Big Jim's Clean-Ups

We placed a call to this business on Tuesday morning about 9:30 a.m. Jim returned our call within a half-hour, met us at the premises by noon and gave us what we felt was a fair price for the work that had to be done. There is no driveway at the house, so everything had to be carted to the street. The length of the property is over 200 feet. Jim indicated he could do the job the next afternoon. As promised, Jim arrived with his work crew and by 3:30 p.m. the work was completed and the area was swept clean. We could not be more pleased with the service provided by this business. Jim is a very down to earth man. He is very personable, professional and followed through on his word. We would not hesitate to recommend this business. Thank you, Jim, and your workers for a job well done!

This was our second experience working with Big Jim's Clean-Ups, following the removal/disposal of items from a detached garage on our property in May 2014 ($700). In both instances, Jim was prompt, efficient, thorough, friendly, and showed a sincere interest in ensuring our complete satisfaction with the work being performed. In fact, the entire crew was a happy and helpful team, even willing to go the extra mile by relocating both a small shed and heavy grill to more suitable locations. The demolition project consisted of gutting three entire bathrooms, including original linoleum flooring, tile, sheetrock, insulation, framing, and cabinetry/fixtures. Regarding one particularly tricky wall (with an attached bathtub and solid composite material on a wall adjacent to the kitchen), I expressed concern that the demo process might crack the kitchen backsplash tiles and/or grout (given the sometimes aggressive tactics necessary to free offending fixtures) or damage electrical/plumbing located between the studs. As a result, extra care was used and the tile/grout, wires, and pipes remained perfectly intact. When the job was done, they broom swept the spaces clean and double-checked to be sure no debris had been left behind. The work was completed within a day and we were extremely pleased with the results. Not only would I highly recommend Big Jim for demolition and clean-up services, we plan to hire them again soon to remove some fencing that has seen better days. All in all, a very professional, hard-working, and genuinely nice group of guys.

Jim showed up with Julio and Romero. They arrived with smiles and brawn. After giving me an extremely fair estimate, they began to work. They worked quickly and efficiently and all with a great demeanor. They broom swept upon completion. I offered more money because they did such a great job(and it was such a fair price to begin with) but Jim refused to take it! I will definitely hire them again and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

The job went very well. Big Jim and his crew completed it in a flash. Very personable man who does a great job.

Called on a friday to make appointment for a quote, told me he would call me back on saturday to set up appointment(never called). Tried calling him on monday left message on his business phone, cell phone voice box was full. Tried again on thursday, left message,still no response. Needless to say i would never do businees with him.

Jim is very responsive and professional - he answered right away, came over when he said he would and wrote an estimate before he left. We did not use his services because we wanted to replace the rotting deck with a patio and we weren't sure how much of the cement footing had to be removed. Jim offered to remove them partially but we wanted to double-check with a patio contractor. Jim followed up with us several times but at the end, we decided to have the patio contractor rip out the deck for us.

Jim and his crew were very profession, friendly and reasonably priced. They removed a large amount of household waste materials left over from our house renovation, which they did with efficiency, carefully and very quickly. Its nice to see a service that really cares about their customer, are personable and go that extra mile to do a job over and above what you have asked of them. I would highly recommend using Jim for any removal needs, I certainly will be calling him again for his services!

Jim and his crew, worked hard - took down a shed and contents, yard, a full garage, emptied the attic of a 4-bedroom house containing 50 years of family living, in preparation for sale. Jim & crew are professional, pleasant and respectful of someones's family home. Also, needed an electrician, needed a cleaning service (felicia - Queen of Clean was excellent)- Jim's references were excellent. Jim and crew followed the NJDEP guidelines for solid waste, separating wood, metal and other contents. Jim's crew worked two solid days and hauled and cleaned everything up.

Big Jim came to see the job within a half hour of my call. His crew was there that same day. They removed a large swing/play set from our property. They worked quickly and did a great job. Big Jim was professional and very courteous. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience. Jim was a pleasure to work with and his team did a wonderful job. They were prompt, professional and tidy! We saved an additional $20 on the original estimate which was a nice perk as well. We will certainly use his services again when needed.

