With all the recent rain and frequent power outages, we decided to get battery back up sump pumps to avoid basement flooding during power outages. A1 gave us a prompt evaluation and quote, and they were able to finish the job within about 10 days from the first phone call for information. Their workers arrived promptly, and did a professional job. It could not have gone more smoothly.

Great experience. They even corrected prior electrician's errors and brought job up to code for no additional cost!

They did an excellent job. They did what I wanted them to do. I will indeed hire them back. The work cost me $1800. They gave me the best estimate that I got. I was very pleased with the work that they did. They came out promptly. They explained things very well. They gave me choices making use of the existing materials as well as the upgrading I chose to do. They were willing to work with me on both terms. They were indeed very considerate of the cost. The cleanup was good. They were professional and very responsive. I will use her services in the future.

The technician arrived on time and performed the work needed. I also received an estimate for some additional work which I have not yet done.

The job went fine and took an hour to do if that. The electrician was very helpful and professional about everything. He even checked my dining room dimmer switch which I thought could be too warm and gave me the low down on them and eased any concerns I had with it.

Workers were punctual and professional. They provide written estimates before the work is done. They drilled through beams in between the walls that you are apparently not supposed to drill through. They also wanted an arm and a leg to perform other work, which I did not get done. For example, they wanted close to $1000 to add two recessed lights in the family room. I got another quote for around $700 from another electrician. I would not use them again simply because I think they are way overpriced.

I don't even know where to begin to explain how amazing my experience with A-1 Electric has been. For those of you who have gone through renovations you will understand where I'm coming from. It is very hard to find people who you can trust, who are professional, punctual, respectful, careful and on top of that know what they are doing. They do such good work that my inspector loves them. Cyndy is the one who you will speak to regarding scheduling and billing and she is top notch on top of everything and the nicest person I've had to deal with through out this entire renovation. Paul is the owner and he runs this company like a well oiled machine. The three electricians love what they do and love working for Paul. Their estimates where always right on. A++++++

Very responsive. I liked the itemized breakdown of services and price. Also, informed me as to what services were actually needed or too expenseive to consider. However, I did not like the fact that we talked over the phone rather than an in-person visit. Also, the overall estimate was much higher than the electrical company was eventually chosen to do the work. But I would consider using them if the need arises in the future.

I have a story similar to that of another reporter. I had two outlet boxes suddenly go out in my kitchen. I checked the circuit board and even the wiring in each box but could not find anything. I left an email message on A-1's site, figuring I would set up an appointment for someone to come look at it. Instead, Paul emailed me (within a couple of hours and on a Saturday, no less) with a suggestion: check to see if one of the outlets with test/reset buttons in the kitchen was the culprit. And that was it! (Although the one that caused the trouble didn't seem to be in line with the two boxes that were out, it obviously was.) So the repair job took all of a couple of minutes and at no charge. I greatly appreciate that Paul is willing to provide help even if it means he doesn't get some work. Their website is helpful as well. I will DEFINITELY contact him first if we have future electrical needs.

I left a message on the answering machine. I was called back the same day, an appointment was set-up, I was called a few days prior to the appointment date asking to reschedule. I was given the day following the original day. Paul Vinci arrived at my home at 7:00 am the exact time I was promised. He completed installing the new circuit and oulet in 45 minutes. He did a great job. You will feel very comfortable having Paul in your home. This is the second time I've used A-1 and I would use them again. All of the appointments and estimate were confirmed with e-mails from A-1. I have found them to be a very honest company.

He was very professional.. He came at the time we were given and did the work quickly. I would use them again. I was also given an estimate for services over the phone by the receptionist.

I have used this company several times now, for jobs big and small. I have been completely satisfied with their work each and every time. They are efficient, prompt, professional, clean, and courteous. A couple of times the price has even been lower than their estimate once the electrician got here and could determine first hand what needed to be done. We use them exclusively for any electrical work.

I usually take 3 estimates from well reviewed companies on Angie's list and one from a contrator recommended by a friend or family. Having had experience in hiring contractors for similar projects over the years, I had a fair idea of the estimate and cost of this project. Among the 4 estimates submitted, A-1 Electric's estimate was the highest. The company I selected was well-reviewed on Angie's List. Their estimate was well priced and was what I was expecting. I was extremely satisfied by their work. The A-1 Electric was promt in providing the estimate. Their office staff and the gentleman who came to give the estimate were courteous and professional.

Cyndy replied to my initial email + scheduled the free estimate right away (she is awesome!); Greg did the estimate, he was punctual + didn't try to sell me on things I didn't need (quite the opposite). He explained the work needed clearly and was very courteous + professional. Paul did the work, the house is older and needed a little more work than originally expected based on our appliances and overall needs. He even installed a power plug on the new dishwasher! New outlets/dedicated circuits meet or exceed the standard for new homes so very happy to have decent wiring instead of the old cloth wrapped stuff! Paul was here almost all day and the quality of the work was exceptional; the price was fair and they are so easy to work with, they renewed our faith in contractors after so many bad experiences previously with other companies. I would (and will) highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done; we have some other less urgent projects that need to be done and will use them for that work as well. Paul alleviated my fears about some of the other wiring that we had a concern about, and didn't have to replace outlets we assumed needed upgrades as well. Paul extremely knowledable and was able to answer some questions on issues outside of the electrical which was extremely helpful. Service was just amazing from beginning to end, wish every contractor conducted business this way!

It went very well. Although he was unable to eliminate the flickering entirely, he was able to reduce it to an acceptable level. The service entrance cable is in very bad shape, with lots of cracks in the sheathing. The technicians from the power company said it needs to be replaced. Perhaps the flickering will go away after I replace the service entrance cable.

Very pleasant experience working with Paul. Of all the electricians who bid on my job, Paul seemed the most informed and forthright about challenges inherent in my job. He was the quickest in terms of provide a quote and real-time feedback as we adjusted our order. Paul brought a solution-oriented approach to the job and we are more than happy with the result. Paul was not the cheapest bid but also not the most expensive - right down the middle. He is certainly on our very short list for future electrical/lighting jobs in the future.

I had several electrical projects to complete such as installing a light in closet, replacing our outdoor dusk to dawn light on the barn, and switching out old fixture on the side porch and installing a new chain light. I had all of the replacement fixtures. First I had a estimate and established an appointment. Then the weather turned cold and freezing cold. One of those terrible days in December and most of the work was outside. I thought they would cancel but no... he arrived promptly on time and worked outside in the cold and completed everything I requested. I recommend them highly.

Paul arrived about twenty minutes early, which was fine. We have an an old house (1950), but the jobs were essentially elementary. Paul had suggested putting a very simple porch fixture in place, instead of putting a plate over the hole. After I told him that my life partner partner and I had discussed it and still wanted just the plate, he quickly complied. He confirmed that the wires in the first floor bedroom fixture were fine. He added a missing screw thus securing the hallway fixture. All of this took 15 minutes. I know, because I was exercising and my timer was on. I definitely would use him again. Oh, I did not see his first posted bill in my e-mail. He sent me a second one (the first for me) before a late fee would have been incurred.

The quality of their work was good. I will use them again in the future.

The quote received was literally outrageous for 3-4 hours work, well over a thousand dollars. I also know for a fact that this company varies charges based on the zip code. I tested this by requesting a quote anonymously from 2 different addresses.

The fans worked until now (May 2009). Upon hiring another electrician to fix them, we found out that the work was not done properly. The correct parts were not installed which could result in a fire or the fans falling down. This is totally unacceptable as 2 of the fans were in my children's rooms. Stay away from this company if safety is important.
