Air Group

I was very impressed with this company. Our old furnace needed to be replaced. I called on the coldest day of the year at about 9 AM on a Wednesday. A representative, Gary, came by that same day by around noon. We signed the papers and the next afternoon everything was installed and working great! The company had a great zero interest finance deal with Carrier. We got a variable speed furnace. It is much quieter and more efficient. The installers were neat and respectful. They all wore the little booty covers on their shoes so they would make the floors dirty. Nice touch. Overall, they did a great job. I had a great experience with this company and would use them again and would recommend them highly.

They are great. They are very thorough and reasonably priced. I would recommend them. They were very timely for services.

Extraordinary service! Angelo Cristofolo was our technical sales representative. He gave us recommendations on how to solve the problem we were having with our basement (and was able to help us find a mold remediation service as well). He helped coordinate the timing of the work with the remediation service (making life easier for us) and handled all the scheduling and filing of permits and inspections. The staff was prompt, courteous, friendly and cleaned up; they were very respectful of our home and property. We are so pleased with the quality of work and service that we have signed up for annual maintenance. They are not the cheapest provider, but the quality and dependability are well worth it. We don't regret a single penny spent. We would HIGHLY recommend Air Group LLC!!

It's now been 3 months and the system is working great. My house looked really complicated and I significantly doubted that they could finish in two days but the did! There was coincidentally a major rain storm the next day andmy basement got really flooded. I've determined that it wasn't them as it hasn't happened afterwards and I re diverted some gutter runoffs. Joe cyckowski is the sales guy,dave wilkens is the energy audit Guyana the two guys that did all the work -- I forget their names but they were awesome.

Installed a new HVAC system. They were neat, clean and professional. I was very pleased overall.

On a cold fall day, my furnace stopped working. I called Air Group and was told that they could have someone there within two hours. True to their word, the technician arrived promptly and was able to quickly diagnose the problem (faulty spark unit) and repair it using parts from the truck. I am VERY impressed with both the speed and efficiency of the service. I believe the price of the parts were significantly inflated (compared to prices I found on the Internet), but I am glad that they carried the parts on the truck and I didn't have to wait to have my heat functioning again!

They do our annual heating and air-conditioning checks as part of our annual maintenance plan. My only complaint-- but it's a major one--is how overpriced they are. Otherwise, they've been great: on-time, good service, good workmanship.

I contacted Air Group based on a referral from the NJ Clean Energy website to obtain a home energy audit and a quote for insulation, air sealing and a new gas boiler. At every step I had to follow up on every call or email as communications were never responded to within a couple of days. In terms of being prompt, I don't expect people to drop what they are doing for my calls, but I also don't expect to have to wait two or three days for my call to be returned. When I initially spoke to the representative I was told that it was $200 for the tech to visit for a blower door test and that this would be refunded if I gave them the business. While this seemed expensive I understood the position and said that would be fine. I was visited the following week for a walk through where the rep collected copies of my utility bills and looked at the property but didn't take any measurement and did not conduct the blower door test. I was told that a separate tech would do this. The following week I supplied additional utility information they had requested and asked when the tech would be out for the blower test. I was told that it would take a further two weeks to get the tech scheduled but that they would not send the tech out without me securing the EFS financing pre-approval that is part of the home energy program. This financing cannot be secured without an estimate of the work to be performed. It was at this point that I became very uncomfortable that the Air Group representative was expecting me to secure financing for a job that I had not seen even a cursory estimate on. He explained that this was how Air Group had decided to proceed with all of these jobs which I find highly unusual. I've since elected not to use Air Group for any future services and would not recommend them to anyone based on this unusual and questionable practice of not providing detailed and accurate estimate PRIOR to customers commitment.

Great, received a quote and fast appointment, arrived on time, knowledgable and courtious, cleaned up and the cost was exactly what was quoted.

We have used Air Group in the past with our previous home for a new furnace and air conditioner, were very happy with their services, so we called them for an estimate on a standby generator. We had received 2 other estimates, which truthfully were a little lower. We decided to go with Air Group because of their reliability, as well as extremely prompt repair services. Giancarlo, who gave us the estimate, organized the installation in a professional manor. The permits were obtained by Air Group, and they submitted the required documentation to PSE&G to se if our gas meter needed to be upgraded. The installation went very well, and as expected, without any complications. The installers were very professional and courteous. I would recommend Air Group without hesitation, for true peace of mind!

Work was thorough, no corners cut. Repairman courteous and knowledgeable. Results good.

The work ethic and the quality were top notch. They were great, they showed up, they worked all day and they were like busy little beavers all over my house. I had 10 people here the first day, there was a lot of action going on. We have a minor problem going on right now which is something that disconnected upstairs in the attic and we are trying to solve that. But they were very fast and very responsive in trying to get back to figure out and fix it.

Of course my A/C went out during the hottest 2 weeks of the summer. I contacted 6 companies and narrowed it down to 2. Of all the estimates I received, Air Group was close to the lowest, but they also had a great reputation. The sales rep Jaime was low pressure, listened to my needs and made the suggestions. They arrived exactly on time as promised, the install was done in about 9 hours. They did a good job with cleanup and explained the systems operations in full. I highly recommend....