I called Jim based on the reviews on Angie's List because I had done the demo of my 3rd floor attic as phase one of getting it ready to re-do. However, the construction debris was so much you could barely move and I was exhausted just looking at it and wondered how I would ever get it down two flights of stairs and the front steps. Thankfully, I found Jim on Angie's List. In addition to removing the attic debris, I also had been thinking about tearing out a brick faux wall in my home, so I asked him to give me estimates for both jobs. He came to the house, looked at the work and told me he would get back to me by the following Tuesday (he came out to do the estimate on a Saturday) The price he came back with was fair, especially given the work, but I decided to leave the brick wall and install a fireplace in it. So Jim's job was down just to the attic.... He couldn't have been nicer and was so easy to work with - when I explained I needed just the one job done, he approached it with the same level of professionalism even though it was half the cost. I also had a few scheduling things to deal with on my schedule, and Jim worked with me to find a time they could come that worked best for me. On the day they came to do the clean out, Jim called me in advance to let me know the team was on their way. Unfortunately Jim was unexpectedly stuck at a site with a job from the morning running over and couldn't make it, but assured me the team would take care of the work. The team showed up and were professional, with clean "Big Jim" shirts and drove a truck with his company's name on it. When they came inside, the team put drop cloths down on my wood floors to protect them. They worked quickly (and quietly, which was great since I was working from home that afternoon) and were in and out in about 90 minutes. My stairway was tricky with the larger construction items because there is a 90 degree turn a few steps down, but the walls didn't have a scratch on them - this team was CAREFUL. Jim's and team are great - I would (and have already) recommend them to anyone who has stuff they want to get rid of because they are the best! I will definitely be calling Jim again. Thanks Jim!

I was blown away! Big Jim got back to me the same day I called his business (he was the first to call back of 3 contractors I called). I was under the gun because my house insurance company was putting pressure to have the building debris and the wood siding removed. He said he could do the work within a couple of days. I made arrangements for him to come while I was out of town for my grandson's birthday. When I returned I was so please at how the areas were cleaned up. They had even removed english ivy that had grown all over the stored siding - it had been such a mess! I was surprised that they had left the areas so neat and clean - you would never have known the mess ever existed! I definitely would use them again and would highly recommend them to others!

Big Jim and his crew were very professional and did a great job, they arrived in the morning and were done by early afternoon. Saved me 30 to 50 trips to the dump if I hauled it by myself in my minivan. Definitely couldn't have cleaned out the house in time for the closing without their help.

Big Jim was incredible. I was cleaning out my old house prior to moving and had about a dump truck full of debris. I called him up he was over that morning. His team was very professional and despite the fact I was moving the next day and he could have put me over a barrel, his price was very fair.

They removed the contents of the playhouse and put it under my deck. They were so pleasant and cooperative when I asked them to do this for me. I would recommend them. I'm not sure of the exact date last summer.

Job went smoothly and they even cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them to others and plan to use Jim again in the future.

It was good because the day he came was the day he did the work so I didn't have to have him come back and forth. It wasn't a big job but it was good because it was convenient. His location was convenient to me. His price was better than other quotes I got. He was good. I would absolutely use him again.

Jim and his crew arrived on time and did an excellent job! They were careful to not bump the walls when moving junk out. They used drop cloths so that dirt was not tracked into the home. Everyone was courteous and professional. The price was reasonable for the amount of work. I recommend them highly. I intend to hire Big Jim for more work in the future.

Service was excellent at a great price. Everything was done as promised. Took away all depbris plus, we added few things at the end and it was taken without additional cost. I will be using them again for sure as I have more renovation to do. Clean out was very good. We are really pleased with the service.

I was very impressed. Big Jim is very personable and deferential to his customers and makes the client feel like they are in control of the process which is often embarrassing since we are dealing with trash and other personal stuff like that. The experience was very positive.

Jim is very professional. He's on time. He assured nothing was damaged during the demolition. That day was raining, so he also put down some cloth on the floor so the water and mud wouldn't damage our new hardwood floors.
