Air Group

We called Air Group to replace a 15 year old air conditioning system that was installed by the builder of our 2 story home. The upstairs unit had broken completely, which prompted our call, although we had been very unhappy with our central air from the beginning. The house was always uncomfortably warm on hot days, no matter where we set the thermostat. If we set it for 74 degrees, on 90 degree days, the house would stay at 80 or above. Over the years, we had called in several AC companies to fix it, but none of them ever remedied the situation. We learned the hard way that even though the builder installed "central air," not all central air is the same.When we started doing research to replace it, we learned that the most important thing with central air is the installation.We got a number of estimates, and Air Group was not the cheapest. What stood out was Jamie Lospinoso's knowledge and his proposed solutions to our "hot spots" and other issues. He took his time to explain all that he was proposing, what needed to be improved with our existing ducts, returns, etc. and properly sized both units (upstairs was larger). Everything he said made sense. We knew that Carrier was a great brand, and just as a side note, had gotten estimates from other Carrier AC companies, who were nowhere near as indepth with their analysis of what was needed in our home.We accepted the proposal and 3 weeks later, Air Group did the installation. They are a very impressive team! Before 8a.m., there were 5 trucks and about 7 workers at our home, including Jamie. They all have preassigned jobs. They were very respectful of our home, covering their feet,etc. By the end of the day, they were completely done. The thermostat was set, and AHHHHH, the house was truly comfortable, for the first time!I waited to write this review for a couple of months because of our bad experiences in the past and to see if any glitches would occur. They haven't. We are extremely satisfied with our central air, and it has been a very hot summer! The only thing we weren't expecting was at least a 30% decrease in our electric bill! It is without reservation that I recommend Air Group!

Joe was extremely professional and knowledeable in the products and central air systems. This company was the most informative and professional out of 6 companies who provided estimates. Only negative side was that the pricing is also the highest. In return i'm sure they would have provided A+ quality workmanship, but unfortunately we cannot afford to spend an extra few thousand for the same work from a competitor.

Air Group was very professional and easy to work with on this project. The sales person was very responsive and came to my house numerous times to answer questions and review the scope of the project. The quality of the work was excellent as well. Air Group's price, although expensive, was competitive with other estimates. I would highly recommend Air Group and will work with them again.

Overall experience was not good. First of all, I do corporate sales for a living. It's extremely important that you not only sell your services but your brand and what you stand for. So with that said, the sales rep that visited my home did a poor job with the consultation. First thing I noticed? When he was talking about the major parts of the central air system like the condenser, it didn't seem like he really knew what he was talking about. Sure he knew the general pricing, but on a technical basis, it seemed to me that he lacked any real and credible knowledge about the workings of a central air unit. I've actually consulted with another company in my town and the experience was night and day. The other company actually sent an engineer (or at least that's what it said on his business card). Nevertheless, he explained everything thoroughly unlike this gentleman from Air Group. As a matter of fact, his recommendation to me was totally different from what the Air Group sales rep had suggested. The Air Group rep just simply advised for an all-out swap of my existing unit without any supporting explanation. So here's where everything really went south. This sales rep actually insulted me and my wife. Forget about the fact that he quoted us $3,000 more than anybody else. His reasoning was and I quote: "Air Group is not for everyone". Again, no supporting explanation. So what? Air Group only caters to people that are ignorant enough to overpay for the same kind quality of work and materials that someone else can easily perform and provide? And the question here is whether or not they are good. I'm sure they do good work. My dissappointment lies with the sales representative who clearly does not have a good concept on customer service. Never in a million years would I assume or imply that my customer does not have the resources or capacity to patronize my services. Maybe Air Group needs to rethink their strategy when sending out incapable sales reps. I personally think the technicians should do the actual estimates. Afterall, who else would know the product better than they do. Just a thought.

We asked for 5 bids and Air Group came second lowest but they indicated they could do the work in 2 days while others would take 3-5 days. Since we want to minimize any disruption, we decided to use Air Group. The sales person was very responsive to my call and questions. On the day of installation, there were at least 5 Air Group minivans came with almost 8 people ready to start the work at 7am. It took them a full day to install the duct work throughout the house and plus another day to finish up. It was done in 2 days as promised. The staff was very professional. The salesperson came on the first day to walk me through what would be done and again on the second day to check on the work. They cover furniture with plastic and the floor with cloth. At the end of the day, they cleaned everything. I was very happy with the speed and quality of work.

Air Group submitted an expensive estimate to replace the Central AC & Gas Furnace, $3000. more than another NJ HVAC Company with "A" install ratings on Angies List. Example: Quote from Air Group for Carrier turnkey HVAC install (no duct work) = $12.000. Quote from a competing Carrier Authorized Dealer (same Carrier equipment) = $8,800. Air Group was the only HVAC company contacted offering to do the job in one day, which is a compelling advantage for a homeowner, reflecting their well staffed operation. However, did not have confidence in the way the job was presented or subsequent lack of response to the customer's e-mailed questions to justify the price premium. Recommend getting at least three bids before you pull the trigger.

We requested a bid from Air Group for the installation of a generator. We received quotes from several contractors . In sum, Air Group, despite being told what the lowest bids were, came in over 35% HIGHER than the other reputable teams (all with ?A? ratings from Angie?s List, and two certified dealers for the generator proposed to be installed). When called out on the pricing variance, we were told ?sorry, that is our price?. Clearly a waste of time for us, and certainly not an organization we will ever do business with in the future.

