After just purchasing our new home, our bathrooms and showers were backing up into our basement. We were going to have a handyman come over to try and snake out the line, but a friend recommended we call Roto-Rooter instead, explaining we may just end up paying two people for the same job. Roto-Rooter came out the same day, called before coming and was even earlier than they said they would be. Our serviceman Francis (#1182) was professional, knowledgeable, and worked diligently to clean out the sludge build-up and gave us the results we needed - a cleaned out sewer main line with a 6 month guarantee. Francis did a phenomenal job and we would greatly recommend the services of Roto-Rooter! Thank you Francis and Roto-Rooter!

They arrived within an hour and the service rep Steve was very knowledgeable and explained everything so we could make an informed decision. He fixed our problem with ease and we were able to quickly move on with the rest of our weekend.

perfect, he was able to identify and fix the blockage in our pipes. Yes he was a good plumber, something that is learned but having a great personality and a pleasure to have in your house, that just comes natural.

Phone was answered quickly and professionally. Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Worker arrived at scheduled time, and did his work quickly with no mess or problems. No problem using the coupon from Angie's List.

The Tech(Pat) was very professional, and not only did he clean the line from the where all the pipes meet to go out, but also from founation to the street; he even went out to the street to check the manhole and there is was not a problem there. He also stayed long enough for me to check to make sure that the washer water went directly out and nothing backed up into the house, since that is what started the problem.

The plumber Chris was very throrough and explained everything. In addition to clearing out the drain he check all the fixtures in the house to make sure they were all draining properly. He also checked the outside vent to the main. Although a little expensive it was worth every penny. Sink is draining like new.

I was not impressed with the price that I was quoted, I had another service provider do the same job for a quarter of the price.

Extremely happy with the service by the technician. He quoted a price for the work involved after a thorough inspection of both problems in the bathroom and kitchen. The work was completed and he cleaned up. The price was high but I am willing to pay when I know the work is done correct. The peace of mind is worth the expense.

I called the provider about a clogged toilet. The plumber they sent was rude and treated my wife with disrespect. He tried to pressure her into spending $600 to unclog the toilet ($250 to remove the toilet itself which another plumber did in about 2 minutes for free as part of the estimate). He said we would never find a price cheaper than $600 when my wife sent him away. I couldn't find another service as rude or as expensive as this one. I guess they are unique in that respect.

See above comments. I would definitely ask for John, and while roto rooter was pricey, I was able to print a $40 coupon on line.

My husband and I give Roto-Rooter A+ for these reasons: Very puntucal: The plumber and his assistant/protegee(?) arrived ten minutes earlier than the appointed time of 12 noon, which my husband and I very much appreciated as all our sinks, except one, were backed up. In fact, the whole house smelled terribly and we were extremely glad to see the Roto-Rooter plumbers. Knowledge and professionalism: The lead plumber was able to assess our situation very quickly and accurately so that the problem was resolved quickly. Since all our bathroom sinks (except for one bathroom) and the kitchen sink shared the same drain line across the width of our house, it took about 65 feet of drain cleaning hose to clean out the debris. Highly recommend Roto-Rooter and would not hesitate to use them again!!

The two technicians, Bayo and Dimitry, were extremely knowledgeable about their job. They were able to pinpoint our problem concerning a leaking toilet quickly and got to work right away. They were personable, patient and polite and explained everything about our situation before, during and after they completed their work, which took them almost no time at all. They even took the time to access any other plumbing needs that we had and helped us relieve a drainage problem concerning our tub that was not part of the initial reason that we called for service. In addition, they showed us how we could address the drainage problem should it occur again by giving us steps to take to correct the problem completely. The whole experience with these two gentlemen was very helpful and informative. We would highly recommend each of these techs, together or separately. We would also call Roto-Rooter again because of their promptness in responding, techs who are knowledgeable about the work to be done, and the politeness on the part of all of the staff that we spoke to in setting up our appointment. We do not have too much to say about the cost except that what we were quoted at the beginning was what we were charged at the end so there were no surprises, which was very good. It went well. Dave worked straight for two hours. He was very thorough. He even showed us a scope of the pipe, and what was blocked. It was like looking at a "clogged artery". At the end, he recommended using crystals that can help eliminate future problems.

