We decided against doing the work we wanted due to costs involved.

Complete job was excellent from the sales rep to the office people to the two guys who did the actual demolition and construction. Salesman was very attentive and helpful as you might expect a sales guy to be, but he also handled some adjustments very well. Pre-work contact with the office was efficient and helpful. People were always available and were able to describe the process to us before work began. Perhaps the best part was the two guys who actually did the work. They completed the work in a timely manner with little to no downtime. They readily responded to special requests and answered questions. Overall the whole project was a great success.

Overall pretty well but we had to keep tabs to make sure that individual pieces of wood were of good quality.

I had a very good experience, from scheduling the estimate through the installation. I got a number of estimates from more local companies that were $1-$3K more expensive.

When I first contacted them they immediately responded, came out to the house and provided an estimate in the timeframe indicated.. I will be honest I don't recall the exact issue, but I believe the day of the planned installation the contractors might have gotten delayed on another job. It wasn't a big deal as I was home and they were very apologetic.

They do not stand behind their product or work. They told me they used better quality than Home Depot or Lowes. But when my son put a baseball right through it within a few months they could not help me. Not even a baseball player. Do Not Use them !

Unfortunately, they don't do what I needed, but I really appreciated their responsiveness and willingness to come out anyway (if I wanted) to look at the work. When we talked about the job in more detail, I realized it would be a waste of their time (and mine) for them to drive out to my house, but they offered a recommendation for someone else who did what I needed. I will definitely contact them in the future if I have a job which falls into their niche.

After much research, I hired them to do some fencing in our yard. The salesperson showed up on time and was very professional. He took the time to go over some designs and show us a catalog with samples of similar projects done. The price was very fair (we shopped around and had received 2 other quotes prior). The workers showed up on time every day and stayed all day to make sure the work would be complete in the projected timeframe. They even cleaned up after themselves each day and the job was done very well. I would definitely hire them again in the future for any projects needed in my house. Thank you.

Carl's recently replaced the wood floor of my deck with composite wood. I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship, skill and professionalism of the crew. Billeck and his men worked non-stop for two days and cleaned up the site when they were finished. They were respectful of my home and conferred with us on the design. I would recommend Carl's 100%.

The project went smooth from start to finish once it finally got started. Delays were due to township red tape, scheduling, not any fault of the contractor. Yes I plan on using them again for other home improvements.

Overall, it was a lackluster experience that I could have gotten from any sub-par siding company. During the construction, the team was very dirty and actually left nails in my driveway each day. From what I could tell, the usually didn't get there until 10am (which is a pretty late start, so they ended up being there until 7pm each night). I also had to have the foreman (who didn't seem to be onsite very much), come and personally inspect quality issues. The details (trim, capping) would have looked horrible had I not demanded the work be redone. This initial project was done in August, but just recently, I noticed some siding popping up. So I requested a repair, and the person they sent out did more damage than good by just trying to use nails to fix the problem and didn't want to correct it properly. I am still going back and forth with them to get a quality repair done. They send out a very nice salesperson who promises you the world, but then you are considered a pain if you actually demand the quality that you expected and paid for. They were not the cheapest quote I received, and my attitude if that for the aggravation and multiple quality issues I have had with Carls, I could have saved myself a few thousand dollars and most likely had the same quality of installation with another company that provided a lower quote. They are nothing more than an "average" company. Nothing stellar about their work or teams they send out based on my experience.

My initial experience with them was not good at all. Their representative, Dominic, was professional prior to my signing the contract but once I signed the contract and paid a deposit in May he became very unresponsive and I had to make repeated calls and send emails to get any kind of response. Our deck finally got started in August and I have to say the construction crew was thorough and professional especially 'Bolek' who was awesome and was willing to listen to the customer unlike my prior experience with them.The workmanship is good.

The job went well. The salesman Mike Resi was easy to work with and accommodating when I decided to change the fencing I originally selected. The installers were professional and worked incredibly hard in the summer heat. The fence looks great and I am very happy with the workmanship. I definitely recommend Mike and the guys at Carl's fencing.

Poor communication after initial contact and unprofessional response with no estimate given. Disappointed.

I want to preface this by saying last year I purchased a $6,000 fence from Carl's and had absolutely no problems. This time however I got an estimate and gave a 50% deposit on June 2, when I was told it would take 4-6 weeks "to process". After six weeks I called the office and was told it was being processed and they would call to set an install date. Two weeks after that (and now 8 weeks after giving them a %50 deposit) I was told that the supplies would be in the next week. When I didn't hear anything from them the next week I called and was told that the supplies were on back order from their supplier. I emailed the guy (Mike) who gave me the estimate and he was going to talk to the owner and get back to me the next morning, I never heard from him again. I then got a call from the office to schedule an install date the next day, which I couldnt do due to prior engagements so I was told by the lady she would call me back, which she never did. Later that week I got a call from the owner who apologized, but clearly did not understand the enormous lack of communication from his office staff to his customers. Eventually, we got an install date set. The day of the install I got a phone call from the office asking if I had seen the installer to which I said no and they said he didnt show up for work so they were going to get into contact with him and get back to me. A few hours later they called stating the installer was a no call no show so he was fired and they were sending another installer from another job over to my house, so here we are 10 weeks after giving the deposit and the work was done, and was done magnificently. There was an extreme lack of communication on Carl's part in keeping me in the loop with what was going on with my project. The workers who came however worked their butts off and did an outstanding job. Its really terrible that there was such a lack of communication because the work that Carl's contractors does is second to none, they really work really hard and do a wonderful job.

