Update: This is a response to Ron's response. I had my wife next to me when we were talking about having your installer call me back to fix that one room. You did not mention to me that the carpet was "compromised". What you did tell me was that you would talk to your installer and have him call me back. I called several carpet repair guys and they all said they were able to fix it. And it has been fixed. It took all of 30 minutes, if that. And yes I did tell you everything was fine after the installation. However, when I had the carpet repair guy fix that one room. He looked in the other rooms and saw a lot of noticeable seams. To me, as this is my first home, I thought that was normal. That is my fault in not being knowledgeable about carpet installation. I thought...of course there would be seams. don't they cut it up and patch it together? But the carpet repair guy said that there shouldn't be any noticeable seams. That was the revelation when another professional told me it wasn't a good install. ------------------------------------ I should have known from the first day that this wouldn't have ended well. I went through service magic to find a carpet sales/installer for my new home. When the owner of At Home Carpet and Flooring came, all he had was polyester carpet to show me. Seriously? You only brought me one type of carpet. Did he have an agenda? Probably. After speaking with him, he told me he can get any carpet at a lower price. When I told him about the carpet I was considering, he told me he will find the exact one and give me a better price. A few days later, he called and gave me a better price. So I signed a contract with him and he told me he was going to send his best installer. Mind you, I had other flooring projects to be completed so I told him if this comes out well, he will have more work from me. You would think he would go above and beyond to get more business from me. So installation day...the installers come on time. The crew was one experienced installer and two what looked like younger inexperienced installers or should I say "helpers". The experience installer had to go pick up the rest of the carpet so the other two younger installers started to rip up the carpet. I was hearing from the first floor that someone was ripping up the second floor hallway carpet which was not supposed to have been ripped up. When I stopped them, it was about 75% ripped up. One of the two younger installer called the experienced installer and he came back right away and told me he'll work on fixing the carpet by glueing the seams together. So the whole day was the two younger, inexperienced installers ripping up the carpet in the correct areas and installing them themselves. The experienced installer just wound up working on fixing up the ripped hallway carpet. The finished product? Well it was nowhere near what I expected. Noticeable seams EVERYWHERE. A few hours after the installers left, the owner calls me and just apologizes for what had happened but didn't even ask how he can help out with anything. Also, I called him a few months out after hurricane irene in the Northeast. We had a wet spot in one of the rooms and had to pull up the carpet. He remembered who I was. I asked if he can send out one of his installers to help reinstall/restretch the pulled up carpet since he owes me one. I told him I will gladly pay the asking rate. He said he'll have one of his installers call me back to set it up. His installer never called. Do I think he told him to call me? Nope. That's just how this owner works I guess. He gets his money and I guess doesn't care about customer service or customer retention.

They were good. I appreciated their selection with very competitive prices. They were a local business and I like supporting local businesses. All the staff was very professional. The only complaint I had is that the agent that sold me the carpet, he was responsive but he took a while to respond. I thought they were a very good company and I would use them again.

We contacted At Home Carpet & Flooring via their website and simply submit our request for a free in home estimate. A representative called us back in no less than 3 minutes from hitting send. A flooring specialist came to our home that very next day with their "mobile showroom", we picked out the carpet, padding, and they literally installed it the next day! We've purchased many floors in the past and these people obviously "get it"...We highly recommend At Home Carpet & Flooring.