Sewage was backing up into my slop sink in the basement. The main sewer line from my house was clogged. I called two local plumbers who recommended that I call Roto Rooter because their snake equipment is more powerful than theirs. I called and was promised a time. The office staff called me twice to let me know the technician's status. They notified me when the technician was 20 minutes away, he even came a half hour earlier than promised. James, the technician, was polite, very neat and did a great job!!! He told me the price ahead of time and it was exactly as estimated. I even found a coupon on the internet. Afterward, James told me to put coffee grounds in the area to get rid of the sewage smell. It worked like a charm.

1/2 an hour worth of work. Established the level of clog. Opened the cesspool to check it. Closed it up went back to basement opened the main drain and sent down the snack. Pulled it back with a lot of grease. Once it was opened run the toilets twice , poured in a special enzyme and closed it back. He was polite fast and efficient. It was Sunday morning and we had a lot of guests. He saved the day. thanks will used it again...but not too soon, i Hope...it was still too pricey for us....

Have used Roto-Rooter previously. Should have known better. They replaced our water heater which after the town inspected failed since the venting was incorrect. They did come back out and fix and then passed town inspection. Recently, our kitchen sink sprung a leak. The first tech showed up promptly within 2 hours of our initial call. Fiddled around underneath the sink, and went back to the truck a couple of times, said he didn't have the proper part and would go to home depot. Came back, more fiddling around and then said still didn't have the right part and had to go to Home Depot AGAIN. All in all took 2 1/2 hours to replace a six inch piece of pipe under the kitchen sink. After he left, the sink was STILL leaking so i immediately called to tell them and to request a different plumber be sent since the first obviously didn't know what he was doing. I also questioned them as to why they charged me 2 1/2 times the price of the part - the amount they charged was $36 which seemed a bit high for a pipe from home depot so i drove there myself and took a picture of the part .. $11.99. that was in addition to the $230 service fee. When I spoke to a manager, he offered to credit me $20 for the part which they never did. Do yourself a favor, use them to clear a clog ONLY. I will no longer be using them. Really don't know what they keep in those vans since they make so many trips to home depot. Thought they would have enough parts stored on the truck.

They were fine, they were good. They were prompt, and they took care of everything. They were no complaints. They are very professional, they were good on the price, and they performed well. Overall, I will give them an A-.

It went great. First Luis Nieves came to my home with a camera to inspect the main drain exiting the house. It had often become clogged due to roots getting in (the house is from 1905 and the main drain is terra cotta) and backed up fairly often into the basement with waste, etc. (not much fun). He showed me with the camera the area that the drain was getting clogged, but he inspected the rest of the drain all the way to the street and said that otherwise it was in good shape. There was no charge for this service. He recommended a liner as opposed to a complete replacement as the drain in general was still in good enough shape to accommodate a liner and this would avoid a full replacement. I was tired of spending $300-$400 or more a year to keep getting the drain unclogged so knew it was time to fix the problem. Luis told me it would cost in the neighborhood of $8,000. Sounds like a lot but I know my neighbors had just paid around $30,000 for a full drain replacement. On my go ahead, he called the office and arranged for the work the following week. On the appointed day three guys came with all their equipment and started work. They arrived around 8am. They asked me not to use the water at all until further notice. They stayed on the job until it was completed around 3pm and at that time I helped them perform some tests to make sure all was running well. They went back down the drain with the camera to make sure. They gave me the bill and with taxes etc it was around $8200. They give a 50 year guarantee which is transferrable on sale of the property. The three guys they sent were efficient, professional and easy to talk to. I haven't had a problem with a drain that was a regular headache for years. They did a great job and I was spared a much bigger cost. Have recommended them to several neighbors who are still getting their drains snaked twice a year - hope they listen.

I do have a sump pump but something was wrong. The quoted something close to $600 to replace the sump with a newer model with a better designed float. I went with them down into the crawl space with standing water to look at the pump and plumbing we had installed. Turns out, the float was detached from the sump. Plumbing was in good shape. So I just re-attached the float and the water cleared in a few hours. While they were at the house, I also asked them to look at a kid sink that was not draining properly. They went under the sink and cleaned the drain of some hair. It took about 5 minutes. It would have taken me much longer to figure that one out. But they did charge close to $80 for 5 minutes of work. I would have liked that price to be a little less. But overall, they were the only plumber I was able to get to the house on short notice and guess I paid for that level of responsiveness.

With our bathrooms, we had a leaking issue in a few stalls and they were able to repair it quickly. With our kitchen sink, we were experiencing clogging and they were able to resolve it as well. We highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. Very quick response time.