they quoted me a price that was 50% higher then the next highest quote. I responded don't even bother with a requote'

Allen was the first person I met, he was the owner of ATCO and had just merged with Carl's Fencing and Decking as of 1/1/2015. ATCO was a separate Home Improvement business for over 30 years. Allen came out and measured on a Friday laid out the project with high quality materials, and had an estimate the next day when I met with him at 8:00am on a Saturday. I used this proposal as my basis for 3 additional quotes. All were very close in price except for one that was $12,000 lower. When we actually got down to comparing apples to Apples this quote now became higher and I had no confidence that that contractor knew what he was doing, he low balled me from the start and I would have been sorry. Carl's / ATCO did a high quality excellent job and was on time, worked though rain every day. I couldn't believe haw fast the siding part of the job was completed. 4 days! that included removing the old cedar siding, removing a chimney and patching the roof, flashing all windows and doors, drip caps on all windows and doors, house wrap, foam baker board the cedar impressions siding, trim, fascia and soffits. Following Monday had the gutters and leaders in in about 1 1/2 hours. The project manager was Eric Wilson, THE BEST, he was on the job site a few times every day. Went over the job with me, and the crew and fixed things he didn't like that I didn't even notice. I will definitely use them again when the time comes to replace my roof and back deck. They also replaced my storm door and outside shower with a new vinyl shower enclosure. The outside shower, front steps and railing took much longer to schedule due to the fact that that division was extremely busy with all the houses being raised after hurricane Sandy. I told Eric I would be down for vacation from July 3- to july12 and wanted thes rest of the work finished before the 4th of July, I was having a houseful of company. Craig was now the project manager for this part of the job. Schedules were shuffled and my shower was in on July 3rd. I wanted the steps finished while I was on vacation and at the house that week again CARL's worked their schedule to fit me in before the end of the week. I was told it would be done that Saturday, Friday morning a supply truck pulled up with a load of decking and trim. I called Carl's to let them know and about an hour later Craig showed up and said he would get a crew out that afternoon. At 4:15pm a crew of 5 people plus Craig the project manager were there and finished the job at about 8:30pm on a very hot Friday night. Great crew and everyone worked with my timeline the best they could.

i received a quote for a 80' fence. The work was scheduleed to start between noon and 2 o'clock bu they had a cancellation so they came early at 10:00. It was a difficult job since the yard was on a severe slope and they had to cart all the work up a flight of stairs and the temperature was going to be in the 80' and hot. Despite this, they were tireless while working, and stopped for lunch and a few breaks which they really needed. They had additional work to cut and adjust the fence since the yard was sloped but they didn't need to thhink too much what needed to be done since they had done this type of work before. They asked me before cutting a piece of sidewalk to place a post where there needed to add one. I really adbmired their skill in adjusting the fence to match the terrain and the obstacles. They referred to me everytime they needed to make a decision and also gave me choices. They were so helpful and accommodating. They were here from noon until 6PM working much of the time and a much needed fence was installed perfectly. The quality of the fence is outstanding and I am sure it will last a very long time. If i will need another fence, i would not hesitate to call them again without hesitation. I would highly recommend them.

Our salesman was great to work with. He was not pushy, and was very patient with all my questions. He was able to get the contract to us very quickly with the layout. The installers did a fantastic job, and I love the way my new fence looks! The installers were careful around all my plants and left the yard very neat. The fence looks great, and I am very satisfied with the style. I would use Carl's again for another project. The only reason I am giving a "B" for responsiveness is due to scheduling. We did not hear from them about the time the installers would be arriving until very late the day before (after we called to ask). We had the date scheduled, but the time window was not told to us until very late. Also, it was mentioned to us that our installation was a somewhat big job and may take 2 days or 2 crews. I wish we were told ahead of time that they were planning for 2 full days rather than sending 2 crews for 1 day. This may have been a bit of miscommunication, but in the end, it doesn't really matter since the fence looks great.

Other than a few hours delay due to heavy traffic that morning, the installation went smoothly. The crew worked non-stop. They removed the old wire fencing and layed out the job along the surveyor's lines I had done two weeks earlier. After that the fence and gate went in by mid afternoon. They left the yard spotless and us very happy. We'll definitely use them again. Highly recommended!

The guys showed up for the job on time. There were three guys for the job and they were all polite and professional. They did a great job installing the fence. I really appreciate that they did a great job of working around my gardens without destroying my plants.

I called and set up an appointment for April 14 at 4:15 PM. I called them at 4:45 after he did not show and we had not received a phone call. I was informed that our appointment was not set up in the computer. I had made the appointment with the gentleman who was actually planning to see us so it should not have mattered if it was in the computer. We decided to give them another chance. We set up an appointment for April 30. This time they did show up .......late. We went through everything and we were told that we would have a quote the next day. We did not get one. It was not until Wednesday, May 6 that the quote finally arrived. I was told that it was put under a different customer's name. By this time we had another company coming. We did not go with Carl's.

everything went perfect! Would hire them again! Highly recommend this company. great to do business with. Later had them do 2 basement windows. Very satisfied! One of our windows cracked. Must have been a weak spot. They took care of it at once!