I called to set up a diagnostic appointment. First time service. The woman I spoke to told me that there was a $129.00 diagnostic fee for the appointment. I reluctantly agreed to this fee, as a lot of plumbers charge a similar fee. An appointment was scheduled at a good time for me, but as I was finishing the call, the woman said that they needed my credit card information to "hold" the appointment. I said I was unwilling to give this information to her. She quickly said thank you, and didn't say anything else and it sounded as if she was going to hang up. I quickly asked her to clarify that if I didn't give my credit card information, I couldn't have the appointment. She said that was the case, and hung up. Needless to say, I won't be using them for my heating system repair. No other vendor I've come across through Angie's List has required the handing over of credit card information even before the first appointment, and I find a policy like this unacceptable, no matter the reason for it. I wanted to let other Angie's list members know about their policy to be forewarned before calling them.

.We were very pleased with the service and professionalism shown by Air Group. We obtained three proposals for the work, but only the Air Group sales person (Eric) seemed to understand how heating/AC systems work. He analyzed our system and figured out how it should be configured and when we researched the issues, it was obvious that his advice was sound and made sense. As for the work itself, the installers arrived promptly on the scheduled date. They were courteous, neat, and inspired our confidence. They cleaned up the work area and left it immaculate. I would definitely use Air Group again!

It was very positive and they were professional and courteous. It was a free quote. He did take the time to go over everything. I would consider them again.

It went good. I have a service contract with them. They are orderly and polite.

Excellent service, quality work, reasonable price

I previously entered into a service contract with AirGroup because they purchased my previous service provider. My A/C central system is 11 years old. I have it serviced annually to test pressure, change filters, etc.. With this hot spell in the east the past few days, my system has been operating sporadically.....the compressor would not cycle, but would start after a shutdown for a few hours. I suspected the start capacitor was bad; and was planning to order one myself for about $30....it is a screwdriver job, and you have to be careful not to jolt yourself with 220V.....if that didn't solve the problem, I was going to make a service call to AirGroup. As luck would have it the system crapped out on this heat wave we are having. My wife is 72 and has health issues; it was in the mid 90's; so when the system did not cycle properly, I called AirGroup. To their credit they sent Abe (a service tech) out quickly and he diagnosed the problem as the capacitor. He also added a jump start device to boost the new capacitor. All of this solved the problem; relief on the way! The cost was a bit high to install parts that could have ordered myself for less than $100; but the technician was personable,; had the necessary parts on his truck; did his job quickly and efficiently and we are back online on a very hot day that I am sure had AirGroup's techs out in force. If the price were a bit lower, I would have rated them A for this visit.

I received a quote from Air Group for a standby generator. Air Group was prompt in setting up a quick appointment,the salesman was on time for the appointment and I quickly received a quote. Upon review of the quote, I saw that the model offered was discontinued and had an 3 year warranty, compared the the current model which had a 5 year warranty. When this was brought to salesman's attention, I was advied that they just received the new models but I never received a revised quote reflecting the current model.

I was very unhappy with my AirGroup experience: 1) The Salesperson had to called twice before scheduling a visit 2) When the Salesperson was onsite, he did not listen to a word I said...he was more focused on taking pictures, handed my a pile of documentation...then promptly left 3) The estimate was provide 2.5 weeks after the visit (it's not rocket science...it should not have taken more than 2 days) 4) AirGroup insisted that I use their Asbestos abatement company (not correct, I should be free to use whomever I determine is the best fit (price is very important) 5) Airgroup wanted did not include the removal of the old uit 6) Airgroup did not want to deal with the removal of the oil tank 7) I basically was being to asked to manage the job 8) Their price (because they did not handle any of the items listed above) was approximately $3K higher than the winning bid. The only conclusion I can draw, based on my experience, is that Airgroup is not hungry, they are not interested in being competitive and have no interest in growing their customer base. I can only imagine how bad the service would have been if I ignored all of the negative feedback and went with the Airgroup. My recommendation: stay away from these guys.

I have an old house built in 1910. I had estimates from 4 different firms highly rated on Angies List. All came in at around the same price but for ductwork. Air group put in high velocity for that price. An army ofbworkers descended on my house. They were punctual, very clean, organized and fast. The AC is delightful.

Sent out a sales man to do the estimate the job, and he gave me an estimate. When he sent the contract there was no breakdown on materials, no proof of how they came to this price. They got a lot of copper piping. There was a setup installed for doing exactly what I had done, neither of us knew about this at the time. This eliminated a huge chuck of the job. They dropped a small, then finally a larger amount on price. I even had materials that my husband bought, and they used some materials that we already had. They took all day to do this job. There was a valve that they put a handle on, which stuck out from the wall. Something hit that valve and opened it, and there was water all over the floor . This practically flooded my basement. I hired another company to clean my basement, and they does not know why it was done like that. They upped the warranty from 1 year to 5 year to try to appease me, but I was not happy. They never walked me through what they did, they never showed me where the thermostat was. I contacted them and let them know I was unhappy, and the gentleman that I talked to sent an edible arrangement to my home. I was not accepting an apology for the agitation and aggravation I went through with him. I will never use them again.

The experience was great. I like their customer service, follow through and follow up. They did what they said they would do when they did it. They are neat, professional and the price was great.
