engineer, provided me that reassurance and gave me a written proposal on the spot! No waiting and chasing like other contractors. His guys arrived on time and were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The office staff is competent and always responsive. The job was a bit complicated and took two full days; I thought it was a little expensive but worth it. I am very pleased with the result. Highly recommended.

I felt informed every step of the way and he helped develop a plan for repairing the wall. He and Elizabeth also went above and beyond the call of duty to work with me and my attorney when the seller balked at the report. Remarkable!!

I'd like to start by thanking Elizabeth and George. I was finishing my basement and discovered a huge issue with the design originally submitted by my contractor. He was replacing my existing beam with another beam which would have been five inches lower than previous. My basement has a low ceiling as it is and putting that beam in meant a 5' 7" person would just miss hitting their head in my basement. That was not happening. I needed a second opinion QUICKLY as would was scheduled to begin within 2 weeks. George came in and presented 3 options of varying price. "Sandwiching" the existing beam with what looks like an "I" beam split in half was my choice. I lose no headroom and it was the cheapest option. Permits were submitted and then my town dragged its feet, George and Elizabeth were in contact with them and delivered the plans to the town by hand to speed it up. The day the work started once permits cleared went so fast the water I put on ice for the workers didn't get cold. Seriously fast. Cleaned up and done in under 3 hours. Wow. My basement is now finished and no lally columns ruining it and I don't hit my head when crossing the middle. Thank you again. Sometimes it really pays off getting a specialist as opposed to a general contractor.

I used the StructuralMD part of the business to do a Structural analysis of the house. I scheduled through Elizabeth who was easy to work with and went out of her way to find a time in our short schedule. Once scheduled, I George and Larry came to check out the house. They were extremely thorough - I feel like every inch was looked at closely. The house was built in 1862 and had been moved a couple of times, but the age didn't seem to pose any difficulty. It gave me piece of mind to have professionals that were able to easily map out a solution to fix structural defects. George described everything very thoroughly to me - things that were wrong (very old beam bowing in the middle due to having too long a span), remediation options, timespan to repair something like this. If I had to have another analysis done, I'd choose George without a doubt. Even my agent asked "where'd you find this guy? He's fantastic."

George?s price is quite reasonable. On the day of work, a crew of three people showed up on time. There were a few things that can be improved. For example, 1. The existing ceiling sheetrock was deliberately cut by a knife. This is completely not necessary because the sheet-rock is not in the way. This caused permanent damage. 2. Several small screws that they took off from the ceiling were misplaced and lost. In the end, they searched for them and put in HUGE screws as replacement. Organizing and safekeeping the screws is a basic skill. I would suggest more training. 3. Not all existing floor joists were jacked up before attaching to a new sister. After I pointed this out, they un-screwed and un-nailed the new 2 by 10 wood. Tearing things apart and then putting them together caused integrity damage to the newly added sister wood and the block wood. There are cracks in the wood already! Besides, UGLY to look at. Out of the crew of three, Rigo?s English is not as good as a native speaker. However, he did most of the hard work. He is particularly knowledgeable and trustworthy.

This company was 100% professional from start to finish. Elizabeth was very helpful in setting up the inspection of the home's foundation. George is very knowledgeable, came by just a few days after contacting them and had an inspection report with a repair estimate sent to me within 2 days. I am in the planning and budgeting phase of a home remodeling project that includes complete kitchen renovation. I called LallyGone for an assessment of the house structure to establish my options for wall removal. LallyGone promptly responded to my initial contact and an appointment was quickly scheduled. George arrived on time and prepared. He is a friendly, knowledgeable engineer who took the time to investigate all of my concerns. He made recommendations regarding the remodel and evaluated the overall structure of the house. He was thorough and straightforward. As a result of his inspection, I was reassured that a bearing wall could be removed and gave me a fair price for the installation of the new beam. The inspection was yesterday, so I haven't received my report, yet, but I am very pleased with the service that George provided. George & Larry came in very well prepared and were very thorough in their evaluation. They took time to explain everything about the work I was requesting along with the benefits and consequences of having this work done. Ultimately, I chose not to have the work done at this time, but when I do, I will be using these guys. I strongly recommend them for their knowledge and professionalism.

We are very pleased with the work Lallygone did to remediate old termite damage to the rim box by the porch and to repair a structural deficiency in one of the garage walls. Both jobs were done on time and efficiently and cleanly. George, the structural engineer, and Jerry and his workmen were informative and polite. Additionally, they were prompt each day, and the work was done as it was explained it would be. Importantly, they finished in the time frame needed by us.