My wife and I are first time home owners and are learning all of the "In's and Out's", and the joy's of home ownership! We bought our house in the winter, so we never got the chance to turn on the A/C till this spring, and when we did, it just never got cool enough. I tried to get another company off of Angie's List out for over a week. The timing never seemed to work out, and their hours are only 8:00 to 4:00 during the week, and they didn't do regular service on the weekends. So, I contacted Air Group Saturday morning at 9:30 and they said "No problem, we'll have someone out between 11:00 and 3:00". Their technician Louis showed up at 11:15! Louis inspected our system, told us with that our system was only a couple of years old and was in very good condition. He said, with the type of filters that are used by our system, that they have to be super clean and I put a new one in. He also put in about a pound of freon, and said that we should have the system inspected again next year, and that if we lost any freon again, that there might be a small leak somewhere. Louis from Air Group was great! He spent a little over an hour here, inspecting everything. Was very professional and courteous, and covered his shoes every time he came into the house. The price seemed a little high, but I was in a rush, so I didn't price it out. I would definitely use them again.

The service was excellent. I didn't have to worry about anything. Joe their sales rep came out and explained everything to me, and made me feel comfortable. If it was not for Joe I probably would have gone with a different company. The crew showed up on time they finished when they said they would. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgable.

Fair - would not recommend company.

Air Group provided a maintainance on central air unit and replacement of thermostat. Arrived on time and did a solid job. Easy to deal with.

Ron came out and performed the estimate. He was very detailed in going over what his company will do for me. He provided me the quote later in the afternoon. I emailed him several times regarding the quote and with follow up questions. He was quick to respond to all inquiries. Overall, he's a really like-able guy. I always let the contractors know that I have several quotes coming in and that I don't like to negotiate prices and ask for the best price they can give me. Along with the price, I also factor in the reputation of the company, the product they are selling, the quality of their work, and cost of service and maintenance. In this particular case, the decision came down to price and unfortunately his quote ended up being a little big higher than the company I ended up choosing.

They did the earlier furnace also for us. We will use them again.

They were excellent. They were on time, clean and efficient. They were like worker bee's. We had no problems with the installation. They were pricier than others but I would recommend them.

These guys were consummate professionals. They had to cut new ductwork from the attic down to the first floor in a split-level home, which is extremely tricky. They completed the job in 2 days. Amazing. The crew chief Felipe went out of his way to minimize the loss of closet space, found ways to get ducts into places we thought unreachable, and address any concerns we had. There was dust, but they were as clean as possible, took care to cover not only the floors, but also all furnishings with tarps and plastic. They also don't subcontract any work out. They take care of the plumbing, electric, and install with their own people. This is huge as you only have 1 contractor to deal with, as opposed to some other places that don't have all their own licenses. I could not recommend them any more highly. Also, price wise, though I did have to negotiate, they came in best out of 4 quotes I received, and this with Carrier equipment - the best and most expensive in the market!

They are easy to deal with. They have been established for quite awhile. They never over charge me. This is my third season with them.

Excellent job!! Staff was amazing. Job was completed ontime and perfectly. Highly recommend this company.

Overall I was very pleased with AirGroup. They are very professional ie accessible, responsive, knowledgeable, do good work, and clean up after themselves. I believe their price was the highest of all the firms I contacted, but...I went with them because they came highly recommended, were very buttoned up when we met to discuss what I wanted/needed, sounded experienced working with older homes, and suggested solutions for my project that no other firm did. I never mind paying a premium for a product/service if I get something for it. In this case it was very good customer service and work, as well as peace of mind.

AIR GROUP is great to work with, thier techs are quick, efficient, knowledgable, and friendly. We have had them to our house 4 times, twice to fix a very old AC, a 3rd time to perform a maintenance and cleaning of our furnance in peprartion for winter, and a 4th time to actualy replace the old AC they repaired for us with a new more efficient whole house unit. We had one of thier team out to discuss at great length options we had for replacing the unit with consideration to a home renovation and expansion that is on-going. The team that was sent to do the replacment worked through a constant rain, on a fairly cold day, and completed the work very quickly and removed our old unit. The tech for both the original repair work, and the furnace maintenence is great, and we have discussed many aspects of electrical and HVAC work in regard to appraching our home renovation and expansion project. I will definatly contact AIR GROUP for maintenence work again and for the installation of new equipment.

We woke up to a cold house on a Saturday and realized that our heater was not turning on. We called Air Group. They they arranged to come out to the house by noon and to charge us $129 for the visit. They were very responsive, arriving at our house only about an hour and a half after we placed the call. The repair person was here for about 30 mins and was able to find the source of the problem. The furnace emergency switch had been flipped to the 'off' position. He also took time to discuss some of the potential issues with our 50+ year old furnace and gave us some recommendations for replacing it in the future. After this experience, we will definitely get a quote on a new furnace and possible central air installation from Air Group.

They came on time. They were professional and efficient. People say they are on the expensive side, but I have no complaints at all. I like them.

They consistently tell me what I need, don't overcharge and show up on time. What else could you want. For example, I thought I had a problem with my hot water heater and was ready to replace it. Angelo came to look at it and realized the temperature setting was wrong. He could have easily just sold me another one because I was clueless on how it really worked. He instead did the right thing and just showed me how it worked and said when it really goes he would be happy to replace it.

Found problem other servicer (gas company) did not find. Came early next day following late afternoon call, took all time needed to find problem, got replacement motor from supplier and completed the job before noon.

ke this. Alex was there again, to get the job started and to make sure that the everyone was on the same page as far as where the vents were being installed and to answer any questions we had. During the day, a field supervisor stopped by to check on the status and ensure that the project was going as planned. The workers put tarps down wherever necessary and left the house clean. Most impressively, they started at 7:30a.m. and were completely finished by 3 p.m! I couldn't belive it! All in all, they were professional, respectful, easy to communicate with, responsive, punctual and a pleasure to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend them!

They came on time and were very professional but their fees were very high. They printed up a nice report but I didn't end up going with them because of the fee.