George came out and was very professional, obviously knew what he was talking about, and provided an accurate and reasonable design. It was nice he specialized in exactly what I needed. The price was right on as well, in line with/better than the other 4 quotes I received. The work was scheduled within a few weeks. The day of the job, Chris showed up with the crew on time and was very professional. He took time to speak with me, answer my questions, and showed concern for any additional damage to the house that can occur while jacking the house back up. Thank goodness we didn't have anything significant. At the end of the day, the clean up left the room cleaner than when they arrived. Dealings with the office staff (Elizabeth) were just as pleasant. The only thing I have to complain about is they don't do finishing work (drywall). Can't really complain about that though because it's just not what they do. They specialize in one thing and do it well. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. I hope to not have another sagging beam, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

George came by to give us a quote on our cracked structural beams and he was excellent - very personable and more importantly, thorough, he explained everything, was honest about what did and didn't need to be fixed right away. We were impressed and the quote was fair, so we scheduled our repair. The guys were efficient and did a great job. We would use LallyGone again in a heartbeat.

The inspection was done quickly and professionally. They provided us with clear information to address our concerns with the foundation (the floor on the house was tilted and warped, but it was due to it being a rebuild). They provided us with a letter for future sales and even warned us of potential moisture issues which did, in fact, turn out to be something we had to deal with.

Larry Stoll, the inspector from LallyGone who arrived, was extremely knowledgeable, and also very polite and friendly. He answered our many questions. He explained why one seeming problem was indeed not a problem at all. He confirmed that the other two problems did indeed need remediation. He explained in detail the nature of those problems, how the repairs should be done, and gave us an estimate of the cost of fixing those two problems. We are very pleased with the service provided by Lallygone. We think they provided us with exactly the kind of home inspection that we needed.

I called Lallygone LLC and they were very helpful over the phone and went out of their way to accomodate my inspection within 2 days. George showed up on time and he was able to explain in details how the house is supported and what was happening with the floor and the rest of the structure. He was very professional and he looked everywhere to make sure we understood the cause and how to fix this problem. I do recommend him and hope to hire his company to do the repairs.

An engineer came and checked the house, looked at potential concerns we had and explained what had caused them and whether we had cause to worry. He found some issues in the basement he was not 100% of, so he sent a basement expert to our house about a week later to evaluate it (included in the cost of the service). Both of them were very nice and answered all our questions honestly and were able to allay many of the fears we had about the house. While some issues were discovered, it was nothing that had to be taken care of unless we wanted to. As first time homeowners it was reassuring to hear explanations of the various things we found.

He saved me a lot of time and money. The first buyers we had were ridiculous in their demands, so we decided to move on. We sold our house the same day, thanks to George. He did a total structural analysis and provided the new buyers with the report.

George came to do the original inspection and provided the price. He was very thorough and spent a good deal of time in the crawl space inspecting what the problem was. I received an estimate from another contractor who gave a ridiculously high price. Their interpretation of what the problem was and what needed to be done was much different. After speaking with George it was obvious that the other company was ill-prepared to handle this job hence the high price. George provided the details and scheduled me very quickly. Chris and his crew spent about 8 hours over two days. The crew was very professional and didn't mind my additional questions. When I asked to see the completed work, Chris gladly crawled under with me and detailed the work that was done. My floors have never been so straight and solid. Thank you Lallygone for understanding that your clients have no previous experience in this type of repair. I was comfortable from the very beginning that I had made the right choice with choosing Lallygone. Well done!!

George takes his business very seriously. Unfortunately, coordinating the timing of the appointment with them didn't work out smoothly in our case. After needing to reschedule twice, George sent another engineer, who arrived late. The engineer who came was good. He was very knowledgable and did a thorough job, concluding (and explaining) that we didn't need structural reinforcements in certain places. I was happy with the service that he provided. George followed up, but there was some confusion about the job. We experienced some disorganization on their part, which George insisted was uncharacteristic for them. I'm inclined to believe him, and would consider bringing them in for an estimate, if we had other work that needed to be done.

On the initial appointment George assured me that my home was structurally sound which was a huge relief. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained everything. The quote was so reasonable and I had read all of the great reviews on Angie's List so I scheduled immediately. Scheduling was easy and the office staff is very nice and answered all of my questions. Then his AMAZING crew arrived. They explained what they were doing, made suggestions and did an excellent job. I could have an elephant walk in my living room now. He will be back soon to remove a load bearing wall for me. I will recommend LallyGone to everyone I know.

I am so happy I found this company. I have been looking for a structural engineer to review findings after a house inspection. Lallygone was very responsive and I like that you can schedule an appointment on line. They call you the next day to confirm. I received the report when promised.

These guys are incredible. George is very knowledgable and knew exactly what options I had. They were very prompt and finished in 4 1/2 hours.
